Satellite L450D-11G - Hangs after recovery installation

The recovery disk supplied does not work. After installing all the files, it goes into a loop from booting up with "Installing Windows for the first time, through "Please wait", to flashing up the home screen then logging off and rebooting.
Is there a fix for this?

I can really laugh when I read something like this.
Recovery procedure takes pretty long time with several restarts and it can take over one hour.
So don't worry about useless laptop.
Best thing you can do is to do something else until recovery installation will be finished.
Watch TV, read a book and let recovery procedure be done completely.

  • Satellite M70 - Black screen after recovery installation

So far what I have done is put in the Product Recovery DVD-ROM. Then when restarting my computer I was prompted to restore my computer to the factory defaults and said. After it went through that process it told me to remove the disc so I did. Now all it does is reach a black screen after the Toshiba screen that gives me the options to f2 for setup and f12 for options.
I do not know what to do now to make my laptop work again. Please help.

Satellite M70 is old notebook model and I would like to know do you use recovery disc for the first time. I had Satellite M70-159 long time ago and have installed recovery image many times.
Which installations mode you have used: standard mode or expert mode?
    Try to install it again.
As Xardas wrote try to obtain Microsoft installation disc and check if everything works well.

  • Satellite L450D-11G - Won't boot and dont know how to restore

    Hi guys,
    I've got a satellite l450d-11g running on windows 7 32 bit.
When i boot it up, it comes up with a message saying that i need to restore it due to a file called: /windows\system32\drivers/msisadrv.sys is missing or corrupt and to insert my disk.
Well i didnt get a disk or anything with my computer and ive tried everything.
Can anyone help me atall? i will be willing to pay, just need to get my laptop up and runninng again.
The f8 and '0' method dont work either.
    Thanks.

    > The f8 and '0' method dont work either.
Usually the HDD recovery option should be available pressing F8 at the beginning of booting procedure.
Then a Advanced boot menu should appear where you could choose repair my computer -> HDD recovery
If this is not possible then you will need to recover the notebook using the Toshiba Recovery disk.
The disk can be ordered here:
    http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
    Good luck

  • Re: Satellite L450D-11G - I accidental deleted mic driver

I accidental deleted my mic driver, still have sound though, help please.
Do i need to download a new driver?

    Is this your notebook?
    http://www.toshiba.co.uk/discontinued-products/satellite-l450d-11g/
Whats exactly wrong with the notebook?
Im asking because you said you deleted the microphone driver.
First of all such driver does not exists.
The sound driver controls the microphone.
But you said that sound is still working so Im confused a little bit.

    And this is it.
I am able to connetct from JRMC. After removing -Xmanagement all is working.

Can you please take a thread dump and copy paste the stack trace for the Thread called "main" thread.
Please take atleast 3 thread dumps with an interval of 10 seconds and paste the "main" thread stack trace from all the 3 thread dumps.
After analyzing the stack trace we might be able to determine where it is hanging and thus giving us a clue where the issue could be.

  • Satellite L450D not responding after installation of camera software

    Hello,
I've just this month bought a L450D back from the UK. Yesterday I tried installing Olympus Digital Camera Software but once installed wouldn't work. Olympus site claim is compatible with Windows 7 but I decided to uninstall software. I'm wondering if I uninstalled something I shouldn't have because not responding now.
I've got a message - Windows Explorer has stopped working with 2 options: Check online for a solution and restart the program or Restart the Program
Problem is curser wont respond with the touchpad. Tried FN + F9 a couple of times with no response. Connected mouse, curser moves but wont respond to comand
    Any ideas?

    Hi
That means the Olympus Camera Software is causing this problem?
Hmm Have you tried uninstalling the software in safe mode? Therefore go in advanced boot menu (F8) and select safe mode. Then try uninstalling Olympus software usual.
Furthermore you can try uninstalling with special tools like CCleaner. I often use it because it cleans the registry and others.
    Check this!!

  • Satellite L750 system hangs after disconnecting the WLan

I bought Satellite L750 series laptop on that i connected Wifi. if i disconnect Wifi then system get hanging. I cant do anything in that. I updated driver software and i checked all the possibilities as my knowledge.

    >if i disconnect Wifi then system get hanging.
I assume you are using Fn + F8 to enable/disable the WLan.
    Right?
Did you try to recover the system in order to check if this is a system problem?
I think you should do that and should recover the notebook using HDD recovery procedure
Power up the unit, press F8, choose Repair my Computer, choose HDD recovery and follow the instruction on the screen then you will get the system with factory settings.
    Then test the WLan.

  • Lock screen hangs after the installation of ios7 in my iphone4s

my iphone 4s hangs several times after the instalation of ios7. needs to be restarted several times in a day. plese give solutions

    Hello RajPuth,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
Since restarting the phone does not seem to be resolving the issue, I would next reset the phone.
    Resetting your device
If your device stops responding, you can reset it by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
From: iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
              http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue persists, I would next backup the phone to iTunes and before you restore your backup, I would test the performance of the phone and make sure that its ok. When it is, restore your backup and verify that it is still performing as expected.

