Satellite L875D-S7332 sound issues on Win 10 upgrade

Hi all, I upgraded my Satellite L875D-S7332 laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 this weekend, and have been trying to troubleshoot a sound problem since.  The sound appears to hitch intermittently (every 10-20 seconds or so) emitting a buzzing noise from the speakers. I tried updating to the most recent Realtek HD audio drivers and rolling back my Realtek drivers, both of which made no difference.  When I revert back to Windows 8.1, everything sounds fine again.  So I think it must have something to do with the sound card or driver's compatability with Windows 10, but I could be wrong. Windows update wants me to upgrade again, and I'd like to, but the sound's got to function right. Specs:Satellite L875DAMD A6-4400M APU with Radeon Graphics 2.7 GHzRAM: 6.00 GB I'd appreciate anyone's help, as I'm at a loss at the moment.

Wow - sound like you are having a bad time of it with the upgrade.  If you have an AMD APU processor - which I assume you have, like A6, A8 etc.   Usually AMD has integrated drivers for both the video and the audio of the computer.  Have you gone to AMD's website with your specific APU  (Integrated Processor and GPU) to see if they have updated drivers for Windows 10?   Your laptop manufacturer, (I assume HP) should also have them, but HP seems to be asleep at the switch with this OS release.  Check out the AMD site and do a search for your specific APU.  There should be some integrated drivers for Windows 10 posted.  Usually you just execute the .exe file and it installs everything.  It would be worth a shot anyway before you revert back to Windows 8.  And....yes you can easily roll back to your last Operating system.  Here's a link to an article on how to do this:  http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/windows/how-downgrade-windows-10-to-windows-7-8-3615606/

  • Sound issues after win 10 upgrade

I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 yesterday (August 1, 2015).  The update went smoothly. However, there is no sound on my computer. The sound icon in the tray has a red cross and says, "No speakers or head phones plugged in," when I hover the mouse on it. I have AMD Radeon sound card and I have updated the driver from AMD website. Despite all recommended fixes on various forums, including the Microsoft suggestions, there is still no sound. I don't have sound for any music or video. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

  • Windows 7 on Satellite L875D-S7332- Usb Controller not Identified.

Usb Controller not Identified in device drivers.Somehow I just cant get USB Controller Drivers for this laptop and Windows 7. I read all the posts on this site and none of them helped.Do you maybe know the exact drivers so l can add them to windows 32 bit directory and manually install them as all other methods failed. I attach a drivers screen print.

Solved this in an unorthodox way. I had a Lenovo driver disk for a machine that also uses AMD and therefore likely the same chipset. I installed the usb drivers for the Lenovo from the Lenovo disk and it worked ! Attached is all the USB  controllers it now finds.I attach the new screenshot of devices So if anyone have a similar problem, try the Lenovo USB drivers. I find it peculiar that Toshiba doesnt have these USB drivers on their download page for my model Satellite L875D-S7332. Maybe they should add it. It took a good 5 hours to try and fix this using Toshiba's driver page.

  • Fixed sound issues under wine, but would like to know how

I managed to get sound working under wine. I have no idea how, but I did. Ill explain and see if anyone can make sense of it.
So I initially set up kmix to where my primary device was my soundblaster card. I would continuously get errors like "creative blah did not work, switching to 'HD audio generic'.
I would not get system notification sounds but things like youtube and movies would. I had no luck with wine. I then started experimenting with the preferred devices and set the generic one to primary. The sound would work, but my problem was reversed. I would get notification sounds but no youtube or media audio. I then tried moving "default" up to preferred, only to get the same result. Neither gave me any sound in games under wine --not to mention the horrible system hangups when using "HD audio generic" and "default"
So I decided I prefer media audio over notification audio and went back to my original configuration. The result was that I still got system notifications but no media audio. At this point, I became very confused and started experimenting with changing the sound profiles. Any sort of chage at all would create a "dummy device" as playback out of my creative card. About 15 reboots later and luck? maybe, I got it to at least give me notification audio. I was stumped. I also noticed that the hangups were returning.
After exhausting all the options, I was like "oh well better move the HD audio Generic back up" and see what happens. Reboot. Somehow, I got media audio AND wine sound worked as well as the system hangups stopping.
I have no idea. Anyone have a clue?
Im glad its working, but im not going actually going to learn anything unless i figure out what happened.
    Thanks in advance.

