  • Satellite L10-102: screen goes down, then comes very rapidly.

Hi, I have L10-102 nootebook. Sometimes while working, screen goes down suddenly then comes very rapidly. Like natural eye blinking. ?s it a kind of main power problem or comes from different defect.
I need advise to solve the problem.
    Thanks..

    Hi Manuel
Believe me according to your explanation it is not easy to say what happen exactly. In my opinion just an intensive check can result with some explanation.
Is your unit permanent connect to the AC adapter when this happen?
Is the monitor off function enabled in power manager?
On this way it is not easy to say what happen.

  • Satellite L10-102 RAM upgrade not working

    Hi,
I bought 512MB PC3200 RAM to my L10. After installing the module the computer failed to boot up. I tried all possible combinations (like changing the slots, installing only the new modules) but the computer only boots up with its original memory module. I would appreciate any help on the issue.

  • Satellite L10-102 windows 2003 drivers

My laptop does not connect to my wireless adsl modem even no wpa or wep password is enabled on windows 2003 server!!!

    Hello
In my opinion you should try to make connection on the easiest way without any passwords or firewall settings. This unit is not supported for Windows 2003 server and it is not possible to find any driver designed by Toshiba.
In my opinion driver designed for WXP should works too but try to identify which WLAN card is listed and check if you can find an actual driver from manufacturers site.
If you are able to see your network but it can not be connected check the WLAN settings.
    Bye

  • Re: Can i boot Satellite L10-102 from USB flash disk?

hello everybody, i wonder whether it's possible or not to boot my good-old laptop via usb flash disk? do you think my laptop's bios support this feature?
lol... sorry i forgot feedback part... well people are looking at what i asked, but no one writes back.
I think it would be better at least admins direct members to the sources where they can find some info.

    Hi
I doubt you could boot from USB flash disk
As I remember the older notebook series support the booting from HDD, ODD, LAN and USB FDD drive (diskette). The booting from USB flash disk is not supported.

  • Satellite A100-049: CDs and DVDs don't read after standby

I have a new satellite A100-049 that came with vista home premium pre-installed. After returning to the computer from sleep/standby (Whatever the mode is when the light pulses yellow) no discs can be read in the drive. The disc will spin continually but nothing will happen.
Everything works fine when the computer is turned on first time, but after sleep it stops reading discs. Is there anything I can do about this?

It doesn't recognize it when i re-insert it or put it in fresh after standby. It just keep spinning without loading. Wierd thing is, if i try to load a program with the disc spinning and by clicking on the desktop icon and then take the disc out while it isn't loading I get a message saying please insert disc

  • My iPhone 5's serial number isn't eligible for iPhone 5 battery replacement program, but clearly has battery problem.  Help?

I was relieved and not at all surprised to find out that Apple was recalling certain iPhone 5s for battery replacement.  I was sure mine was one affected.  (My battery doesn't last more than 4-5 hours after a full charge at normal use.)
Having entered my serial number on this page: https://ssl.apple.com/support/iphone5-battery/  I was told that my phone wasn't eligible.
I sincerely think my phone has a defective battery and that the range of serial numbers should be broadened beyond what Apple calls a "very small percentage of iPhone 5 devices."
Anyone know how I can get Apple to help here?

I have the same problem with a iPhone 5c which was purchased last fall (2013) after the Replacement Program time frame. It drains with minimal use.
We have several iPhone4's, 2-3 years old, which have never had this issue.
From reading all of these responses/questions, Apple really needs to address this issue for all 5's. This is a big problem, when the phone is completely unreliable.

  • Battery monitoring software shows 0% charge - Satellite 1900

My Satellite 1900 has stopped charging the battery. It works fine on mains and says it is charging but when you check the battery monitor it shows 0% charge. Up to this point the battery appeared fine with 1 to 2 hours use from one charge.
Is this a problem with the computer or the battery monitoring software, or could the battery have an instant failure? The computer had not been moved from the desk so had not been dropped or knocked.

I dont think there is a battery or hardware problem. It looks like the notebook runs properly with battery power.
Try to access the Toshiba Power Saver and go to the last tab called battery power meter.
There you can click individual battery icon for more info. Maybe the setting must be only reset.

