SATELLITE M35X-S111 takes 6 to 30 minutes to start

HI,
I HAVE A  LAPTOP. WHEN I WAIT LONG ENOUGH (FROM 6 TO 30 MINUTES) FOR IT TO TURN ON, IT WORKS PERFECT. I PUSH THE ON BUTTON AND IT TURNS GREEN THE FANS COME ON FOR ABOUT 6 SECONDS AND TURN OFF. THEN I WAIT FROM 6 TO 30 MINUTES AND IT STARTS AND RUNS PERFECT. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING POSSIBLE FROM; BATTERIES OK, CHARGER VOLTAGE 18.48 VOLTS, SWITCH RAM MEMORY AROUND, SWITCHED POWER THEME OPTIONS (STAND BY, HIBERNATION ETC. ETC.). WHEN COMPUTER IS RUNNING I CAN DO A RESTART AND I DON'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. I'VE TALKED TO 3 COMPUTER REPAIR COMPANY AND THEY HAVE SAID THAT I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE OTHER THAN POSSIBLY A COMPASSITER IN THE MOTHER BOARD. DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?
THANKS,
BILL

  • JDeveloper 11.1.1.7 takes over 45 minutes to start

    Hi,
I have windows 7 64 bit with 64 bit JDK 1.7. My jDeveloper 11.1.1.7 takes over 45 minutes to start, even the previous versions took similar long time. I have McAfee running on my system and have 8 GB RAM and more than 100 GB HDD on my C drive. I tried playing with the tuning parameters as mentioned in few blogs, but nothing seems to help.
    Please help.

Indeed, McAfee caches what it has previously scanned. I've had different versions of McAfee where this has been, and hasen't been a problem.
It's pretty easy to tell on Windows if McAfee is the culprit. Open the Task Manager and watch is McAfee active (consuming CPU) during the whole process of opening JDev.
If so you're going to have to work with your IT department to get exemptions for JDev put in place if it is.

are you using sample base instruments in those projects a lot using exs or kontakt? when paths to samples get messed up for some reason it can result in along waiting times each time a project is loaded.
lately my kontakt samples get loaded without any sign of activity. if it is a large orchestral score i see a dead screen for quite a while before suddenly everything pops up and is ready to work with. i recall seeing progress bars or similar things in the past though...
repair permissions and defragging (idefrag) may help as well.
btw. i can drink as much coffee as i want late at night, even five minutes later i can sleep well. seems i am immune. but right now i am also having plenty of hardware issues to deal with so that's a good thing i guess...!

  • FCP takes 15-20 minutes to start, once it's loaded plug-ins

Once plug-ins are loaded and RT bits are done, FCP 7 takes 15-20 minutes to start. I've closed projects, I've deleted preferences, repaired disk permissions but still no joy.
Activity Utility suggests that FCP is looking for a previous files assets.
    Had anyone else experienced this?
    Many thanks

By default, FCP will try to load the last project that was active.
While 15-20 minutes is a long time to try loading even a missing project and it's media, you might try turning this option off. Click in the menu bar where you see *Final Cut Pro* in bold typeface.
    Go to User Preferences.
De-select the option "Open last project on application launch" in the General tab.
    Post back with your results.

  • Satellite M35X-S111: Cannot install W2k and Vista

Greetings! Today I have tried to install windows 2000 on my notebook m35x-s111 but my attempts have not crowned success. After copying initial drivers there was "Blue Screen" speaking about that it is necessary to disable Bios shadow and Video Shadow. In BIOS such options are not present, there in general anything is not present from adjustments.
Today has tried to install Windows Vista RC1 but result that screen and the message on that what not full ACPI (is incompatible). I understand, that it is necessary to disable all these options and then the system will be install but how to do it???

    Hi,
Whats for error Code becomes you by the Installation from Win 2000 in the last line by the Blue Screen?
Is this a official Version? Or a OEM Version?
    Vista Installation
You becomes not for all Hardware Drivers for Vista.
Please Check the Hardware Premises of the Microsoft Site.

Fact is that vista is not official on the market and till then it is not officially supported by Toshiba.

  • Strange: suddenly logic takes about ten minutes to start!

    hi!
some hours ago I worked on a logic film underscore project. so i had a quicktime movie loaded in my project.
then I opened the final cut project from which the movie was from. I don't remember if I closed the logic project before, but the actual movie file was just a bounce, not used by both of the apps.
when I tried to open the logic project later it seemed to stop doing anything just after closing the startup screen, so I thought there was a problem with final cut causing logic to crash.
As final cut always takes "hours" to check the waves plugins on every booting, I always swich between special logic- and fcp- sets in "AudioUnit Manager", a tool to have different configs of AUs for different apps or so. Never had any problem for years with that.
So I tried everything with the AU plugins. nothing.
Then I renewed logic's prefs and all that stuff. nothing. then I installed the new pro application support. HEEY! it worked again. but just for a while.
opening other (even small) projects still takes about ten minutes now. nice coffee pause..:-) but I can't drink that much coffee at night.
what can it be? a problem with the project manager?
    any suggestion?
    cheers

  • Every time I open up Firefox it takes about 5 minutes to start, what may cause this?