Update: Ive found at least a modicum of consistency here. If I try to change anything in the preferences at all once I get wine audio working, it will stop working.
Thus far, here are my options..I can have
System Notification audio working and nothing else
System notification audio and media audio working, but no wine
Media Audio and Wine Audio working, but no system notification audio
    But not all three
If I change one preference, wine audio on its own will stop working, or wine audio AND media audio will quit working.
If I change it back to the settings which allow wine audio and media audio to work, it usually will not. It will however work, consistently after enough reboots...2-10.
    Any ideas?

  • Satellite L875D-S7230 Sound problems / drivers won't install

I've run a PC tech support service for over 10 years so I've tried all the standard fixes to no avail.
Main problem was after I started using my laptop with an HDMI cable to a projector -- the audio and video worked fine via HDMI, but when I disconnected the HDMI cable the laptop had no audio, and had a red x on the audio symbol in the system tray. Device manager only showed AMD High Definition Audio Device.  Under Playback devices via the Sound icon (yes Disabled and Disconnected Devices are both checked) it only shows the AMD High Def device.  When I reconnect the HDMI, the audio works fine.  Once I thought that not properly "ejecting" the HDMI cable could be the problem, so I used Windows + P to show the Projector menu and selected Computer Only to disconnect the HDMI and then removed the cable and then the laptop audio worked, but that happened several weeks ago, and now after using HDMI again, it's back to no audio.  I've reinstalled  the HDMI audio, but in trying to reinstall the Realtek Audio Drivers shown on the Support page for my model, they won't install - they extract and then when I click to install, the install stops with no error warning, etc. The same with the AMD Display driver (which is supposed to contain the chipset drivers).    I've been through this two hours troubleshooting process twice over the past 6 months and I am done.  Any suggestions are appreciated.  Here's the support page:

Hello , Welcome to the HP Forums, and thanks for posting! I understand you are having some issues re-installing the software for your HP LaserJet Pro M177fw Printer. I'd like to help you with this. First, I would recommend checking your programs to make sure there isn't anything listed for the LaserJet that wasn't uninstalled: Swipe inwards from the right hand side of the desktop (or press Win key + C on the keyboard). The charms bar will pop up on the right hand side of the screen.Select Settings, then Control Panel.Select Programs, then Uninstall a program.Check the list for any software indicating the printer model (select the software and click uninstall if necessary). You'll also want to make sure you have removed all instances of the printer from your devices and printers folder: Follow steps 1 and 2 above to open the Control Panel.Under Hardware and Sound, select Devices and Printers. If you see any icons for your printer, right click and select delete (or remove device). Now let's do a cleanboot of your computer (to make sure another program that is running is not interfering with your installation). You can find the steps to perform a clean boot in this Microsoft document - How to perform a clean boot in Windows Once all of this is complete, run the software install again. Please respond to let me know if we have resolved the issue!Good luck.

  • Satellite L875D-S7332 wi-fi slow down/connection

Hello, I've had my Satellite for just under two years now. I never really had any problems with it before hand, but now my Wi-Fi is giving me fits lately. It doesn't want to connect to my home network half the time, and when it does, it moves at a terrible rate of speed. I mean less than dial up speeds. I recently moved, and was using my cell phones mobile hot spot for it. Oddly enough my laptop will have no issue connecting to the mobile hotspot, but if I try to connect it to my home router, or if I take it out in public and try to hit another hotspot such as a resturaunts, it will have issues connecting, or connect and be incredibly slow. My OS is windows 8 (unfortunately) I've tested other devices on the router and they all work fine, so it's not a router issue. I've also tried uninstalling/updating my drivers through device manager. Finally I've tried using a cable to connect directly to the router, and the net will work just fine when I do. That's how I've got it set up at this moment. Thanks for any help that can be given.

I'm experiencing the same problem with my Satellite P875-S7310. Laptop was working just fine and had some windows 8.1 updates applied on July 26th and it's been downhill from there.
I even did a complete factory reset which has taken my laptop back to 2012 version since it was purchased in January 2013.
I'm at a loss and cannot connect via wireless even though all my phones and devices are working fine via wireless and know it's just a laptop problem.
I have no idea what do to do!!!!!?

