Satellite L500-19X: Win7 install won't work - stuck on syswow64 loop?

I've tried to reinstall Windows 7 on Satellite L500-19x but it won't complete - every time I boot up laptop a white splash screen appears saying "preparing to install...may take a few minutes" but this never disappears...can get out of this screen by starting task manager and hitting escape a few times.
When get as far as desktop things seem to be in order except for command prompt running Syswow64/sysprep/...access is denied on continuous loop, also there is a window saying "TUPIT 2" which seems to have failed as there is a "requested registry access is not allowed" in front of it.
Would really appreciate if somebody could tell me how to fix this as it is extremely frustrating and seems to be so close yet so far to being successfully completed!

Hi
This message is very strange. Had read in internet about similar issues but the issues were always related to the registry problems.
In most cases the error message appeared trying to repair the Windows OS.
Did you try to make a clean installation?
I think you should format the HDD firstly before trying to install the Win 7.
Hopefully everything would be erased from HDD before starting the setup installation

  • Re: Satellite L500-19X - Webcam application start with Windows

I have lost my Web Camera Application from off the desktop.
I can bring it back by going to the Web Camera Application / Program files(86) / Toshiba/ Web Camera Application and clicking on the Web Camera Application .exe. But it will not reappear when I boot. I have the Auto Run ticked,
My laptop is the Satellite L500-19X, Windows 7
    Thanks for any help.

Thanks to all the replies I have now got the Web Camera Application working properly.
Dr.Lamp the download link you gave me has enabled the Web Camera Application.
The problem I had with installing the driver ie Windows Script Host error, not allowing me to install the driver, I overcame by not allowing the zip file to extract and install. What I did was create a new folder on the desk top, and instructed the zip to extract but not install the contents into the new folder. When all the files had been extracted to the new folder, I opened the folder and clicked on the .exe file. To my amazement and joy, the software ran and first removed the existing software, I rebooted and clicked again on the .exe and the software installed. I now have the web camera application on my desktop and it re-appears after a re-boot.

After reading the replies that was given while I was writing my last post, can someone enlighten me regards whether the action I took was the correct action to take, I am concerned that I may still have further problems regarding the 'Error message Cannot find script engine'

  • Creating Win 7 64bit Recovery Disc for Satellite L500-19x?

    My new Satellite L500 - 19X came pre-installed with Win 7 - 64 bit version.
Also included was a "Product Recovery Win 7 32 bit" disc
Within the packaging was a leaflet saying:
"If you plan to use the 64-bit version at a later stage, please create a _recovery medium_ prior to installing 32-bit Windows 7"
It then cautions me to create a "64 bit recovery medium.....ordering a 64-bit recovery medium is not free of charge"
The manual goes on at length about "_System Recovery Options_" As instructed in the manual I have made a "Repair Disc Windows 7 64-bit" Am I correct in saying that I do not or cannot have an actual Win 7 64-bit disc?
The leaflet says "a backup copy (of the Win 7 64-bit) is stored on the hard disk drive as a _recovery image_" So is this the actual Win 7-64-bit complete disc that I am after, and if so how do I get it?
The Toshiba documentation is not clear, and I believe rather contradicts itself?
I am confused! Anyone understand what's going on?
    JohnF.

My confusion is because I don't understand what "recovery disc" means?!
On the "Dear Customer" flyer entitled "+Choosing your Windows 7 Architecture+" that came with the machine it states:-
"+A backup copy of the system (64 bit version) is stored on the hard disk drive as a recovery image+" This is what I don't understand, as I have already made a "+repair disc Win 7 64-bi+t" as well as having the "+Product recovery Win 7 - 32-bit" cd+" This cd seems to be the complete Windows disc, unless I am mistaken.
I guess what I am getting at is do I have complete Win 7 - 64-bit in case of total failure of the machine ? (I am asking the question because you often used to get a full Windows disc with a new computer in the old days)
Does this make it any clearer? Thanks for everyone's help

