Satellite L50-A-10W - Multiple applications using sound cause crackle
When I have multiple applications running, for example:
Youtube playing a video, being on skype and playing a game.
They sometimes shut down/mute the other application, or cause the sound from all of them crackle.
It is getting a bit frustrating.
The drivers I have are DTS Studio sound, and the IDT sound card driver.
I can make the crackles stop by turning off the EQ in DTS Studio but that is only a temporary solution for a short period of time, and I need a permanent solution to thiis problem.
My laptop is a Toshiba L50-A-10W.
I have tried multiple headphones already, and connecting an external soundcard and using the jack output of that one works(I don't think that's relevant though).
Any help is appreciated, and I really need it.

Well, I think we can only assume about possible reasons.
I dont think that there is a magic or primary solution.
If you think that the driver/software causes this issue, I would recommend you to reinstall this software.
Uninstall the DTC studio. Clean the system (good freeware software is CCLeaner)
Reboot the notebook, download the DTS software and install it again.
You could also test the notebooks sound appearance without the installed DTS software.

Problem with multiple applications using one audio output
Hey there, I'm having issues setting up my 5.1 headset seen here (http://www.sharkoon.com/?q=en/content/x-tatic-digital) to work with multiple applications.
Right now I have audio streaming from a flash video, when I try run "$ speaker-test -c 6" I get the following error:
speaker-test 1.0.25
Playback device is default
Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 6 channels
Using 16 octaves of pink noise
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1018:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
Playback open error: -16,Device or resource busy
If I try open another application which uses this device, the first application has its sound cut off.
2 more things to note:
- My preference for setup would be audio output through S/PDIF and input through USB, with the USB output disabled (To not waste system resources).
- I unmuted all channels in ALSA, however when I ran the test only 2 channels seemed to be working (Front L&R), it may have been defaulting to the USB connection, in which case, that explains only 2 channels being in use, is there a method of setting the S/PDIF as default system wide?

I can run both at the same time, however I cannot hear any audio. Do I somehow have to change the default device, if so how can I do that?

Flash only works when other audio is active, however it has constant popping sound. I went through the system logs to get the errors of when flash crashes, it's audio crashing it, here's the error:

[solved] Problems with multiple applications running sound...
Multiple programs on my system are unable to use sound at the same time. When any two programs that are supposed to output sound run together, the program that started the output first prevents the other from outputing. I read the Wiki page on ALSA, but have had no luck so far in identifying the problem. I do believe that I am using alsa, as the sound of the program with sound does change as I adjust the alsa mixer volumes.
This started happening when I reinstalled arch this moring with XFCE (I needed to add more space to root partition and replace my DE, and fealt it would be easiest to just reinstall the OS.) In the few days I was using KDE, the sound worked fine. I also previously used Ubuntu on this system in which the sound worked fine.
I am inclined to believe that It is either something I have not configured properly (however I did not do anything to sound setup in the KDE install) or a package that did not install with XFCE, but does with KDE-base.
EDIT: Also, If the sounds are coming from the same application they can both play, IE I can hear 2 youtube videos at the same time but not a youtube video and VLC or Skype.

I have also just discovered that flash seems to be the program that causes the interferences, as VLC and Skype run fine together. I am going to try the instructions by Karol, reboot, and report the results. -
Distribution Point IIS Config - Multiple applications using Default Web Site

I've having some problems with a distribution point, when trying to download content I'm getting the following error in the datatransferservices.log:
Error sending DAV request. HTTP code 500, status 'Internal Server Error'
Looking at IIS, I can see that another application (uniflow print server) has published folders under the Default Web Site.
Reading
similar errors it appears it may be to do with ISAPI filters being configured by the other application. Unfortunately these filters are required by the Uniflow application. So, my question is:
Is there any way to change the web site used by the distribution point?

IainNot on a one off basis, no. The web sites are tied to ports which means you would also have to change the port. Both are global changes. The better solution is to not multi-purpose a DP.

No sound in multiple applications with 5.1 upmix

I already did some research about my problem but I did not find a solution for my problem yet. I configured my .asoundrc so that I have a permanent upmix from 2.0 to 5.1. But with the current configuration I cannot have multiple applications play sound at the same time.

With this configuration Exaile gives an error on playback "Cannot open device for playback". VLC plays just stereo...
What I want to have is this:
Stereo should be upmixed to 5.1. But signals that already are 5.1 should not be changed. With pulseaudio on Ubuntu this was easy to do but I don't want to have pulseaudio at the moment. I had some trouble with it.
I tried some .asoundrc from this thread but they did not work.
Maybe someone can help me?For some reason it shows nothing. Sound is still not working but the output of mplayer is different now:

VLC shows the same error and Exaile says "konfigured audiosink 'bin1' does not work". But in .asoundrc there is no "bin1"...

I noticed that nano messed the line breaks up. So longer comments started in a new line and were not commented of course. I fixed that. Now the output is:

Can multiple APEX application use the same parsing schema?
Hi,
I have 4.2 APEX thru pl/sql Gatewat, 11gr2 DB and using theme 24.
Due to the APEX limitation for version control I would be splitting 1 big ERP applications into 24 different APEX applications and each application would be considered as 1 unit for version control.
I have about 800 tables and I would assume that all of these would need to be stored in 1 schema since a lot of these table are linked thru FK.
Can I have multiple APEX APPS using the same parsing schema? or is there a better way to do this?

