  • Satellite A505-S6973 - No sound of my laptop speakers

I own an A505-S6973 and today i lost volume on my speakers. When i jack in my headphones i get sound but without the headphones plugged in, I get no sound of my laptop speakers.
I checked device manager for software problems but everything is cleared, also, my volume is fully on.
I attempted a restore, but was unsuccessful, also i tried to uninstall and reinstall value added package but when attempting to launch the software after extracting it an error[0x8146045B] signals itself.
This morning everything seemed to work fine, the only thing i can think of, i removed windows media my network places sharing.
If this is the culprit can someone guide me on how I can re-install it. Also, the value added package issue, is there anything that can be done, because the buttong to enable/disable touchpad when depress nothing happens but if i use the function key with F9 it enables/disables.
I really hope someone can help me, it seems this is an unlucky weekend for me.

As I see, the VAP utility makes problems. The next step I advise you to do a little bit dangerous as you have to remove some elements in registry, but before
    1. Make the ,,Hidden Folders,, to be seen. (Control Panel- Appearance and Personalization-Folder Options (click the , show hidden files,, and then choose ,, Show hidden files, folders,, and Apply)
2 Go to C:\Users\, here you should choose your profile name, in my case it ,, jeka,, \AppData\Local\temp\TC20020600B.temp\ Here you should see TVAP folder, remove it completely
3 Run the ,,regedit,, that found in Windows folder. Choose ,, Edit,, -,,Find,, and type in ,,toshiba value added,, In left Column you will see highlighted folder with value like 8FFFC660FB2109346A37579FE5FF81E8, delete it. restart computer.
Then, start Tvap exe, it should work now. But you should be careful working with registry, don't delete anything other

  • [Solved] No Sound Satellite L645D-S4033 Laptop

I have 2 Toshiba Satellites (L645D-S4033) and both have Windows 7 x64 Ultimate installed.  Operating system is up to date.  Downloaded and installed the drivers from the Toshiba website.  There are no question marks or exclamation points in the Device Manager and when I open the Sound properties window from the control panel, the conexant speakers is showing, defaulted, and when I play audio, the audio bar in the playback tab shows activity but there is no sound coming from the laptop speakers or headphones when plugged in.  There's nothing muted and the volume is turned all the way up.
Been trying to trouble shoot this for a while, did some searching here in the forums, but with no success.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Solved!

    [Solved]
In the BIOS on both laptops the Beep Sound was turned OFF.  For some reason this turns off sound in Windows 7.
Turned Beep Sound ON in the BIOS and sound works as it should...
Bye the way if you have fast boot enabled and unable to enter into BIOS, hold down F2 and then power on the computer.

  • I cannot get sound through my laptop speakers ever since I used a digital speaker

I cannot get sound through my laptop speakers ever since I used an external digital speaker.  Cannot seem to switch back to lap top speakers in my SYSTEM PREFERENCES...only showing DIGITAL out put option

    Hi there Lutostan,
It sounds like you have disconnected the digital audio speakers from your MacBook Pro but all you have available in your audio settings. Take a look at this info from the following article named:
Troubleshooting issues with no audio from built-in speakers on Macs
If the Internal Speakers option does not appear in the Output tab and your computer is not a Mac Pro, check that Digital Out is present as in the image below:
Confirm again that all external audio devices and cables have been removed.
Check to see if a red light is lit in the line-out port. If so, your Apple computer may need service.
If you do not see a red light, proceed to step 5.
If the issues persist, contact Apple support for further troubleshooting assistance.

  • I cannot hear any songs or movies from my laptop speakers - the headphone port works and a red light is showing? The output sound settings are showing as digital optical only? Any ideas :)

I cannot hear any songs or movies from my laptop speakers - the headphone port works and a red light is showing from the port? The output sound settings are showing as digital optical only? I used the headphones in the laptop for the first time yesterday and have had this problem ever since. Any ideas

The internal switch in the audio output port is stuck.  Try inserting the earphone plug a few times.  If no success, try jiggling a tooth pick inside in order to trip the switch.. If still no success, have the technicians at the Apple store genius bar do it for you.
    Ciao.

  • Linux 3.2 sound plays through HDMI and laptop speakers simultaneously

As topic says, laptop speakers is not muted when activating sound through HDMI. Downgrading to 3.1 solves the problem. The laptop is an Asus UL30a.

    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pulseaudio
I am using Pulse Audio (and KDE). It's all correctly setup, it has been working for several months and it works if I downgrade kernel to 3.1, so it's a regression with the new kernel. Also, if any mods are reading this, maybe thread should be moved since 3.2 is out of testing.
Edit: It's quite weird. If I go to KDE sound settings and change them around a couple of times, after a while it works like it should. There is no consistency in this and I have no idea how to troubleshoot
Edit2: Could this be related? I know it's for Nvidia cards, but in the first comment he mentions hda_intel.chttps://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42567 I should probably have mentioned in the first post that my laptop is all Intel:

How exactly did you fix it and what happened to break it?
Well I simply removed /var/lib/alsa/asound.state, and rebooted. Then the sound started working. Then I used a live-cd distro that I'm testing for my University, and when I rebooted the next time, the sound didn't work.

