Satellite P10-554 nvidia geforce fx go5600 driver update

Hi all,
I just tried to update to very last nvidia driver version 78.01. Running the setup I got an error message indicating that the setup routine couldn't find a driver that is compatible with the hardware installed. According to the doc the new update supports the harware installed.
Does someone why I can't update to most recent version?
Thanks in advance
Karl
BTW: I already uninstalled the current driver, rebooted the machine and tried to install the new version without success.

Hi Juan, hi R2D2
thanks for your answers. I found the driver on the german site as well as on the english one:
http://www.nvidia.de/object/winxp_2k_78.01_de.html
http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp_2k_78.01.html
If you follow the link "Products Supported" on this page a list of the supported products is being displayed (I just noticed that the card supported is GeForce FX 5600 and not GeForce FX Go5600). May that's the reason.
The last driver on the Toshiba site is 4.4.8.5.
Since weeks I'm trying to pinpoint a problem that the turns off due to the settings of the power management. But I can't reactivate the display when moving the mouse or pressing the keyboard. So I try to find out if it's a software or a hardware issue, but without success so far.
Best regards
Karl

  • NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT driver update?

How is this done? I can update it in my Boot Camp installation running WinXP but how do I update it under MacOS X? Is it included in the regular OS updates or do I have to do something else? I noticed the other day that there's an update for the 8- series ( which would be what I have if I'm not totally mistaken ) among others.

I don't believe there are any driver updates for OS X.

  • Satellite P10-554 and pinnacle studio 10 problem

When i start using pinnacle studio 10 I get message that I need newer version of display driver. I am using 4.4.8.5. an d cant find later one for my display adapter.
I am using nvidia geforce fx go5600.

    Hi
Did you look on the Toshiba drivers download page or new version of graphic driver?
Generally you should always use the Toshiba graphic driver because it has a own protect function because of graphic overheating issue.
But you can try to use the driver from Nvidia at YOU OWN RISK.
The other drivers could damage the graphic card!!!
    Bye

  • Windows 7 on Satellite P10-554, need Drivers

    Hello,
i installed on my Satellite P10-554 a new Windows 7.
Now i can't find some Drivers for my device, in the special for the USB device,
which breaks off, if i use a external harddrive.
Additionally i got a error code 28 for the base systemdevice (at PCI-bus 2) and
the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" shows, that the driver for ACPI/CMP0101 isnt
    compatibly with W7.
    What can I still do?
    thank you for answer

    Hallo Lupi
I had Satellite P10 in year 2003. So please don't understand me wrong but you have 6 years old notebook, designed for WXP and now you wondering you cannot find Win7 drivers.
What you can do? Nothing. This oldie will not be supported for Win7.
Use supported operating system and be happy. If you want to use newest software I believe it is time for newest hardware. ;)
By the way, Satellite P10 is really nice and absolutely reliable notebook.

  • Satellite P10-554 shuts down after few minutes and I can not reboot

    hello,
i hope anybody can help me with my satellite P10-554
when i start the notebook everything works fine a few minutes. than the monitor turns into black and the notebooks shuts down suddenly. i cannot reboot it, when i push the start-button nothing happens.
i have to wait for about an hour and then i can start it up again, but he works just a minute and shuts down again !
help me please, cause i need my notebook to work !

I did that many times. First you need a special torx-screwdriver. Then you can remove the cover over the fans. Than take your vacuum-cleaner and remove the dust. Take a brush or somethin else to remove the dust from the fans. Then, you need to remove I think 2 big screws, now you should hold the cooling falance in your hands, the one with the fans. Clean that properly.
After that you can remove the copper-cooler, with 2 more screws I think, but it is pretty obviously. Now you should see the blank cpu with lots of heat-paste on it. I dont know why they put so much of this stuff on it from toshiba. So get a better one like Arctic-Silver or sth. My advice is to take the CPU off (one screw on top as far as I remember) and clean the surface.
The copper you can clean under water, but dont use sth that could scratch the surface. After that let it dry good. Now just put the CPU back and fix it with the screw again. Take a !litte! heat paste and put it properly with a paper all over the surface of the CPU, but remember, just a little! Then follow all steps back, dont forget to clean the graphics-chip as well and put some paste on it. You can see which it is when you look under the fan-cooling-falance, there should be a rest of heat-paste. Everything back to its place and voil*, a nice, cool clean notebook. By the way, I replaced even the fans.
If you need further advice, just ask!

