Satellite M35-S456: TouchEd Error - Retrieval of 'Thotkey' failed
My 2004 Satellite M35-S456 laptop gets an error when starting up.
Titled "TouchEd Error," it says:
"Retrieval of 'Thotkey' failed. Error code - 0x00031402, 0x00000002."
I can use my touchpad, but I can't use the Fn button nor Play/Stop/Forward/Rewind buttons on the front edge of the laptop.
What should I do? I've already tried installing the driver for the touchpad again, but it doesnt' work. I did a Norton Antivirus sweep and nothing comes up. I took out hte battery and put it back in. Nothing has worked.

Possibly some registry entries are damage or something different.
In such case its not easy to find a right solution. I think you could use the system restore too to roll back the OS to the early point or you will install the OS again.
Please note: if you will install the Windows from original MS CD you need all Toshiba drivers. The Toshiba drivers must be installed in the right order.
Very important is the installation of the chipset driver and common modules at the beginning.
This is all what I can suggest.

1. Open IE
2. Click on Tools
3. Select Internet Options
4. Then click on <delete> under browsing history, and put a check in all the boxes

Retrieval of "THotkey" failed error code 0x00031402 0x00000002 message.
Recently, my Toshiba F20 (Windows XP OS) starts up, reaches the desktop and then I can't go any further. The cursor doesn't allow me to double click on any icons- I can't enter START or use ctrl+alt+del. Basically unable to use the computer. I get the message in the subject line.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I haven't got a clue as to what to do next.

On this page I do not see any spectacular solution. If I understand this page the solution is to reinstall Toshiba Hotkey Utility.
James if you have a European notebook model please use all necessary drivers, tools and utilities from European support page. The link is http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads. Satellite Pro A10 you can find under ARCHIVE. There you can find Hotkey Utilities for Display Devices version 1.00.01.00-02.

Just picked up M35 with a problem:
On boot up I get 0201: Failure IDE #0, When I run setup the hard drive is not recognized in bios.
I updated bios from 1.30 to 1.50......no change.
The hard drive is a Toshiba MK8025GAS, I was told the drive was good...but since bios won't detect I have no way of testing it.
It will read from the dvd drive ok...........What can I try?

Recieve error every time I try to use Camera Assistance Software for Toshiba: Webcam driver open failed. Please restart camera or computer. Web cam also does not work in Skype. It seems that this is a very common problem with the A300s series, yet there is no clear solution out there.

I recently did a clean install of Windows 7, updating from Windows Vista. I never used the web cam on Windows Vista, so I can't testify as to whether the web camera was workin correctly or not. However, when I tried to use it with Skype, it did not work. I reinstalled the driver that I backed up before I installed the new operating system, but it did not work. The web cam doesn't show up at all in Device Manager - even when set to display hidden devices. Trying to add new hardware through the control panel fails to detect the web camera at all. I have restarted after every install/repair of the driver.
Steps Taken
Reinstalled backuped drivers
I used third party software (Double Driver) to back up and reinstall the drivers for the web camera after I installed Windows 7. Double Driver claimed there was no device to install the driver for. I manually copied the files into the Camera Assistance folder and overwrote the existing ones. The files I copied were:
casflr.cat
oem34.inf
restore.ini
UVCFTR_S.SYS
Reinstalled Drivers from Toshiba Website
Extensive goolging has only turned up recommendations to uninstall and reinstall drivers. I was unable to find any drivers specifically for windows 7 64-bit, but I did try those for my model of laptop for Windows Vista 64-bit - no luck. I tried installing Camera Assistance Software for Toshiba, which as far as I can tell, includes the driver - it only gives me the error described above.
I also tried locating a generic Windows 7 driver for the web camera - I was unable to find one.
Check Registry Value Is Correct
I have also tried checked the registry value at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/ControlSet001/Enum/USB/SN001/ClassUID matches the value in C:\Program Files (x86)\Camera Assistant Software for Toshiba\driver\64bit\casflr.inf as and C:\Program Files (x86)\Camera Assistant Software for Toshiba\driver\32bit\casflr.inf recommended by some article recommend.
Please, I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me out here. I have exhausted all the options I can think of.
Likely Solution:
I encountered a thread post that suggested a loose wire was responsible and that the camera would work when the lid was almost closed. I tried this and the camera suddenly appeared in device manager. However, I still can't get it to work with Camera Assistant Software or Skype.

I have an A300 Satellite Pro - not even 2 years old.
In the last 2 days I have 2 problems that I think are possibly related.
1. Like others on here I now cannot get my internal webcam to work. I get the 'webcam driver open failed' message. I have read some forums etc and today I have:
a) loaded most recent BIOS,
b) reloaded the webcam software drivers (the most recent seems to be from 2008!)
c) restarted my laptop about 20 times
Nothing works
2. In the last 2 days for the first time I keep getting the 'USB device not recognised' message that annoyingly crops up about every 10 seconds. I am assuming that the webcam is connected to a USB port (internal) and is no longer being recognised. Based on Google advice in various forums I have also:
1) Turned off the AC power supply
2.) Taken out the laptop battery and waited 5 mins - this apparently resets the BIOS
3) tried using device manager in various ways
Nothing bloody works!!
Maybe the hardware is damaged but I doubt it - I have not dropped the laptop, I always pack it carefully in a padded rucksack. It has always worked fine until 2 days ago.

