Satellite L750 hangs during sleep - BSOD

I get the blue screen daily now - only started happening the last 2 weeks. I know it is a blue screen since I was awaken by a bright blue light this week while I slept. I had enough time to see the screen flash, then saw the laptop reboot.
I think the cause is this - I put the laptop in sleep manually, it seems to "hang" ... because I see activity and the fan continues to run. I can't "unsleep" it from keyboard click, mouse click, etc. I typically then run off to work (or go to bed). When I return, windows has reloaded, and I get the error stating this:
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\042612-20592-01.dmp
C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-34935550-0.sysdata.xml
Any ideas? I'm a step up from novice level, fwiw ...
Thanks in advance.

Such issues are not easy to solve
The point is that BSOD can be caused by system or hardware problems
The before talking about hardware problems, we should discover if it could be caused by some system. It could be possible that some processes running in the background cause this thats one of many possible reasons
The easiest workaround to solve the system problems is a new system recovery.
Usage of HDD recovery option or Recovery disk would set the notebook back to factory settings so check it out before we will start to talk about possible hardware issues.

  • Main thread hangs during sleep

    Hi,
I have a main thread running forever witht the highest thread priority. The main thread checks the database to create new threads that tranfer data from server to client using ftp. After each check, the main thread sleeps one minute. The main thread runs fine for a couple of days. Then it hangs during sleep and and never wakes up.
Any idea will be appreciated. The code is running with jdk 1.4.1.
    Mark

It seems to be a resource problem.
    - Connections - check if your program closes correctly the connections (try ... finally). Ask the DBA if there are "stale" connections - maybe the connections were not being correctly closed sometimes.
    - Memory - check if your program slowly gets more and more memory.
    - FTP - are you closing the FTP sessions after use? Or reusing them? Check if you are running out of FTP connections (you can check it in the FTP server for example).

  • Satellite L750 system hangs after disconnecting the WLan

I bought Satellite L750 series laptop on that i connected Wifi. if i disconnect Wifi then system get hanging. I cant do anything in that. I updated driver software and i checked all the possibilities as my knowledge.

    >if i disconnect Wifi then system get hanging.
I assume you are using Fn + F8 to enable/disable the WLan.
    Right?
Did you try to recover the system in order to check if this is a system problem?
I think you should do that and should recover the notebook using HDD recovery procedure
Power up the unit, press F8, choose Repair my Computer, choose HDD recovery and follow the instruction on the screen then you will get the system with factory settings.
    Then test the WLan.

    Hello!
I have problem using Toshiba Software Installer for Win 7 on Satellite L750-1MT (PSK30E-02T002B3) with no OS preinstalled.
    I do the following:
    1. Install Windows 7 x64, SP1.

You are right this notebook model was delivered without OS.
Win7 64bit is supported for this notebook model and all necessary drivers, tools and utilities are available on Toshiba download page.
What I can say is that all this stuff must be installed in right install order. I know it sounds stupid now but I recommend you to make clean OS again and continue installation following this installation order:

  • X200 hangs during restart or shut down when connected to ultrabase

My X200 hangs during a Windows restart or shut down when I'm connected to my ultrabase.  The laptop appears to go through most of the processes to restart/shut down but eventually hangs at a blue screen with unmoveable cursor (note, not a Windows BSOD). I'm forced to perform a hard shut down to turn off the laptop.
This hang at restart/shut down only occurs when I'm connected to the ultrabase.

Just as a thing to try, and this is assuming that you all have an integrated camera, please try this camera driver and let the board know the results:

  • My MBP won't boot from my Expresscard SSD after I took it out during sleep!

Before this happened I booted my Macbook Pro from an Expresscard SSD. Oddly enough you can take it out while the computer is sleeping. This time though I took it out and inserted it in another computer to transfer files. I put it back in and woke the computer, and I started getting weird messages (ex. Evernote didn't work because it couldn't read its database,) and other things. Now it simply hangs on the Apple logo during startup.
Does anyone that knows what exactly happens to a drive during sleep, and while being read by another computer? What I can do to avoid reinstalling OSX on the drive?