  • NVidia GeForce 344.11 Driver Release date 9/18/2014 crashes Win 8.1 Pro

NVidia GeForce 344.11 Driver Release date 9/18/2014 crashes/kills/shuts down Win 8.1 Pro, which also fails to start!
The previous version 340.52 worked ok.
Solution to get a working system:
    1) let Win 8.1 take into use the previous working version (you may loose some app updates)!
    2) let Win 8.1 pro update itself (takes a long time but its worth waiting!)
    Note:
    a. Ten points to Win 8.1 Pro being able to restore the previous working version
note: compare to Linux with eternal rest loop and "kernel in panic" state if you use NVidia's new drivers!!
    b. Zero points to NVidia from this bug!
Continuation: waiting for a well tested new NVidia driver while using the older one

Hi, had exactly the same last night, on  my relatively clean 8.1 64bit, GeForce Experience flagged up a recommended upgrade from 340.52 to 344.11 on my GTX650 ASUS card.   Bumbled along for a while, then blue screened, reported kernel damage,
wouldn't even get far enough to restore, so had to use the 8.1 disks.   Today, given its a completely clean system  I tried again to prove the Nvidia was to blame, and again GeForce flagged up this upgrade,  there's nothing on the system except
for Office and Avast, and again completely crashed and cycled the blue screen trying to boot.   This time it eventually went into repair mode and restored right back to a clean 8.1 without the DVD's, but still had to reinstall my apps.   Lots about
this on forums,  seems this upgrade scrambles the registry big time.  Anyone know what the actual cause of this was  ??   Pretty fed up with Nvidia releasing untested crap like this.

  • MSI nVidia GeForce 4200 TI driver problem

Hi.. I really need your help guys..
First of all, I have Windows XP Pro.
Okay, I have this MSI nVidia GeForce 4200 TI card, and wanted to change drivers.
I had 50.xx, and wanted to change back to 40.xx, because it works better with Counter-Strike.
So, I went into Device Manager and went into the video card properties -> driver.
I pressed the 'Uninstall driver', because you need to uninstall the newer driver if you want to install an older driver.
Then my computer restarted, and when it was booting, a blue screen or something came up, with text about my computer was deleting and scanning some files(?).
I don't know what it was uninstalling excatly, but when I got into Windows I had to use a 'VGA driver' or something..
I tried to install the 40.xx driver, double clicked the Setup.exe but when it was begining to install this error came up: 'An error occured while launching the setup. (0x80040702)'.
I don't know what it means, but I can't install any drivers for nVidia?!
I tried the Device manager, and I can't update the 'VGA' ..
It's like my computer isn't recognizing the card or something.. I've tried 'Add new hardware' and everything.
    Please help me!
    Thanks in advance.
    P.S. My PC specs:
    Intel Pentium4 2.0GHz
    Some IBM mainboard
    512DDR
    GeForce 4200 TI
    Windows XP Pro

Generally for nVidia drivers for the VGA, is what I explained above by going to Add Remove programs in control panel and look for the entry for nVidia display drivers.
Since you are asking me this, I fear you may not be at the experience level required to do this as it can be somewhat of a nightmare if all the drivers are not removed completely. This is what you just experienced.
Look at the top of this forum and you will se an Important thread called driver cleaner, by Bonz and then the one above it by me. Go to the DriverHeaven Website and download the DC utility but make sure you read EVERYTHING and understand it before you proceed. If you are confused or not comfortable, then I suggest finding someone that is experienced enough to do it for you.
    It should be pretty straightforward.
    Good luck

  • Nvidia Geforce 8600M GT Driver for Vista

    Hi mac-world!
I'm using BootCamp to start Windows Vista on my Mac Book Pro. I recently bought a seperate TFT-Display from Belinea, which I connect to my Mac Book via DVI. This isn't a Problem while using MacOS, but in Vista I can't adjust the resolution of the seperate Display to more than 1024x768 px. I already installed the Belinea Driver, but that doesn't solve the problem.
I am wondering, if I maybe need a driver update for the grafic-card. Unfortunately, Nvidia doesn't provide a driver download, but says, I need to contact my Laptop-Vendor for this issue. I didn't find a driver-download section on this page. Does someone know a solution? Where do I get the new driver?
    Thanks in advance
    regards
    Thorsten

