Satellite M45-S265 went black screen

I can pwr on but as soon as the Toshiba logo appears, the screen goes totally black and the laptop gets very quiet. i was using it when this happened last night but did not see it happen as i had turned away momentarily. the disc drive runs when i load a disc but no response from laptop. its not the battery. I always use the AC pwr cord and its not the cord because i have two and it gets pwr. could be a windows thing (xp) but i tend to think its hardware... im just guessing. im not a computer pro. anyone had this happen and what was your solution? I need the data on this machine today and cannot access it from this netbook I am currently using to find a solution.

Virus. I recently had one of the 'Anti Virus Software' viruses that I thought was thouroghly cleaned. I guess not. Since the virus can actually rename parts of itself as intregal parts of the OS, you could be sitting on a time bomb if not correctly removed. Certain files must be removed and repaired or replaced.
*How to repair:
1) If you can get to Safe Mode Screen, can access BIOS but not boot, odds are your HDD is okay.
Download Ubuntu Live, do not install but run live (do not install or you will overwrite your HDD) and you should be able to view your files and save them to an
external storage. Take everything you need and then reinstall OS.
Unfortunately programs cannot be transfered so be sure you have your installation discs. You can then transfer your files back.
*I am not a technician and only offer this as advice to look into, as I was told the same.

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again?
If this does not work, make sure that the phone is charged, then Connect in recovery mode, explained in this article:

Satellite A100 has a black screen and won't load into the Bios

I bought a Satellite A100 - (model psaa8c-0fh00e) about 5 months ago. it was left on over night which is not uncommon and when i came back to use it about 15 hours later it was just a black screen. moved the touch screen and its keys and nothing happened. so i cold boot it and it turned off. i then turned it back on like normal and the notebook turns on but the screen is completely black. it's not even loading the normal Toshiba Bios screen.
Now my question: is if there is any way I can fix this, i am familar with computer and parts. I just don't get this one cause i've never had to reflash the bois or anything like that. I'm just not sure how to turn and i really don't wanna have to take it into a shop, any suggestions would be helpful.

If your A100 powers on normally (HDD spinning, optical drive LED flickers, fans turn etc.) then I would suspect that your LCD or FL Inverter has failed. You can check this by connecting an external monitor to the notebook to see if that shows the normal display.
On the other hand if there is no activity at all from tour notebook when you power it on then I would imagine you have an internal hardware fault, possibly the main board, which will need to be checked by a Toshiba Authorised Service Partner since the unit will still be covered by the warranty if it is only 5 months old.

Particularly:
Display has no backlight or dark screen
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.

Satellite C55-A-1N1 Black screen when switched on

I've had my laptop for 7 months, I've had a lot of problems with it from the beginning.
It has always run slow and started disconnecting itself from the internet for no reason.
A few days ago it refused to connect to the Internet at all and now when I switch it on I just get a black screen.
No beeps or logos just a black screen. It powers up OK, and I've tried switching on while plugged in and with just the battery running.
It's still under warranty but I wonder if anyone has any suggestions. I'm really disappointed as my last Satellite was brilliant for years, had no problems.

Are you able to access the BIOS?
To access the BIOS press power button following by F2 button.
In case this isnt possible try this:
Disconnect AC adaptor and remove battery.
Now press and hold power button 30sec long.
After that connect the AC adaptor and battery and press the power button once again to power up the notebook.
Is this possible? Feedback would be appreciated

Satellite L355-S7817 Getting Black Screen On Boot

hey everyone, i have a Satellite L355-S7817, Vista home premium Sp1, (had it for a few months) and it wont boot anymore, so other i got an black screen error on my laptop it said to restart it, so i did, then my laptop just wouldn't stat up any more, i have no idea why? so i put in the recovery disks that came with my laptop to just reinstall every thing like if i just got it out of the box, and as i follow the instructions that the Toshiba recovery wizard disk says, and as its "coping files" i get a blue screen error saying "a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damages to your computer DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" and say to restart or what ever and just keeps doing that. Tech Info: "STOP: 0x000000D1"( 0xCCE491E0, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x8CE42FD7) Then i restart my system and a black screen come up saying "BOOTMGR missing" so now i have nothing that works, i have retried the disks but same error with blue screen. and some times it says out in second **** then i get another error "STOP: 0x000000DE" i have also tried doing the safe mood and docent come up, nothing works. im in need of help, i haven even tried to get it repaired with Toshiba because its still in warranty, but they just B**** me out and saying they are not gonna fix it, im in need of help!