  • Satellite A100-570: Battery exchange program utility doesn't load page

I've read in the latest issue of computeractive that some notebook batteries malfunctions and mine was one of those mentioned.
I downloaded the piece of software from Toshiba website to check the battery and indeed it told me my battery was affected. I wanted to put in an exchange application to which I clicked yes.
However, when the page loads up it is unknown. I have a A100-570 and am quite concerned about this matter but trying to get any info from Toshiba is quite difficult by email.
    Can anybody help?

    Hi
I found on the Toshiba European page a detailed description how to use this tool.
You can find this document here:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com -> Support & Download -> Product Updates -> Product Update: Toshiba Voluntary Battery Exchange program
In the section Battery Pack identification you will find a link to the Battery Pack Identification manual and to the Toshiba support bulletin document about Battery Pack Voluntary Replacement Program.
Furthermore I would recommend reinstalling this tool and please check the internet option like Privacy and security in the Internet explorer.
Maybe your IE settings block some third party sites and cookies.

  • Satellite L10-232: Black screen after the lid closing.

    hello
I've moved my notebook (satellite L10-232) to another room, it wasn't shutdown (just closed it). When I opened it there was nothing on the screen and the accu isn't empty (processor is still doing some things). Does anyone know how I can solve this problem?
    Thanks

    Easy ..
Powermanagement is the weakest and less stable functionality on any laptop. (especially with faulty batteries).
NEVER try to count on standby mode etc. It will work 999 time and the 1000 time it don't.
Now you ended with a hung laptop.
    The ways to proceed :
    1. the gentle way :
-push the power button ,and keep your finger on it for 10 seconds. (5 is enough ,10 to be sure)
    -remove your battery
    -plugin powercable
    -push the powerbutton
    2. the less gentle way :
    -remove the power cable
    -remove the battery
    -wait for 24 hours
    -insert the power cable
    -push the power button
    3. the hard way : ENSURE YOUR HARDDRIVE IS NOT PASSWORD PROTECTED,ELSE YOU LOOSE YOUR DATA.
try to figure out hat is the key startup sequence in order to reset the BIOS at boot. (it should be described in your manual somewhere)
    4. the hardest way : !!!! ONLY BY A PROFESSIONAL !!!!
ENSURE YOUR HARDDRIVE IS NOT PASSWORD PROTECTED,ELSE YOU LOOSE YOUR DATA.
The laptop has to be opened and all battery should be removed. All capacitors should be emptied (by letting laptop without any batteries for 72h) . Then power up
    the laptop.
Please note that I cannot be held responsable for any damage or data loss by any circumstances.

  • Re: Satellite L10-90 - Time settings are wrong if I start computer the next

Hi, I have Satellite L10-90 with XP Home. Since about one month the time setting is always wrong. I have synchronized the time and it seems to be corrected. But if I start the computer the next day, the time is wrong again. I have found some information in Google. Some people say that the battery on board is already discharged and need to be replayed with a new one.
I don't know what could be the reason. If I need a new battery, where is it on this computer and how to change it?
    Help will be appreciated.

    Hi
I have did the following tests:
1 Synchronize the time with time.windows.com, the time will be set correctly. The current time will be displayed and the time goes on. Shut down the labtop, wait, turn on the labtop, the time is wrong. The time beginns from the moment at which the labtop shuted down.
2 Synchronize the time with time.nist.gov, the problem is the same as 1.
3 I just have normal DSL, don't connet my labtop to a server.
4 I always use the AC/DC adapter as power supply. Even I shut down the labtop, it is still connected
It seems that if the labtop is off, the time wil stop.
    Any ideas?

