Satellite L505 - decimal button and '8' button on numpad not working
hi
my decimal and 8 buttons on my laptop's numpad don't work. it seems to work after a few minutes of keyboard bashing the alt+ctrl+shift+fn+arrows buttons, then as soon as i move away from my computer it stops functioning again. does anyone have the button solution to turn them on? also, does anyone know how to disable this?

BIOS suggestion was really for if the WHOLE keypad wasn't working from new. Windows driver problem (corrupted) would be more likely than BIOS issue. Although I think the whole keyboard is on the same driver. You could check if the keyboard driver is working properly (start->control panel->system->device manager) or try re-installing the keyboard driver.
It's most likely a hardware problem though which the BIOS or Drivers won't fix. You need to take it for a service and will obviously need to pay to have it fixed. Lots of people have reported similar problems on the internet.

Obviously you need to use the correct software for the correct model of computer or you could make things a LOT worse.

Try resetting the bios defaults as follows.
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at f10 as soon as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu. Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Another option worth trying if the above doesn't help is a 'Forced Reset' ( this doesn't affect you data or operating system in any way ) - the method for your particular Model can be found on the following document.

When watching movies after choosing Maximize movie to full screen movie controls no longer work. You must first hit ESC to get out of full screen mode before controls work again. I have seen this on 3 different sites. This is a new problem. And the problem seemed to start after FireFox prompted me to download a new version of Flash.

Your above posted system details show multiple Java Console extensions.
You can uninstall and remove Java Console extensions, you do not need them to run Java applets.

Satellite C55-A-1N1 and Windows 8 - i5 is not working
I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite laptop and it was working completely fine for the first two months. I used to shut it down using the power down option and everything was fine. Then, three days ago, it was taking extra long to power down. Normally it took about 2 minutes; this time it had gone 1 hour and it was still in the process of shutting down.
I was frustrated and held the power button down until the screen went dark and the laptop went off. The next day, I turned it on and it loaded up fine, however once it reaches the Windows 8 page, the screen turns blue and as if it refreshes itself and returns back the homepage. This happens every three seconds making it impossible to open any applications. I have checked if any buttons are pressed down and there aren't any that are and the laptop is fully charged. I have assignments due in very soon and getting work down is near impossible at the moment.
Any help will be appreciated greatly.
Thanks.I don't know what is wrong there but what you can try is to reinstall original recovery image using HDD recovery option.

MY screen continually freezes up. I've tried closing all apps that are open and have held down the home button and start button simultaneously but neither helped. Can someone out there help me?
Well the next couple of things to try would be to reset all settings, and if that doesn't help, it's probably time to restore the iOS software.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. That will take all settings on the iPad back to factory defaults. It will not delete anything and you will not lose any data, but you will have to enter all settings again ...WiFi passwords, enable Siri, select your wallpaper, adjust brightness, turn on location services and set privacy settings, etc, etc.

Should you decide to restore the iOS, it is extremely important that you back up first so that you can restore from the backup and then sync with iTunes afterward in order to restore all content back to the iPad. It is all covered in the kb article.
If you do not sync with iTunes, then I assume that you backup with iCloud. In that case you can erase the device in Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings. Once again, backing up with I loud is I,operative before you do this so that you can restore from the iCloud backup after you erase the iPad and start over again with activation.

My phone is dead it will not turn back on after taking a step I have used in the past when I have had issues with the phone. In the past I haeld the top button and the button on the face down and it will turn black then the apple sign comes up then off. I can then turn it back on and it seems to be reset and all is good not so today. It will not turn back on.
1. Plug phone into AC adaptor and charge for at least 30 minutes
2. If not on, reset phone: press both home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears.
If no reponse to above, there is hardware damage and you need to take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country. -
I tried updating my iPod, and ever since it has not worked at all. If I hold in the lock & home button, it will tell me to plug it into iTunes. Once I do that, it says it will restore but every time, restoring it fails. My iPod is not working at all, and I really have no idea what to do. It is just a black screen, and occasionally the white apple will appear as if it were turning on, but it won't turn on. I just need some suggestions on what to do!

When my Ipod touch is in autolock I can only restart the device holding the sleep/wake button and home button at the same time for 10 seconds. While in auto-lock it is using battery power and will do so until the battery is drained. Whats wrong?

Hi,
This is for my wife's iPhone 4
She was on a call and went to end the call and the phone just turned off.
Left it on charge for an hour or so and nothing.
I tried the old reboot (home button and power button) and nothing
I tired with the sim out.
And with it plugged into a PC, opened iTunes and it didn't recognize that the phone was plugged in.
I tried my PC and nothing.
My phone charges and connects to both PC's
Tried holding the home button then plugging into PC
Tried holding the power button then into PC
I've now been trying different combinations for about 3 hours and now I'm all out of ideas.... :(
Please please can some help before Tuesday when I will have to find someone to repair it.

What is the difference between "System" buttons and boolean buttons?
I'm writing a VI with an event structure that allows me to push different buttons to control external instruments, but I found two types of buttons worked: "System" buttons and "Boolean" buttons. On the surface, the functionality seems the same: I can write the VI so that either one works, and they work in the same way, but which one is right?
Here is a little more info on what I'm doing. I have a case structure that has one "timeout" case, which just measures the position of a movable stage. Another case, if a "system"-type button is pressed, moves the stage to an absolute position. Another case activated by a "boolean"-type button moves the stage to the zero point. I could switch these and it would still work, but I don't understand how the buttons are different.
Also, right now I'm using the "run continuously" function so that the loop just repeats. Is this the right way to do it? I could put everything inside a loop, and make my own stop button for it. Would that be better? Worse? --> I think I found the answer to my own question: run continuously will stop and start the code at each instance, so a while loop will be better because it doesn't start and stop repeatedly. (True?)

You never want to design your program to have to use the run continuously button. It is more for debugging than anything else. Using a while loop with your own stop button is the preferred method of doing things.
The System, 3-D, and Classic Booleans all basically work the same. The appearance is different. The System buttons look like your OS buttons that you see on all your other programs. The 3-D were introduced in LV6 and remain standard across different OS's and are not affected by System color changes or System theme changes. The classics behave similarly to the 3-D, but they are the older controls that existed prior to LV6 and have been kept for legacy's sake.
There are arguments for using system controls vs. 3-D controls (I don't think most people use the classic controls much anymore). So, you really have to make a personal decision as to which you prefer to use. NI pushes the system controls, but you'll notice there is a large number of controls which are not available in the system pallette. I have made versions that look like system controls, but they do not automatically update for theme or system color changes. -

i have connected it to itunes like i was told to do and it wont do anything because its locked with a passcode and its frozen on the lock screen and will not let me enter myt passcode and after a while it just shuts off, it has been doing this for almost 48 hours. I was told to hold the home button and power button to shut it down and that I could then restart it and it would work... Nothing has helped, What can I try???
Reset the device by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.
If that does not resolve, restore the device via iTunes on the computer.
If all else fails, take the device to Apple (or whomever provides support in your country) for evaluation and possible replacement.
