Satellite L300D - Webcam error messages

I'm running Vista 32bit on a Satellite L300D.
I have recurring problems with the built in Chicony webcam. Basically it frequently stops working (I only use it with Skype), giving me various error messages but most commonly "Can't start video. Try closing other programs which might be using your webcam...". A restart of my laptop usually fixes it but only temporarily.
I have downloaded the Camera Utility software and drivers from the Toshiba website but it hasn't solved the problem.
Anyone out there who can suggest a solution, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks for the replies. I uninstalled all versions of the Camera Assistant software and uninstalled the webcam driver. I then used C Cleaner to delete old registry files. I restarted the laptop. I then downloaded and installed the webcam driver for the A500, and restarted when prompted. When the laptop was back on, the webcam software was working fine, and so was Skype (as always happens after a restart). However, I'd read elsewhere online that this bug is to do with when the laptop goes to sleep, so I turned it onto sleep, and then back on again... and I get the same error message on Skype and the webcam software tells me "Web camera initialization. Please check your camera device and restart application or computer."
So, any other ideas as to what the problem might be?

I had a message that my webcam is locked by another application.
This has appeared because I started the Skype and the Skype has used the webcam while I trying to start the webcam software.
Solution was to disable the webcam software and Skype in msconfig.
Then I rebooted the notebook. Now if I want to use the webcam software I have to start the webcam software firstly. Then a webcam icon appears in the task bar and I can use the webcam without any error messages.

Satellite A300-1EB - Error message on camera software

Suddenly I am getting a error message that cant execute cec_main.exe
But when I checked this for camera assistant software please advise me how to overcome this error.

Satellite L650-1PE - Error messages in Toshiba bulletin board

I got error messages when i try to use Toshiba bulletin board, so firstly I got error 3 and then i press ok and i got error 23 which i don't know why? By the way, my laptop Satellite L650-1PE.
Also I uninstalled it and reinstall the latest version again but I got the same error messages. Please anyone can help me about it.

Error code 23 is not specific to a Toshiba Bulleting Board software.
This error is generated by Windows OS and the reason for this could be:
Windows Registry Damage or Corruption
Device Driver Conflicts
Hardware Malfunction
Virus or Spyware Infection
Software File Damage or Corruption
So as you see, its really difficult to say what cause this
You can uninstall this software, could clean the registry using CCleaner and then you could try to reinstall this software once again if the new installation does not help, then I would recommend checking new OS installation but I think its really annoying to reinstall the Toshiba image only to get this software working again but its your decision

Satellite C850 shows error message "Your Computer is low on Memory"

I recently bought a Satellite C850, windows 8 and with 4G RAM laptop. But I always have the above error message even I just browse the internet. If I ignore this message and keep using, my computer will close the program I am using, for e.g. Excel.

From my experience such error message should not appear on notebooks which are equipped with 4GB RAM. Usually this should be good enough.
However, try to extend the size of virtual memory.
- Go to Control Panel (Windows button + C -> Settings -> Control panel)
- System icon -> Advanced system settings. (on the left)
- On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.
- Click the Advanced tab, and then, under Virtual memory, click Change.
- Clear the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives check box.
- Under Drive [Volume Label], click the drive that contains the paging file you want to change.
- Click Custom size, type a new size in megabytes in the Initial size (MB) or Maximum size (MB) box, click Set, and then click OK.

Satellite Pro A300D - Error message while watching DVDs

Hi There
I have a problem with my satellite Pro A300-140 running Vista 32-bit OS
Every time I try and watch a DVD I get an error message " Unable to output the video to an external device. Please check the external output setting after ending the application "-I am not trying to connect to anything - I just want to watch a movie !
Any ideas - I did read this was a known problem but I can't re-find the information ?

You should try the new Realtek sound driver from the Realtek page:

Furthermore I recommend updating the Toshiba DVD player. It's placed on Toshiba European driver page.
Just one tip; Im using the VLC player. Its free software and very nice
It plays almost all video and audio formats google for VLC player!

Dell Studio 17 Webcam error message

My son's laptop displays the error message: Close other streaming video application when he tries to open his webcam. We can not find any other application that is running on his computer. Any HELP appreciated.

There is a good chance your webcam driver is not compatible, have you tried upgrading that driver through dell?

Satellite T110-11U - Error message when starting computer

I have a 6 month old Satellte T110-11U running a manufacturer installed OS - Windows 7. Every time I start the computer I get an error message:
There as a problem starting , C:\ users\home\AppData\local\imagusud.dll , The specified module could not be found. I can ignore the prompt, but would like to sort it out.
Does anyone known how to resolve this issue?

It looks like something would be corrupt in your user account.
Did you try to repair the OS or to clean the registry using CCleaner?
CCleaner is a free tool which cleans the registry and removes garbage from the HDD.
Try this.
Otherwise you can check the msconfig -> Startup tab.
There you should search for some entries containing the imagusud.dll file and could disable or remove this

Satellite Pro L - Error message when I try to play a music CD

When I try to play a music CD I get this error message >

It plays on my old XP 32 bit desktop but will not play on the Windows 7 64 bit laptop.
The CD is not a commercially made one but it is of importance to me.
Any ideas please?

When the CD is loaded and I go to play it via computer it shows a dead icon and it is not recognised.
Usually the icon shows details of the disc to be played but in this case it doesnt, when I right click to choose a player there are none available to choose from.

