Satellite M50D-A : USB 3.0 devices not working in USB 3.0 ports
I can use 2.0 devices in the 3.0 ports fine, but my 3.0 device Flash Voyager USB3 8GB will not work. It connects then disconnects once, not showing up in device manager at all.
I've tried installing the USB driver off this site version 2.0.10.273-130101a for my model. That made no difference.
Install system Windows 8.1
Any ideas? Thanks.
The Voyager USB stick is manufactured by Corsair
I found in Corsair forum some threads and complaints about the troubles connecting the Voyager USB3.0 stick to USB 3.0 ports. Here the link the Corsair threads:

It looks like there are some compatibility problems between the USB controller (from AMD but _not_ Intel) and this USB stick.
One of the solutions could be the usage of other USB 3.0 flash memory sticks which are supported by AMD chipset.
You could also try to update the driver manually. You will need to check firstly the chipsets specs and name. To do that, I recommend you to install some kind of hardware diagnostic software (Everest Home Edit or Sandra Sisoft).
Then you could check on AMD page if an update for this chipset is available.

MacBook Pro Retina USB 2.0 devices not working in right side USB port
4 days ago I bought MacBook Pro Retina 15".
When I plug USB 2.0 device to right side USB port, it does not work. OSX does not recognize it, iPhone does not charge, and so.
When I plug the same USB 2.0 device to left side USB port, it works.
When I plug USB 3.0 device to left or right side USB ports, it works without a problem.
Does anyone have this same issue? How did you resolve it?I have a similar issue with a 13" Retina. Both my ports work OK for most USB devices but the right one won't work with a USB external HD (Time Machine backup). Very consistant.

Can't mount external HDD? "usb 1-1: Device not accepting address"
I just bought a Medion HDDRIVE2GO (Full Speed) from Aldi, and at first when I plugged it in, everything went fine (well, I thought so). Appearently it had some errors with HAL not being able to read the HDD (error name="(unset)").
I gave it a reboot, and now it does not work at all! In dmesg, I have this output (the bottom is the most important I guess)

"rmmod ehci_hcd" made it work for some of these guys Which one of them explains It's a data speed issue. Cables.., 2.0 1.0, that sort of things. Read it, I bet you'll get more out of it, It's old though.
Try removing the module, plugging the drive, check dmesg, and mount manually.

Dual-Boot; Restart and boot other o/s USB devices not working
I have issue with my msi z97-g43 mobo and Windows dual o/s PC.
Booting with win-8.1, USB devices working very well.Restaring windows 8.1 have NOT any issue.
After shutdown & start PC, choosing to boot windows 7 on bootmanager, USB devices not working in Win-7.
System no hang or occur any error/BSOD message. All startup programs run as normal.
I tried to re-plug usb devices but notting happens... Still not working
But after the win-8.1 shutdown, if i switch off PSU power button, watting ~1 munute for discharge.
After power up PC and boot with windows 7 all usb devices works normaly.
I checked all internal connections. 2 times disassembly all hardware and re-built system, nothing changed. All windows updates and latest drivers installed.
I'm sure other H/W is OK, but I thnik this mobo have a fault.Thank you for reply. My PC system specs:
CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2ghz
Board: MSI Z97-G43 /Bios: Ver. V17.7
MEM: G.Skill Ripjaws 2x4gb DDR3-1600mhz cl9 1.5v F3-12800CL9-4GBRL
VGA: Sapphire AMD Redeon HD6670
CASE: Zalman z3 plus white (5x 120mm fan)
PSU: Thermaltake Litepower 500w (12v1+12v2=36amp)
HDD-1: Seagate 1TB ST1000DM003 /HDD-2: Seagate 2TB ST2000DM001
COOLER: Akasa 92mm PWM Blue Led
OC: CPU:Default /MEM: X.M.P mode=1600mhz 9-9-9-24-2t 1.5v
O/S: Win7 x64 PRO + Win8.1 x64 PRO (Genuine)
All hdd's have MBR based partition table.Windows 7 & 8.1 installed in non-efi mode.In BIOS Boot sequence is setting up to non-efi Boot(system) drive as primary.
Before I suspect maybe have a short circuit to pcb or similar thing cause this issue.I take out all parts outside the chassis, and ran this system on the antistatic bag and box.Nothing has been changed.
I have Cooler Master Devastator(MB24 + MS2k) USB keyb+mouse set and tplink wn722n usb wireless dongle.
I have one more pc,based on AMD 970+SB950 chipset mainboard and AMD CPU.I exchange all parts to this amd mainbaord and tested for faulted hardware. All intel system H/W's is ok.All works great
Dual boot works perfectly. Not needs to switch off psu/power back and run system again.
I think msi z97-g43 mainbıoard have a problem. -
Usb composite device is an older usb device and might not work in USB 3
I recently bought one Lenovo Yoga 2 11 laptop running Windows 8.1 (64 bit).
When I try to connect my old Brother MFC-3240C printer using USB (2.0), it doesn’t work.
Below are the steps performed:
Connected the printer to USB 2.0 port on laptop (on the right side). Automatically installed the printer driver (no exclamation mark beside printer icon)
When the printer didn’t print, I tried to use troubleshoot as below:
Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Devices and Printers->Right Click on Printer Icon->Troubleshoot.
It came up with USB composite device is an older usb device and might not work in USB 3.0
Removed the printer and re-installed the driver. It is all the same.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
FYI – the same printer works fine with my older laptops running Windows 7.Already checked Brothers website for the printer drivre for Windows 8.1 (64 bit).
It says ... The built-in driver is already included with Windows® Operating System or is available through Windows® update.
So, installed the default driver for the printer that is available with Windows 8.1.
Even connected the printer with USB 3.0 port on the laptop, but it is all the same. -
I have an Ipod Touch, it appears inactive and says "connect to Itunes". When I connect to the PC, the PC says "USB device not working". How could do to solve this problem?

