Satellite L20: Can I disconnect devices like USB Mouse without turning power off?
Hi, all.
I'm an owner of Satellite L20 notebook. I have always turned power of my computer off when i need to connect or disconnect any USB Device. Some devices have a special icon on the taskbar to disconnect them but some doesn't (USB FDD or flash disks). Can I disconnect and connect devices like USB Mouse or Scanner wihtout turning power off?

Of course that you can do this. Because of that there is Safely remove Hardware option. All external devices connected on your unit should be listed there. If you want to remove some of them click on it and click on STOP button.
When the selected device disappears from the list you can remove it from the port. I have done this many times with different units and external devices ithout any problems.

This OSolaris version is booted from CD/DVD drive and can be permanently installed on HD drive. Moreover You can find at this site suitable script for USB thumb preparation. However You should remember that the number of read/writes on USB thumb is limited (ca 400 and slightly more in more expensive versions).

Can I disconnect a bitlocker USB drive that is in a state of Decryption (paused) and attach to another machine?
The background on this question is that I didn't realize at first that I was plugged in to a USB 1.1 hub and it took over 1 hour just to get to 1% decryption. I've paused the decryption but a tad hesitant to disconnect and plug in to another system.Hi,
How about your problem now? Generally speaking, when you encrypt USB drive using Bitlocker, you can pause encryption if you need to remove the device for some reason. If you don't do so, you could damage or lose files stored on the device.

G62 can't find drivers for USB mouse
For some reason I can't get my wired mouse OP-35D to work with Windows 7. When I plug it in ti the USBslot the PC can identify that its a USB mouse but can't find any drivers. I've downloded drivers from the manufacturers homepage but it's still not working. Tried four different USB mouse both wired and wireless, same result. USB-memorysticks, USB-harddrives are working fine.
Solution anyone?Open Device manager and Expand USB Controllers, right click on everything labeled as device or hub and select uninstall, do this one at a time. Once this is done restart the notebook.
Do Not uninstall anything labeled Controller. -

Most devices are going to require more power than an unpowered USB 3.0 hub can provide. With power they can usually provide 3 to 4 amps for the ports. Without only about 900 ma at best. You don't mention what you're going to plug in, or if you need more than 4 ports.
Below is a link to an Anker USB 3.0 bus powered hub on Amazon that might meet your needs. If power demand is low, a powered unit might be good for when needed at home. However, it might be possible to leave the power adapter at home when traveling. It's suggested that you check with Anker support on that first to ensure the bus is going to provide the needed power for your application and devices.

Hi, my MacBook Air is not working anymore if it's not connected with the power cable. It's pretty new so I can't imagine that the battery is dead already. Why can't I use my MacBook Air without the power cable even though I charged it for hours?

Let the battery fully darain. After charging for an least an hour try a reset and restore. Use Recovery mode if necessary.

Under the email provider find the account from which you can't send (you mention Yahoo) and click on that, then the first thing on the next page is the email address so click on that and scroll down to advanced, there you'll find SSL settings. I can provide screenshots if you still require help although I don't have a Yahoo account the instructions are the same for any email account.

Satellite L20 - no audio output device using Win7
I purchased a 2nd hand Satellite L20 which was upgraded from xp to win7 on the task bar says no audio output device is installed.
Tried update driver in device manager -- no good
Downloaded Realtek AC97 driver -- no good.
It will play sound from dvd through usb sound device to head phones.
But how the hell do i get the sound to work on internal speaker.Do you know which sound chip is inside?
This old notebook model is not supported for Win7.
Try to install THIS driver.
If this will not help try to install Vista driver or drivers designed for other notebook models.
It is not easy to help with this. Check sound chip.