Satellite 5105-S702 Touch ED error message during bootup process
When I bootup my Satellite 5105-S702 laptop with the Computer Associates (CA) Anti-Virus software v8.4.0.24 turned ON, I receive the following error message near the end of the bootup process:
TouchED Error
Retrieval of THotkey" failed
Occurred Part - TouchED.exe - THotkeyFindProc( )
Failed Function - FindWindow( )
Error Code - 0x00031402, 0x00000002
However, when I turn OFF the CA Anti-Virus software and reboot the laptop, I do not get the error message.
Therefore it would appear that the CA AntiVirus software is causing this error message.
Would appreciate if anyone could advise if they have experienced this problem with this model laptop, or the Satellite 5105-S701, or the equivalent European model 5100-603, and how they rectified it.

I agree with you.
In my opinion the installed (CA) Anti-Virus software is not fully compatible with the Toshiba Hotkey Utility or the Anti-Virus software doesnt recognize it correctly and cannot handle it.
CA Anti-Virus software is not known to me but maybe you could set some setting to ignore the Toshiba Hotkey Utility.
Maybe it helps if not I would recommend contacting the Computer Associates support team. -

Ive seen this before.
If this is a new environment could you create a blank database and configure it as your System database? Then try again and you should be fine.
I think you may have some invalid entries in your sys database.

You will either have to create this user in AD or use an existing AD user and then specify its credentials in Enterprise Manager (expand Weblogic Domain > bifoundation_domain (right click) > Security > Credentials). You will need to set system.user credential under oracle.bi.system map. Make sure your AD user's password never expires or you will run into problems in a few weeks time!

According to all the Reporting Services logs my Reporting Point was setup correctly. When I try and run any report I see the entries below in the srsrp.log on the SQL Server. The report names show up in the Console but when I right any of the
listed reports I get errors and no report runs.
I am running SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 on a remote server. SQL is installed on its own server. There is no firewall between the Configuration Manager server and SQL Server.

After recent itunes update my ipod touch 4 is not syncing properly...I got error message twice "ipod failed to sync properly because connection was lost, please try again"... it continued acting weird, now when i click on "sync now" it says preparing to sync, it goes through steps quickly says sync finished but it doesnt update.. can anyone help?

FDM: Error retrieving audit intersection cell information
Hi,
Could anyone please tell me how to resolve an error we've been having?
When I right click in a cell in HFM with a view to using the Audit Intersection menu pick to review data uploaded using FDM, I see the error message "Error retrieving audit intersection cell information". Strangly, this works fine in our PPD environment, but we can't seem to get it working in Live even though the Drill-Back set up was copied across from PPD (with references to PPD changed to Live obviously)

PhilWhich Version of HFM are you on? I know that in 9.3.1 Classic, you must update the metadata between migrations to the specific application name of FDM, if you have the same FDM app name, this would not apply, but if they change, you will need to change the metadata between them. The FDM app name is defined in the Application Settings dimension of metadata.

Windows Failover Cluster (Errors retrieving file shares)
I'm having an issue with Windows Failover Cluster with a Windows Server 2012 R2 machine. I have two cluster nodes (nodeA and nodeB). My issue is that when nodeA is the owner node, and I open failover cluster manager <clusterName> >>
roles >> <fileserver role> >> shares tab it will hang and say that it is loading, but this will occur infinitely. Although when I go to nodeB (not the owner node) and I go to shares it will show me all of the shares that I have. Next when
I go to <clusterName> >> Nodes >> click on Roles tab the information says "There were errors retrieving file shares."
Now when I switch the nobeB to the owner node, I cannot view the shares on that machine but can now view them on nodeA.
We alse have a test network where I have recreated the machines, environment and the failover cluster to as close as the production network as I can except everything works great in the test networkFor anybody searching on this later...
I was getting "There were errors retrieving file shares" no matter which node of my cluster
owned the fileshare service. Turns out my problem was that my servers don't have internet access and I had set a system proxy. The fix described in the link below was to exclude the local domain from the proxy.

How to retrieve error message(s) after failed web service call

I tried to create an item using the web service ego_item_pub.process_item and it worked ok (version 12.1.1). Sending the same request again, I got an error which should be ok since the item id already exists. The thing is, that I only get an "E" as return status:

<X_MSG_COUNT>1</X_MSG_COUNT>
As described in the integration repository, there should be a parameter called msg_data which should contain the message if there is exactly 1 message, but I cannot find it.
So, I tried to get the message using fnd_message.get, but the response of my web service call is:
AuthorizationFailure : User not authorized to execute service. (I use sysadmin/sysadmin as ws security user).
I use the following grant details:
All Users Direct GLOBAL Revoke Action Enabled
SYSADMIN SYSADMIN Direct USER
What else can I do or how can I retrieve error messages for a failed web service call?

Error retrieving data from the web server in Excel fo BPC
Hello Everybody,
I'm working with BPC v7.5 , i created some reports with the EVDRE formula and they were working perfectly.
The problem started when i created new users, that in fact have the same access profile and task profile as my user.
i started to test these new users in excel and every time i expand the report this legend appears: " EVDRE Retrying... EVDRE encountered an error retrieving data from the Web Server. Retrying in (X) Seconds...". After waiting a while a push cancel, then appears a window with the legend: Ev4excel Addin, Errors found retriening data.
The funny thing is that when i login back to my user everything works fine again, any idea what could be the problem? the other user have the same permissions.

Nidia Olguívery strange. Normally the member access profile must be diifferent. So it is not important the task profile but the member access profile. Can you please double check ?