  • Satellite A200 28H : F6 floppy won't work while installing XP

    Hi,
I'm trying to install Windows XP pro on my new laptop (Satellite A200 28H), and since it needs SATA driver, I have downloaded the appropriate driver for my laptop (Satellite A200 28H), put them on a floppy to use with a USB floppy drive (which works fine), pressed "F6" when appropriate and all... But it just won't work. I have had a computer technician background for a few years, so even thouh this is no longer my job and I might be a bit rusty, I think I still know at least a bit what I'm doing... Well, apparently I'm more out of picture than I thought !
I have tried several things, and here is what I get :
    * If I do not use the floppy at all, Windows XP will not find the hard disk. That was expected, no problem here, save for the fact it is utterly useless to me :)
    * If I force the driver on the floppy, despite Windows telling me it already has a driver it can use, then within 10 seconds I get a BSOD with the 0x7B stop message (boot device not found or unreachable).
    * If I use the floppy, but do not force the driver and instead listen to Windows ("oh, you already have a driver ? Ok, then, use it and nevermind that floppy"), I can actually finish the installation process. Windows will copy all the files it needs on the drive, it will even reboot properly after that and go on installing itself. But when the installation is over, the computer will reboot, I will see the loading screen for a second, and then, BSOD stop 0x7B again.
I'm pretty sure I have downloaded the proper driver for my computer. Actually, I also tried a couple of wrong drivers too, just to be sure (ie I should use Intel Matrix for ICH8M, but I also tried the one for ICH7M to be sure), I tried with drivers downloaded from the Toshiba website, from the Intel website, and from whatnot-other-website-for-newbies-or-powerusers, and I always have the same behaviour as described above.
I have tried partitioning / formating during the installation, and I also have tried leaving the file system untouched. If I do the latter, the only difference is that I am offered 2 possible OS to boot from, both being Windows XP, and both failing miserably.
It's probably interesting to mention that, if I use the recovery DVD and start fresh and clean with Vista, I have no problem whatsoever, save for the gazillion process loaded at startup, the already half-used RAM and the hundred or so useless applications I don't give a darn about... And the fact that some applications I need to work just can't be installed on Vista.
If anyone has any idea about how to fix it, I'd be most grateful !

    Hi
The procedure including the SATA drivers into the Win XP using the external USB floppy drive is very easy.
First of all you have to download the Storage Manger and have to put it on the floppy.
During the Win XP Setup procedure you have to press F6 button to include it from the external floppy drive and follow the further instruction on the screen.
    _Note;_
Very important is that your Win XP CD would contains the SP2!!!
Without the SP2 a BSOD could appears and could break up the installation!!!
Dont format or dont create any partitions after the SATA driver installation. This can erase the installed and included SATA driver from the HDD.
Last but not least some external FDD drives are not supported. I read that some users had some problems with an external FDD drives they tested another drive and it worked finally
Check the recommended points maybe it could be useful
    Bye

Please give me solution on it.

Best way to test functionality is to install original recovery image again and test hardware with factory settings.
Please use recovery DVD discs, if you have created them, or use HDD recovery option - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

  • Satellite A300 - inbuilt Chicony webcam won't work with Win Live Messenger

    Hello
I just bought a *Satellite A300-1MC* (runs on Vista Home Premium), and downloaded Windows Live Mail And Live Messenger.
The inbuilt webcam won't work with Live Messenger ; and when selecting Tool, Audi + Vieo Setup in Messenger I get thye following message : "We are unable to run Audi Video setup".
The webcam works fine with the Camera Assisant Software.
I have tried : 1) killing the C.A. Software and starting Messenger ; 2) dowanloading a webcam driver from Toshiba website ; 3) Updating Windows Vista
    None of the above work.
    Any suggestion gladly received.....
    Thomas

    Hi,
    Many thanks for the advice.
I have downloaded and installed ManyCam 2.3, then rebooted.
The ManyCam software works fine, and picks up signal from the inbuild webcam.
But Windows Live Messenger still doesn't pick up the camera. I can not start a Video call or go to" Video Audio setup".
I have Windows Live Messenger version 14.0.8064 (installed on Tuesday).
Funny enough, yahoo messenger works fine : it gets a signal from the webcam.
Conclusion : i think it is Windows Live Messenger that doesn't work properly for some reason.
I have ordered a new external webcam, in the meantime.