    *Lots of big extensions
    *One really bad extension

  • When I start my iMac up it takes about 20 minutes to start

Hi since a few weeks, whenever I reboot my iMac it takes about 20 minutes before the login screen appears.  Is it possible that a program called "daisydisk" has something to do with it?

    Hello:
If you have some third-party software (translate daisydisk) installed, remove it.  That is the first place to start.

  • WebAccess takes over 5 minutes to start servicing

Everytime the GW8 Linux server is reboot, WebAccess would take over 5 minutes to begin its service.
Further examining the logs found this on /var/log/apache/error_log when the server starts running after a reboot:
[Wed Jul 23 09:56:32 2014] [error] (111)Connection refused: proxy: AJP: attempt
to connect to 127.0.0.1:8009 (localhost) failed
[Wed Jul 23 09:56:32 2014] [error] ap_proxy_connect_backend disabling worker for
    (localhost)
[Wed Jul 23 09:56:32 2014] [error] proxy: AJP: failed to make connection to back
    end: localhost
[Wed Jul 23 09:56:33 2014] [error] proxy: AJP: disabled connection for (localhos
    t)
The above pattern keeps repeating everytime a connection comes... and automagically disappears after a while... WebAccess then starts running...
    Any clues???

This is an apache issue where part of it is looking for its proxy engine.
What distro/version of distro are you running? Is this an OES box?
Is anything else using that port? (Possible conflict)

  • After update, iTunes takes over 30 minutes to start up

I updated iTunes to 10.6.3.25 a couple of days ago to the latest version, and now it takes over 30 minutes to load.  I click the iTunes icon on my desktop and get the mouse spinner for about 2 seconds, then it disappears.  During that time, I can see in task manager that iTunes.exe using the about 25% of my CPU (i3 550) and over 100,000k of my 8GB of RAM.  After it finally loads, I plug in my iPod and iTunes gives no indication that it sees it at all.  Windows sees it, but iTunes doesn't.  My question is, what can I do to fix this?  I've already went into programs & features and went to changes and hit repair on each of the apple programs I have on my computer and that changed nothing, and I also tried this.
tl;dr iTunes takes forever to load and iPod doesn't show up in iTunes

UPDATE: After having had my iPod plugged in for TWO HOURS, it has finally been detected by iTunes.

  • IMac 27" late 2012 hard to sleep : start using on August it is easy to sleep but just few days ago ,it take half a minute to start sleep .

iMac 27" late 2012 hard to sleep :
    - I start use this brand new iMac from August 2013  ,it is easy and quickly to sleep .  Just few day ago  it takes half a minute to sleep  .
At same time  the old iMac 20"  2007  got same problem .
Please help me to know what happen.
Thanks to our Apple Support Communities,
    Garmin 108

Same problem here - only with a 2012 Macbook Air running 10.8.2
    (very accurately described above )
After MBA sleeps and you try to wake it up, screen does not refresh properly and only refreshes where the current mouse cursor is.
If you close the lid, and then re-open the MBA then functions correctly.
I also have an issue where the MBA will suddenly crash while asleep and then will require a hard reset.
    Not sure if related though.
I just reset smc/pram - will report back if this does not solve the issue.
If you don't hear from me again, then reseting solved it!

  • Final Cut takes about 20 minutes to start

    Hello guys,
After installing the 10.6.6 update all Final Cut programs (Final Cut Pro, Compressor, Cinema Tools) and all Logic Programs (Logic Pro, Mainstage, Soundtrack Pro) need about 20 minutes to start. After starting the programs they show up as "not responding" in the activity monitor. About 20 minutes later they finally start.
I have got the latest version of Final Cut and (Logic) installed and did a repair permission but the problem still persists.
Does anyone know this problem and how to solve it? I want to avoid reinstalling OS X...
    Thank you for your help!

    Hello Bengt,
Thank you for your reply! I was afraid that could be the problem, but I just checked my hard drive and found 100GB of free space.
Another strange thing is that if I close Final Cut once it finally runs, and then reopen it, Final Cut will start super fast without problems until the next reboot of the computer...

I upgraded to firefox 6 on Monday, and rebooted the system today (friday) when I tried to open firefox 6 it took almost 5 minutes to start up, and then it was completely available for a about another minute or so.
I thought 1 of the key advantages of upgrading was that firefox 6 was suspposed to start up a lot faster.
