Satellite L300 PSLB8C: printer driver error - NT 4.0 blocked

I have recently just brought a new Satellite L300 - PSLB8C 04P01X with vista home premium 64bit installed.
I am trying to install a driver for a printer (ML-2010). In the process, I have encountered these two errors:
'the printer driver is not compatible with a policy enabled on your computer that blocks NT 4.0 drivers'
I have also tried to install the driver in several other different ways, including updating the driver from the device manager and adding a printer from the control panel. Neither methods I have tried accepted the driver that was in the vista package for the ML-2010.
In addition, I encountered the same errors in the process.

If you search a little bit with Google, you will find a lot of links.
Many people have problems with this printer on Vista 64bit.
I have founded a short review via Google about this printer and found out, that for this printer is no 64bit driver available.
On the manufactures website I also did not find a Vista64 bit driver.
Only for Vista/2008 and XP 64bit.
Sorry but I think this is not possible to use this driver with Vista 64bit but in your case I would contact the manufacture of the printer.

Hmm sounds like a serious hardware issue.
If you are a lucky man the issue could be related to RAM module.
The RAM modules can be replaced easily. The memory bay is placed at the bottom of the unit secured by one screw.
But the question is if its really related to RAM.
Well, you will know this if you would replace/check this
Otherwise I recommend asking an professional notebook technician for a help

Hello, We have multiple Server 2003 Print server and are working on testing a Server 2012 print server. We have run into an issue where a PRINTER (type 4, normal) works with our Windows 7 32 bit clients, Windows 8.1 64 bit clients and the
2012 R2 server, but when trying to install to a windows 7 64 bit clients using \\SERVER\PRINTER we are getting the above message. (The printer is not offered currently in the directory).
I have been scouring the Google and Bing and have yet to find a satisfactory description that matches this issue. Nor have I found other information that resolve this issue. Like, blaming this on the spooler or DLL fixes or Reg hacks (applied
on the client side).
Specifically, we have used the native 2012 R2 drivers "Ricoh Class Driver", "HP LaserJet 4240 PCL6 Class Driver" and "Xerox Phaser 6120 Class Driver"
If I use a Type 3 driver from Xerox I am able to print from the Windows 7 64 bit client to the print device, but I was hoping to get all of my clients onto 1 driver. I understand that I might be able to use some sort of WMI filtering in our GPO

Sudden Canon CMFP Printer Driver Error?

My Canon MF8380 had been working fine with my macbook pro (printing wirelessly), and all of a sudden today I am getting an error that says:
"Canon CMFP Printer Driver: Printer is not responding. Check the printer power and connection, and then try sending printing job again."
I have tried the basics - turning off and on the printer, rebooting the macbook pro, printing from different applications, making sure Job Accounting is not checked in setup, seeing that the driver seems like it's acknowledged, checking and unchecking sharing prefs... Not versed enough to do much beond that.
Any advice?

Satellite T130-02F - Display Driver Error

Hi There,
I just purchased the Satellite T130-02F and after choosing 32bit running system I had the power connected to charge battery up and then started to get "display driver errors" where the screen would flash black and then flash back on. I've checked device manager and driver details, the drive is upto date and as far as I can see is the correct driver. I've searched sites to see if there ar other drivers out there, but its up to date.
I haven't installed anything extra on the computer yet and find I get the error more regularly on the battery rather than power which concerns me. The computer is less than 24hrs old.
Any advice?

In your case I would try reinstalling the display driver. You can find the latest version on the Toshiba website:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
After this make sure that the newest BIOS version is installed. You can download it on the Toshiba website too.
If nothing works your only chance is an authorized service provider. It seems to be a hardware problem and must be checked from professional people.

Satellite L300 - Which WLAN driver I need to use?

I reformatted the drive and installed Win XP Professional and updated the BIOS. The Realtek 8187b Wlan driver is not recognised in the device properties. There seem to be three different brands of drivers listed but do not know which one is te correct one.
I made sure the WiFi switch is on. (Fn + F8 does not work).
Any help appreciated.

Youre right that there are different drivers listed but if you have a Realtek WLAN card you have to download the Realtek RTL8187B Wireless LAN Driver

Lexmark printer driver error

Im having issues with connecting my mac to a Lexmark P4350 printer. I connected and it worked for a while and then stopped. Now it consistantly is in pause mode and an error message that its unable to use the legacy class driver.
How can I resolve this? I tried to uninstall the printer driver but I recieved an error message to say this was unssupported. So i deleted all signs of Lexmark on the printer and then reinstalled without success.
Any helpful comments are appreciated!

Photosmart C4480 Printer Driver Errors

I have two problems:
1) Some files with complex images print OK in PDF, but on the C4480 have either a large black box on part of the image, or part of the image duplicated further down the page instead of the correct part
2) I cannot print some characters from MS Word Formulae. These are [ ] { }
Is this a driver error? Is there a fix?

I am very frustrated with my HP printers right now.
1) I have an HP Photosmart C4480 that has new ink and over 20 times has asked me to print alignment page, scan page and then still doesn't work! The ink doesn't print my documents well at all, I can't even read them unless its an alignment page!
2) I have a color HP 8500a and this printer also doesn't work except to eat all my paper and then spits out nothing. I am slammed and my two HP printers are on the brink!!! Why isn't there a phone number where an actual customer service person can be spoken with? I have time lines, am a small company and cant' belive how much I pay for my ink and printers only to have been struggling for weeks. What is up?