  • Satellite L500-20X - WLAN switch doesn't work after Windows 8 Upgrade

    Hello,
I have updatet my Toshiba Satellite L500-20X to Windows 8.
Unfortunately, since this update my WLAN Switch no longer works. All function keys work to F7, only F8 (WLAN switch) and F9 (touchpad) no longer work.
    What can I do?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards
    Klaus

Satellite L500 is not Win 8 upgrade supported so I think the problem is a missing driver or software
As far as I know in order to use the FN buttons the Value Added Package for Win 8 needs to be installed.
Check other driver area for Toshiba notebook series supporting the Win 8.
Maybe you could use the VAP released for other series.

  • Re: Recovey menu does not appear on my Satellite L500-19X

    Hello,
I cant start my toshiba laptop L500-19X.
When I start appear two option menu. 1.Start normally or 2. Recovery mode. Both options cant run windows 7. I only obtain black window without seeing any windows.
I try pressing F8 to enter the detailed recovery menu. I select the Repair Computer option waiting for the Toshiba Recovery Options Menu but it does not appear. The only thing appears in the screen is the mouse pointer in minor resolution mode, but i cant see the menu, and this stills forever.
    What can I do?
    Thanks.

After I press Repair You Computer in the F8 menu, the next screen shows a progress bar with the message: "windows esta cargando archivos..." (windows is loading files). When the progress bar finish appears a few seconds a new screen where I can see a symbol as if w7 is loading, but 2..3 seconds after goes to a black screen. And more seconds after, even minutes, appear the mouse cursor, but after it happens nothing, and I dont listen hdd work forever.
    Thanks.

  • Satellite L500: WLan drops out and doesnt work most of the time

hi everyone, i have a toshiba satellite L500 running windows 7. have been using iprimus internet, wirelessly, no problems for a few weeks, before that, was using it via ethernet cable as i didnth ave a wireless modem. my laptop was off charge the other night and went flat, next morning when i woke up and turned it on, it wouldnrt connect to the internet.. after hours and hours of phone calls to iprimus, and numerous winsock resets, ethernet cable testing, and modem resetting, they tell me that the problem is within my laptop...
So i rang toshiba.. and they got me to go into device managers, and then network adapters, and disable, actually uninstall the wireless drivers, then reinstall.. and it worked.. finally... (forgot to add with all the iprimus confusion someone had reset my passowrd and i had to configure that to the laptop..
so anyway, after all these calls, i did a complete restore of the laptop, and wiped everything and reinstalled it all, and therefore reinstalled the modem. this time in modem setup it was telling me the wireless network adapter was unplugged, and would only let me set it up via ethernet..
now earlier today i did have the internet.. but it dropped out randomly.. webpages will go slow, sometimes it will reconnect, other times it wont. now i thougbht i might try and uninstall and reinstall the modem again,s ame error, and this time, cant get on wirelessly at all.
ive googled to see if others ahve had this problem.. and seeing what other people wrote, i went into my battery settings, and checked the WLAN didnt go into sleep mode etc, and ive also checked everythings enabled. ive no idea what to do,, neither iprimus or Toshiba will give me any anwers, both companies are just blaming each other lol
    so i
it does appear to be my laptop, as all lights are on modem.. and iprimus keep telling me its not registering with them ( the disconnections) so it must be my wireless. though everytime my laptop dropped out of internet, so would my bfs iphone we were testing, and so did my other laptop which is partially stuffed but could normally still connect to the net.. so thats telling me its a modem problem.. ive no idea what to do.. and cant keep this via ethernet on the bench in this new hosue ive moved into,as with 2 kids under 3, thats just asking for trouble..
    anyone have any suggestion??
    thanks in advance