  • Satellite M300: bootmgr missing after Recovery has failed

I tried to reinstall Vista using Toshiba recovery disk... when i tried to do it took long time to copy files and then it asked for next disk.
Even after inserting 2 disk it still asks for insert next disk... I had no choice and i cancelled it...
When i booted again it said bootmgr missing
    'CTRL+ALT+DELETE' to restart
I stuck up don't know what to do.
    pls tell me sme suggestions

    Hi
The error bootmgr missing appears because the Recovery procedure hasnt finished and the old bootmgr was destroyed.
It looks like your second DVD is not readable for no apparent reason.
Maybe you could try to recover the notebook using the HDD recovery option.
Maybe the partition was not damage during the recovery procedure from DVD.
So press F8 after notebook was powered up. Choose first option called Repair my Computer. Choose last option Toshiba Recovery and try to recover the notebook from HDD.
If it doesnt work then you could boot from the original Vista DVD and could try to repair the boot manager.
In worst case you would have to reinstall the OS from the Microsoft Vista DVD or you will order a new Recovery DVD from Toshiba.
    Good luck

  • Re: Satellite A - Saving files after recovery?

Hi friends, I made a mistake.
I wanted to setup SP2 for Vista but I lost my all files. I did not understand it has not do this :( Recovery program formatted my second HDD partition.
So I am waiting your advices:(
    thanks

    Hi
If you run the Toshiba recovery disk it formats the whole HDD and so your second HDD partition too. In my opinion its normal and before you run recovery you should always backup your files.
Anyway, as Akuma said you should with Google to find a Data Recovery tool. I use PC Inspector File Recovery and it works really well. Furthermore its freeware program.
    Bye

  • Satellite A120: No sound after Vista installation

    Hi,
I've been handed a second laptop by work - so am unsure if the sound ever worked but..
    1) I've installed Vista Business Edition
    2) No sound from either the headphone jack or speakers
    3) No errors in the Windows Device Manager
    - ReInstalled the Realtek drivers from the tosh drivers site
    - <still no sound>
    Ran windows update
    - <still no sound>
    - When playing a sound file the graphic equaliser appears normally - i.e. bouncing up and down with the beat
    Now out of ideas!!
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi buddy
I think I know what the problem could be.
The sound must be put as high as possible before install of Vista!
Furthermore you should check if the sound was not muted runig the previous OS!
This could affect the sound on the new installed Vista OS!!!
I have searched a little bit on the different Toshiba websites and in the knowledge central and found this useful article regarding the sound issues running Vista OS
[Sound Utility to Turn Mute Off |http://support.toshiba.com/support/viewContentDetail?contentId=1671893&pf=true]
I would appreciate some feedback from you

  • Re: Satellite L450D-11G won't boot up

    Hi all,
Last night, I logged off my laptop as normal, and when I came back to it an hour later, it wouldn't boot up.
I have three green lights to indicate that it is fully charged and connected to the socket, but when I press power, it attempts to boot up for a couple of seconds and then stops, plus nothing appears on the screen. The three green lights remain on. When I hold down the power button for five seconds, you can hear it shut down, as you would if anything was working correctly.
I tried taking the battery out, and putting it back in etc, but still nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas? I presume it is a simple case of the motherboard breaking, but was curious to see if anyone thought it might be something else.
    Thanks in advance.

Ah I see, thanks for that.
I have used both HDMI and VGA cables, and nothing has appeared on an external monitor. When the same task was done with a PS3 and another laptop respectively, the screen appeared on the external monitor.
I've sought advice from elsewhere, and the general consensus is that it is a graphics chip problem, and that I need a replacement motherboard. It's just a bit frustrating because the laptop appears to be booting as normal now, and all the right lights, noises etc occur, and a CD is picked up in the CD drive...I just can't see anything on the screen.

I downloaded a newer version to C:\APPS\Java thinking the space in the path for Program Files (x86) might be a problem, but that also fails with the same error message

  • Windows XP installation on Satellite L300 11G

    Hello,
I have a problem installing windows XP on my Toshiba Satellite L300 11G.
It does not recognize the SATA HDD. SO I downloaded the files that were needed (Intel Storage....) and then I get an error: iaStor is corrupted. I am pretty new in computing so I do not know if I downloaded the right thing. Please if someone could guide me trough and give me a link to download the correct file.
And does that message come only if I fail in choosing the correct driver when asked?? Or is there something else I am doing wrong...??
Please help. I am trying to fix this for several days, and I bought my laptop a few days ago and I need it for business. I would appreciate your help a lot.
    Thanks.

Come on buddy... Please dont mix everything!!!
*_Regarding the Toshiba Vista Recovery CD:_*
If you want to create the Toshiba Vista Recovery DVD and want to burn the preinstalled Toshiba image on a DVD then use the Recovery Disc Creator tool.
And YES, the user manual contains the info how to do this because Ive checked it and found the needed info!!!
    *_Regarding the new XP installation_*
If you want to install the XP OS on this notebook, then you have to include the SATA driver like described by Gipsyman above!!!
The XP OS installation will format the HDD or partition and will erase the installed operating system.
Therefore it would be advisable and recommended to create the Toshiba recovery DVD firstly before installing the XP.
I think this should be clear.
