How can i update my hd5650 card?
thank you very much,i am new here at the forum

Yo see, a Toshiba display driver has a an overheating protection and it's modified. I mean, if you try to install from Ati driver page you will get a message like ,, no compatible hardware found in your laptop,,. So, you should try from toshiba driver page but the problem that it can be not up to date. Anyway, go to toshiba diver page and check what version is available for your model. If it's newer than installed onw, you can update it. But before, remove the previous one, reatrt the lap and install downloaded one. As I mentioned above, look here:

  • Satellite L650-10H - Multiple Win 7 entries in boot manager

I have Toshiba Satellite L650-10H and i recently reinstalled my Win 7 64-bit.
There is no problem at all except that at the notebook start i get this [http://tinypic.com/r/se7uja/6] .
3 Win 7 entries in the boot manager
I have to always choose the first one and everything is fine.
Its like the old copy of win didnt remove although a i have formated the discs...
Is there any option to get rid of it?
I dont mind reinstalling again if i know it will help .

    > Just wonder if i remove the program after i made the changes, will it stay or it will pop up again at startup?
    No, the changes will stay.
    > And the second problem is that it solved my problem just partially.
    >I would like to somehow remove the 2 copies of Win that i dont need if it is possible.
    >This program just "hide" them.
I assume you installed both OS on different partitions right?
In such case just remove/delete the partition where the other Win 7 systems are installed.
You can do that in Disk Management (right click on My Computer -> Manage -> Disk Management)

This is really unfortunate. I'm sorry that nothing works. I was going to mention holding down the power button and doing a force shutdown but you already did that. You might need to take it into the Apple store. I don't know if booting into safe mode would help. You would have to turn off the machine again, hit the start button and hold down the shift key after you hear the tone, but normally you would let go of the shift key when you see the apple logo and spining wheel. Maybe by holding down the shift key after you here the tone will cause the screen to come back on? The other option is to start up from the 'install disk' if your machine came with one. You would insert the disk, then shut down the computer, and hold down the C key right after hitting the start button.

  • XI Post Installation: Cannot see Business Service Test

    Hello Everybody,
    I have installed XI.
At the stage, Checking the Installation Part 2:
I have to create a new Business Service: Test
Save the service and then Activate the Change List.
I did all of that, but when I enter transaction SXI_CACHE on the ABAP side and then double click SERVICES, I cannot see the Server: Test .
Does anyone know why this Test Business Service does not appear ?
Also, I have not yet installed the SLD, can I have an XI system without an SLD ? If I want to install the SLD, can I do this as a separate step from SAPINST or can it only be done as part of the XI installation ?
    Thanks,
    Petr.

    Hello,
I have checked in the Change List TAB and it is empty, if I change the search to include closed then I can see my Business Service.
When I open SXI_CACHE on the ABAP side the Services are empty and if I try to clear the SXI_CACHE with F6 or Shift-F6 I get this error:
    Unable to refresh cache contents
Error during last attempted cache refresh
    Error ID Business System
    LCR_GET_OWN_BUSINESS_SYSTEM_SLD_API_EXCEPTION
Could this be caused be me not yet installing the SLD, and as I don't yet have an SLD I didn't to the SLD related parts of the XI post installation tasks ?
    Thanks,
    Petr.

  • New Jabber user cannot see (only) one of the added buddies

Running ichat server, just a handful of OD users. OD is on the same machine as Ichat server. Nothing is limiting the use of Ichat by any of the OD users. Server G5 10.4.9, Clients managed Intel Imacs 10.4.9
    Added a new user.
New user can add buddies in the Jabber List.
New user can see all but 1 of them in the List.
One of the buddies, lets say UserX, can see the new user in her Jabber List.
No matter what we have tried from within Ichat the new user cannot see UserX.
Both users are members of the same groups and have matching access abilities.
Any suggestions. Thanks for looking at this.

