I lost the hd recovery during trying fix windows 7 installation. If I try to install windows 7 I get stop code 0x0000009c error. If I turn sata to compitibality from AHCI Windows xp sp2 not sp3 installed but most drivers like display and wlan not installed. Trying to update BIOS give that is not suitable for that the phoenix version of bios 1.5
I changed HD and RAM but the same problem. It may the BIOS?
plz help me

Hi buddy,
Do you install Windows 7 from Toshiba recovery disk or normal Microsoft disk?
Usually if you install Windows 7 from recovery disk, everything should work well because its pretested image from Toshiba and you get back out of box settings (factory settings).
If not it seems to be a hardware malfunction
By the way: Try to load the default settings in BIOS. You can do this if you press F9 key in BIOS.

Did you try to install before without removing anything that did get installed from your applications folder before trying again? You don't have the installer files in the applications folder, do you?

"The easiest way is to simply download the trial version of Lightroom 4.4 and install it. On the initial screen that displays when you start Lightroom (after you have installed it) has an option where you can indicate that you have a serial number. Choose that option, enter your serial number, and you are good to go."

  • Error 0x80070017 when installing Windows 7 via Boot Camp...

I've been trying hard to research this issue and haven't come across anything that has worked for me.
At work, we have an iMac (Early-2009) that we wish to install Windows 7 on. Previous user has left, so I reinstalled Snow Leopard (10.6) and used Disk Utility from the disc to reformat complete to GUID single partition Mac OS Extended (Journaled), which is pretty standard for Macs. Mac OS X installed and booted just fine. I updated completely to 10.6.8 and all other updates. Only installed Microsoft Office 2011 and Firefox.
    So Boot Camp begins...
Found that the early-2009 model doesn't "support" Windows 7 64-bit, so we are fine going with 32-bit. The 32-bit Windows 7 disc has been used to install Windows 7 using Boot Camp on 2 Mac Mini's (one Intel Core Duo, the other one Intel Core 2 Duo) just a few days ago.
Opened Boot Camp Assistant, partitioned the 1TB drive equally, inserted the Windows 7 disc, and clicked Restart.
It boots from the Windows 7 disc, I go through the options, choose the BOOTCAMP partition and format it (I assume Windows 7 is choosing NTFS for me). Click next.
It copies the files instantly, but then "begins" to Expand the files. It remains at 0% for 5-10 minutes (I can hear the Windows 7 DVD spin down and spin up, but mostly spin down). That's when the error hits:
"Windows cannot copy files required for installation. The files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070017"
I click Ok and cancel the install. Restart and boot back into Mac OS X. And here I am.
    Important Notes:
I've tried multiple times with a 64-bit disc as well. I will likely go check out another 32-bit disc from our software department, but I know this disc works on other Macs.
This issue occurred a month back as well when we attempted to install Windows 7 via Boot Camp (so before the hard drive and OS were reformatted and reinstalled). I was hoping reformatting and reinstalling the Mac OS X would solve the issue.
The Superdrive appears to be working just fine.
I read somewhere that I need to use repair disk to fix it. Does anyone know if I can repair disk a NTFS partition? Or am I suppose to repair disk the parent drive itself? The place I read it wasn't specific AT ALL and the forum was closed and I couldn't find a way to get a hold of the person. It just said "Repair disk did the trick". People, if you find a solution to your own problem, POST the solution!
    Thanks in advance!

Yea, I saw that kb article. I verified we have the early 2009 iMac. It's an iMac 9,1 (3.06 24-inch, A1225).
As far as different hardware, I really don't think so, but I'll have to double check with my fellow employees. The specs all match up, but I'll see if anyone remembers having to replace hardware or send it into Apple.
I did think of trying an external DVD drive too, I'll see if I can scrounge one up. I'll post if it works or not.
The employee using the machine knows Windows, but is willing to learn the Mac OS X. Diversify your experiences I always say!
An added note to the Repair Disk "solution". Turns out you can't run Repair Disk on NTFS partitions or the parent hard drive that contains that partition, which makes since. I can only run Repair Disk on the HFS+ partition which did no good. (This is, of course, from booting up using a Mac OS X Install DVD).
    Mac_Win, thanks for the suggestions!

  • Error 0x80300024 When Installing Windows 7 Using Bootcamp

Hi.  I'm trying to install windows on my mac mini.  I have a 2010 mini server with dual 500gb hard drives.  I want to have one disc for apple and the other disc for windows.  When I try the install I get the windows error 0x80300024.  After some research I found a straightforward, but not easy solution.  It seems windows freaks out when it sees more than one physical hard drive.  Therefore the solution is to disconnect the cables for the other hard drive, install windows on the target drive, then reconnect the cables to the other drive.  I rather not tear open the mini and do this as it looks a little painful.  Anyone have a suggestion on how to get around this?  And yes, I know it's a windows issue but i figured there must be some mini users who've experienced this issue.
    Thanks.
    Craig

    Hi Graig,
One possble solution here, with maybe alt key to boot your Windows installer instead of the c key...
    PrincessPeachJun 17, 2009, 06:48 PM
I just installed it today (twice actually, after changing my mind about something) so I can tell you how to do it. What I did was completely ignore Boot Camp and used Disk Utility to format the intended Windows drive as FAT32/Master Boot Record. Then I just rebooted with C held down and the Windows 7 CD took care of the rest.
I have a 2009 Mac Pro so all my drivers etc were on my OS disc. If you need to burn the drivers, by all means use Boot Camp just for that part
I got a warning in Windows 7 that Boot Camp had issues with the RC but it has been rock solid so far.