Satellite Pro A300 - error message box: Pwdbank - Abstract Error

Pro A300 notebook continually popped up error message box: Pwdbank - Abstract Error. Must kill pwdbank process to stop it.
Does anyone know what's the problem and how to fix it?

As far as I know the pwdbank.exe is a part of TrueSuite.
If you dont use fingerprint or this tool you can disable the automatic loading of this file.
Otherwise if you need this you should check the Toshiba website for an update:

Hi, I have just done a clean installation of Vista Ultimate (R) x32 on my A300-211 and when I get to VAP installation this well known error message pops up. I haven't found an elegant solution about this. Any thoughts on fixing it? (clean Installation, x86, VAP 1.1.19 x32 etc.)

I found an Microsoft knowledge base article containing this error:
+Windows 7 displays "Windows is not Genuine" with an error code of 0x80070005+

It looks like this appears because MS detected not genuine Windows OS.
There is also another knowledge base article
+Error 0x80070005 when you try to install updates by using Microsoft Update or Windows Update+

The reason for that is that you don't have the appropriate permissions to install a particular update
Check the following solution in this MS knowledge base article.

Satellite X200-191 - Error message with new BIOS

I have a Satellite X200-191 whit BIOS 2.70 on it when I wont to install Configfree than I get the messege that my laptop is not a Toshiba. And I got the program that you can install from Toshiba that downloads the drivers of your laptop that is not a Toshiba. But when I load the old BIOS 2.50 every thing is good no message that it is not a Toshiba laptop nothing white the same drivers. Is there somthing whit the BIOS update?
It doesn't happen when you update the BIOS from 2.50 to 2.70 only when you have 2.70 and do a clean install of Windows 7 64bit

How you have installed the old BIOS? Older BIOS versions are not available on Toshiba website and downgrade can only be done from an authorized service provider because special BIOS update program is necessary.
Satellite X200-191 belongs to PSPB9E series so have you downloaded the update for this model or other model (PSPBUE) that would be wrong?
I read about similar messages here in forum and the reason was a replaced mainboard and the ASP did forget to write the DMI information. Did you exchange the mainboard?

Satellite L300D - recovery error BSOD+imagex.exe application error

My Laptop lost function a while ago due to some unknown errors. I managed to get most of the data out through safemode and have transfered them to my desktop.
The problem I am having now is repairing my laptop. I have since lost my receipt and therefore unable to claim warranty; but I figured I could restore my computer to its factory state with the recovery disk I created. As you can see from that thread, the recovery disk didn't work. So based on the advice I received I went to a Toshiba authorised computer repairs centre today and they replaced my Hard Disk Drive with a Fujitsu SATA 120GB. I then attempted to use the recovery disk but ran into a few hiccups. 1) A BSOD comes up randomly during the restoration i.e. During image copying it would pop up... sometimes it would pop up when it is finalising the recovery. 2) Sometimes, the BSOD will be bipassed and instead, an error would come up at 3% of installation finalising saying that img could not be copied from HDD to C/:! 3)Sometimes an image.exe application error would come up saying 'The instruction at 0x77c45a20 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be written. Click on OK to terminate the programme.'
NOTE: None of the these problems occur in the same recovery trial. But they DO come up randomly and when they do, I have to restart the computer and try again.
My question is this. Since the last piece of advice was to replace my faulty HDD, and I have done so, why am I still unable to repair my computer? And if it is not the matter of HDD, then what is the problem here? I am desperate in fixing my laptop as it is meant to be my 14 year old desktop replacement. Thank you all for your kind attention; I only hope that there is someone out there who has faced and overcome such a problem before.

Its not easy to say what the reason is for this. It could be a faulty RAM, mainboard or maybe the HDD again. So it could be bad luck that the new HDD is also faulty
I think you should test something on your notebook with special diagnostic tools.

With the Drive Fitness Test you can test your HDD. Download the CD image, burn it on a CD and boot from it. Then you can test the HDD.
On the same website is a user guide if you want to know more.

Memtest86 is a diagnostic tool to check the RAM. There you can also download a CD image.
Its easy to use. Run the test 3-4 hours and then you will see if the RAM has some errors.
After this post your result. Maybe one the tests can find an error.
If not you should try it with a Microsoft installation disk. Maybe the recovery disk is scratchy or so
In you cant find something you should go to the ASP again. Speak with the technicians and explain the situation. I think they will try to help you as fast as possible.

Satellite M115-S3094: Error message - Can't create a D3D device

Hi,
I accidently deleted a graphics card driver but managed to get it back, but before i deleted it i used to play the game pkr (3d poker) but now when i load it, it comes up with an error saying "Could not initialize client - Can't create a D3D device - -2005530516, -".
Also all my folders on my desktop don't appear. The only way i can get this up on screen is by pressing the keys ctrl + alt and delete and then typing in desktop.
All this started to happen when i tried to connect my laptop to the television.
I am using Windows XP media center. It's a a Toshiba Satellite M115-s3094.
Can anyone please help as it's driving me mad as i am very close to smashing the laptop in frustration.
I don't know the driver its using as all it says is unknown. If anyone can help or even give me an idea on how to fix this then i would be very grateful.

Sounds a little bit like the Direct3D were not enabled in you graphic settings.
Please start the DirectX using the command dxdiag and enable all 3D settings.
Furthermore it would be advisable to remove the installed 3D poker game and then to reinstall it again. This should help to reconfigure the game graphic settings which are necessary to run the game properly.
