Satellite L305D-S5895 WLAN driver for Win XP

Hi,
i got a new Satellite L305D-S5895 and downgrade to Win XP for software requirements.
The sistem can't recognize the Wireless LAN adapter, and I got tree unrecognized devices in device manager:
SM bus controller, Ethernet controller (but in a fact I'm ethernet conected now) and modem device.
How can I install de WLAN driver?

Ethernet controller means two devices; LAN or WLan. If LAN card is recognized then the Ethernet controller can be only a WLan card.
I dont know what WLan card this notebook supports but you could install an hardware diagnostic software like Everest home edition and could find out what Wlan card is installed. Then visit the WLan card manufacture webpage and download the driver.
Mode device -> you could try to install dome modem drivers published for other notebook series. Maybe it will work
SM bus controller -> I presume this is a card reader. The same procedure like with modem device. Check some drivers published in other series
By the way; This is a US notebook model so you have to search on Toshiba US page

I have Satellite P850 - I renewed my Kaspersky Internet Security and did Windows update for 8.1 64bit. Now I have no Wireless LAN driver. I can only connect to internet with ethernet cable.
I have searched high and low for 2 days looking for a solution. I want to keep everything Toshiba authentic so not wanting to stray to other dodgy diagnostic sites. Toshiba only has Realtek WLAN for Windows 8 version 2.00.0020 available for download - which is already installed on my computer but it is not working - I did reinstall to see if that fixed the problem but no.

Satellite A100-924: Hotkeys driver for Win 7 needed

Hello,
I installed Windows Vista on my Pc Satellite A100-924, where can I find drivers for hotkeys?
On Toshiba site I find only the ones for XP, but.... on my PC that I bought about 3 years ago, there is a sticker on the case that says that this computer is Windows Vista capable.
Is possible that Toshiba has not released a drivers that work with Vista?

Im afraid there is no further utility to get the FN buttons working. The VAP is the only one package which controls this setting under Vista and Win 7.
I remember that the Flash Cards utility (part of VAP) controls the FN buttons.
Please check if the Flash Card Utility is enabled in Programs -> Toshiba -> Flash Cards utility

i reinstalled my Windows, because my old hard-drive was damaged. Now I have Windows 7 x64.
By installing the hardware drivers from the Toshiba homepage I had a problem with the W-Lan driver.
It has an Atheros W-Lan Adapter, but the driver doesn't works. After extracting it the window closes and the installation doesn't begins.
What can I do?

What notebook do you have exactly?
Are you sure that the notebook supports Atheros Wlan card?

I bought a Toshiba Satellite l305d s5895, with winXP, because I need software, but the function keys doesn't works.
So I need a driver, but i can't find it, and the internet wireless doesn't work.

In my opinion there is problem because most threads here are about European notebook models. so then come question from US. Toshiba Europe and Toshiba US don't work together and every of them is responsible for own models and offer support for country specific notebook models.
So here in Europe Toshiba has for most models offered two BIOSes. One was already on the Vista delivered notebooks. On download page Toshiba has offered BIOS for WXP. in most cases it was version 5.xx and this BIOS was designed to support Toshiba specific tools and utilities. For example, full FN keys functionality was available with this WXP BIOS only.

Satellite C850-108 - WLan card driver for Win 7

I have a Toshiba Satellite C850-108 and recently it just completely crashed.
Being stupid i never got chance to create a recovery disc etc for it.
I have a friend that sent me a disc to help reinstall windows 7.
However when i did this i lost all drivers and had to completely reinstall them as Iv been finding out which ones i need.
One big problem i have had is that when i install the driver for network controller it just refuses to install saying there is no network driver detected.
I have tried going to devices and yellow exclamation etc but still doesnt find anything.
I have download numerous drivers from Toshiba to try correct this but still have the same problem. I can only connect to the internet via an Ethernet.
It is as if I do not even have a Wirless card.
Im very puzzled and frustrated with this if anyone can help i would very much appreciate this.
P.s i installed using 32bit but when i check my serial number it states that it is 64 bit. Could this be part if the cause?.