wel after many more phone calls to iprimus, i finally found a helpful indian, who ran me through the modem setup AGAIN like everyone else has, this time in its security settings, he got me to change the wireless signal channel from 2 to 9, said that would improve the signal, every other person when explaining the issues i was having, always told me to set it on 2.. so this has improved it dramatically in the day, but at night, particulary around 830pm, it drops out over and over and over...
would this just be a faulty modem, and perhaps buying oen from a harvery norman etc would be better?? or could it just be iprimus as a whole with there wireless coverage? im not in an iprimus area, theyve borrowed the lines of telstra or something.. so im on a crappier plan in this new house, and dont have adsl2 just 1500 speed. would this have anythign to do with the poor reception, or perhaps is there something in my house interfearing, or in my neighbors house? there is a satelite here, but no actual foxtel connected, looks as though it has been before. there is also an alarm here, not in use though.. ive not even seen if it turns on..

  • Satellite L500 - How to get FN keys working on Windows 7 64bit?

    Hello
You need Toshiba Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility. Both you can download here:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
Use also the forum search, this question was asked 100 times before.

  • Satellite L500-19X - Change from Windows 7 to XP Pro

I have a L500-19X supplied with Windows 7 trial which has now expired. Can I easily load XP Pro to replace?
I would appreciate jargon free replies as I am a computor dummy.

    hi,
Before installing Windows xp, check if Win Xp drivers are available for your model:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
If there are no drivers, it's useless to install Xp. You have to look for them in the web and most of them are not existing.
By the way, if you use a laptop with supplied Windows, there is no expiration.

  • Satellite L500 PSLS0E - FN Menu doesn't work

Now I have wanted to connect my Laptop to my TV again (I have done this before by using an HDMI cable and FN+F5, however not anymore.) but now for the first time I have noticed that the FN key does NOT bring up the menu it used to bring up when I pressed it before and I have no idea what is causing this.
I have tried using google ect to find a solution and the thing I noticed is that when I go in Start>All Programs>TOSHIBA>Utilities other people seem to have "Flash Cards" and "Flash Cards - Setting" now all I have is Flash Card Help, Restart Flash Cards and Settings for Flash Cards. I am just saying this to see if this has to do with the problem anyways moving on.
I would like to know how to fix this problem I already tried to install the Value Added Package but it did not help at all and this problem was probably caused due to me fiddling around with my laptop. Thanks in advance.
    PS:
Toshiba Satellite L500 (Part Number thingy: PSLS0E) Windows 7 64 bit.

    Hi
Beside the installation of VAP you need to install Flash Card Support Utility too!
Firstly uninstall VAP then clean the system using CCleaner
Then restart again and install VAP followed by Flash Card Support Utility

  • Leopard install won't work

I bought the new Nano last week only to discover it wasn't compatible with my system, PowerBook G4, OS X 10.3.9.......I had to upgrade (wish they'd have told me at the Apple store when I bought it).
So I went out today and bought Leopard and tried to install it.......won't work unless I clear the destination disk. Does that mean I have to transfer everything to my external HD and restore my computer first?
Any advise would be much appreciated......but please keep in mind I'm not very tech savvy ; )
    Thanx.

I can't get my head around it, because when booted from the internal drive airport connection to the network is fast, which suggests the harddrive is ok and the ethernet card might be faulty, but booting from the external firewire gives me normal speed ethernet so it can't be faulty, which suggests its a harddrive problem since that is the only thing that has changed.
Its starting to make me mad!!!! lol
Most likely it could just be a faulty motherboard, or in the Mac world, a faulty logic board. (Can't really understand why can't we just call it a motherboard)

  • Acrobat re install won't work, error 16

    Hi,
I have had a few problems with CS6 recently, most of which are now resolved.  I think a system update went ahead whilst my CS was open and the result was that ID, DW, AI and Acrobat would not open and I was given a reinstall product window with an error 16 code.  I didn't have my disc for a few days and managed to work around the problem with ID, AI and DW, but when I found my disc I thought it would be easy to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat (only programme not working) but having uninstalled the product, the installation from disc won't work!!!
It requests that I sign in to Adobe to complete the installation, then it doesn't work so it requests I contact support - and here I am!  I'm going round in circles trying to contact someone for support.  Can anyone help please.
    Many thanks.
