Satellite L50-A013 - Windows 7 Drivers needed

Hi,
my employer brought a Satellite L50-A013, Part NO: PSKL6A-013004 preloaded with Windows 8 and wanted 7 on it. I have installed 7 but I am having some driver issues. On the Toshiba support area they list the laptop, but there are no drivers for it. The main piece of hardware I'm having trouble with is the wireless. Details are as follows:
Physical Device Object name
NTPNP_PCI0016
Hardware Ids
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_061211AD&REV_01
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_061211AD
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_0280
I also wiped the harddrive during installation, so I can't restore windows 8. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have no idea what you have done or what you try to do but you have posted device details.
I see: VEN_ID (vendor) 168C and DEV_ID (device) 0036
Terentino posted link to pci databse. Using this database you can find out what module it is.
Vendor 168C is Atheros
It looks like the driver you need are from Atheros.
I found some Win 8 drivers for this unit on the Toshiba EU driver page.
Check if you can install an Win 8 driver on an Windows 7 system.

  • Satellite L50-B-1XF - Win 7 64bit drivers and software

    Hello,
as I can't find anything about my model - Satellite L50-B-1XF (PSKTUE-04C00WGR) I will try it here...
I bought two of these (one for me, one for my wife) with Win8.1 installed.
Well... no need to say that this is one of the worst OS I ever seen and since Tru64 Unix and VMS I have seen many.
Anyway. I downgraded to Win7 Professional SP1 64Bit - complete re-installed all updates installed, etc.
Now I have the problem that I can not find anything about the camera.
Is there any support page here where I can download the appropriate Win764Bit drivers specially for this model?
    Help here is very appreciated!

    Hi Stuart
The situation is pretty simply and clear, so I'm really wondering you were not able to find drivers, tools and utilities for your notebook model.
For European notebooks you can download all stuff on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
This is European support page for drivers download. I found your model there and your notebook model is fully supported for Win7 64bit so you can find all drivers, tools and utilities there.
Please check it out and if there is some problem with installation let us know

  • New Satellite L50-C - wont allow updates and windows 10 upgrade, keeps asking to restart

Hi, hope someone can help:I picked up a new laptop yesterday with windows 8.1 installed and followed the prompts to upgrade to windows 10.  The computer downloaded what I presume were the updates for 8.1 to get it up to date before starting the windows 10 installation.  It has also downloaded the data for the windows 10 upgrade as I am now getting the prompt telling me the upgrade is ready to install. However, when I click on 'start the upgrade now' in the windows 10 upgrade box the laptop just restarts and boots back up to a windows 8.1 login.  Once logged into desktop Windows Update opens up and tells me that I need to restart to complete install of updates.  I click on the restart and the computer restarts but with no message telling me during the restart process that updates are installing as you might usually expect.  The boot-up then bring me back to the same point (login screen, then win8.1 desktop and Windows update again popping up asking for a restart).  I have followed these prompts and done several restarts thinking that it is working through bringing the updates in one by one however the update list doesn't vary when I check:  I ran the troubleshooter for update and got the following message: However even after doing this a couple of times I still have the same problem.  After reading up on these forums and elsewhere I tried running sfc/scannow (no issues detected). Can anyone help?

  • Replaced hard drive in a Toshiba Satellite L45-57423 and now need to install windows

I recenly had to replace the hard drive in my old Toshiba Satellite. I no longer have (and am unsure I ever had, as I don't recall that the laptop came with one) the Windows recovery disk. Is it better to purchase a new recovery disk for this computer from Toshiba or to buy a Windows Installation disk?

Best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery discs. All the drivers and utilities are properly installed. Obtain the discs from Toshiba by scrolling down to Get Recovery Media here.

If you still have only 1 GB of memory, that computer can barely run. Windows Vista needs at least 2 GB. See the section Adding Memory (optional), which begins on p. 46 of the User's Guide.

  • Satellite L50-A-1DE - screen distortion - reboot is needed

    Dear all,
I bought a Satellite L50-A-1DE 6 months ago and since 3 months, when the computer is "ON" and if I'm moving, I suddendly get a screen with distortion and I have no choice than restarting my computer.
I thought it was a driver issue or a not stable version of windows but as all drivers are up to date and as I did not change anything in the computer setting, I start wondering if this is not simply a screen issue ?
*My set-up is described below :*
    Windows 8.1. 64 bits
    Intel Core i7 (2.40 GHz) - 6 Go
    Intel Graphics 4600
    NVidia GeForce GT 740M
Do you have any ide or has anyone already met this problem ?
    Thanks
    Miloris

    > I thought it was a driver issue or a not stable version of windows but as all drivers are up to date and as I did not change anything in the computer setting, I start wondering if this is not simply a screen issue ?
You could perform an short test just to add clarity.
Next time when this issue would appear, you could connect an external monitor just to check if the same distortions would be visible on 2nd monitor.
If the distortions will NOT be visible on external monitor, the graphic card and the graphic card drive isnt the troublemaker but probably the internal display module is affected.
In such case the display should be replaced.
In case the distortion will appear on external monitor as well as on the internal display, the graphic card or the driver might cause the problem.
In such case you should fistly set the notebook back to factory settings installing the Toshiba image using the HDD recovery. After that you should try to install latest graphic card driver version.
If this procedure doesnt help, the graphic card should be checked but this requires special diagnostic software.
This would require an further assistance from the authorized service provider the unit is still covered by warranty (as you said its 6 month old) and therefore the notebook should be fixed under warranty conditions.