In my case after going through normal Shut Down procedures, I
noted that after I go through normal shut-down-from-Windows, the machine does not power off. I can only turn off the machine by pressing the power switch for a few seconds.
    When I do not press this switch, Windows restarts after about ten minutes;
after, however, I receive a brief report (which I never manage to read in full)
informing me that a software may not have been properly installed or that I
    need a windows update.
This problem appeared long after I installed all the software that I use,
and I have checked whether I'm fully updated (I am).
Lately when I start-up after experiencing this problem, Windows indicates
that the problem is caused by an NVIDIA graphics driver and suggests that I
check for a driver update. I have tried the NVIDIA Website but there was no
reference to the graphics card installed in my machine, namely GeForce 8600M
GT - I only found a driver for GeForce 8700M GT.
I have since solved the problem as rerported in http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1492731&tstart=0
However, I stll wonder why there is no reference to 8600 in the NVIDIA site.

  • NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT driver for Vista x64

    Hello,
I have an issue with my new MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz 17" that was released on the 5th of June, 2007.
It has NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT installed on it and I simply cannot find Vista 64 bit drivers for it.
I have tried the latest beta Vista x64 drivers (163.11) downloaded from nVidia's official website. I have tried several previous versions including 100.97 one, which contains drivers for 8600M GT model. But they don't work with me. All the driver installation programs allert the following error and quit:
'The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit'.
I also tried Vista 32-bit drivers for 8600M GT. The driver installation program claims the operation system is wrong and quits.
    Anybody has the same issue?
Does a working driver of nVidia GeForce 8600M GT for Vista x64 exist at all?
MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz   Windows Vista   nVidia GeForce 8600M GT

There was one Apple's presentstion where they boot into Windows Vista. So if you claim you can do it why do you forget about Vista x64 customers? I reckon it is because of Leopard that is coming. But it's not an excuse.
I'm currently working in Vista x64 and everything is fine except one thing, I cannot find a working graphics card driver and it is manufacturer's responsibility to provide it. Apple knew there going to be customers who will install Vista x64 on their computers and they at Apple didn't care about it because I guess it's a lame war between you know who.
So why you don't make everything perfect to attract even more Windows customers but instead you hint that you don't care about Vista x64 as you are getting your own 64-bit OS soon. So now they are forcing me to wait having been announced that I can use Vista. But isn't that kind of lame that it's slightly tardy? Why I should wait for Leopard launch if I was insured that Windows will work on my Macbook Pro? Because Apple claim you can run Windows. And don't say it's not official. Who else if not Apple made it possible to run Windows on Mac.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to insult you. I'm just angry that I cannot find a working driver.

    Plz help

    Hi,
I solved this problem yesterday, I used low quality cable and it work fine. I was using very high quality cable and it was not working. I think it is because of the quality of the signal the high quality cable required a strong signal. By the way I I connected the low quality S-Video cable and it shows low quality picture on the TV but after I activate the TV out and it was shown on the TV I switched to the high quality cable and it gave me better picture quality.

  • Can BIOS update enable usage of 2GB DDR RAM modules on Satellite P10-554?

    Hello,
I got a Satelite p10-554 and want to upgrad my RAM.
I know by default the max u can install is two 1GB Kits.
Is there any Bios-Update, that enables 2GB kits???
    Thanx a lot!
    Ron

    Hello Ron
The same situation with my P20! Unfortunately there is no BIOS update to allows more RAM usage.

  • Satellite P10-554 turns off, cant start again, but led lights still burning

my P10-554 shuts down after few minutes. after that, i cannot start it again, but the led lights are still burning. when i wait a few minutes or hours, then i can reboot my notebook again, but he runs for about one or two minutes and then shuts himself down again...
i thought of a problem with the fan or something like that, but why are the led lights still burning after the shutdown ? what can i do ?

