Satellite L300 (PSLBCE) - Wireless limited or no conection

I just reinstaled my Windows, and one i finished i downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba.
All seamed fine till i wanted to connect to my router via wireless lan.
I entered the code and after a while i got a "limited or no conection" error
I tryed with my parents Laptop and it works perfect so its not the router.
Im useing WinXP SP2
I reinstaled it 3 times because of this.
i downloaded the Realtek drivers because thats what i read in the Device manager.
i cant try it on other wireless networks cuz i dont know any.

Hi,
It's a little bit complicated to say what's wrong with wireless connection. Have you checked firewall settings, adapter settings in Network Connections. By the way, once I had problem with Wifi in windows 7 due to sharing settings. Go to network connections ( As I remember, it's called like this in WinXp, i use 7). Double click on a Local Connection area adapter, choose properties, then. In properties, go to sharing and choose wireless connection (Internet connection sharing)

  • Satellite L300-17N (PSLBCE) - Wireless Card is not working

    Hello,
I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite L300 (PSLBCE) which came without any OS and dirvers. I installed WXP PRO SP2 on it and downloaded all drivers from Toshiba site. Everything was installed ok and working except the WLAN card. The WLAN card it's a Realtek RTL8187B but it's not recognized by my laptop: If I check the device manager it does not appear (it only appears 'Network Controller' with yellow mark). Then I went to Realtek website and download new drivers from there and installed again....also with these dirvers the WLAN card still not recognized.
Any idea what coud be the problem? I'm sure I downloaded the correct dirvers from Toshiba website and also from Realtek site...but none of them helped. The chipset drivers were also installed and also the latest BIOS version (my BIOS version is newer that the one on the toshiba website with the drivers for this model)
Can it be a conflict with other dirvers or with WXP PRO SP2?
    Thank you

    Hi buddy
The Satellite L300-17N does not support the Realtek RTL8187B but Intel 11a/b/g (13ch) - Golan Wlan card.
I would recommend visiting the Toshiba European WLan portal and would recommend downloading and installing the Intel WLan driver from here:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads
There you could try the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945/4965/5100/5300 driver package!!!
    I would appreciate your feedback

  • Satellite L300 - After XP installation it can't find the WiFi router

After insatlling XP SP1 and insatlling many drivers all except for WLAN works. I did install the drivers and i did install Atheros for managing my connections, but It seems not to even find the wifi router.
I'm using toshiba satellite l300 pslbce.
PS! I had the laptop running on Ubuntu berfore, worked fine.

Yes, installing SP2 is very important on newer laptops since so much changed from SP1 to SP2
Here is some info found on Wiki:
SP2 added new functionality to Windows XP, including an enhanced firewall, *improved Wi-Fi support*, such as WPA encryption compatibility, with a wizard utility, a pop-up ad blocker for Internet Explorer 6, and Bluetooth support.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_XP#Service_Pack_2
Going from SP2 to SP3 is not a big step, but since SP3 is basically a compilation of hotfixes since SP2, you should install SP3 as well for security reasons.

  • Satellite L300 BIOS update problem: "That BIOS is not for your notebook PC"

I got Satellite L300 notebook and I want to update it's BIOS (current v1.50), so I've downloaded bios update v1.60-WIN and when I run extracted PS10160M.exe file - I get a message that "That BIOS is not for your notebook PC".
    What I'm I doing wrong?
ps: that BIOS update was automatically suggested after registration on Toshiba website via serial number.
UPD: seems like autosuggestion fail: Manual search shows that 1.60-win bios update not suitable for Satellite L300 PSLBCE model. :-(

Did you download the BIOS for the PSLBCE model?
You cannot use the BIOS from other L300 models, for example PSLB0E.
If you installed Windows yourself using a generic Windows Disc, you will need to install the Value Added Package from the Toshiba website. The BIOS Update requires the TVAP package to detect the machine properly.

  • Satellite L300 - Wireless not working at all

    Hi everyone,
Im new here and my name is Jodie. My husband and I bought new laptops a couple of weeks ago, the Satellite L300.
On my husbands one the wireless just stopped working, the switch is on but no light is on. I've tried FN and F8 is says the wireless is not working. I then checked in the device manager under netwrok adapters to see if it said the same as mine and the Wireless Adapter has vanished? It's the Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Netwrok Adapter.
Can anyone help? Can't bellieve this has happened and they are only 2 weeks old :(
    Thanks Guys
    Jodie

    >Can't bellieve this has happened and they are only 2 weeks old
I understand what you mean but if you check this forum and all questions here your problem is not so complicated. You cannot even imagine which problems people have with notebooks. Sometimes I ask myself what people do with notebooks. :)
Back to your problem: Jodie if there is no way to get WLAN to work I recommend you to use most radical but most effective way to test WLAN functionality install OS again using HDD recovery image. After doing this you will have factory state and all hardware components should be installed properly.
Enable WLAN using WLAN switch, be sure WLAN is enabled with FN+F8 and scan the area.
    It must work.