+Oddly enough you can take it out while the computer is sleeping.+
What makes you think that? From your description, it's obvious that you corrupted the contents of the drive. You can try "Repair Disk" in Disk Utility, but most likely you'll have to reinstall. I wouldn't trust any of the data on it now.

  • Mail hang during large message download

I've noticed several times when I get emails that either exceed the auto download size threshold, or have large attachments on them that Mail will 'hang' during the download. I can exit out of the message but it's still spinning away and won't get any more email from the server.
I'm using a Pop email account. The only fix I've found is to "magic power cycle" the mail app using the sleep button / home key hold down. Once mail starts after this the message will fully download. It's been happening for a while, but I wanted to be sure it wasn't a fluke.
Anyone else run across this & find an easier workaround?
    Thanks,
    Dave

I have been having no end of problems with email since upgrading to 10.5 about a month ago.
Generally, after some time, various activities hang around in the Activity window (such as "evaluating message n of m") and prevent normal email updates and quitting. Neither Apple support nor the local Apple Genius were able to assist. Even reinstalling the OS (10.5.2, 10.5.3, or 10.5.4) and rebuilding the user account manually did not work. I tried running "Sample Process" in Activity Monitor on Mail.app and noticed a lot of "semaphorewait_signaltrap"s that seemed to be related to AddressBook. This led me to the following process which has (at least for now) fixed my problem:
    1. Quit (or Force Quit) Mail.
    2. In Address Book, use File>Export>Address Book Archive... to dump the contents of the address book.
    3. Quit Address Book
    4. Rename your ~/Library/Application Support/Address Book folder to something else (in case you want to restore it later)
    5. Start Address Book
    6. Use File>Import>Address Book Archive... to restore the contents of the address book
It may be voodoo, but it worked for me.

  • K8N Neo 2 Platinum -- Hanging during boot --RESOLVED--

    Heres the problem...
My system will hang during boot at anytime, from bios initalization to full windows boot (No BSOD ever and where the pc hangs in the boot proccess is totally random). And the only way to get past the hang is do a soft reset. I have to restart my system up to 3 times before I get a good boot, but once the pc is up and running, it stay running till I shut it down. (no hangs)
Now if I shut it down after the system has been running for a while, the pc will restart normally without any hangs. The hangs only occur after the pc has been down for a time.
I have reseated all the connectors, the memory (even tried different slots), add-in cards, cpu.
I have a clean install of Windows XP Pro (hard drives have been repartitioned and reformatted as NTFS)
All fans are spinning up fine, all temps are within norm, power supply voltages are within norm.
No phsysical signs of bad caps on the system board.
I ran ran Memtest86 for 18 hours striaght with no errors.
Ran CPU stress test with no problems.
    No IRQ,DMA,etc conflicts found.
Windows records no errors during a freeze and I have checked for unwanted services/proccess as well.
I have tried min install to no avail.
Bois is retaining its settings (so bios battery is good)
I do not over clock anything. Bios is set to discover all important setting automaticly. (Bios setting are the same now as they were 6 months ago)
I am down to a possible cold solder joint on the system board?
This problem started to occur about a month ago.
If someone has seen this exact problem and has a resolution, well I would appreciate it if you passed along your knowladge
I am down to my last option of RMAing my system board. No. I have not replaced any components due to the fact I don't have extras lieing around nor can I spend the money just to troubleshoot :(