iphone 4S will not charge, error that USB device not working, found any suggestions?
Hello Chambless,
The troubleshooting steps below can help get your iPhone to charge.
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

Z87-G45 USB Mass Storage & other devices not working (except keyboard/mouse)
My Z87-G45 died on me last month in warranty so I received a replacement one.
Unfortunatly I'm experiencing mayor USB issues.
- In Bios mode, no USB mass storage devices are detected (usb stick/disk). USB keyboard and mouse work fine
- In Windows no USB device except for the keyboard and mouse are detected.
- Can't see USB Mass Storage Device driver in the USB controllers list
Installed all latest drivers + CMOS CLEAR just in case. Results stay the same.
I assume it's best that I return the motherboard?
Kind regards
FrederickQuote from: frederick.dhont on Today at 02:43:46
All drivers are already all up-to-date
I also want to stress that USB mass storage devices are not detected in BIOS, NOR as bootable USB device. So I can't upgrade BIOS even if I wanted to.
have you done >>Clear CMOS Guide<< with power cord removed?
have you tested with mainboard out of PC case placed over wooden table? -
In my macbook pro hdmi, usb & SD card reader not working
In my macbook pro hdmi, usb & sc card reader not working.
i have tried the SRM reset done, till not working started.
Could you please resolve this problem,Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Simply take it to an Apple Store or reseller if it's in warranty. Your Mac will be repaired or replaced for free because it looks a hardware problem rather than a software issue.
If it's not in warranty, hold Command and R keys while your MacBook is starting up, and reinstall OS X. If it doesn't work, you can't do much more to solve the problem -
I have purchased new iphone 3gs, its usb cable and charger not working. When I plugged in usb cable to my laptop it says"usb power hub exceeded". When I use another cable I have, it works fine. But the original one not working.Any help?

My laptop biometric device not working.
HI,
I am facing one problem with my hp pavilion dv6 6160se biometric device not working and i also lost my recovery deta. kindly provide me the solution.
and my system also very slow how can i make it fast.
m. asifHi there @Sweeto684
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I understand that your fingerprint reader is not working and that your system is running very slow, but please clarify what you mean by saying you lost the recovery data. Are you referring to the factory recovery image stored on your system, or are you meaning something else?
I am happy to help you with all of this, but need to know more before I can make some useful recommendations. I want to avoid having you do something that could cause a problem with something else, until I know what problem really is.

In My IPhone the sound device not working properly. I can here the sound through head set only.kindly send an idea ti solve this problems
Hello. I sent my WRT1900AC V1 to Linksys four days ago (Monday) via UPS with a RMA. Linksys paid the shipping and everything. The router is still in route, and it should arrive to their offices tomorrow. Once they receive the WRT1900 AC V1, they are going to send me an EA8500 as a replacement. But I have been reading the comments about the EA8500 here in the forum and it seems to have the same problems. I guess the firmware is extremely flawed in both routers (maybe it is almost the same code?). Anyway, I will try the EA8500 and I hope it works. I bought a temporary router from Walmart and I paid $35 for it. It is a Belink N600 DB. I can't believe that a $35 router is working a lot, lot, lot better than my previous $250 WRT1900AC router. Unbelievable. If the EA8500 doesn't work, I'm going to try and get my money back from Linksys, or contact The Consumerist or someone to get my money back and get a Nighthawk instead.