  • Error 0xc00000e9 when installing windows 7 on OSX lion

I have a mid 2011 model of macbook pro i7 15 inch , and i just upgraded to OSX lion from os leopard . I tried to install windows 7 via bootcamp 4.0 , and the download for the windows support software always hangs at mid point , and must retry several times before it completes. After which when starting to install windows 7 , at the screen where it says loading windows file , suddenly there is an error of 0xc00000e9 , and i could not continue to install after which , even though i have removed all USB. Is there any way to solve this or do i have to downgrade to bootcamp 3.0 to install the windows 7.
    Thanks

No downgrade, what you need to do is head to Bootcamp and delete the Bootcamp partition
Then head to Disk Utility and Erase Free Space with Zero. this will take some time and write zeros' to all your spare space on the drive, it also reads those zeros back to confirm and when it can't do that the driver software will map off the problem sector on your drive.
Once that's finished, use the Bootcamp software again and Windows should install.
You should learn about Carbon Copy Cloner and WinClone so you can restore OS X or Windows

also read this, if your not going to be using Windows heavily or for 3D games, then this might be a better solution that dual booting.

I am tring to install with the archive WindowsTechnicalPreview-x86-EN-US.iso on a VirtualBox Configuration for Windows 8.1. (32 bits)
The parameter for hardware acceleration VT-x/AMD-V is enabled.
I have created before other virtual machines with other operating systems without issues.
All those machines have been created with the last updated release of VirtualBox what is 4.3.16. and that is the same one that I am using this time.
    Thanks in advance

Do you have hardware support for virtualization on windows 8.1? Ensure that your VT-x/AMD-V acceleration is enabled also enable this feature in the BIOS setting menu.
    Follow the given steps:
Reboot your computer and access the BIOS section> Advanced -> CPU Configuration
Click to enable the "No-Execute Memory Protection" option.
Go to Exit section. Choose Save Changes and Exit
    Restart your system.

  • Error 0x80300024 when installing Windows 7

I have a problem with my MacBook Pro Mid 2012: I used Windows 7 on my HDD and a SSD via USB. Then I went to an Apple Authorised Service Provider and replaced the optical drive with the HDD and the SSD is now there, where the "normal" hard drives are.
No matter what I do, I get error 0x80300024 if I want to install Windows 7 on the HDD, which replaces the optical drive. It works on the SSD, however. I replaced the SSD with another HDD and it works too, so I think that Windows is only bootable on the primary SATA connector, but not on the secondary, where the optical drive was. I tried using the Master Boot Record as well as FAT or just made the hard drive empty. Still the same issue. Windows says that the controller is not activated in the BIOS, but there isn't any BIOS on the Mac, at least no BIOS settings.
Interestingly, it works if I unplug the SSD, so that just my HDD is connected. So I guess Windows has difficulties by recognising two SATA controllers. So I can install Windows 7, but the problem is that "no bootable drive" is found if I connect the SSD again. So Windows is not only uninstallable, it is not bootable too.
Now I would have to options: install Windows 7 on the 120GB SSD, which wouldn't be enough for OS X plus Windows or switch the HDD to the primary SATA connector and the SSD to the other one. This would cost 60 Euros again and I can't believe that there is no other solution.
Did anyone else experiences the same issue or has a solution for me? I just want to install Windows 7 on the HDD and it was working on my old 2009 MacBook Pro, but now it's not working and if I search on Google I just get solutions for the Mac Pro (there it was the RAID, which caused this issue). Others, like Mac mini users, who are using two hard drives, solved this by formatting (FAT32, Master Boot Record and/or just emptying everything and selecting "empty space"). This didn't work for me

For my MBP late 2011, I had a SSD in both the main and optibay spaces.
I installed windows on the optibay SSD drive and was able to boot via option key.  I had to first create a mbr partition on the optibay SSD.  I then had to open up the MBP and move the optibay SSD to the main slot and reinstall my DVD drive.  I then installed windows 7 via CD and eventually bootcamp drivers.  After install, I removed DVD drive and moved optibay SSD back to optibay and reinstalled main SSD drive with mac osX.
now I have a rMBP and bootcamp is an even different beast.  see macrumor post:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1414769
The rMBP needs a FAT partition to be able to install to a thunderbolt drive.  Now my prediction is that the 2012 MBP may have similar requirements in order to install and boot from optibay HDD.
You can try to test via my method.

    Hello all,

I was able to run the installation for CS5 without any issues until it got to encore.  everything else installed without an issue but it refuses to install encore.  I have installed the same master collection on another machine, a little older than the new dell, and it installed flawlessly.  But on the new machine, no dice.

  • Error 0x6 when installing windows 7 home premium onto windows xp

So i downloaded the college priced Windows 7 that i bought from microsoft. I know there was a issue with everyone not getting a ISO file, they got 3 seperate files (setup2.box setup1.box and Win7-HP...) I then followed the steps microsoft gave to make those into a ISO file and to burn it onto a dvd.  But whether i try to install from the desktop or from the dvd, when in the "backing up files" first part of the install, the error "0x6" pops up. What is this ? How can i fix this?

This is how I got around Ox6 problem.   My computer had XP for many years and must have collected lots of junk along the way.  After all the backups of personal file, I did clean reinstall of Xp (including the formatting of the disk).  Basic
Xp installed without any updates and all.   Then I went to Windows 7 install.  Here also I did the custom install so that nothing is lingering from the XP installation.
Another tip.   On my hard drive I had two partition. C drive with 10Gb and D drive with the rest.   Windows 7 got installed on C.   When I went into do windows updates the space was not sufficient on C drive.
The total space needed was greater than 10 Gb.   Therefore I went back one more time for the installation.   During the custom installation you have the option to delete that C drive and make it one drive.  Now I have one drive and
insufficint space on C does comeup.
