Satellite L40-14N: Does WLan support WPA PSK encryption security

Could someone please help?
Does the satellite L40-14N Wireless LAN Card support WPA PSK encryption security?
Thank you.

What WLan card was installed in your notebook?
You can check this in the device manager.
Then simply Google for this WLan card or visit the WLan card manufacture info site!
Simply ;)

  • Does WiFi adapter supports WPA-PSK encryption on Equium A100-147?

I've decided to buy an Equium A100-147, but I'd like confirmation that the WiFi adapter supports WPA-PSK encryption. I can't find any confirmation anywhere. My guess is that it does, as it's a recent machine, but I'd like to be sure.
    Thanks once again.

    Hi
Im not 100% sure what WLan card was installed on this unit but I think it could be a Intel Wireless 3945ABG card.
The Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG card supports WPA, WPA2, WPA-PSK encryption. I have found this info on the Intel site. You should also check it.
But as I said above, Im not 100% sure about the Wlan card. In my knowledge many notebook series are delivered with different hardware configuration. That means that different Wlan cards can be used in notebook.

  • Aquiring IP-Address on Satellite L40-14N over WLAN

    Hi,
after managing to enable my WiFi adapter on my Satellite L40-14N I encounter the next problem ... it seem's like I'm not getting an ip-address from my router. I can see my router, and Vista tells me, that I'm connected (kinda), but I don't get an ip-address. All I get is limited connectivity, and the adapter is being some ip-address assigned (I assume from the auto-config feature of windows).
Has anyone any clue, on why this would be?

Well, I should have noted that I already have another computer as well as a PocketPC running, who can access my WLAN router just fine (the other machine is running Windows XP SP2, and the PDA is running Windows Mobile 6.0). So my network is setup fine. Using the ethernet-adapter everything also works fine! Just using the WLAN adapter on the Toshiba doesn't seem to work.
After swithching on WLAN an the Toshiba I can see my network ESSID and I can choose connect to the network. After a while I get a notice with something like "limited connectivity" (I have a german version of Windows XP :)) ). Looking at my router no IP-address has been issued to the Toshiba, although the computer is listed in the WLAN-device list of my router (so the made "contact").
BTW: my router is running a DHCP-Server :)

  • I have a 3rd generation iPod Touch and just did the update to IOS 5. Now I can't connect to my Netgear wifi router. My iPhone connects fine along with all of my other laptops etc. I have the router set with WPA-PSK [TKIP] security and an access list.

I have a 3rd generation iPod Touch and just did the update to IOS 5. Now I can't connect to my Netgear wifi router. My iPhone connects fine along with all of my other laptops etc. I have the router set with WPA-PSK [TKIP] security and an access list. I've confirmed the mac address is included on that list and that the password is correct. Under choses netwrok I select the network and it just goes into a spin. I have tried removing the password and the access list settings and it still will not complete the connection to the router thus no internet access. The routers firmware is also up to date. This thing worked fine before this update and I've already tried to restore from backup. Any ideas or is the wifi nic bad in this thing with the new apple firmware update? Any fix?

Thanks Bob, I don't know why but it all of a sudden worked a few days later. It's a mystery but at least problem solved.

  • The network does not support the requested encryption method

Prior to last night, I had connected to several wireless networks without issue, so I know my computer can do it. The issue started after I reinstalled the operating system. I connected to my friends wireless network last night with no problems, using the password. My system was having other unrelated problems so I decided to reinstall the operating system since the computer had just had a new hard drive put in anyway. Then when I tried to get online after everything was up and running, I couldn't.
Wireless networks show up fine, but when I go to log in, enter the password and hit connect, after a second I get the error message : "The network "name" does not support the requested encryption method". I've scoured the help topics, searched high and low, and tried everything. Please help

After you reinstalled the OS, you may need to download install any Airport Updates as well.

  • N91 Podcast client over WLAN with WPA-PSK - downlo...

    Hi all,
I'm using a N91 (2.20.008) and the Nokia Podcast Client (1.00.3) to download podcasts via my home network (router Zyxel P-2602HW-D1A). N91 can fine see my network but the connection is unreliable on the N91. I have several laptops and it works fine for them.
What happens is that the podcast client will start to update all podcasts, but nothing happens all the small "circles" just hang. If I try to download one podcast it will sometimes work, but mostly the Podcast client will only download 2% and then hang. Each time I have to drop the WLAN connection and reestablish it to get the next 2%.
So for me it seems that the client waits and waits for something that doesn't happen or some weird loop is taking place.
Is there any fix for this?
    N91: 2.20.008
    Nokia Podcast Client: 1.00.3
    Router: Zyxel P-2602HW-D1A
    WLAN Encryption: WPA-PSK

