Satellite L750D-1DM - outdated display driver

Hello,
I have a question does any1 know if theres gonna be any new Display drivers because the generic drivers from AMD.com don't work and the ones here are pretty outdated?
Also I have upgraded the Laptop with an extra 2gig RAM and wanted to give the graphics chip some more but I can't seem to find to option anywhere in the BIOS so if any1 knows how to increase the shared RAM for the graphics chip please tell me
thx in advanced

FYI: my Notebook is the Satellite L750D - 1DM PSK32E

Shared RAM works automatically and you will not be able to change anything. With more RAM more memory will be used for graphic operations.
With display drivers for notebooks is always a bit complicated. Due to specific design and especially cooling system GPU performance must be always under control. It is the reason why GPU manufacturers dont offer direct support.
I think nobody here can say much about further Toshiba support. Maybe some newer machine with the same GPU uses newer driver.

  • Satellite L750D-15E AMD Display driver

    Hey :)
I have the Satellite L750D-15E laptop (amd a6-3400m quad core APU with Radeon HD 6520G) with win7 64bit.
The latest update for AMD display driver for my comupter is from 2012:
    http://www.toshiba.co.il/innovation/jsp/supportMyProduct.do?LNG=29&service=IL#tab3;
There are a lot more updated drivers and there are a lot of new video games that require updated drivers.
Is there a way to get more updated drivers?
When I try to use the AMD driver auto detect (When trying to download the driver that was detected) it shows me an error that the version of my graphics adapter isn't supported.
I also updated the bios to version 2.10 to see if maybe that solves the problem but it didn't.
my Video BIOS Date is 05/10/11.
    Please help,
    Lee.

    Hi
Display driver for mobile units is pretty limited and notebook manufacturers don't offer some updates very often. Problem is that hardware performance, especially graphic card performance, must be under control and it is controlled by display driver.
With new driver graphic card will offer more performance but with more performance GPU will produce much more heat and it can be very dangerous for al mobile machines.
Cooling system for notebooks is optimized for certain hardware platform and if hardware cannot be cooled down properly result can be either overheating or hardware damage. Thats the reason why you cannot install these non supported drivers. Toshiba don't want to be responsible if you use some third part driver and later come to service with damaged graphic card.
I know it is a bit annoying and everyone of us want to have good machine with high performance but thats the problem with notebooks in general.
To be honest these L models with AMD platform are good notebooks but not some gaming machines so I don't think you can do much about that.
Of course BIOS update has nothing to do with all this.

I often have problems with my notebook about the nvida controller. Sometimes it appears the next message on the task bar down right: Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version187.98 stopped responding and has successfully recovered
I installed the new drivers from nvida web, (Version187.98 to197.16), but the problem doesn't go.
    Anyone could help me, please?

What a load of rubbish changing a theme just does that changes your theme I did this the day I brought mine still the drivers crash and re-start. huh.

  • Satellite C850D - troubles with display driver

    Hey everyone
I'm having some trouble trying to find the video drivers for my Toshiba Satellite C850D.

i have just downloaded the latest nvidia display driver for satellite 2450-201 from toshiba and now the display has gone worse the driver is 3.6.4.8. for nvidia gforce 420 go what shall i do i have tried rolling back it wont let me! and i dont have a sytem restore point either is there some settings in nvidia help!

    Hi
Usually the original Toshiba driver should works properly and without any errors.
In you case I would recommend starting the OS in the safe mode and then to enter the device manager.
There you can select the Display adapters area and there you can uninstall the graphic driver.
Then download the right driver from the Toshiba page and install it again!!!

  • Satellite M30 (PSM33C-00100E) - Display driver for Windows 7?

I had no difficulty installing Windows 7 Home Premium on this computer. The only changes I had to make were installing the XP drivers for nVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 and SD Host Controller.
Granted I'm only getting performance level 1 due to my old video driver, but I'm still satisfied with my computer's performance using this operating system. Are there any Vista drivers for the nVIDIA GeForce Go5200 that will work on an M30?

    Hi
I have a little bit searched using Google and I founded out that your model is listed on the Toshiba Canada website:
    http://www.toshiba.ca
I have checked it and I can only find drivers for Windows XP It seems that your model supports only this OS.
Is Windows XP not an option for you on this oldie? I think this would be better choice for this notebook.
Otherwise you have to search on external websites for display drivers or you try a display driver from another notebook series Maybe it works.