Unable to load HP printer driver-Error message!

Just wondering if anyone can be of any assistance.
I recently purchased a HP Photosmart 2575 all-in-one printer and installed the necessary software, which said it was successfully installed. However, whenever I boot up the G3 I keep getting the following message 'Unable to load the printer drive, open the applications Get Info dialog and increase the preferred memory size. If this does not help try quitting all other applications or reinstalling the printer software.'
After clicking ok on this message about four times the message goes and I am able to print fine. Just wondering why this is happening. I have increased the memory allocation and also turnt on the virtual memory to see if this makes any difference, but all to no avail. I have also uninstalled and then reinstalled the software to see if this makes a difference, but that didn't help either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS: The printer is connected via ethernet on my router to enable me to print from another machine

Use Techtool Lite or Trash*Desktop (TD may delete Finder comments )to rebuild your desktop w/extensions off. Does a better job than manually & you avoid all the finger gymnatics. You just have to hold down the shift key to shut off extensions.
Restart to turn the extensions back on again.

The Hardware Test detected a RAM problem. Take out the chips and make certain that the connections are clean and reinstall them. Make certain that they are well seated.
If the problem occurs again, test with one chip at a time. Also swap bays if necessary.
Please indicate if you have installed new RAM and if so what brand and the specifications.

Help with printer driver error message after Yosemite upgrade

Hi, I have a MacBook Air and just upgraded to OS X Yosemite Version 10.10. Following the upgrade, I am not longer able to print wirelessly at university. When I tried to reinstall the printer drivers, I got the following error message "The file /Volumes/InstallLibraryPrinter/.drivers/bizhub_C364_101.pkg does not exist". I do have access to IT support, but they were stumped by this error too. Do you have any suggestions for how to fix this, so that I can print again? Thank you for your assistance.

Problem installing Laserjet 4050 in Windows 7 x64, No driver in Universal Print Driver v5.0.3

I have just installed Windows 7 64Bit operating system. I have be successful in installing several other more recent HP printers in the office. However, my main "workhorse" printer is a HP Laserjet 4050 and I have downloaded the Universal Printer Driver v5.0.3 for Windows x64 - PCL 5 and PCL 6, and in both cases it does not find a suitable driver. The HP download site states these Universal Drivers will work, but I cannot get it to install.
Is there a driver that will work on the 4050 in Windows 7 X64? Thanks everyone.

You're probably getting the "Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver" error if you're trying to add the driver while adding a printer that is shared over the network. You see, HP's Universal Printer Driver (UPD) doesn't contain the PnpIDs of every printers it supports, so when you specify HP's UPD as the drivers for the network printer, if Windows can't find a match for the printer's PnpID it spits out the driver isn't compatible.
The way to overcome this is to install a "generic" printer locally, using HP's UP driver, and change the port afterwards to point to the shared printer. So, first, add a local printer (that will be using the LPT1 port - make sure no printer is attached!), and click on "Have disk(s)" to browse to and select HP's UPD. Going through the remaining steps should install a locally-attached printer named something like "HP Universal Printing PCL 5" (or "[..] PCL 6"). You'll then go in the new printer's properties, on the "Ports" tab, and click on "Add Port...". If you're installing a shared printer, you'll select "Local Port", click on "New Port..." and specify the path to the printer (e.g. \\myserver\hplaserj) as the port name. Those steps should do the trick.
Last thing: beware, though, as HP's UPD PCL 6 might not be compatible (anymore) with your LaserJet 4050, as they use a PCL XL class number/revision (class 2.1; sort of a version number of the protocol) that is higher than what your printer's firmware might support for PCL6 (should be class 2.0) I know the latest versions of HP's UPD PCL 6 doesn't work with our LJ 4000 & 4050 printers, so you might have to use the PCL5e driver for those 64-bit workstations.

Conflict Between HP Universal Print Driver 6.0 and Office 2013

Has anyone else noticed a conflict between the HP UPD v. 6.0 and Office 2013? We are running a Citrix environment with Office 2013 installed on a couple of application servers. Almost all of our printers are HP's, and we were trying to use the latest UPD (6.0) on our print server. However any time users print out of Outlook (yes people still do that) it crashes out and needs to be restarted. Printing from other applications works just fine. As a test I have tried the UPD v 5.8 and it seems to work ok. Obviously I've found a solution I was just curious if anyone else has noticed this conflict.

Satellite L300-1BW - Error code 19 on CD/DVD drive

Allo Folks, My wife's Satellite L300-1BW has lost it's DVD drive - The Hardware Manager properties gives the following error:
'Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)'
I tried uninstalling the DVD driver, then rebooting to let it re-install, but it still comes back with the same fault :-(
Any ideas anyone? ?:|

Try to remove the upper and lower filters as in this Microsoft Knowledge Base article suggested:

1) Run Regedit (Start > Run > Regedit)
2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
3) In the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key, and delete the "LowerFilters" key.
4) Reboot.