If you cannot perform a recovery, then there likely is a hardware problem. That's something that the warranty was meant to handle. I'd suggest initiating a warranty repair by calling Toshiba Support at 800-457-7777..

Satellite M45-S265 - How do I delete WiFi File from the system?

This M45-S265 Machine has Intel Pro/Wireless BG Network Connection.
The installed Driver is Intel dated 12\19\2007 Version 9.0.4.39
So I want to "completely" uninstall this driver from the system.
Going thru the device manager and simply asking it to uninstall doesn't completely uninstall.
Because as soon as it refreshes it will reinstall the same file from a cache some where in the system.
So how do I go about completely uninstalling such a driver from the machine?
Can anyone answer this for me? Many thanks.

In device manager you can check were the WLan driver file was installed and how its called.
Choose WLan card -> Properties -> Driver tab -> Driver Details
There you will see the path and how the driver files are called.
Then go to this folder and delete it.

Satellite M45-S265 tries to start then dies

I have a M45-S265 and when I turn it on the light comes on (on the switch), the fan comes on then it just dies. I tried taking the battery out and it worked once then froze. Kept trying over a period of a week, same result, came back after a week, with the battery in and it started then froze again.
I have no idea if this could a faulty switch or what! The fact that it has frozen on the couple of occasions it actually has started has me confused!

Hmm. First of all check if you AC adaptor is ok and if its connected properly to the notebook. You should ensure that AC adaptor provides power to the notebook.
As next step you should check if its not a software issue. In such case you should try to boot from the Recovery disk.
If its not possible to reinstall the OS using such disk then a hardware problem could be possible.
In such case the RAM modules should be checked. Maybe one of the modules or both RAM modules are faulty and therefore the notebook does not run as it should.
Last but not least if you dont have enough resources to perform such notebook test then a notebook technician should be contacted.

Satellite A305-S6898 - half black screen on the start-up

I purchased this laptop back in the beginning of March and had to return it to store due to an issue at start-up when half the screen would turn black on the Windows log in screen. They ordered me a new one that I received about 3 weeks ago and I used it for about a week before I got the same issue of half black screen with the start-up.
Now it has been running really slow and about an hour ago I had it freeze up on me and my entire screen turn into a bunch of colorful lines.
I had to restart into safe-mode and run a virus scan just to make sure that wasn't my problem.
I don't download anything on this computer other than the basic messengers and photo editing programs.
I have an HP MP7170N desktop which i use to download everything that seems to run quicker than the laptop and I use photo programs, downloads torrents and store most of my music and photos on that one and it only has 1GB of memory compared to this ones 4GB.
What is the deal?
Anyone have any ideas as to what I can do.
I can't really return it to the store because they only give a 14-day grace period for returns.

Looks not good for me it sounds a little bit like graphic issue.
Before you would contact a professional Toshiba authorized service provider it would be interesting to know if you would notice some improvements after recovery procedure and BIOS update.
I believe you didnt get an recovery disk because you can create it using the preinstalled Toshiba software check your user manual how to create recovery disk
So after new installation check the notebook usability and if similar issues still persists.
If nothing will be changed its strongly recommended to contact an ASP

Late 2007 MBP went black screen. I've been told it is the logic board but not due to the Nvidia GPU

My sister's Oct 2007 MBP just died suddenly. Yesterday when she opened Entourage it said it couldn't open because there wasn't enough memory. We rebuilt the Entourage Identity and it then worked fine. It wouldn't shut down though, and when woken from sleep went gray then black. The apple store here in Spain says it is the logic board but not due to the Nvidia GPU, and it's not worthwhile to replace it. Is it possible they are wrong? They also say it will cost about 800 Euros to replace! It's a 2Ghz Core 2 Duo/2GB/256MB, EMIC No: 2136.