  • Satellite Pro A60: ATI display driver keeps breaking down

I have had my Sat pro A60 Laptop for about a year now.
I have had a few problems with it since I got it but the main problem has just occured within the last 6-7 months.
The ATI display driver keeps on breaking down and in order for it to work I have to restart the system. This has been an ongoing problem for quite some time and it's now getting rather irriating. It does it at the most inconvenient times like when I am watching a DVD or listening to a CD.
Sometimes when I put the computer on standby, the display doesn't even start up again and the screen remains blank. In order to sort this out I have to switch off the laptop and then restart it. The main problem I have put this down to is overheating as it can get quite hot when I use it.
I sort of know how to sort this problem out, just by clearing dust from the fans. But if there is any other solution to this please help.
    Thanks!

    Hi
Mostly the overheating happens because of the dirt and dust inside of the cooling modules. The fans cannot work properly and cannot spin with full performance.
I think you should check the fans. I think the easiest way to clean the fans is to use the vacuum cleaner hose against the fan grilles.
About the display issue: In your case I would recommend firstly to update the display driver. Additional if the OS runs since a long time on the notebook so maybe a new OS installation form the Toshiba recovery CD would help.

  • Satellite Pro A100 (PSAACE) - Display driver for Windows 7

    Hi,
my A100 works in Windows XP correctly (video: ATI Mobility Radeon X1600), but in Windows 7 video is standard graphic 4 MB? The required driver in Toshoba-Downloads (95MB!) doesn't work - no compatibility hardware? So Windows 7 is in virtual env. slooooowly...
    Can somebody help me?
    Thanx.
    Minnikon

    Hi Minnikon,
And why does the display driver from Toshiba page not work? Do you get an error message or something else? What happens exactly?
Generally speaking the chipset driver should be installed firstly. Then you can install the display driver from the Toshiba page.
    Check this!!!

  • Satellite Pro A100 (PSAAPE) - Display Driver download

Hey I uninstalled my nVidia drivers by accident. I thought my laptop didn't have an nVidia card so I uninstalled them. Apparently it needs them. I went to the nVidia site and using it's new beta Graphics driver scanner it determined I needed an nVidia GeForce Go driver but it was unable to supply it. I searched the support sites for both nVidia and Toshiba furiously for the last hour but I've come up dry.
Could someone please find a download of this driver? I can't find it anywhere. I'd really appreciate this as I can't even watch a youtube video on the laptop now since the display drivers are gone. I have no backup or shadow copies because I only have 20GBs of HD space and I needed to conserve it. There's now way I can roll-back now.
    Please help someone.

    Hello
Can you please send us the exact notebook model number (A100-xxx) and also the whole part number (PSAAPE-xxx)?
It seems to be that some models are delivered with Intel graphic card. I just want to try to check hardware components on your notebook.

  • Satellite A500-1GF - Nvidia display driver restarts constantly

    Hi,
I have a Satellite A500-1GF with the latest Nvidia drivers installed and it the driver keeps crashing constantly. It gives a black screen, a popup message and then restarts the driver. After a few minutes it happens again.
Card type is Nvidia GeForce GT 330M
    Driver 257.21
    Windows 7 64bit
Google gives me hundreds of hits but no solution.
    Anyone a clue?
    Tx,
    Roel

I recommend checking the Toshiba driver released for this notebook model.
You can also check some threads here in the forum about BSOD which could be solved by other driver update.

  • Satellite P100-400 - Compatible display driver for Windows 7

    Hi,
I've just installed Windows 7 x86 rtm, and I can't install the graphics driver (7900 gs)... Anyone know of some that are compatible?
P.S.- I already tried to install them in compatibility mode, but didn't do anything...
    (Sry for my bad english...)
    Thank you

    Hello
What driver did you already try to install?
Normally the most Vista drivers are also work on Windows 7. So you can try the Vista driver from the Toshiba website.
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
If it doesnt work you can maybe get a driver from nVidia directly. But be careful with these drivers. They are not pretested and dont have an overheat protection. You could damage the graphic card.

  • Satellite P300: Display Driver has stopped working using external monitor

I have a number of these Satellite P300 PSPCCA-OC201Y and recently bought external monitors for them.
Since then we seem to be getting "Display Driver has stopped working and has recovered" messages, then after about 5 of these, it crashes.
Starting with one machine, I have updated display drivers, bios was current, all to no avail.
I then did a complete system restore back to original. Has not solved the problem.
    Any ideas?

    hi Keven Dickenson,
as you said you restored the system and still there is no way to get things work it may be a hardware issue...
i my opinion you should consult a servicepartner to check this out...
is there any of the machines working with the external monitor at all?
if none of them is able to connect to ext. display maybe your installation has a problem or the monitor is faulty...
try it with another monitor and recover one system to factory installation....