Ok I won't go into all the details of why I missed this but it turns out the northbridge heatsink fan had stopped spinning and thus the hangs during boot due to overheating (hhmmm, when I step back and look at this the symptoms point right to overheating).
This also expains why after several attempts at booting up, once the pc was up it would run like a champ. The chip would of course overheat and cause random freezes. Now due to the placement of the chip and the design of the heatsink once there was enough airflow over the heatsink the chip would remain cool enough to prevent further freezing of the system.
What helped to facilitate this is that I have a ducted fan system installed in the bottom of my case which directs a substantal amount of fresh air to the pci slots, the chip set and the AGI slot as well.
So what have we learned class?
    1. check the obvious
    2. do a complete physical inspection of your system
    3. KISS  -- keep it simple stupid

    • Supports the memory size up to 4GB
    • Supports 2.5v DDR SDRAM DIMM
Due to the High Performance Memory design, motherboards or system configurations may or may not operate smoothly at the JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) standard settings (BIOS Default on the motherboard) such as DDR voltage, memory speeds and memory timing. Please confirm and adjust your memory setting in the BIOS accordingly for better system stability.
    Example: Kingston HyperX DDR500 PC4000 operates at 2.65V, 3-4-4-8, CL=3.
For more information about specification of high performance memory modules, please check with your Memory Manufactures for more details.
Manually adjust your ram voltage to 2.65 volts and then manually adjust your ram timings to 3-4-4-8-2T.
If that does not work then do as Richard suggested and strip down to a bar-bone system, this is CPU+fan, 1 stick of ram (try other stick and different slots as one may be bad), graphic card and PS-2 keyboard, if it boots fine without any problems then add one device at a time until you find the problem.
Post back results as there are more things one can try but lets start with the simple stuff and work up.

  • Difference between Satellite L750 and Satellite L755

    Hi All,
What exactly is the difference L750 and L755 . Isnt it the same thing ?

The Satellite L750-124 and Satellite L755-16T supports the same motherboard.
The chipset is the same but only the CPU was different.
    >But I have to remove my keyboard for the constant beeping sound to stop which comes up during POST in bios.
For me it looks like the POST (power on self test) cannot be passed because of the keyboard.
I would say the keyboard was affected too but if you already tested other keyboards and if this did not solve the problem, I guess the keyboard controller is faulty.
_Regarding the other parts like card reader and webcam._
The webcam module is connected to the USB controller on the motherboard.
In case you did not connect the webcam module properly, the webcam will not be recognized.
As far as I know the card reader is embedded on the system board. So if card reader malfunctions, the connection is defective and system board maybe faulty too.
However, as suggested by Dr.Lamp, after motherboard replacement, the DMI info needs to be updated using special tool. This can be done only by Toshiba authorized service partner.

  • Satellite L750 - drivers installation problem

Hello good people of the internet,
I have a problem with drivers' updates/installation on my Satellite L750-1E3, Windows 7-64 bit.
When I launch the installer, it decompresses, telling me it will launch afterwards, but then the window closes and nothing further happens.
I've read about the same problem one person here had with the L855-10P series but, maybe because I'm a girl or maybe because I'm not a native English speaker, I didn't uderstand what to do...
I actually have problem with more things.
My webcam stopped working, when I try to launch it I get the error message that tells me "the initialization went wrong, restart your webcam or computer".
So I tried to reinstall the driver but the problem I described above appeared.
The same driver installation problem appeared when Tempro told me to update my blu-ray driver (I download all the drivers from eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com).
And the last one, for about a month there are problems with the sound on my notebook.
First cracking of sound and then it stops working completely and I have to restart the computer.
Again, I tried to reinstall the sound drivers.
There are two drivers on the Toshiba site, one of them reinstalled just fine but the other one (nvidia, I think) had the same problem as the other drivers.
Someone please tell me what to do, because I am becaoming really desperate and I seriously considered throwing my notebook out of the window.
    Thank you

