Satellite L855-10W - cannot use AMD Dynamic Switchable

Hello every body,
Fistly sorry for my bad english,
I have Toshiba satellite L855-10w with a AMD radeon hd 7670m.
I'm wondering, why i can't use AMD Dynamic Switchable and also why i can't find Intel HD 4000 that must be integrated witch Intel I7 3610qm in my system configuration?
What do you think about this?
Thank you very much

Hi
I read somewhere in the internet that the AMD Dynamic Switchable feature is not supported on Toshiba notebooks.
It seems that only nVidia Optimus Technology (for notebooks with nVidia graphic chip) is supported.

  • Satellite L855-13G - cannot use the Webclaim service

    Hello,
I bought a Toshiba Satellite L855-13G (PSKACE-04Y00CFR) in France last year but this computer is already causing me troubles!
The graphic card is making noise, one of the USB port is not working and now, without any software change, the computer shut down after displaying a blue screen with "KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR".
This blue screen comes randomly (let us say about two or three times per day).
I would like to send this computer for reparation but now I discover something very weird: Toshiba has done all the possible to hide L855-13G!
First of all no result on the website:
    https://www.google.co.uk/#q=%22l855+13g%22+site:toshiba.com
Second, the model is not listed in the support center:
    https://www.toshiba.fr/innovation/generic/SUPPORT_PORTAL/
When I enter the serial number: no result. Also using the "Ou slectionnez votre produit" the model is not listed.
Third, and best, I cannot access the Warranty claim service for a Toshiba product for this computer: when I go on https://weblord.toshiba-tro.de/Webclaim/ and I fill the serial number, the computer is identified (alleluia), I have a green tick for Warranty status and "Your product is still in the warranty period."
But then, I cannot click on next and a mention "Product not available: Unfortunately your product is currently not available" is displayed instead.
So... apparently Toshiba is doing is best in order to forget about the Toshiba Satellite L855-13G but for the persons unlucky enough to have buy one what are the next steps?
I would like to be contacted by someone from Toshiba in order to get an answer, or a proposal to change my computer or at least to repair it!
    Many thanks in advance,
    Best regards.

    > I would like to be contacted by someone from Toshiba in order to get an answer, or a proposal to change my computer or at least to repair it!
First of all I would like to provide you some inforamtions about this community.
This is an user to user community where you could meant Toshiba enthusiasts. You will not find any Toshiba people here
Now some details regarding the notebook fix:
In case your notebooks hardware started to malfunction, you could contact the Toshiba authorized service provider in your country in order to fix the hardware problems.
Here on this Toshiba ASP page you could find all ASPs available worldwide:
    http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/
Last but not least you should know that warranty covers only the hardware problems.
So in case the notebook does not work properly due to some software issues, the warranty would not cover the costs. Therefore I would recommend you to recover the notebook back to factory settings BEFORE you would contact the ASP.
I hope this info helps a little bit.

    Hello,
I've just bought Toshiba Satellite C855d-10w 2 days ago, but I can't seem to install Windows 7 OS.
It doesn't even want to start, as it shows me that a CD/DVD driver is missing
. I spent the whole night searching for the driver on the internet, both on google and toshiba website, but I can't seem to find any.
I can only find the drivers which I would have installed after the installation of the OS.
Now I am running on Ubuntu, everything works perfectly except the wireless connection (the wireless button is not recognized by the system),

  • Re: Satellite L850-0C9 - Cannot use USB3.0 External HDD

    Hello!
I'm looking for some help from you guys
because i cannot use my NEW SEAGATE USB 3.0 EXTERNAL HDD 2TB with my labtop (L850-0C9)
my labtop has 2 blue USB port and i guess it is USB 3.0 and i checked it from manual.
but when i tried to copy data to the hard disk, and after 1 minute then it keeps showing the message "the destination you have specified does not exist". it happens everytime.
but i found one interesting point of it that it works great with usb 2.0 port so now i'm using it with that port.
it shows that the hdd doesn't have problem but my laptop does in my logic.
so i updated almost every drivers and firmware from support page icluding intel usb 3.0 driver.
but it is showing the same message as before.
Does anyone know how to solve it?
Have a nice easter holiday anyway!!

nope! it is without AC power unit.
but it is working okay with usb 2.0 port..

  • Satellite 3000 x11 cannot use its network card

On my friend's satellite 3000 x11 I'm trying to configure it to connect to my uni halls internet, but to do that I need the MAC address. If I do ipconfig it just says "Windows IP configuration" and nothing else.
If I go to device manager there's no category for network adaptors, even though I can see the ethernet port on the back. Its almost as if it doesnt know it has on-board LAN.
Back home her brother used to use it with the built-in modem , but not the ethernet port.
    Any ideas?