  • Satellite L300-17L - don't see any wireless networks detected

    Hello all,
I just bought a Satellite L300 - 17L. All drivers seem to work except for the wireless card.
First, I installed the driver pointed by this site but I discovered that the card is actually an Intel Pro 3945 card, not Realtek as specified in the driver section.
Now I installed the driver for the INTEL PRO 3945ABG, version 11.5.1.15 and also the PRO Set utility, and I don't see any wireless networks detected.
I have a colleague that sees many networks using the same adapter but on a other Laptop.
I also tested the switch on the Laptop and it is on.
Did you experience this kind of problems on your system ? Please help me because I am really sad because of this issue.
    Thanks & Best regards
    Valentin

    Hi
As far as I know this notebook was equipped with the Intel 11a/b/g WLan card.
You should firstly check if the WLan router and the WLan card use the same WLan standard.
In the WLan card properties (in device manger) you could check this settings choosing Advanced tab.
I would also recommend checking if the WLan was enabled properly

  • Satellite L300-17L PSLBCE

I recently inquired on where to get support and drivers for this newly bought laptop and was correctly directed. Thanks.
    The problem I have is that when I try to install some of the utilities that I got for this laptop I get an error message of a missing module. I dont know where to find it. For instance, the Power Saver that I downloaded doesn't even install. When I start to install I get the following message;
A fatal error has occured. This program will be terminated. Code: 0x2
I get this message despite formatting my computer several times. What could be the problem?
    Please help.

    Satellite L300-17L
When you look up the Toshiba drivers and utilities here, you'll need to look up the Satellite L300 with Short Model No. PSLBCE.
when I try to install some of the utilities that I got for this laptop I get an error message of a missing module.
Tell us at least what version of Windows you use. That laptop apparently starts life with none.

  • How to Install Win Vista -English Version on my Toshiba Satellite L300-2CZ

    Hello !
I am an Indian, I purchased *"Toshiba Satellite L300-2CZ"* in France. I don't know French Language. I am an software guy.
One my family friend purchased it in on-line in 2009. It is good configuration but Bad-luck for me is, it contains *French keyboard and French Windows Vista*.
Anybody know how to solve this problem?
I am facing lot of problems while while writing software code by using this Frech keyboard because we use English- Qwerty keyboard.
*And Is it possible to install Toshiba's Windows-Vista -English version on it.*
I installed generic Win-Vista home edition on it , it is working but there is lot drivers missing, So I am not able to use my Laptop at minimum.
*Could you give me some information/suggestion to solve my problem.*
    Thank you,

It's not a problem to dowload all drivers needed either from Toshiba support sites or other good places.
You need at least Chipset+Audio+Video+Network+Wireless drivers and (maybe) some additional like Touchpad, Quick buttons, Bluetooth, Web camera.
In rare cases you can google drivers for unknown device (or just recognise it) through vendor/product IDs in device manager (VID_xxxx&PID_yyyy string in device properties).
Problem with keyboard is simple (in most cases): buy keyboard stickers like this
    http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=english+Keyboard+STICKERS
It's not perfect solution but very cheap'n'fast.
Alternative solutions are laser engraved letters on your keyboard or new english keyboard from Toshiba service (I can't even imagine its price).
Guess you can't install *Toshiba's* Vista other than bundled with your laptop. But you can buy any boxed version of Windows meets your requirements, even Windows 7. There is no difference between *Toshiba's* and boxed version of Windows exept license limits, so I advise you to think about boxed Win7.

  • Since I installed a printer software Satellite L300 has stopped working

    Hello there!
I'm new here so not really sure if I'm posting in the right place. Mods, please feel free to move to the relevant section, thank you.
OK I have a Toshiba Satellite L300 Laptop and ever since I installed a printer software on Wednesday night, my laptop has suddenly stopped working!
Ever since Thursday night, I have been trying to get it working but I'm faced with this message:
when i load it up it goes to Windows error recovery:
'windows has failed to start.a recent hardware or software change might be the cause
if windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, startup repair can help diagnose and fix the problem.if power was interrupted during startup, choose start windows normally'
then it gives two options: Launch startup repair (recomended)
    start windows normally
    ==========
-so i click launch startup repair (reccomended)
-then a scren loads up called 'system recovery options'.. it says: select an operating system to repair and click next.only windows vista operating systems are listed and can be repaired
if you do not see your operating system listed, click load drivers to load drivers for your hard disks'.....
but nothing comes up so i click load drivers and it just gives me loads of random folders...and i haven't a clue which ones to load
    ========
    5 years ago Report Abuse
    Additional Details
    so i just click 'next'
    ========
    then i have 5 options:
    -startup repair
    -system restore
    -windows complete pc restore
    -windows memory diagnostic tool
    -command prompt
    ==========
startup repair says it cannot manually fix any problems
-system restore just says your computer is in a limited state and performing this action cannot be changed...but there is no option to do so
-windows comple pc restore says i need to insert a backup disk which I dont have
windows memory diagnostics tool says that windows is preventing this
    ============
but on the system resotre it tells me to type something like: rstrui.exe /OFFLINE:C:\Windows
but i don't know where...i typed it in the command prompt but don't understand how to use it
    =========
i also tried to click start windows normally but it won't work

If the problem is installed software, start notebook in safe mode and try to start system restore from there.
Please let me know which options are available. Can you roll back OS few days back?
Are some restore points listed there?