  • Apple Windows drivers on USB, but Windows says I need to format USB to use it

I set up a 16GB USB drive as my Mountain Lion install disk via the Mountain Lion Installer app.   I ran BootCamp and had it download and put the Windows drivers also onto the USB stick.
Installed Windows and got to the part where it says I have no drivers.
So when I now put in the USB drive to install the drivers, Windows is saying "You need to format the disk in drive E: before you can use it.  Do you want to format it?"    ...but that's where the drivers are.
How was the USB stick formatted originally?  I don't know, presumably with whatever the default from Disk Utility was when I wiped it.
    Ay suggestions?
(e.g....reformat the USB with Windows, reboot into OS X (assuming that works), then have Boot Camp Assistant re-put the Windows drivers on the USB, then reboot into Windows, etc?   Trying that now.)
    Thanks.

The drive must be formatted as FAT32, you can do that on Windows or OSX. Then put the drivers back on it, boot to Windows and install them.

  • Satellite L50-A-1C7 - video tdr blue screen error

When i start my laptop everything works fine but after 2min it freezes and i get video tdr error and need to restart.
Right know i disable my 740m directly in devicemanager and i dont get any errors.
when i turn it back on 10min later everything works normally but after restart i need to disable it again.
Is there a problem met nvidia drivers and how can i fix it ?
    Laptop: Satellite L50-A-1C7

    Hi
The latest driver can be downloaded from Toshiba driver page but BSOD can be caused also by hardware problem.
Its just an assumption but probably the graphic card is the troublemaker and probably the driver update will not fix your issue.
From my point of few you should recover the notebook back to factory settings.
Perform the check using the notebook configured by Toshiba.
In case the BSOD will still appear, contact the ASP in order to check the hardware.
In case the warranty is still valid, the notebooks hardware problem should be fixed free of charge.

  • Cannot use Intel widi with my Satellite L50-A-11T

    Hi,
I have a Satellite L50-A-11T and i've tried to use Intel widi with Windows 8.1 and doesn't work, it says that the system is not compatible.
With Windows 8 it was ok and worked fine, but in the instruccions for upgrading it said to remove Intel widi.
    Why is that?
    Thanks in advance.

    You misunderstood this info.
Intel WiDi isnt supported in Win 8.1 on Toshiba notebooks BUT instead of Intel WiDi you can use Miracast.
But Intel WiDi is not Miracast.
Intel WiDi was developed by Intel.
Miracast is an standard supported by developed by WiFi Allianz and Intel is a part of this Allianz
Windows 8.1 as well as Android 4.2 support the Miracast standard.
But this does not mean that you can use it always you need the compatible hardware parts.
In case your TV would not support Miracast standard, you will not be able to use it

  • Satellite L50-B916 - wireless connection issue

    Hello
I bought my Toshiba Satellite L50-B916 less than 6 months ago, and had to download all the drivers myself because for some reason, the OS didn't come with it.
Went to the TOSHIBA MEA website to download and install corresponding drivers.
    Downloaded the Atheros wireless driver.
The Internet connection always gets disconnected on my laptop ,but works just fine on other laptops and devices.
Not just one connection, all the ones I've tried connecting to.
Tried removing Atheros and re-installing it, it worked well for a few days ,but connection disrupting again.
What shall I do to fix this very annoying problem?

Hmm… does it happen using the notebook in battery mode or also while the AC adaptor is connected to the notebook?
It could be possible that the WiFi powers saving settings are enabled and therefore the Wlan connection interrupts.
    Go to:
Windows power options – choose the right power plant – advanced power options.
Here search for WLan card settings and set it to “best performance”
You should also set the settings for PCI express to “best performance”
Additionally go to device manager. Here choose Wlan card properties
Switch to the last tab called “Power Management” and ensure that the option available in this tab isn’t ticked!

It says "to start, connect a camera"
does anybody knpws where i can find the drivers or what to do with this??

In order to use webcam, you have to use the Win 8.1 webcam app.
But you should also check the webcam access privacy settings.
You will find this under PC settings -> Pivacy -> webcam
Please check also the helpful Microsoft page about the internal Win 8.1 webcam

  • High CPU usage caused by system interrupts [Satellite L50-B-1DG]

Just installed 64bit versions of windows 8.1 & windows 7 on a brand new Satellite L50-B-1DG, and literally without any programs installed, the CPU usage does not fall below 45%.
The windows 8.1 task manager suggests this is caused by system interrupts, so I tried the following without any luck:
    1. installed latest version of all drivers
    2. disabled all devices one by one to trace the root of the interrupts
    3. used latencymon to trace the driver behind the DPCs, and while the program suggests that it is caused by aspi, again I cannot trace which device causes the interrupts (I have already disabled them all)
    4. re-installed windows 8.1/7 multiple times, no difference
So, is this normal? Is this caused by faulty hardware? People with same models notice anything similar?
    Cheers

  • RAM expansion on Satellite L50-B-18E

Hi, I need to expand the RAM memory on my laptop, it is a Toshiba Satellite L50-B-18E i5.
How can I do that? Do I send my laptop to some technical support office or can I do it myself?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi
According notebook specification your notebook was offered with 4GB of RAM but it can be upgraded up to 16GB.
Compatible RAM modules for your machine are:
    2GB DDR3L-1600 - PA5104U-1M2G
    4GB DDR3L-1600 - PA5104U-1M4G
    8GB DDR3L-1600 - PA5104U-1M8G
Unfortunately this notebook model doesn't have memory cover placed at the bottom side so I think memory upgrade by notebook owner is not supported. Theoretically you can do this alone but if you remove some hardware components this will cancel the warranty so I think you should contact nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.
Memory modules you can obtain on your own and just ask service to put it in the place. I cannot imagine it will be expensive.