  • Install KDEMOD, cant find a battery monitor applet

    Hi there,
I'm new to Arch... I've been an Ubuntu user for about two years now. I was attracted to Arch one very specific thing:
Rolling-Release... It just sucks to be stuck with the same old apps when everyone else (including the windows crowd) has cutting-edge features. So this just rocks in my book. I read that stability in Arch is good enough despite being extremely up-to-date so great.
While doing my research I of course tried gentoo... Which I dislike so much after being left without a computer for 2 days straight while emerge downloaded, compiled and installed gnome. I have a slow connection (200mbps)... Maybe if downloads where asyncronous to compiling it would be slightly better.
I'm also in love of apt-get. That's way I wouldn't give any distro a chance if they didn't offer a GREAT package manager. Pacman surpasses my expectations, I might have found a new love lol. It's lots faster than apt-get for installing programs, and so far I haven't got dependency errors.
Now KISS just rocks... for some things. I enjoyed a lot working on my .conf files. I had done a bit of it on ubuntu but there it is pretty much authomatized. As I said, I like it because it gives you more control and forces you to gain some knowledge of the system. And KDEMOD is awesome beacause of it, no bloat alright!
BUT: Where's my frigging Battery Monitor???!!! I live in fear my battery will die on me anytime... I usually consult it via /proc, but still, that isn't good enough. I think there should be a kdemod-utils-laptop or something to provide this kind of things... Any suggestions as what to do???

darn it, my first post should've been something better lol
Well the package in kdemod is called:
    kdemod-kdeutils-klaptopdaemon
    It works now

any advice?? or all every one has the same problem???
It works fine for me (on a N8). Earlier versions did this but 1.2 seems to have fixed it.
    A couple of questions.
1 - Do you actually have version 1.2? May seem a silly question but for a time Ovi store was showing 1.2 but linking to 1.1. Check on the info tab in battery monitor.
2 - When uninstalling are you rebooting (hold power button for 8-10 seconds until you feel 3 vibrations) after uninstalling the 2 programs (Barttery monitor and Battery monitor service)? I don't know why this is necessary but maybe it clears some seting that stops the new install working properly.

  • E6-00 Nokia Battery Monitor 3.0

Since upgrading my phone to 'Belle', I've noticed there is no longer a Power Saving feature on it. While it's now easier to switch 3G and WLAN on or off and save the battery that way, there's no way to decrease screen brightness or switch off the torch feauture. Also the screen unlock button works half the time and the camera in silent mode now manages to wake my baby with a loud shutter click, but that's just niggles. What really bothers me is how Nokia Battery Monitor 3.0 is available for all the Symbian Belle models, but not the E6-00?! There's more programs out there that work fine on my C7, but can't be downloaded onto the E6-00 via the phone or OVI. I am a luddite, but I've got to wonder whether it's just because the screen resolution is untested? What other difference is there? Yet if Store and Angry Birds can be displayed on both my C7 and the E6, so can a well written app, especially an essential one like NBM. I don't even care if the app would become almost impossibly tiny or heavy on the scrolling.. So long as I can use it, or even choose it! Why on earth aren't E6 users allowed to download apps such as these? I'll do my own SAT and UAT happily, I'm already signed up to Beta Labs but a bit miffed since Reader and other apps became unavailable for the E6-00 there as well. I cannot believe you offer a phone with all the functionality of the Symbian 3 range, but happily saw one of its legs off. Don't even get me started on BBC iPlayer download support - the BBC's fault perhaps but another reason to get quite fed up.
Rant over. Fair enough if you skipped that. To boil it down: Why is Nokia Battery Manager 3.0 made essential for the E6-00 yet unavailable, and why aren't Store and PC Suite users allowed to download unsupported applications if they're clearly alright for the OS, with every chance they'll either work or not cause damage?

I have the power saving option on my E6 - when the battery's nearly flat I get asked, and I can select it via the ON/OFF switch.
As far as E6-compatibilty of various apps goes, isn't just a case of whether the author can be bothered to accommodate the 640x480 res.?
A man on a Nokia-oriented site said the iPlayer worked fine on his E6 and he has Belle. Users outside the UK get the usual "Your phone is not supported" in gorgeous purple.
The London Underground app worked fine under Anna on My E6, but not under Belle. Glad I've still got my E72 for that, and as a document scanner and close-up camera (IMHO the E6 is vastly superior for 1.5 m to infinity shots abd of course for video. But that's another story...
I'm fairly happy with Belle on my E6, but that may be because I only had Anna for a week or two, one of which I spent in the UK and went through hell trying to roam on a date connection. So I was relieved. I should have been aware before I bought the phone of the screen res being a problem as well as having many advantages. That said, the lack of some apps is annoying to say the least, and Battery Monitor v. 3.0 would be kind of useful.