New user can see all but 1 of them in the List.
If I understand it this correctly, 'new user' can see all other buddies except one. And all the other users can see this buddy.
Lets call the new user "userX" and the one they cannot see "userY" and lets call your ichat server "jabber.myserver.com"
The configuration files for users buddylist is stored in the spool di rectorywhich you can find at /var/jabber/spool/. In there you will find a directory the matches the name of your ichat server. For me that is jabber.clayford.com. In this directory you will find one xml file for eash user of ichat server. Their file name is the OD logon name for the server.
Stop the ichat server service and make back up of any files you edit before you start.
Open the file for "userX.xml" In this file you will see some xml code that starts <item jid='[email protected]' subscription='xxxxxx'>. there will be a number of them, one for each buddy.
Mke sure the xxxxxx is the word 'both' [with the quotes] and if the text ask='subscribe' exists in that line before the >,remove it. So that definition should now be: <item jid='[email protected]' subscription='both'>.
Save the file and now open the file userY.xml and check that the item <item jid='[email protected]' subscription='both'> exists.
Restart the ichat server and the problem should be fixed...

  • Satellite L650-10H PSK1JE - no external signal on TV using HDMI

I connected my Toshiba L650-10H PSK1JE with TV KDL-26BX320 using HDMI cable. Switched Win+P (Fn+F5) to expand the screen. TV has no signal (black screen) but computer recognize TV. All drivers are updated.
    Settings screenshot:

If it doesnt work and if you are sure you have used right HDMI port, then you should check if this issue appear using another monitor.
Try also do reinstall or update the graphic card driver Could be necessary in this case
I can recommend you just such few common ideas because there is no typical solution for such HDMI issues.
You should connect both devices with an HDMI cable but both devices should be powered OFF.
Then power up the TV, choose the right HDMI channel and then power up the notebook.
After the unit has been booted up, use the mentioned Fn F5 to enable the output on the TV

  • Very new to this: Cannot see code for a package in SQL Developer

I know I'm doing something wrong but I certainly don't know what. I'm looking for the code to go along with a package. I can see the procedures the package calls and I can see a list of procedures but I cannot see the code for those procedures. I have tried using describe on the pop up and I just don't see anything but a window showing me the parameters the procedure will use. I want to see the code it will use.
Can someone walk me through this or point me in the right direction?
    TIA

I can only assume you're on 2.1 or 2.1.1 since you don't even say. If you click on the tree showing the various objects after establishing your connection, when you get to packages and you click the package you want, you'll see the spec. Now click on the plus sign and there should be 'package name' body. If you click that body icon, you say you still can't see the code?

  • Satellite U940 PSU6SA - Win 7 installation ask for HDD drivers

    Hi
not sure whether to put this under 'Windows 7', Mods please move as needed.
I have a Toshiba U940 PSU6SA-02K002 ultrabook which came with Windows 8 (not Pro) and I would like to install windows 7 on it. It has a 500 GB Hitachi and a small 32GB mSATA SSD.
It is already running Toshiba's latest BIOS 1.30.
I have turned off secure boot and UEFI, can boot and start the windows 7 install from USB but it is looking for extra drivers that I can't work out. I have tried various windows 7 drivers that Toshiba had on their site for the 940 Ultrabooks but without luck. (Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver, Intel Chipset Software Utility, USB 3 driver and Intel Display Driver).
I'm unziping the drivers onto a separate USB and the install is finding them but they don't seem to be what it is looking for.
Any suggestions or a guide? Thanks

What you need is SATA driver that must be loaded before Win7 installation starts.
Please download it from here .
Ive used it to install Win7 on my U940.

  • Satellite L650 (PSK1EA) New installation - how to?

    Hi,
my hard drive in the L650 (PSK1EA) recently broke.
I intend to purchase a new one and replace it only problem is that i never backed up my old one.
i know i'm going to have to buy windows again but what other stuff do i need,
where can i get it and when do i install it (before or after windows)?
    thanks in advance

It depends on you what you want to do exactly. You can buy original Toshiba recovery disc (follow the link posted by PauPau) or you can install OS using original Microsoft installation disc.
If you use original recovery disc everything will be installed properly and you must not install anything. Recovery image contains OS and all necessary drivers, tools and utilities. And the most important information for you is that this version must not be activated.
Second option is usage of Microsoft installation disc. After OS installation you must install every driver, tool and utility one by one. All of them can be downloaded from Toshiba download page http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
Please note: this version must be activated and you must buy licence code.
This second option is more complicated so I strongly recommend you to order original recovery disc. You can use it without limitation and so often you want.

  • Problem - new MacBook Air cannot see external HD

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help, as I have seen similar questions in the forums, but not with an answer that helps me solve my problem.
Ok, I have a new MacBook Air running Lion (bought last year), a MacBook Pro running Leopard which is approx 4 years old and a Windows Laptop.  I use the MacBook Air for Work and when travelling (weekly with work), the MacBook Pro for home and managing my other apple devices (iPad/iPhone etc..).  I no longer use the PC, but there are loads of files both work and home, I wish to keep on an external HD for use with both Apple Laptops.
So, the external HD used to work with the MacBook Air when I first bought it (a couple of weeks ago) and formatted it with the MacBook Air, but it couldn't be seen or used with the Windows PC.  When I formatted it with the Windows PC, I could use it with the MacBook Air but could not write to the disk.
So I have now partitioned and formatted it with the MacBook Pro running Lion, but now the MacBook Air cannot even see the disk in Disk Utility.
My MacBook Air otherwise runs absolutely fine with no problems, and the MacBook Air is a critical piece of kit that I use on a daily basis to do my job.  As such, I have no appetite for deleting any drivers etc... from the MacBook Air as it could originally see the disk and I do not want to make a mistake and cause myself problems.
So the question is, how on earth do I get the MacBook Air to see the drive again in Disk Utility? So I can do the partitioning and formatting there, this drive is of no use if can only be seen by the MacBook Pro.  The drive is a portable USB powered Toshiba 1TB disk Part Number: HDTB110EK3BA.
Am going to wait for some suggestions, my next thought is to erase everything using the windows PC assuming it can see it, and then see if the Mac Book Air laptop can see it in Disk Utility... no other options left really.
I hope someone can help, otherwise I may be off to buy a new disk and could hit the same problems again!
    Thanks
    Alex.

Toshiba Acknowledges MacBook Woes in Canvio USB 3.0 Hard Drives
By Christopher Price on December 27, 2011
Following tests conducted by PhoneNews.com, Toshiba has acknowledged an issue affecting their Canvio USB 3.0 hard drives. The issue prevents current-generation MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models from properly connecting and powering up the drives.
Read more to see our findings, and the resulting (ongoing) investigation by Toshiba.
We began our tests based on tips from readers like you, and went out and purchased five (yes, five) Canvio USB 3.0 drives, along with a brand new 2011 MacBook Air.
Drive problems happened immediately, and were relatively isolated to the MacBook Air. Of all the systems we tested on, we were only able to reproduce issues on a Sony VAIO laptop late in our testing, as well as a current-gen MacBook Pro.
Essentially, the drives failed to mount, and in most tests never even spun up on these systems.
The Canvio USB 3.0 hard drives have sat under many people’s Christmas trees, as they were hot sellers during Black Friday. Retailers like Office Depot slashed prices on the slim, 2.5-inch drives down to $79 for a 1TB hard drive. With coupons, Radio Shack was selling the 500GB model for a mere $39.
Canvio USB 3.0 drives tout on the box compatibility with USB 2.0 systems, including both Mac and PC. The advantage of a Canvio USB 3.0 hard drive for a MacBook owner lies in Thunderbolt. Purchasing such a drive today can achieve USB 3.0 speeds with upcoming Thunderbolt-to-USB 3.0 adapters. USB 3.0 mass storage was designed to be fully backwards compatible with USB 2.0.
To get to the bottom of the problem, we probed the five Canvio drives purchased, in an effort to better understand the issue. And, we were able to isolate the problem; the Canvio USB 3.0 drives draw more power than the USB standard permits. The drives were drawing, upon connection, slightly more than the five watts that the spec allows. And, the new MacBooks appear to promptly shut the device down because of this.
Why? Well, Apple can assert that this is to protect the MacBook Air/Pro from a malfunctioning USB device. However, the answer really lies in tablets. Apple allows iPad and MacBook to perform a hardware handshake, which then allows Apple devices to draw 10 watts from the USB port. This is why you can charge an iPad directly on a Mac, but not on a PC.
Apple does not want to allow rival tablet manufacturers (Android) to have the same access to Apple’s USB port. Hence, any device (like a tablet) that wants to draw even slightly more than five watts, is shut off from communicating with the Mac. We affirmed this by testing a powered USB hub. With a powered hub connected to the hard drive, and the hub connected to the MacBook, the drive instantly came to life, and worked without issue.
This creates a bit of an odd situation; Toshiba is technically in the wrong for making drives that technically breach USB specifications… but Apple seems to be the only manufacturer to enforce this aspect (as well as breach it with their own devices).
Toshiba, to its credit, has owned up to our issue, right down to our suggestion to them that a powered hub works around the issue. Quoting an official statement in response to our research:
Toshiba DPD has identified an isolated USB connectivity issue between the Canvio USB 3.0 drive and currently shipping MacBook Pro and MacBook Air laptops. The issue involves the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air being unable to recognize the Canvio USB 3.0 drive when connected directly to the laptop USB 2.0 port. Toshiba is actively working to remedy this USB connectivity issue. In the interim, Toshiba recommends MacBook Pro and MacBook Air users employ a powered USB hub to connect their Canvio USB 3.0 drives.
We have asked Toshiba if they intend to inform retailers to accept returns for affected drives, or if they will offer some form of refund program in the interim. Retailers such as Office Depot do not permit refunds on opened technology items, including Canvio drives. Toshiba has said are looking into that aspect of this problem, and will get back to us shortly.
In all, we spent a few hundred on hard drives, and confirmed the issue. Unfortunately, because it is a power drain concern, Toshiba will likely have to offer an exchange program to fix it. We seriously doubt that this can be fixed at the firmware level. Theoretically, it’s possible a USB cable replacement might be able to mitigate this issue however, so there is hope that Toshiba won’t have to recall a bazillion hard drives.
Update: As a follow-up, Toshiba has informed us that they have completed their investigation, and will replace affected drives.