Usually the HDD recovery is the easiest to get the notebooks factory settings and to get it running again.
    >My webcam stopped working, when I try to launch it I get the error message that tells me "the initialization went wrong, restart your webcam or computer". So I tried to reinstall the driver but the problem I described above appeared..
Its interesting to know if the webcam or an unknown imagine device (probably webcam) appear in device manager. Please check this.
If the webcam isnt listed there, you should check if the webcam is enabled in BIOS.
To access the BIOS press F2. Then go to Advanced tab -> System configuration -> webcam
If the webcam is enabled in BIOS but still not recognized and not listed in device manager, then you should recover the notebook to factory setting to check if the webcam module isnt faulty.
    >The same driver installation problem appeared when Tempro told me to update my blu-ray driver (I download all the drivers from eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com).
The Blu-ray player update works only for notebook equipped with blu-ray drive. If your notebook does not support blu-ray drive

  • Flash Cards do not work on my Satellite L750

    Hello,
I own a Toshiba Satellite L750 PSK1WA-03C00R and my flash cards do not work, the function keys work, but my flash cards do not.
This model does not come with the Flash Card Support Utility, it does however come with the Value Added Package.
I have uninstalled, CCleaned and reinstalled and repeated mulitple times, trying to get this to work properly. I have also restarted after each of these steps.
I can't figure the problem out and thought that I'd see what you guys' recommend before I resort to getting Toshiba's support services.
I also do not want to have to resort to a system restore, but, if I really have to and have no choice, I will when I can.
I hope someone may be able to help me and do look forward to what support you can offer me.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Chris.

    Hello Pedro,
I have checked on thses settings and there is the option to allow the mouse to bring up the flash cards, this will bring up the flash cards if I would like to do that, I would however love to use the keys seeing as the mouse option seems to close any games I may have running and take me to desktop and this is not preferrable.
There is no "Reset Flash Cards" option, I have serched through many files and done many serches for this option and no luck, which is a shame.
Do you have any other suggestions? I would love to have this work.
The reason I did the reinstall was to get my brightness keys to work again. Sure, this fixed the problem, but now I have no flash cards. Any suggestions would make me a very, very happy man.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Chris

  • Satellite L750 will not open path

    I have a new Satellite L750.
I am trying to do a course on my computer which I have purchased the disc for.
The course has paths to click on that are to link up with the files downloaded from the disc supplied to a folder in WINDOWS (C:) Program Files(x86).
The problem I am getting is that the path fails and a warning window comes up saying the path file can not be found, On looking at the file information on the warning window, it appears that the file has been doubled to include an extra WINDOWS (C:) Program Files(x86) so it reads: C:\Program Files(x86)\C:\Program Files(x86)\...........................
So obviously it will not find the file.
Why is it doing this, and how can I cure it.
It would make doing the course so much easier.
I have contacted the course provider and they are not sure why this is happening.
Also what is the difference between Program Files and Program Files(x86) folders.
    Anybody got a clue.

    > Why is it doing this, and how can I cure it.
Do you really think that this is a problem with a computer or Windows system software?
    I doubt.
Firstly I would trying to copy the content of the disk to the new created folder.
Then go to this folder and check if there is a file like autostart or index which needs to be started firstly.
    > Also what is the difference between Program Files and Program Files(x86) folders.
    The difference is simply:
I assume you are using Windows 64bit so Program Files refers to the 64bit programs and Program Files(x86) folder refers to 32bit applications.

  • Is it possible to upgrade GPU on my Satellite L750?

    I have a Satellite L750,Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit,Intel Core i3-380M Processor,640 GB in hard disk,4,096 MB DDR3 RAM (1,066 MHz),Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD.
I'm sure by now you know why i want to upgrade my graphic card, everything is good except my graphic card, this is like a nightmare to me because now i can't keep on playing the games i used to,which are so many,so if an expert reads this thread, please help me.
Is there anything I can do?
Any advice or suggestion would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

GPU upgrade is not supported and cannot be done. Due to specific design and hardware configuration hardware upgrade is very limited.
Graphic card with more power produce more heat and that is the main problem by mobile machines. Cooling system designed for your notebook is optimized for certain graphic card.