Usually if the AC adaptor is connected to the PC some LED are on. For example the battery LED lights green when its fully charged.
However, its not usual that the notebook shuts down after several minutes of running and for me it sound definitely like a hardware fault.
The problem is that a common user like me and you is mostly not able to fix or locate the malfunction. You need definitely a help from a technician with much more experience.
The ASP guys could run the diagnostic tests and are able to find out whats wrong on the board.

  • MSI Geforce 3 Ti200 Driver Updates for ME

Why can't the drivers be updated past 44.03 in Windows ME?
    Multi-boot two operating systems
    Abit KG7-Raid
    AMD Athlon XP 1800+
    512 MB DDR
    MSI Geforce3 Ti-200 TD Pro:
MSI 44.03 drivers with Windows ME
Nvidia 52.16 drivers with Windows XP Pro
    Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer
Cambridge Sound Works FPS2000 Digital Surround Speakers
NEC 97F 19" Flat Screen Monitor
    Linksys 10/100 Etherfast NIC
    Maxtor 30 GB HD
    IBM 10 GB HD
    Yamaha CDRW
    Microsoft Internet Keyboard Pro
    Microsoft Intellimouse Optical
US Robotix 56K modem (until NOV. 20, 2003 when cable broadband available   )
I run all my games on WME so that I have more RAM available for the game (XP is memory hog) and because my flight control setup (CH Force FX {14 programmable buttons}, CH Pro Throttle {20 programmable buttons}, CH Pedals) is not recognized in WXP.
I received HALO as a birthday gift. It loaded fine. I ran it and it continually locked up at the main menu screen of the game. The Audio part of the game continued to advance, but the video got stuck. My wife loaded the game and tried to run it and got the same results, she has only WXP for an OS on an MSI K7T 266 Pro 2 RU motherboard. She upgraded her MSI Geforce3 Ti-200 TD Pro drivers from MSI 44.03 to NVIDIA 52.16 and HALO then ran flawlessly.
MSI has upgraded drivers 45.32 and Nvidia has upgraded drivers 45.23. Both of these drivers locked up my machine each and everytime I installed them. My machine runs the NVIDIA 56.12 drivers without any problem on Windows XP PRO. I had to uninstall the MSI 45.32 and/or NVIDIA 45.23 drivers and reload the MSI 44.03 drivers to get WME to boot up. HALO will not run on the 44.03 drivers. One of the techs from microsoft called me at home the last two nights in a row to try and resolve this issue. Conclusion at end of night one was updated video drivers needed to be installed. Conclusion at end of night two was that there was a hardware problem with the the conclusion that video card was not accepting drivers above 44.03 for the Windows Millenium Edition Operating System. There was no listing at either NVIDIA or MSI video driver site for any drivers beyond 44.03 other than NVIDIA 45.23 or MSI 45.32 respectively.
The burning question is this: As with some of the previous NVIDIA drivers are the new releases compatible with all of the operating systems? I ask this because looking in the NVIDIA 52.16 drivers folder that gets extracted I see references in the read me file to W98,W98SE,WME. Why does the MSI Geforce 3 Ti-200 card accept the NVIDIA 52.16 drivers with WXP PRO and not the NVIDIA 45.23 not the MSI 45.32 drivers with WME (and I assume W98 & W98SE?)
    Interested in the response.
    Thanks.

Judging from the problems I and several other people on the forum have mentioned, there seems to be a problem with the nVidia 45.23 drivers and video. I get a grey screen with vids unless i turn down the hardware accel to almost nothing. Other people can get vid to show on their tv out. So if you havn't tried an older driver version yet, maybe you could use the good old xp driver rollback in the video device properties.

  • Re: Satellite Z30-A with Win 8.1 - Driver update confusion

    Hello,
I have a question regarding driver updates. Currently, Windows Update recommends me to update the audio driver (important) and the LAN driver (optional). Toshiba Service Station, however, doesnt offer new drivers for these devices.
My question is whether I should install these updates (particularly the important one) or if they are not approved by Toshiba yet?
Moreover, does anyone have a changelog for the new 3.8 Bios?
    Thanks!

Thanks for the quick replies! I was just tempted because one of the updates was classified as "important", for whatever reason, which are normally those updates that should be installed (e.g. for security reasons). In fact you are right, I dont have any problems with my laptop.
Sorry, forgot to state the model: Z30-A with Win 8.1
Any ideas about the bios update?
    Thanks!