  • Unable to autoconnect to Wifi network after installing Windows update 8.1 - Toshiba Satellite - Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG-netwerkverbinding

Hello, got a problem connecting to my wifi: every time I start up my Laptop (5 year old Toshiba Satellite L300) the wificonnections are listed but windows is unable to connect to the WIFI. Wificonnection states unable to connect, after running Windows Network
Control the issue is found en the WIFI connects correctly.
I need to run the troubleshooter every time after staring up windows in order to get my wifi running, this is rather annoying..
Does anybody have a solution? I downloaded and installed the latest driver from intel, and also tried to enter below without any improvement.
netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)
netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)
     see below error report:

    Hi,
With the google translate, It seems that you are facing with the following problem:
A network cable is not connected correctly or may be damaged
Problem with wireless adapter or access point
For this issue, I suggest you try the following steps:
Try with another account, or test with another system, another cable.
    Reinstall network adapter.
Open  Device Manager then Network Adaptors, find the wireless NIC and choose properties then open the power management tab and uncheck the one that says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
Test this issue in safe mode with networking
Windows Startup Settings (including safe mode)
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode
Does this work? and I would be appreciate if you could update the diagnostics with English.

  • I need to identify my Satellite L300-10Q in order to upgrade it

    Hello,
I have an aging Satellite laptop I was considering to upgrade. Unfortunately I can't find reliable information about it. I tried to find the model in different Toshiba european websites using the automatic search, the serial number and the manual searching to no avail.
My model doesn't appear in the support sections nor the discontinued products sections, although I cand find pretty older models in the latter.
These are the model, part number and serial numbers I have:
    Model: Satellite L300-10Q
    Part Number: PSLB0E-00901VCE
    Serial Number: 38212076Q
The "closest" model I've found is the "Satellite Pro L300-10P" in the Spanish website
    http://www.toshiba.es/discontinued-products/satellite-pro-l300-10p/
It has the same hardware specifications than my laptop, the only difference I found in the description is the OS version. It seems that this model is limited to 2Gb of RAM at max (already preinstalled).
Do you think that my device could have that same limitation? Is there any other site to look for my laptop specifications?
I mean, a reliable one (I can find my model using Google, but the results are all prehistoric advertisements of vendors that copypasted the (who knows its origin) same information.
Also, is it possible to replace the original HDD with a SSD? I think the interface is SATA (150 MB/s), maybe it's not worth it.
Thank you in advance... and excuse my poor writing skills in english.
    Regards

    > Do you think that my device could have that same limitation? Is there any other site to look for my laptop specifications?
Why you dont install some hardware diagnostic tools like Everest Home Edit or the Sandra Sisoft to get all the details about your hardware parts?
Both tools are freeware and can be downloaded from different pages.
Such tools help you to identify the built in parts and you could also get information about the hardware properties: i.e chipset, CPU, HDD controller (SATA), etc
By the way; the chipset seems to be the Mobile Intel GL960 Express Chipset and such chipset supports max 2GB RAM

  • Satellite L300 PSL8B8E - Wifi Realtek RTL8187B freezes

    Hi,
I have problem with Wifi adapter in my new laptop Toshiba Satellite L300 PSL8B8E.
I purchased it 3 days ago. I have build in WiFi adapter Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802.11b/g 54Mbps USB 2.0.
    1. I tried to reinstall Windows Vista Home Premium from scratch.
    2. I have downloaded drivers from Toshiba download site.
    3. I disabled Power saving options.
    4. Bios is the latest version
    5. I changed Wifi channels
None of this helped me to solve problem with freezing Wifi. After restart it's working for a while and then it stop communicate and nothing helps me until I restart operating system.
    Can anybody help me?
    Zoltan

    Hi all,
I have used Toshiba laptops before, but this Satellite L300 PSL8B8E (Vista 32, with Realtek RTL8187B wireless card) is the worst I have ever had.
Do not get me wrong, the machine works just fine, without wireless connection. But in this era, a laptop without wless is not worth much! Frankly, I have not had a chance to enjoy the wireless/mobility of a supposedly great toshiba, since I received it last March.
Wireless connection starts when the laptop starts, and after few minutes it simply dies. I have 3 other laptops and PCs home, all using the same wireless router (maxrange from Netgear) problem - free. Only this Satellite L300 is making my experience a nighmare.
I have tried resolving this, using every piece of advice I have been able to get, from updating Bios, firmware, drivers, OS, what have you.
My problem is I live in Palestine, a territory without Toshiba presence, and I have no way of returning this laptop to the vendor (was purchase from London).
Is there anyway to get in touch with TOshiba reps/tech geeks directly. They seem not to care to respond to similar questions, though clearly this seems to be a widespread problem (see the number of searrches and results using Google).
    Please help.

    Hi!
I think this is not a problem. Windows 7 is only a beta OS and at the moment the driver support is not so good.
Maybe you will find some drivers on the manufactures website from the WLAN card. In your case it should be Realtek.
