Satellite m45-2692 System Shut-down Please help!!!!!!!!
I received the Blue screen of Death w/ the message driver_irql_not less_ or equal. I rebooted installed the Latest service pack. It ran well for a day. I receive the mess again rebooted but the system when completely dead. I open and check the memory, wireless NIC, and cpu. I cleaned all areas with compress air. took the battery out. I put everything back together. I was able to restart notebook (nb), however, after approx. two to five minutes nb went blank again. I press the power button but to no avail. I tried power button again system appear to be booting. It lit up and went dead again with only the middle light on the front of the nb staying lit. I know what most of the symbols represent of the front of the nb except that.
Please advise on what to do from this point. This problem exceeds my expertise.

Sounds a little bit like a hardware malfunction. I think about RAM issue but before you would test and replaced the RAM modules I would recommend checking if this is not a software problem.
In such case you will have to reinstall the OS from the Recovery disk. Using this disk everything will be formatted on the HDD and the notebook will be set to the factory configuration!
So if you are some important files on the HDD -> backup it!
If your notebook will not work as it should after the recovery procedure then single components like RAM should be checked

hello my iMac 27 shuts down at intro or when i trying to set it up ,i think its Fan or HDD but not sure , maybe anyone knows where is a problem ?
iMacSafe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions. -

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

Currently I am trying to put together a new computer. I have all the parts needed, and they are compatible. I put everything together, double/tripled checked all connections. when i try to turn it on, it runs for about 10 seconds, then just shuts off. ;( I'm running it bare, i have no monitor, keyboard, mouse, and sound connected. I just turned it on barebone.
I am using:
K7N2 Delta-L Motherboard
AMD 2800 Benton
2x 512 kingston Ram sticks
80gb 7200rpm hard drive
floppy
DVD drive
CD/RW drive
350watt enermax power supply
I have tried taking one of the ram sticks out and turning it on, it didn't work.
I tired getting a new 350watt antec power supply, it didn't work.
WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?!?! ?( ;(
Once again my problem is that the system shuts down automaticly after I turn it on. It will run for about 10 seconds then... it's down again.

after clearing cmos (do it with power off on PC or u will fry it) u will then need to setup bios again.
If this still wont boot have a look at jumpers J10 & J11
J10 sets cpu fsb mode
J11 sets cpu fsb frequency.
Look in ya manual it's in there.
Try to get PC to post by setting J11 to
J11 o J10 o
x o J10 not bridged = 100mhz
x
J11 safe mode cpu fsb 100mhz.
It will post then. Just the cpu will be set to a lower speed then it is.
If it posts go in to bios and hit set bios default then bridge J10 making it 133/166 mhz and J11 x

o this sets J11 to default 133
reboot and it should post good cpu speed.

SYstem Shuts Down Every Time if on AC Power.
1. This does not happen if running on battery.
2. Lenovo suggested test seem to prove it is not a hardware problem --doesn't happen if on "F1" key.
3. Replaced power cord -no change
4. They think it could be defective Windows 7 Upgrade. Did not point to Virus. I have Virus protection.
5. Does not happen when booting up. Only when startup is complete and W7 Start screed is up.
6. Started happening a couple of months ago, at random, once a day. Now it goes black in just minutes, overtime.
7 W7 was installed bout six months ago. Was fine.
8 Can't reload W7 because Microsoft requires you to be on AC power to load.
9. If attempt to load from CD, system shuts down --goes black, complete shut down.Hi, ttranfagli
I have a few questions so I can get a better grip on the issue at hand:
What is your machine type and model? Also, what do you mean by "if on "F1" key"? Also, have you tried this in Safe Mode? Finally, does this occur if the machine is running off of AC power only with the battery removed?

My computer starts, bar completes half way and the system shuts down. Dont know what happened.

I suggest you need to erase your drive and reinstall OS X. Be prepared for the possibility that your hard drive has failed.
Install or Reinstall Mavericks or Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
OS X Mavericks- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Erase and reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless. -
Once in awhile my screen will freeze while I'm watching a video. Lately it's happening more often, I'm watching a video and it'll freeze BUT I can still hear the dialogue. Only solution I've found so far is to do a hard shut down. HELP!!
Hi there, im also having this problem, i tried running most of the games on my system, and some that are considered "high end" games, are giving me the exact same problem, but other games are running and im able to message fine, i also got some friends to send me messages, and i can recieve messages perfectly, also i noticed moving the actual window around on the screen or just closing down skype also lags. I have 16GB of ram and 4.4Ghz Octa-Core CPU, i checked my load while on the high end games and it there was more than enough hardware usage left like normal for skype to run, and skype wasnt taking any extra up than before. I also checked by bandwidth and i was having no problems with that as skype would lag even on offline games.
I have tried re-installing under a different directory and still the same problem persists, this has only been a problem within the last 24hrs and i haven't installed any other programs that could affect this at the moment.
*UPDATE* I tried downgrading to an older version of skype, 6.3.0.107. Problem Still persists -

System shut down during F110 payment run
During the F110 payment run, the PRD system shut down. There were 259 items in the proposal and according to the status 42 posting orders were generated and completed. What is the process to handle this problem? Can the payment run be re-started?
It appears that clearing documents were created for some open items before the system shut down but no checks are showing in the check register. Has this happened to anyone before and what steps should be taken to resolve this?Is it a matter of...
1. deleting the output of the payment run,
2. deleting the proposal
3. canceling the the payment check by check using FCH8 if any occurred
4. reseting and reversing the clearing documents created using FBRA before the system shut down
5. start a new payment run -
When i click on 'Show all in Finder' after searching for anything on spotlight, NOTHING happens! NO Finder window opens up and the spotlight dropdown menu just shuts! Please help!
I'm having the same problem in other places as well, for example when i downloaded Easyfind right now, clicking the small magnifying glass button on the right of the file name (shown below) would usually open up finder highlighting the file, but now nothing happens when i click on that button!
