Satellite P100-196 - Does Bios (4.80) includes the EC/KBC update?

Does anybody know whether the Satellite P100 BIOS update (4.80) includes the EC/KBC update? I downloaded the BIOS from this website and installed it but it does not show whether the EC/KBC has been updated as well.
If there is a seperate update for the EC/KBC where can I download it?

As far as I know the EC/KBC rewriting disk is available for ASP technicians only.
So you will not find it separately for download on the Toshiba driver pages.
Only the BIOS is available for download and usually the EC/KBC should be a part of the BIOS update.

Does 10.5.1 include the keychain & login update?

I installed on a new 20" aluminum iMac, which for some reason came with tiger installed and a Leopard install disk. I updated to 10.5.1. Software update does not show that I need the keychain and login update. I am having a problem with parental controls though that may be a bug therein.
My question: should I apply the keychain and login update? What about the iMac software update 1.3 which also did not show in Software Update?

In general don't ever install updates that don't show up in Software Update. The Software Update knows what is and isn't needed and only gives you what is needed. My bet is that the Login and Keychain update as well as the iMac update are included with 10.5.1.

I tried clicking on the Adobe Flash Player. It said it accepted it but it did not make a difference.

You haven't actually asked a question, but as stated you should only download Flash Player directy from Adobe.
Nor have you said what version of OS X and Safari you are running.
You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3 or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.0.1.152 is for Lion.

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

Satellite P100-119: Is it possible to upgrade the CPU to Duo Core?

Ive a Satellite P100-119 Notebook with 1,66Ghz (Duo Core). Is it possible to install a faster CPU (2,0 Ghz Duo Core) in this Notebook, without exchanging the Mainboard?

Yep, that's theorically possible. Both CPUs fit in the same physical 479Y socket, and today's BIOSes are smart enough to check the CPU speed.
However, if you're gonna do this by yourself, have lots of care when disassembling your laptop, and keep in mind that it may void the warranty. Keep in mind that you risk turning your laptop into a useless heap of junk if anything goes wrong (e.g. bad dissasembly or bad use of thermal grease). I repeat: be extra careful if you're replacing the CPU by yourself. Go to a service partner if in doubt.

Does iOS 5.x need the new SSL update

I have an original ipad running 5.1.1 (the highest available). Do I need the Feb. 22, 2014 SSL update?

No. The update is for iOS 6 and 7. iOS 5 cannot get it, and does not need it as the vulnerability is not present in that version.

Satellite P100-434 does not have Intel Vitualisation (VT)

Hi,
My shiney new P100-434 which cost me a fairly serious amount of money does not have Intel Vitualisation (VT) enabled which is annoying because I went for this laptop specifically because it was Core 2 Duo which supports VT and I want it in order to run KQEMU faster under Linux.
There is no option to switch it on in the BIOS and no updated BIOS available either.
Anyone know if a BIOS with the option to enable this feature is coming or suggestions for who I should complain at to make this happen faster? I see plenty of other people in the forums with other models that similarly have it disabled by default and no BIOS option to turn it on!

Satellite P100-434 Older BIOS needed

Hello everyone,
I'm in serious need of an older BIOS version for a P100-434 (PSPAD/E) laptop. I recently flashed my BIOS with the latest version 4.80 and am having problems:
- My CD/DVD Drive has disappeared
- According to SpeedFan everything except HD0 is on fire - Temp1, Core 0 and 1 above 50C and my GPU above 60C
- The fans keep going off like crazy
- It sometime freezes
After flashing, it automatically rebooted and froze for 10sec or more and then Windows took ages to load all the drivers (the loading bar kept going for 21sec or more, usually only takes half that).
I was running version 4.70 before and had completely (as far as I could tell) no problems with it but I thought updating it might give me better stability. I would really appreciate any help you can give, thanks.

When the new BIOS update is available old version is not downloadable anymore. What you can try is to contact nearest authorized service provider and ask for help. They have access to Toshiba database and Im pretty sure they can obtain older version for you.
1/ to be honest I cannot imagine ODD issue has anything to do with BIOS update. Is optical disc drive recognized in BIOS, device manager or Windows explorer? Remove it from the device manager list, restart notebook and check functionality again. Check also method offered by Akuma
2/ Believe me these temperatures are not critical so there is no reason for panic.
3/ if you want to reduce cooling fan activity change settings for cooling method. These settings you can find in Toshiba power saver utility.
4/ For such periodical freezing issues is not easy to offer some solution. Watch carefully what happen exactly. Maybe is some certain activity responsible for this freezing issues.

Adobe PDF converter does not convert and include the videos from websites when completed

Have just recently upgraded to Acrobat Pro X and have attempted to convert several on-line websites to PDF's. In each and every case, the videos were not included in the final conversion to PDF.
Not sure if there are specific settings that I need to address or if I am doing something wrong here. Have been told by colleagues it should be a simple click to achieve these results and that Acrobat X does convert and include videos. These videos are in Adobe Flash Player format 11.1.102.63. Not sure where to go from here, any assistance greatly appreciated!

In the IE toolbar, under the PDF Convert button, select Preferences. Click on the Conversion Setting button under the General tab and make sure that "Embed Multimedia Content when possible" is selected.

Does a VDA subscription include the OS (Win7/8) license or JUST the right to connect to the OS?

As per my research, Windows VDA only provides licensing rights for the Windows client operating system (OS) itself. Windows VDA is a device based subscription designed to help organizations license devices that do not qualify for Windows Client SA, such as
thin clients and contractor-owned PCs, so these devices can access a virtual desktop.
One Windows VDA license entitles the device to connect to up to four VMs concurrently. VDI Suites are licensed on a per device basis, which means that only the number of devices accessing the VDI environment matters for the number of VDI Suite licenses required.
The number of VMs accessed by each device does not matter for the number of VDI Suite licenses needed.

JSTL 1.1 has no relation to j2sdk1.5.0
You only need JSTL if you are writing jsp pages. For that you need a servlet container eg Tomcat/Jetty/Jrun etc.
The version of JSTL you wish to use is determined by the version of the servlet container you are using. If it fits the Servlet 2.3/JSP1.2 spec, you want JSTL1.0
If it is a Servlet2.4/JSP2.0 container, then you use JSTL1.1
Tomcat 5 and above is a JSP2.0 container.
Given j2sdk1.5.0, and Tomcat 5.5, you should have JSTL1.1
Does that clear things up?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but i see that they specifically mention this on the Mac OS version writeup, but not the iOS version. I'd like to try it out for the lessons.

ICal does not work properly since the last OS update

Hi everybody,
I run a Macbook 15 Retina RAM 16Gb with Mac OS 10.8.4. Over the past months (I think after updating the OS), iCal has not been working properly. TO make a long story short, as you can see on the screen cap, it is no longer possible to select the kind of calendar/color etc when right clicking. In order for example to create a "Meetings" event (see left column on the screen cap), what i need to do now, is to find a previous event (i.e. created before iCal stopped to work) then copy and paste it to the time when I want it to happen in the future and then modify it. Not convenient at all.
This is kind of surreal (that such a bug has not been fixed yet) to given the price of the Mac and that iCal is part of the core apps of the OS. I looked over the Internet and did not find a solution. But I must have missed things. Hence I would be very very grateful if anyone could help me.

Why is my mac shutting down in middle of my age of empires 3 game. did not do this until 10.6.8 everything including the game is updated.

Do an SMC reset, which can fix problems with the system randomly shutting down:
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