    Hi
Some Toshiba models have an RJ45-port (Ethernet) but nothing behind it - means no network controller. The machine is prepared for LAN but no LAN built in.
So you have to get f.ex. a PC Card to hook it up to the LAN.

  • Satellite L40-139 - cannot use FN function with Windows 7

    Hi
I have Satellite L40 - 139 PSL40E laptop, I was using windows Vista. When i was use Vista, i could use "FN" key for sound or others but then i setuped the Windos7 but now i cant use "FN" key for sound, becauze i cant find acessibility driver for Windows 7 that according to my laptop model.
what can i do ? how can i find ?
    thnx

    Hi Buragh,
I agree with the user above. You have to install Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility. Both tools you can download here:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
In forum there are many threads about FN keys. They should be useful so did you read it already? ;)

  • Lost COM/LPT ports on Satellite A10 and cannot use modem

My Satellite A10 has lost ports and I can't use my modem.
    What can I do ?

    Hi
I think you should delete the modem from the device manager. Then reboot the unit and the OS should recognize the modem again. Then you can install the modem driver again.
All this should be done automatically and you dont need to add any ports.
The properties should be enabled if you have the administrator rights.
    Thanks and good luck

  • Re: Satellite L750-1XH - cannot use preinstalled Win7 Home Premium

On starting the laptop, no access past named user screen unless in safe mode. Hit user name the screen goes black.
All ideas appreciated, wife has an essay to do for college this week!

    Unbelievable lets summary:
You power up the notebook and can see the Toshiba splash screen on internal display.
The notebook boots up into the Windows system (I assume Win 7), you can see the Windows login screen (user icon) where you can choose the user (profile) you want to use.
After clicking on this user icon the screen is black and nothing is visible. Right?
How about connection external screen just to check if something would be visible on the 2nd screen? Try also Fn + F5. This key combination switches between external and internal screen.
But if it would be an software problem, the system restore/recovery should fix it.
Try also to restart your computer tapping on the F8 key and select Repair Your Computer.
This will open the System Recovery Options window. Select Startup Repair. You may also try System Restore to restore your computer to a point prior to this issue.

  • Satellite A100 - I cannot use the Lexmark X3330 printer

I have a Lexmark X3330 printer that is set as default however I can't print to it. The Pdf doc seems ok and recognises the printer but just does nothing when you press "print".
All drivers have been updated - any suggestions?

    Hi!
Make also sure that the printer is not in offline mode.
Check this in printer and faxes => right click on the printer => open => printer => remove the mark from Use printer offline.
Check the manufactures website for a driver update.
    Bye

  • Satellite Pro L300 - Cannot use Intel ProSet WLan tool with Win XP

Hi! I have same problem. I have installed an XP SP3 and I can't use the *Fn+F8* hotkey to switch on/off the WLAN function. Other Fn keys operate properly. The wlan also operates, but it can be used only by windows built-in function. The Intel ProSet or Atheros programs don't work. It seems "no wlan driver installed". The card is a Realtek 8187B, downloaded the driver from Toshiba original support site. What can I do?

    > The WLan also operates, but it can be used only by windows built-in function. The Intel ProSet or Atheros programs don't work
If the WLan works fine using the Windows zero configuration then the WLan card is enabled and dont need to use the FN+F8.
The point is that your 3rd party WLan configuration tool doesnt work because your WLan card is *Realtek!!!!*
The Intel ProSet works ONLY with Intel WLan card and the Atheros Wlan configuration tool can be used ONLY if your have got a Atheros Wlan card.
Youve got Realtek so use the Windows own zero WLan configuration!

  • Re: Satellite L855 - Intel Core i7 - AMD radeon 7670M - Major graphical crashes

    Please Please Help me.
I have bought this laptop recently not even a month old and it's starting to become very laggy at times.
When watching videos the video's lag and show random colored squares, and often the whole computer crashes showing only blue and white lines.
Few minutes ago the screen crashed, came back with black lines through my screen and half of the desktop was stuck to the other side:(
Also when playing games it shows black squares on the screen.
I do have about 400GB of downloaded movies and files if that may cause this, but that shouldn't because it's a 1 TERA hardrive.
    I have tried everything:(!
Neeed any help please! Please! I don't want to resort to sending it back to the manufacturers because that would take weeks :(

    > When watching videos the video's lag and show random colored squares, and often the whole computer crashes showing only blue and white lines.
In my opinion its more hardware as a software related issue. However in case its software / driver problem, the system recovery should fix it.
    > I have also looked at trying to restore it to factory settings, however when I go to system restore that option of formatting it completely to factory settings is not there.
What system do you use? Win 7.
In case you have Toshiba preinstalled Win 7, press F8 while powering on the unit.
Then choose Repair the computer -> HDD recovery
In case you are using Win 8 check this:
    Windows 8 Recovery & Repair
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm
    >I just don't want to end up sending it in, don't want to be without a laptop for 3 weeks
Im afraid if its hardware problem, you will need to contact the service for a fix.

  • Satellite 2430-301: Cannot use 2200BG WLan card because switch is off

    Hi there,
I have a Satellite 2430-301 which was not deliverd with any WLAN capabilities. But I discovered, that there is a MiniPCI slot in the laptop.
So I bought an Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG MiniPCI card. After I attached the card into the laptop, it was detected by windows as a new network device. I downloaded and installed the Windows XP drivers (because I have Windows XP installed on the Laptop) from Intel's homepage (9.0.4.17). The installation worked perfecly.
Now I tried to connect to a wireless network, but the Intel software said, that the card is 'off'. So I switched the drop down menu to 'on', which resulted in an german error: "Die Intel(R) PRO/Wireless-Netzwerkverbindung ist noch deaktiviert. Aktivieren Sie sie ber Ihren Hardware-Schalter." (which means something like "The Intel(R) PRO/Wireless network connection is deactivated. Activate it with your hardware switch.").
Although the switch already was in position 'on', I switched it several times - nothing important happend. The LED light near the switch doesn't light in either position.
Are there any incompatibility issues between "Toshiba Satellite 2430-301" and "Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG"?
    Did I do something wrong?
Is this damn hardware switch broken?
    Any suggestions?
I would really be happy, if someone could help me :)
    Thanks in advance,
    thuriel

I now pressed Fn+F8 several times. The laptop did not react.
In the property box in the advanced tab in the 2200BG properties there is only:
    Ad Hoc Channel
    Mixed mode protection
    Power Management
    Preamble Mode
    Roaming Aggressiveness
    Throughput Enhancement
    Transmit Power
    Wireless Mode
...so there is no "radion on/off".
The LED light remains off, no matter what I do.

  • Audio commonly buzzes and stutters on my Toshiba Satellite L855-S5405

I just upgraded to windows 10 and the audio stutters and buzzes despite using little to no softwares in the background. I disabled the audio enhancements yet I still get stutters and buzzes. Summary
            Operating System
                Windows 10 64-bit
            CPU
                Intel Core i3 @ 2.50GHz
                Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology
            RAM
                4.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz
            Motherboard
                TOSHIBA Portable PC
            Graphics
                Generic PnP Monitor (1366x768@60Hz)
                Intel HD Graphics 4000 (Toshiba)
            Storage
                698GB TOSHIBA
            Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio Also, in the Drivers and Software Windows 10 64-bit Filter, all the drivers have no indications that they're made for a specific toshiba model. Are those drivers for any toshiba laptop in general? Would I be able to update my Satellite L855-S5405 drivers using those?

As you can see HERE, your computer is not supported by Toshiba for Windows 10.  If you want to stay with Windows 10, you might try going to Realtek's site and see if you can get an audio driver from them that works on Windows 10.

  • Cannot adjust brightness after display driver update on Satellite L855-118

    Hi.
I just bought an SATELLITE L855-118 , with ATI graphics today, it was between this and another one, but i know you have problems updating graphic drivers on a Sony-notebooks.
    I made a restore point.
So i uninstalled the ATI catalyst and then did an driver sweeper, and re-booted and then installed catalyst 12.6 , installed fine, but my screen went to maximum brightness and i cannot adjust it, the brighness osd appears but the screen brightness does not change.
So i used my restore point.
This time i overwrote the stock catalyst 8.9 with 12.6, just the same cannot adjust the brightness.
Does anybody know how to fix this.
My full spec in the link below.
    Satellite L855-118 - Product Specifications - Toshiba
    Thanks
    John.

This is not going to help you, but I have details on the internals of brightness control on this machine.
On other notebooks I've worked with, the hotkeys generated an event that was directly handled by the firmware (ACPI) that changed the brightness; this was done to avoid putting into the AMD video driver any system-dependent code.
On the L855 the ACPI does not really handle the notification, it just generates another event that is supposed to be handled by the video driver. For more technical details see:
Now this is where it gets ugly: if brightness control is indeed system-dependent (e.g. you have to poke some random GPIO) then the AMD driver will never support it (it would have to know the details of each and every model in circulation).
The good news - at least for Linux users - is that AMD just published the specification of its ACPI interface:
I've already done some experiments with it, keep an eye on the thread.
This may (or may not...) lead to a usable brightness control *for Linux*, but the same information *may* be used to create a similar driver for Windows.