As Im not mistaken the Satellite C850-108 supports the Realtek RTL8188CE WLan card.
So you need to install the Realtek WLan driver for the RTL8188CE chip.
You should be able to download the driver directly from Realtek page:

Satellite L305D S5895: Win 7 can't find HDD or can't format HDD on clean install

I have a customer's Satellite L305D S5895 laptop. This was shipped to me by the customer who tried to install Windows XP Pro, Vista and none would install.
He said he tried all installation CDs he had and finally gave up on it and shipped it to me.
When I got it the partition were deleted so I tried to install Win 7 and when I do doing a custom install I get an error saying the hard drive can't be formatted on disk 0 or it will give an error that no hard drives were found.
I reset the bios to default and no matter what I do it won't format or find the harddrive. I was going to upgrade the bios but the only way I found to upgrade the bios is after windows is installed.
Anyone got any ideas on this laptop so I can get a system installed. I checked the bios and there is no settings for a sata drive, raid drive or IDE drive so it looks like this version can't be changed.

The upgrade instructions do not help, I am not doing a upgrade but a clean install and the Toshiba Software Installer for Windows 7 doesn't look like it will work because it is an .exe file and with no operating system I don't see how it can run but I can't find instructions on how to use the installer
I've tried running tests on the drive to see if it is bad or going bad but after trying about 4 different programs and all having the same results I think the drive may be bad.
All diag programs I've tried boot the computer and show "STARTING PC DOS" and they all stop at that point which I guess is an indication the drive is bad because they can't seem to find it, not sure just guessing as to why all stop at this point.
I've tried SeaTools and Hitachi Drive Fitness Test and a few others only to have them all stop at "STARTING PC DOS"

Satellite P70-A-104 - cannot find webcam driver for Win 8.1

Hello,
I have installed a 2nd hard disk with Win 8 Pro 8.1.
I also have downloaded all available drivers for my model P70-A-104, but there is no driver available for the built-in Toshiba WebCam FHD. I have also checked other Toshiba models with 2 MBit FHD Camera.
Is there anyone who knows where to download the correct driver? I know there a some tools for driver updates (25 - 30 US$) but they don't display the missing web cam driver.

As far as I know there is no webcam driver for Win and no webcam driver for Win 8.1 because the notebooks webcam module is controlled by internal Microsoft driver provided with Win 8 / Win 8.1
Question: do you have any yellow exclamation marks in device manager? I guess the webcam is listed there...

Here's the low down, and instructions for ordering the Toshiba Recovery disks, which I would highly recommend doing, to prevent this kind of grief:

Don't want to do that? Can't wait or be bothered? First, download both these driver files to your desktop:
ATI Display Driver for Windows Vista (32/64bit)
Realtek Audio Driver for Windows Vista (32/64bit)
To begin with, try this WITHOUT uninstalling any sound drivers. First, install the the ATI Display Driver. You have an AMD processor and chipset, and the ATI (now AMD) Display driver will also install the chipset drivers. I think that not reinstalling this first, is part of your problem. If it wants to reboot, let it.
Then, install the Realtek audio driver. If everything installs, and looks OK in Device Manager, test all your sound.
If this doesn't install properly, then go back into Device Manager and uninstall the sound drivers again. Then, follow this procedure to make sure that the sound drivers are completely uninstalled.
To completely uninstall a driver in Vista see here, I'd stick with Method 1, especially if you've never edited the registry before:

Then, install the the ATI Display Driver again. If it wants to reboot, let it.
Again, if you have to reboot, when Windows 'discovers' your sound card again on start-up, just click 'Cancel' or click the red X, do NOT try to load the sound driver here. Then, when you have returned to the desktop, reinstall the Realtek Audio driver, if necessary, reboot again. Test your sound.
Even if this works, I would still strongly advise you to bite the bullet and order the Toshiba Recovery Disks.

Satellite C855-27L - missing Wecamdriver for Win 8.1

After updating the system to Win 8.1 the build in Webcam is not listed in the hardware and doesnt work anymore.
On the driver/update site there is only for win 7 a driver for the cam... is there a fix to let work the cam on win 8.1 or where can I get a correct driver for win 8.1?????

Generally speaking webcam driver for Win8/Win8.1 doesn't exist and device uses Windows drivers. Thats the reason why you cannot find it on Toshiba download page.

ODBC driver for Win Server 2008 64-bit.

I need help with installing the ODBC driver for Win 2008 64-bit. I'm not really familiar with Oracle products but anyway I was asked to install the driver. I downloaded Oracle 11g ODAC 11.1.0.7.20 which includes the Oracle ODBC Driver 11.1.0.7.0 from this link http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/windows/odpnet/index.html. I only needed the ODBC driver so that's what I selected during installation (plus one other required component). The installation was successful but when I go into ODBC admin to add a new data source I don't see the Oracle driver. I probably downloaded the wrong software. Can someone point me to the right direction? Thanks.