  • Satellite 1000-s157 sound issues

I have just purchased a used Satellite 1000-s157 and the sound is having problem.  I get sound out of the headphone jack but not the speakers.  After alot of playing around i got sound to come out the speakers but it is very quiet almost not there.  There is not external volume dial and nothing is on mute, the volume control panel is turned up also.  Please help

    > If i put on external speakers or headphones, i can hear the sound. Can anyone help?
Looks to me like internal speaker malfunction.
But did you check the sound settings?
Go to control panel -> sound -> playback tab and check the available devices.
Are speakers listed in this tab? And if YES, are the speakers marked as default device?
Additionally its worth to reinstall the sound driver.
I guess its Realtek sound card.
So uninstall the Realtek sound driver from (control panel -> programs & features -> Realtek High definition audio driver).
Go also to device manager and delete the device (Intel display audio) from the area:
    Audio, video, game controller.
Do the same in area System devices: here delete the entry: high definition audio controller.
    So finally reboot the unit.
After new reboot, windows system should recognize the deleted devices automatically.
Wait until the devices have been installed. Now test the sound.
If you would not get any sound via speakers nor via headphones, install the Realtek sound driver.
But if this does not help, I would recommend contacting the service provider to check the speakers

  • Satellite L875D-S7332, 17.3,3,

My Satellite is out of warranty as of last month-Nov.
I have reset my laptop back to factory setting and used it for 2 days and then on the 3rd day I powered up,  I got the Toshiba Leading Innovations screen.  It last for about 5 seconds and went to a black with no curser, instead it was replaced with the "none" in the upper left hand corner and a blue box in the middle that wants me to enter a password.  I do not have a password.
Not 1 password I do have for the computer works on this screen.   On the Side of my laptop, I have a "Security lock slot" what do I do with that slot?
I have been to a computer shop, Office Depot and with out it costing a fortune no one can do anything.  It was suggested that I get a Windows 8 disc and it should reset the BIOS for me?   I have just now ordered the Recovery Media disc, hoping that will help.
Does anyone have any help they can give me.

The security lock slot is for physically locking the laptop - like a bicycle lock.
Unfortunately, a Windows 8 disc won't reset a BIOS password. I know it's terrible timing with the warranty, but it would require servicing to remove it.

  • Touch screen issues after win 10 upgrade

Hello! I upgraded my Touchsmart 600 (http://support.hp.com/id-en/document/c02507415) to Windows 10. Everything works fine besides touch screen. It actually worked right after I installed new drivers for Graphic card, it worked really fine. After Shutdown or Restart, so after rebooting it stopped working. Now only works on login screen, strange. Whwn I log in, stops. I tried reinstalling Graphic drivers, just to see what happens, and my touch screen worked again. When I restart, again only on login screen. Awkward. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Hrvoje.

Similar issues here with a Pavilion TS11. Touch screen works intermittently.  Works fine immediately after booting, then randomly quits working. I started to think it was just a coincidence and a wire was loose or something was malfunction in the screen itself. It does randomly start to work again though. I hate it because so far I really like Win10.

  • Sound issue in Lynx K3011w in win 8.1

After upgrade to win 8.1, I found two instances of the sound issue. During watching video, the very high freq, signal turn sound come out. It does not stop even I close the video player. I have reboot to stop the sound.
Anyone has this issue? Do you know how to resolve it?
    Thanks.

I managed to use the wlappc task in a different way.
Commented the part of weblogic task which is part of ejbjar task. After the ejbjar prepares the jar file it is best to pass the jar file to wlappc task.
In my case as the ejbjar task was preparing multiple jar files I prepared a temporary ear file and put all the jars inside it. Then gave this ear file to be processed by wlappc task with an application.xml file that has the list of the jar file names. Once wlappc task has processed all the jar files into a different output I deleted the temporary ear file.
Please let me know if there is any other good solution.

  • Satellite L875D-S7232 Hangs Up When Booting on Battery Power

Hello all... As I stated in another thread regarding Special Function Keys, my new Satellite L875D-S7232 has an issue that during boot-up of Windows 7 HP SP1 without the AC Adapter plugged into it, it will "hang up". After many hours of troubleshooting & even having it looked at from the retail tech that sold it to me, we have found no solution for this. I have also formatted the machine, partitioned the HD, & installed My version of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit SP1, along with updated ATI & Realtek drivers, along with only the updated driver software from Toshiba support website, & this issue still presists. This apparently isn't due to faulty written bloatware, & apparently due to an actual hardware issue. I am returning it to the retail outlet I purchased it from, in hopes they have a replacement machine of this model since I do like this platform at the price I got it. I will respond to this post to let ya know if the replacement was a success & the issue only pretained to this actual machine, which is what I am suspecting since I haven't seen any posts on this forum of a similiar issue. I did come across a port/thread (whatever ya call them) where a person had a different model, & his machine did exactly the reverse of mine, where his machine would hang up on the boot if the AC adapter was plugged in, but fine when running on battery. Myself & the retail tech even tried the solution they suggested of changing BIOS setting on the Processor cores... This solution was unsuccesful for my machine.

I hope it works fine after the exchange. Let us know how it goes.
