Satellite L40 with no Wi-Fi after Update of Vista

Hey there,
i got a Toshiba Satellite L40-137 and installed the Service Pack 1 of Vista.
And now my WLan/Wifi is just deactivated with no information which driver I need or something..
Well, it seems like this is a common issue because i googled lots of similar questions but found no proper answer.
Some Facts:
1) The little lamp at the bottom of the keyboard doesnt work
2) the connectivity doctor just tells me wifi is "deactivated"
3) fn+f8 does absolute nothing
In case you got any workaround I'd be pretty thankful! :)

That means this happened after Service Pack 1 installation on Windows Vista?!
Well, in my opinion you can solve it with driver reinstallation. Just follow the link posted by Mike30 and download the latest version. This should work.

I have a toshiba notebook with a view, I got the bright idea to do an update since a long time that was not updated at the end. I restarted the update as required nb. and then nothing!

Hmm you mean you cannot see anything? Neither the red Toshiba Splash Screen?
What to say sounds not good.
But try this short workaround:
Disconnect the AC adaptor, remove the battery. Leave the notebook for some time disconnected from both parts I would wait some hours
Then connect both parts and try to power up

I am using a Vista PC with iTunes10.5. After updating my 3gs to iOS 5.0 I am not able to sync the phone. iTunes recognizes my iphone and then stays syncing at the backup stage....I deleted all my apps on the phone and deleted previous backups and tried syncing again, but in vain. I am clueless....

I just plugged it into my netbook and its Restoring it on there so thanks, I know I will lose what I never had backed up but just be happy if it works. Fingers crossed this fixes it.
Edit: It didnt work, come up with iTunes isnt connected to the internet then the restore fails

It should. It will only respond if there's something on the card for it to respond to, so do you have pics on the card?
And if it's messing up; try giving the iPad a restart. Hold down the sleep and home keys, past when you see hte red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again. That can clear up any glitches on the device itself.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Satellite L40 (PSL48E) - Doesn't reboot after BIOS update

Hi,
My problem is that I update the BIOS and after that the machine does not restart. ( BIOS corrupt ? )
After the BIOS update (Satellite L40 PSL48E) the machine reboot and with the F2 key I open the BIOS setup.
I check the BIOS version ( 5.50 ) and exit the BIOS setup.The machine must be reboot now.....
No Way, the machine does not restart . No screen only the powerled lights-up.
Is there anything I can to fix it on my own like a BIOS reset ?

This is strange because after the BIOS update you could go into the BIOS.
However, try to remove the battery and AC/DC adaptor. Wait one hour and then put the battery in and connect the AC/DC adaptor. Try it again.
If it doesnt work there is something wrong with the BIOS or hardware and should be checked by a notebook technician.

Problem with printing and scanning after updating to Mavericks for my Photosmart C7180

After updating my macbook pro (mid 2009) to Mavericks, I have found that I can only scan to a jpeg2000 and cannot scan as a tiff or jpeg or anyother format. I have followed instructions on troubleshooting and have not been able to make anything work ie scanning from preview etc. I have now uninstalled all the HP software and tried to load it again but software update will not recognise that I do not have the software for my printer. What do I do now?

I understand you're having issues with scanning since you upgraded to Mavericks. I have looked into this concern for you and found that there is no downloadable driver with the full feature software (scanning software) included for the Photosmart C7180 and Mavericks.
However, there are work around options for scanning that may help and work!

Iphone 3g sync problems with itunes 9.2 after updating on another computer

Hello
I have an old mac which will not allow me to update itunes to 10.x. So I have been updating my iphone via another computer (which apple support to itunes 10.x) and my old mac has been able to see it still and therefore I have been able to backup/update it.
However after updating to ios 4.2, my old mac has not been able to sync to it and itunes tell me that I have to update to itunes 10.1 (which I cannot).
Last time I updated, I had to restore my iphone due to various problems (mainly to do with itunes 9.2 allowing me to download the unsupported ios 4.1). I didn't have to restore this time and this maybe what has caused me the problems. Does anyone know whether I can solve my problem of syncing to itunes 9.2 by restoring my iphone and reinstalling ios4.2? Or is ios 4.2 not supported by itunes 9.2 at all and now I need a new computer?

Yes, I had the same problem this time and had email communication with Apple about it when ios 4.1 came out. Apple have made it so 10.4.11 is not supported by itunes 10.1, and so stuck with itunes 9.2.1.
When I had this problem, I decided to update on another computer (as I did this last time). But I didn't have the same problems as before (requiring a restore of my iphone) which I suspect solved the problem I have now.
However, if the restore doesn't solve this, then I have an iphone without any music on it! Or any of the apps as well.

Hi, it seems there is a bug in the Nokia Music Manager after updating the PC Suite to version 7.1.26.0. The german special characters (Umlaute) like ä, ö, ü, ß are no more correctly saved or displayed in the file names and tags.

Although this reply is late. I just want to share that I have the same issue - no LTE after upgrade to 8.1.3 on my iPhone 5. No matter switch on/off iPhone or LTE option or Airplane Mode - they all didn't work....but after an upgrade to 8.2 today. I got my LTE back now after a month...not sure if it is a bug or a reset work. Good luck to anyone who looking for the resolution of same issue.

Update to 9.5.1 from the AppStore.
Sign ino the AppStore with your AppleID and check, if there is iPhoto on your Purchased tab to be accepted to your AppleID. If yes, accept it. Then check the "Updates" tab of the App Store.
If you cannot update this way, download an update from the Software update section of the Apple Support page. You need to update at least to version iPhoto 9.4.3.
What MacOS version did you upgrade from? Did your Mac come with system installation media, or did you install and update from the AppStore?

After updating my iPhone 4S to 6.0.1, the WiFi don't detect any WiFi and does not connect to any WiFi.

Me, again. A couple of weeks ago (around Christmas) my wifi stopped working and the toggle switch greyed out again. I found a solution guide from Apple, followed all the steps (which ultimately included a complete factory reset). I was able to back up all my info before hand with iTunes. I ran my phone as a new device, and the problem was still there. The wifi wouldn't work at all and the toggle on/off switch was greyed out. Finally I gave up and tried Apple support. I chatted with a rep, told them everything I saw and tried, and within 10 minutes they determined that I needed my phone replaced (my phone was new in April 2012). All I had to do was go down to the store, tell the rep there exactly what I told the one on the phone, and within 15 minutes I had a brand new phone FREE. I brought it home, plugged it in, and restored all my info (including passwords, wallpaper, app settings, EVERYTHING!!) as if I never had a problem. My wifi has been impeccable on the new phone. I still haven't determined whether it was the 1 year warranty or the Apple Care replacement plan that covered it, but either way, totally worth the trouble.

After updating the flame device photos are not saved anymore. I can see my old photos in the Gallery-list, but I can not click specific pictures anymore respectively the pictures do not appear anymore, when I click one. Are you having issues updating other applications as well? What about recording videos in the camera app?
After reading the information provided about your issue I suggest a soft reset of the phone.
#Take the back cover of the phone off.
#Take the battery out.
#Take the SIM card and microSD card out (if applicable).
#Wait 10 seconds.
#Put the SIM card and microSD card back in (if applicable).
#Put the battery back in.
#Put the back cover back on.
#Turn the device on.
#Check if the issue you were having is still present.
You may also try uninstalling and reinstalling the weather application. Please report back to us if this solved your problem!

Try some basic troubleshooting:
(A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
(B) Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
(C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings
