Satellite L750-1RV WLAN deactivated after boot or sleepmode

Hello,
last week I deactivated WLAN adapter via Fn-F8. After that I swichted it on via Fn-F8 and it worked again.
But after Sleepmode WLAN didn't work.
Looking on Fn-F8 it shows "On". Either I have to switch "off" first and than switch"on", or I choose "all on" (WLAN and Bluetooth) to have WLAN working.
After having a look in forums I checked for new WLAN driver and I tried to deactivate in DEVICE MANAGER the option "Computer can switch off this device in order to save energy" (sorry, this is my translation from german Windows). But nothing does help.
WLAN is still not active after boot or after sleep mode.
Pls advice.
Thanks and greetings!

Hello paolo30,
thanks a lot for your help.
*It is working in the meantime!*
As already described was your suggestion my fist try already some days prior to my question in this forum - but without success.
Yesterday I had a unusal long boot at startup.
After login I had to start WLAN manual as it was in the last days.
Then I read your message and realized, Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power was already unchecked due to my first action some days before. Then I toggled it and did restart again.
Then in worked! After reboot WLAN was automatic working - as it should be normal.
In the meantime I have this option unckecked again and I'm happy with it.
Altough I'm not aware at all, what the rootcausewas, WLAN is working now from the beginning.
Thanks a lot for your help!
Greetings!

  • Satellite M200 monitor turns Off after boot & battery won't charge

    Hello, I'm from Jakarta, Indonesia
I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite M200 Notebook (Running Windows 7 Home Premium)
after i press the power button to power up my notebook, It works fine showing BIOS and Windows Boot Screen,
but after that my monitor just suddenly turn off when Windows supposed to show login screen.
sometimes the monitor don't turn off, but shows lower resolution (i don't know exactly what resolution, maybe 1024x768 or 800x600, i'm using 1280x800)
so the only thing i can do is press the power button again to shutdown improperly then press the power again to power up, my monitor works normally
try to shutdown then power up again in couple hours later, the problems comes again.
from the moment i install Windows 7, i use 8.15.10.1930 driver version (downloaded from Intel Download Center, which included Intel TV Wizard)
2 days ago my friend said that i should install the driver from Toshiba's support site, so i went to csd.toshiba.com and download the 8.15.10.1825 version from that site (which not included Intel TV Wizard )
my monitor works normally after I installed the driver i've got from csd.toshiba.com, so i think that the problem because Intel TV Wizard somehow messed up with my notebook. But this morning this problem comes again, my monitor just turns off suddenly ..
besides this problem my battery seems like failed to recharge, Windows shows my battery has fully charged, but when i plugged out my AC adapter,
it just remains for 15-20 minutes before my notebook shut down automatically
three months ago i just brought my notebook to local Toshiba Service Center and bought new motherboard to replace my old mobo (which have a VGA issue too!)
there's something i can do (related to Windows or software/driver) or i have to bring my notebook to the service center again?
are they somehow make a wrong wiring when replacing my motherboard?
and am i have to replace my battery pack too?
i've been using this notebook for about a year and half and there's nothing wrong with my battery before replacing the motherboard
any help would be appreciated :D

well, i can't find my model's driver in Toshiba Europe site,
in Satellite M series it only shows M100 and M70 and not including M200
i found http://pc.toshiba-asia.com which covering my region. after choosing my product they give me link to download Windows 7 driver, here's the link
    http://support.toshiba-tie.co.jp/windows7/download/Satellite_M200_32_sp.htm
    Windows7 Driver | Intel Display Driver | 8.15.10.1825
they have the same driver version (and same size too) with my current driver i've got from csd.toshiba.com
any other ideas besides the driver issue ?

  • Satellite L750 BIOS trouble - cannot change boot order

    Hello reader/answerer of my questions,
I am having some trouble with my 750 ODN's bios. This bios was an official update (3.6) from the support centre, and almost everything has been fine since (the plot thickens!). I decided one day I wanted to dual boot with linux, in particular Fedora (this is not related to it though).
But, when I burned the disc and tried to live boot (too test it out) I found that the boot order was set to hard drive first! I rebooted and pressed f12 - didn't work.
I tried delete and escape - neither worked. I then tried all the f keys - none of them worked.
Every time it took me to Windows boot menu, and I explored that and I couldn't find anything.
It's also worth mentioning I am running Win 7 SP1.
I tried both PLoP and osloader (too boot from the dvd) - neither worked.
I also can't remember what the key to start the bios was originally - oops!
Also the toshiba logo with instructions never appears.
I would really just like too change the boot order though, the rest of the bios I don't need access too right now.
A separate issue is that Windows randomly decides it wants to check my hard drive, which takes ages, and it won't give up until it gets to check it. I think it may need some medical help.
But, any help, from a qualified doctor or not, would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Mitchell

    Hi
    > I also can't remember what the key to start the bios was originally - oops!
Pressing F2 while powering up the unit would help you to access the BIOS.
But you dont need to change the booting order within the BIOS. You can do that by pressing F12. This should be done immediately after you have powered up the notebook.
Then the boot menu would appear and you could choose the right boot device.
    Does it functions?

  • Satellite L750/755 - No connection after Windows Updates

HI, I have a brand new L750/755. network adapter is atheros.
after installing the windows updates (85mb, framework 3.5.1, security updates) There is no way to connect to the internet.
The laptop will still find any accesspoints, but only connect with limited connectivity or no internet access.
I had to restore the laptop to before the updates installed to fix this.
how can I get round this issue, or failing that how can I get these updates to stop intalling on shut down?
    thanks in advance
ps I had already tried installin the latest network adapter drivers, changing the power settings, and connecting to other routers. nothing worked.

    > I had to restore the laptop to before the updates installed to fix this.
Do this and after doing this disable automatic Windows update. When you do Windows update manually, install important updates only. Before you start update check listed optional updates and disable driver updates.

  • Satellite L750 system hangs after disconnecting the WLan

I bought Satellite L750 series laptop on that i connected Wifi. if i disconnect Wifi then system get hanging. I cant do anything in that. I updated driver software and i checked all the possibilities as my knowledge.

    >if i disconnect Wifi then system get hanging.
I assume you are using Fn + F8 to enable/disable the WLan.
    Right?
Did you try to recover the system in order to check if this is a system problem?
I think you should do that and should recover the notebook using HDD recovery procedure
Power up the unit, press F8, choose Repair my Computer, choose HDD recovery and follow the instruction on the screen then you will get the system with factory settings.
    Then test the WLan.

  • Satellite L750 - Wireless LAN is Off, no connection to my home WLAN

Hello, I am having some issues with my Satellite L750. It has a wireless adapter called Atheros AR9002WB-1NG, which seems to be acting up.
When I turned my laptop on I noticed it wasn't connected to any networks, so I looked and found it couldn't find any. I checked on my phone (on which I am writing this) and there is my network and many others that are available for connecting, and mine works fine on my phone. I tried resetting the router and nothing happened, and I could still connect on my phone and tablet.
I delved into the wireless software and found something called "ConfigFree". In this I found "Connectivity Doctor". This said that there was an issue with the adapter, and then after further examining I found that it said that "Wireless LAN Off" next to a red image of a switch.
Does anyone know how to turn it back on?

TosHdpAPI.dll belongs to Toshiba Bluetooth stack software
So I recommend reinstalling the Toshiba BT stack in order to fix this!
The Atheros Wlan card seems to support the Bluetooth too.
So to be able to use Wlan and BT you have to install the Atheros WLan driver, Atheros BT filter and Toshiba BT stack

    Hi guys
    Found a solution here:
    http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/bulletinDetail.jsp?pf=true&soid=3516888
    *Uninstall the Toshiba programs:*
    TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator
    TOSHIBA Disc Creator
Then restart your PC using the Power-->Restart option in Windows 8.
Your CD/DVD should be accessible now.
For help with uninstalling these programs follow the instructions below
*To Uninstall a program or application:*
    1. At the START screen type Control Panel
    2. Select Programs --> Uninstall a program
    3. Find the two programs listed above and uninstall these applications
    4. After the application programs are uninstalled restart your computer using the Power-->Restart option in Windows 8
    5. When the computer power back on the CD/DVD drive should be available
If the CD/DVD drive still does not appear follow the instructions below to uninstall a device driver
    *To uninstall a device driver:*
    1. At the START screen type Device Manager
    2. Select Device Manager > DVD/CD-ROM drives > right click on the device displayed > select Uninstall.

  • Satellite Pro C850 - WLAN keeps failing after Win 7 installation

    Hi,
    I own a C850-1GR (PSCBXE), which comes with Win8.
I've bought Win 7 32-bit Home Premium and reinstalled it from scratch.
Afterwards I've installed the drivers from toshiba support page in the following order:
    Intel Chipset SW Installation Utility
    Intel Management Engine Interface
    Display Driver
    Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver
    Realtek Audio Driver
    ATI HDMI Audio Driver
    SRS Premium Sound HD
    Synaptics Touch Pad Driver
    Realtek LAN Driver
    Realtek Wireless LAN Driver
    Intel Wireless Display
    Realtek Bluetooth Filter Driver Package
    Bluetooth Monitor
    Intel USB3.0 Driver
    Realtek Card Reader
    TOSHIBA Value Added Package
    TOSHIBA Sleep Utility
TOSHIBA Resolution+ Plug-in for Windows Media Player
    TOSHIBA Media Controller
    TOSHIBA Media Controller Plug-in
TOSHIBA Network Device ID Registry Setting Tool
    TOSHIBA Web Camera Application
    PatchFiles PCIIDEREG-1.2
    PatchFiles
When the installation is done, WLAN fails after reboot, alternately.
    This means:
    *First boot: WLAN OK*
    *Second boot: WLAN fails*
*Third boot ( = first boot): WLAN OK*
*Fourth boot ( = second boot): WLAN Fails*
    *and so on.*
Failing means, the WLAN symbol is displayed for a few seconds, then the "no network" icon is displayed.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    >(Why on earth should a device report an error every second system boot?)
Yes, indeed this is very confusing and strange.
    Just one notice regarding:
    >Please note, that the intel driver is for "wireless display".
Intel wireless display works only in connection with Intel WLan card. If your notebook does not contain Wlan card from Intel manufacturers, the wireless display does not work
    >Furthermore, all these drivers are listed on the C850 driver page for Win7-32.
Yes, this is true but all these drivers appear because of different C850 with different hardware configuration.

  • Satellite A205-S4617 Freeze after boot. HELP

I have a Satellite A205-S4617 freeze after boot. I have reformatted the harddrive and loaded recovery software, to no avail. I have run a memory test with no errors for at least 40mins. I have tried reading the hard drive outside to a different PC and it looks OK.
I initially suspected memory, but I tested and no errors on the test. Then, the hard drive i checked using another PC and it was OK. Next possibility is the motherboard, but i ran the memory test on the laptop and it worked without freezing....unless the memory test operation is not connected to the motherboard or not enough to test the motherboard. help.
I then tried running it using Ubuntu booting from the CD, and still it would freeze. So I don't know where to look for next.
    HELP.
    thank you very much.

I too would like to see suggestions on this. I am having the same issue with a couple of Satellite A205's, one is a -S4597 (32-bit), the other is a -S4607 (64-bit.) I have tried multiple operating systems, checked, and changed the RAM, and both system have good hard drives. I've completely torn down and rebuilt both of them, applying new thermal paste, and cleaning them, yet both freeze at about the same spot, while trying to initiize the operating system, after having copied the files over. I'm working on using other computers to install the operating systems on the hard drives, then installing the hard drives back in the machines, and seeing if that works.

  • Satellite L750 turns on and off by itself using Linux

Today I have experienced some strange behaviour on my notebook. It unexpectedly shuts down, after showing a dialog window saying "Your computer will shut down in 60 seconds". And then, when I turn it back on, it just shuts down before booting and it turns back on by itself after a few seconds.
It does not overheat, the CPU temp is normally between 50-60C (I constantly monitor it using Conky). Also, someone told me to upgrade the BIOS, so I did it, but the problem still persists. I have also tried to replace the RAM and run a memcheck, but everything looks fine on the memory side.
I use linux, and had a look on "/var/log/syslog", but I'm not sure I know exactly what to look for. The messages logged before shutting down don't seem to describe anything suspicious.
I use Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, but it seems the problem is more hardware related and I would like to investigate what causes it to shut down so randomly. The same thing happens on Windows, but there's no warning before shutting down.
My notebook is a Toshiba Satellite L750-11w.
Any clues would be highly appreciated.

    >I use Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, but it seems the problem is more hardware related and I would like to investigate what causes it to shut down so randomly. The same thing happens on Windows, but there's no warning before shutting down.
You checked the notebook functionality using Windows system but did you use the Toshiba recovery disk and did you test it using factory settings?
Im wondering about the message: your computer will shut down in 60 seconds
If it would be an hardware problem, then the notebook would shut down without any warning messages.
Therefore I assume there must be an software issue I guess some setting triggers this automatic shut down.
But to be honest i have no idea what setting could be
If you think its hardware related problem, I guess only an notebook technician would be able to help you.

  • Satellite L750 - No bootable device error at start-up

I am getting a No Bootable Device error when trying to start my Satellite L750/755.
Before I try any recovery, is it possible to remove the HDD and connect it to my other PC so that I can get all my photos, music, etc. off it. If so what do I need.
I did this on my old desktop, and bought a HDD caddy with a USB connection, so the HDD just looked like an external drive.
    Many Thanks
    Tim

Yes, you can remove HDD and connect it to your other notebook/PC using external USB HDD enclosure. Using such enclosure you can connect your HDD as external device that should be recognized and listed in Windows Explorer so you can have full access to all your saved data.
Back-up all your data and put the HDD back in your notebook.
Usually if there is no some hardware problem you can start your notebook and press F12 to enter boot menu. When the boot menu is shown on the screen you can put recovery disc info optical disc drive, choose CD/DVD drive and press ENTER button. After doing this optical drive should start to read disc and start to copy data to the HDD.
What you can do before you start to use recovery disc is to enter BIOS and set it to default settings.
Please try all this and send some feedback.

  • Flash Cards do not work on my Satellite L750

    Hello,
I own a Toshiba Satellite L750 PSK1WA-03C00R and my flash cards do not work, the function keys work, but my flash cards do not.
This model does not come with the Flash Card Support Utility, it does however come with the Value Added Package.
I have uninstalled, CCleaned and reinstalled and repeated mulitple times, trying to get this to work properly. I have also restarted after each of these steps.
I can't figure the problem out and thought that I'd see what you guys' recommend before I resort to getting Toshiba's support services.
I also do not want to have to resort to a system restore, but, if I really have to and have no choice, I will when I can.
I hope someone may be able to help me and do look forward to what support you can offer me.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Chris.

    Hello Pedro,
I have checked on thses settings and there is the option to allow the mouse to bring up the flash cards, this will bring up the flash cards if I would like to do that, I would however love to use the keys seeing as the mouse option seems to close any games I may have running and take me to desktop and this is not preferrable.
There is no "Reset Flash Cards" option, I have serched through many files and done many serches for this option and no luck, which is a shame.
Do you have any other suggestions? I would love to have this work.
The reason I did the reinstall was to get my brightness keys to work again. Sure, this fixed the problem, but now I have no flash cards. Any suggestions would make me a very, very happy man.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Chris

Seems like you are running both NetworkManager and [email protected]. Pick one so they don't have to compete with each other.

  • Satellite L750-1WW - OEM Windows 7 home premium reinstall

    Hello,
a few days ago I bought an used (about 3 years old) Toshiba Satellite L750-1WW notebook.
The only matter with it is, that it has Windows 7 Professional, and of course corrupted, but the original OS was Home Premium. This laptop will be my mother's, and I don't want (and she also) to get messages every startup: "This copy of Windows is not genuine" and other stuff.
Another thing: there is no recovery partition! I couldn't make a simple system recovery...
However there's a Product key for Win7 HP 64bit on the bottom of the PC, it does not work on any kind of Windows 7 (Home Premium -Ultimate - Professinal, 32-64 bit), I have tried every possibilities.
I asked Microsoft Community to give me help about reinstalling the original operating system.
They told me to tell my problem to Toshiba, because only the manufacturer can reactivate the system, or reinstall the original OS.
So now, I ask You for some help.
    Greetings,
    Csaba

I don't know where you have bought this notebook but I know, for instance, that many people who sold notebooks on the eBay write in description that notebook has preinstalled other Windows version but notebook has valid product key that can be used for any Windows activation.
Fact is that this information is wrong.
Every Toshiba notebook offered with preinstalled OS has Microsoft sticker at the bottom side but product key on it belongs to original version delivered with the notebook. With other words: this product key s useless.
If I understand you right you have non-activated OS version preinstalled on this machine but also you don't have original recovery installation disc.
    Now you have two options:
1/ To order original recovery disc (link posted by Tonny)
2/ To install own OS version using Microsoft installation disc and pay for valid licence.
In my opinion option to buy recovery disc is best for you. Using this disc in 2 hours you will have perfectly installed OS that will be activated and you will not have any problems anymore.
After clean OS installation all you must do is to optimize it and configure for usage. Thats all.