I haven't had time to try it. This morning, started working without doing anything... there must be trolls inside my laptop. I hope this time will continue working indefinitely.
    Thanks a lot for answering.
EDIT: Yesterday before shuting down my laptop I returned the configuration I had changed to its original state, so that could be the change that made my speakers work again this morning.

    Hi,
The functionality of the mute button is provided by the IDT Audio software so the problem may be that Windows 8 has installed a reference driver that does not contain this.  Often, the Windows 7 version works Ok, so I'd try downloading and installing the following IDT driver.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48501-49000/sp48830.exe
After the installation has completed, restart the notebook.

  • Green Pixelation on Screen, Sound not playing from laptop speakers

I just had my logic board replaced recently and I am experiencing some of the same problems as before. I am getting a random green pixelation on my screen, mainly showing in the dark areas of a picture. Also the sound is not playing from my laptop speakers, i have to tap the lower right hand side of the keyboard to get the sound to play. Also my airport sometimes gets stuck loading and the time is showing the last time i was on my laptop. If you have experienced any of these problems please help.

Return the iBook for repair ASAP. It sounds like the original repair was poorly done. You have 90 days from date of repair if AppleCare wasn't used.

  • No Sound from laptop Speakers !

I have a Pavilion dv5-1135ee with windows vista 32bit installed
All of a sudden sound decided to come out of the laptop speakers only when the headphones are plugged in! I reinstalled the driver, nothing changed
    What should I do??

    Hi
You have a couple of options as I see it.
Please turn off the Notebook disconnect the Battery & Adapter press and hold the power button for 30 seconds then turn on the unit and have it checked.
Go to device manager and uninstall the driver and restart and unit will install the driver automatically.
Try doing System restore to the date when the unit was working fine.
Try to update the driver from hp.com website for Audio & Bios.
Let us know how it goes!

  • Satellite M115-1061 Sound Stopped Working

In device manager Microsoft UAA Bus Driver Device for High Definition Audio driver shows a exclamation point in a circle.  Device status says "This Device cannot (code 10)".  Tried uninstalling and reinstalling as instructed by the Troubleshooter, but status doesn't change.  Under Driver Details the driver is identified as hdaudbus.sys  Please help!

Turns out there are two drivers listed for that model. This is the one lilmaqi gave you.
Realtek Audio Driver for Windows XP (Version 5.10.0.5288 - Released 09/08/06)
If that doesn't work, wouldn't hurt to try the other.

  • Laptop speakers make a squeeky sound when it starts playing audio

    > Is the file normalized correctly?
Please don't tell me that any form of "normalization" was used at all!!
    Such a bad idea.
    Things to look for.
1 - Why the 448 bitrate? You're legal as far as it goes, but I would like to know why.
2 - What Dolby Digital Encoder did you use - it wasn't Encore. Was it a properly licensed one?
3 - What is the peak level of the original PCM file? Should *not* be more than -6dB at the hottest (depending on destination)
4 - If the file was close to 0dBFS peak, was the RF overmodulation protection set to ON or OFF?
5 - Where in the file is this click? Beginning? End? In the middle?
If at the beginning, have you made certain that the 2 second audioblack is there? Is the file faded in properly? Slow decoders can cause a click by taking time locking down on a stream.

  • Satellite M115-S3094: Error message - Can't create a D3D device

    Hi,
I accidently deleted a graphics card driver but managed to get it back, but before i deleted it i used to play the game pkr (3d poker) but now when i load it, it comes up with an error saying "Could not initialize client - Can't create a D3D device - -2005530516, -".
Also all my folders on my desktop don't appear. The only way i can get this up on screen is by pressing the keys ctrl + alt and delete and then typing in desktop.
All this started to happen when i tried to connect my laptop to the television.
I am using Windows XP media center. It's a a Toshiba Satellite M115-s3094.
Can anyone please help as it's driving me mad as i am very close to smashing the laptop in frustration.
I don't know the driver its using as all it says is unknown. If anyone can help or even give me an idea on how to fix this then i would be very grateful.
    Cheers for your time.

    Hi
Sounds a little bit like the Direct3D were not enabled in you graphic settings.
Please start the DirectX using the command dxdiag and enable all 3D settings.
Furthermore it would be advisable to remove the installed 3D poker game and then to reinstall it again. This should help to reconfigure the game graphic settings which are necessary to run the game properly.
    Good luck