    Ivan,
Ok, that makes sense. So yes, as far as I know, the logs are not super helpful when it comes to MAC filtering pass/fail, but you will find generic messages related to MAC filter events. Filtering for MAC is a layer 2 association-level event, so if a client does not pass, you will see an SNMP log message like:
Sun Mar 18 20:23:52 2012          Client Association Failure: MACAddress: Base Radio MAC: Slot: 0 User Name:unknown IP Addr: unknown Reason:Unspecified ReasonCode: 1
If they pass, then you will see:
Sun Mar 18 20:29:05 2012          Client Association: Client MAC: Base Radio MAC : Slot: 0 User Name:unknown IP Addr: unknown
If you are not seeing these messages, make sure you have SNMP trap controls turned on for Client association and association failure events:
I have done some more testing today and I am not running into the issues that you are seeing. In my setup, named clients can associate and unlisted clients are failing to associate. At this point I would recommend that you try upgrading your code to 7.0.220.0 or higher. My testing was done on 7.0.220.0.

  • Does Mozilla support 128-bit encryption?

To use IRS Business Services Online (http://www.socialsecurity.gov/employer/bsohbnew.htm), 128-bit encryption is needed. They say:
"To determine whether your browser supports 128-bit encryption, select Help/About from your browser menu. Most browsers will display the phrase ?128-bit encryption? or "128-bit cipher strength.? If you are unsure whether your browser supports 128-bit encryption, contact the software company that developed the browser."
But I can't seem to find this information on the about page or in online articles about encryption. Would you please help?

Current Firefox releases can't even go below 128 bit, SSL2 that supported this have been removed quite a few releases now (Firefox 8 dropped support for SSL2).
128 bit is the minimum that you can use with Firefox and you can only go higher (e.g. 168 or 256).<br />
128 bit shouldn't be used these days and servers that only support 128 bit should update their software.
Firefox supports AES-256 since 2002, so that is already more than 10 years.

  • WLAN with WPA-PSK on E61

    Hi,
when I try to connect my E61 to my wireless home network, I get prompted for the WPA key and it works fine. But the key doesn't seem to be saved bc the next time around I am again prompted to enter it. It's a 64 digit key. Is there maybe a certain limit to the number of characters up to which a key can be saved?

    Hi,
slight correction: It doesn't work at all! I enter the key, but when I leave that particular submenu with "Back" and go in again, the field where the PSK should be is blank again and when I click "Web", the phone automatically tries to connect, but tells me "invalid key" after a while.

  • Satellite L40-14N won't start up if i install two 2GB RAM modules

Computer won't start up if i install two two gb ram modules, can i install vista 64 on this computer to overcome this problem, have upgraded bios.or is there something else i can do.it also wont work if i put a 2 and a 1 gb ram in.
    Any help would be apprecated
    mansy

No, Vista 64Bit won't solve your problem. The fact is, that this notebook model only supports a maximum of 2GB Ram in total. So, you can only use one of your 2GB memory module.
If you do so, notebook will boot up again.

  • Does Firefox support 128 bit encryption, as required on certain financial sites?

Some financial sites and credit card sites require 128 bit technology on the browser. Does Firefox use this or will I have to resort to using I.E?

Firefox supports up to 256 bit encryption.

  • Does iPhone support UEA0 in UMTS security?

This question needs a professional engineer's answer on 3GPP UMTS and iPhone.
We are meeting security issue on iPhone, Our femtocell only support no encryption(UEA0) in uu interface, We have found iPhone indicate it support UEA0 and UEA1 in RRC setup complete message, but if we use UEA0, iPhone just disconnect the connection after we send RRC security mode command.
    We need help!

I solve my doubt. The problem resides in the "until" param. It seems that iPhone/iPad can't interpret correctly an until param greater than 2069. I admint that this problem is very particular, this case is not common.

  • WPA-PSK TKIP

    Does iPhone support WPA-PSK authentication?
If so, does it support TKIP encryption?
I'm having a heck of a time trying to set up my work network on the iPhone, though my MacBook Pro handles it just fine.
    Thanks in advance.

i have not seen support for WPA-PSK TKIP if your
router and other devices support WEP 128bit
encription use that... anything other then 128bit
will not work.. took 2 hours of fussing to figure it
    out
    MacBook Pro 15inch
    Mac OS X (10.4.10)
    That is incorrect.
I am running WPA and WPA2 (both on Apple wireless base stations), and was able to connect to both. The WPA one uses TKIP.
Make sure you do not have the new ExtremeN if set to "N-only". It will not connect in that case, whether you are using 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. In fact, it will probably never even see the AP in that case.