  • New v7 installation cannot access any help/online features via photoshop

Hi, have just bought new version 7, and having problems when trying to access help, on line support, photoshop elements online and one line learning resources. any online access automatically opens up MS Word 2007 (have Office 2007) which then just shows the hyperlinks via a word doc.
I have reinstalled 3 times, each time, complete uninstall, cleared rubbish bin, registry and temp files etc plus rebooted computer after each installation. I have also shut off nortons virus and firewall before installation. Also followed putting full file installation onto desktop and install from that, again to no change in my access. This is annoying as I would like to have direct access to the help files, and online learning.
Even when the first screen pops up giving you the options to go to organizer, edit etc, anything I click on that will not open any internet web based access.
I am using a fairly new laptop, only a few months old, has Visa Home Premium, Internet Explorer V 7.0.6 and I generally keep everything up to date with updates but confused by this problem.
Any suggestions on the problem would be great. I am a registered user and own all the disc's this was not a download of the program. Have not had this problem before with any versions, including from Version 1.

I wonder if this Adobe tech note applies:
    http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_kb409025_en-us
It describes the situation in which the Windows registry settings for the HTTP protocol are damaged, so PSE doesn't know which browser to open when it tries to do some Web operation (such as opening online Help).   It seems similar to your situation -- it appears that perhaps somehow Word has been configured as the "browser" on your system!
Since this involves modifying the registry for a core part of your system (handling HTTP), I'd follow the instructions extremely carefully (they included making a backup of the registry).   Better set a Windows restore point before undertaking this.

  • Re: Satellite R850-12R PT52CE Win7 doesn't see SSD disk

I have Toshiba Satellite R850-12R PT52CE notebook and recently bought Adata SP900 256Gb SSD disk.
BIOS can see this disk, but after I tried to instal Windows 7 64bit SP1, at Step where I need to choose place to install, there is nothing shown.
    So I can't choose anything.
    What can be a problem?
I tried to search AHCI drivers for Windows 7, but found only for XP.
At BIOS I tried to set AHCI also Compatible mode, but no success also.
It would be nice if somebody could share solution.

Hmm you should use the package from Intel page:
    [Intel Rapid Storage Technology|http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&keyword=%22Intel%C2%AE+ Rapid+Storage+Technology%22#]
There is an package called Intel Rapid Storage TechnologyF6 Driver Diskettes this contains files which you could add by pressing F6 while setup procedure.