Multiple applications can have same (one) parsing schema.
You can test that on e.g. apex.oracle.com, where normally you have only one schema and you create multiple applications and all use that same schema.

Cannot use Intel widi with my Satellite L50-A-11T
Hi,
I have a Satellite L50-A-11T and i've tried to use Intel widi with Windows 8.1 and doesn't work, it says that the system is not compatible.
With Windows 8 it was ok and worked fine, but in the instruccions for upgrading it said to remove Intel widi.
Why is that?

Intel WiDi isnt supported in Win 8.1 on Toshiba notebooks BUT instead of Intel WiDi you can use Miracast.
But Intel WiDi is not Miracast.
Intel WiDi was developed by Intel.
Miracast is an standard supported by developed by WiFi Allianz and Intel is a part of this Allianz
Windows 8.1 as well as Android 4.2 support the Miracast standard.
But this does not mean that you can use it always you need the compatible hardware parts.
In case your TV would not support Miracast standard, you will not be able to use it -

Different functionalities for a single webdynpro component can be achieved by many ways. Among them is the use of multiple applications. Say for example if you want different views/windows to be displayed at the start up, you can achieve it by specifying at the default window, for each every webdynpro application.
And if you want control the fields, say for example you want to display input fields as editable for one application and read only for other application, you can achieve it through application parameters. Based on parameters, in HANDLEDEFAULT method of window controller , you can specify the type of behaviour , whether it has to editable or not based on parameters and same can be used at context binding of UI properties.
Application configuration can be used for personalization.Web Dynpro ABAP Application Configuration. This tutorial would help you understanding the concept much better. There can be multiple application configurations for a single application.

Dynamic Tab Template : Use Menu Navigation Across Multiple Applications

I have the following use case and would appreciate help.
Our client has multiple applications which they need integrated into a single home page. I am using the dynamic tab template as my home page with multiple panel boxes containing application specific menus. I need to be able to create a tab from any application via the menu.
My strategy is to use bounded task flows in the various applications, but I am not 100% sure on how to do it. The applications would also contain multiple task flows, so I would then need to be able to paramatise the task flows so that it can execute the correct flow case.

Having the exact same issue. Also, on right click, many apps freeze/beachball and must force close. Additionally, uTorrent and Transmission are not operating correctly-uTorrent constantly beachballing and unresponsive. Right-click freezes with everything from Word to iMovie. Takes way too much time to do anything, and lots of cursor freezing, here is a sys log excerpt:

disk2s1 (disk2s1) <not mounted>: 209.7 MBI'm having the same issue - started a few months ago and had to forcibly shut down the Mac. That killed the hard drive, so I got a new hard drive and had the Apple Store install Lion on it, then used Migration Assistant to bring files over. Since then I've upgraded to Mountain Lion and have been experiencing lots of beach balls, freezes, etc. They're so bad that I've had to forcibly shut down 3 times, and each time can't restart. Each time I've erased and done a clean install of Mountain Lion from a USB, then used migration assistant and time machine to bring files back. Satellite L750D - BIOS update 2.1 and sound problem

I have little problem. I have been downloaded from your website BIOS 2.1 for Toshiba Satellite L750D (PSK32E).
I have been updated BIOS to 2.1 and start problem with sound. When I start game, music or something other only 2 first minutes sound plays properly but then it stops for no reason. No sound at all. I have been reinstalled op system but the problem is still there.
Sound works for 2 minutes only then is completely off. Every start application with sound plays 2 minutes and stop all quiet is. I have made a probe on my mother laptop its a twin laptop. I have been updated bios same problem 2 minutes and then no sound. My operating system is win 8 pro 64 my mother laptop is with win 7 x64 premium.
Two BIOS updated 2.1 ver on L750D and the problem is same. Please fix BIOS.The BIOS seems to be very old. I was released nearly 1.5 years ago so to be honest I doubt its and BIOS issue.
I had the similar issue with my other notebook equipped with an Realtek sound card.
The sound appeared again after plugging and removing the headphone jack
But i could solve this installing the newest sound driver update from Realtek driver page.
But it seems that your Satellite does not support Realtek sound chip but Conexant sound chip.
Therefore the solution might not be useful for you.
However, I think you need to update the sound driver.I recommend you to google for Conexant SmartAudio HD driver and to test the newest available driver version.
In internet I could found the Conexant SmartAudio HD Driver version 8.65.9.51 for Win 7/ Win 8 / Win 8.1
Not quite sure if this is the newest version but you can test it.
In order to manually update your driver:
1. Go to Device Manager (right click on My Computer, choose Manage and then find Device Manager in the left panel)
2. Right click on the hardware device you wish to update and choose Update Driver Software
3. Choose to select the location of the new driver manually and browse to the folder where you downloaded the driver -

That' "requirement" sounds like it was written by someone who is trying to drive the design of the application. Without knowing your personal situation it's hard for me to say, but if I had to guess I would say the real requirement is to send an email with multiple attachements, and the person giving that requirement thought sending it through Outlook would be the best way. You should get clairification on what the real intend of that requirement is.
