Satellite P100-221 NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 TV-Out problem

hi , i have Toshiba Satellite P100-221 , with NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS , it has a tv-out (S-video) , i got the cable & connected it & nothing appears on TV , & when i go to Settings-Advanced & see the options of the video card , i found nothing related to changing the display to the TV or anything....
When i searched in the Manual , i found all the explanation based on NVIDIA GeForce Go 7500 :(

Plz help

Hi,
I solved this problem yesterday, I used low quality cable and it work fine. I was using very high quality cable and it was not working. I think it is because of the quality of the signal the high quality cable required a strong signal. By the way I I connected the low quality S-Video cable and it shows low quality picture on the TV but after I activate the TV out and it was shown on the TV I switched to the high quality cable and it gave me better picture quality.

  • Satellite P100-221 - where can I buy it?

    Hi,
I am looking for a shop in London with Satellite P100-221. Do you know where can I buy this model?

I dont live in London and Im also not from England but I can believe that you are not able to buy this notebook in London.
You will find in London definitely a notebook store. Am I wrong?
The guys should be able to order it from the Toshiba. The other possibility is to ask the Toshiba service partner for a notebook ordering.
Please visit the find the authorized service partner database.

  • Satellite P100-221: FN keys combinations don't work properly

    Hello,
I have satellite p100-221 with preinstalled Win XP MCE. After one week of using my computer a problem with blue function keys appeared. fn-f1, fn-f2 and all the other fn keys combinations do not work properly. They seem to work, I can change the brightness, switch the touchpad on and off and so on, but no info icon on the screen appears. On the beginning while pressing the function keys combination the icons on the screen appeared. How can i solve this problem? Is it software or hardware related?
    Thanks for all help.

    Hi
I dont believe that this issue is related to hardware.
I would recommend updating the Hotkey utility.
On the Toshiba driver page I have found two different versions:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU
Your unit is Satellite P100-221 so I assume the further number should be PSPA6E.
Be sure that you use the right drivers for this unit.

  • Satellite P100-347 - nVidia drivers up to date?

Can Toshiba support please fix some up to date vista drivers for:
    Satellite P100-347...(pspa6e)
this should be up to date at Toshiba`s homepage, because the drivers on
nvidia.com don`t work on my Toshiba notebook....
    Thnx

It is well known that drivers downloaded from graphic card manufacturers support pages cannot be installed on mobile computers. Every notebook manufacturer must be sure that display driver will work well on specific notebook model and will not force graphic card to run on maximum level.
I hope you can understand why notebook manufacturers do this.
Anyway you can just hope that your message will be read by Toshiba support department. ;)

  • Satellite P100-221 - How can I access WiFi networks?

    I have a P100-221.
I want to access WiFi networks.
I dont know how to do it. Which driver should I install?
    Any help please?
    Regards
    Nevzat

    Hello
If Windows recognize a WiFi network you can access and normally you will need a password. If you know this, you have access to the network.
Furthermore WLAN must be enabled with the WiFi switch on the notebook and by pressing FN+F8.
For this its not necessary to install a driver but if you need a driver you can find it on the Toshiba website.
I think you should look in the user manual. There you can a lot of informations about your notebook and informations how to access to a WiFi networks.
Sometimes its very useful the user manual.

  • Does NVidia GeForce 8800GT have a heat problem?

I have an older heavy-duty Mac Pro running with 8-core Intel 3.2Ghz Xeon processors and 18GBytes RAM, using an NVidia GeForce 8800GT display controller driving a 30' Apple Cinema display. After the Mac Pro has been on for half a day the white semitranslucent bars start to appear and gradually the screen goes to nearly all white if I leave it on long enough. In about an hour after I turn it off, the display is fine.
What component is the likely cause of this behavior? I do not hear any fan noise. Should I?
I have seen other reports of heat problems with temperatures and fan speeds mentioned. How do I find this out for the Mac Pro? MacOS verion is 10.6.3.

Less than 80ºC (load) is desired, but up to 85ºC may be seen. A good cooler would keep the processor down in the mid 60's to mid 70's under load.
Prolonged temps at and above the mid 90's will reduce component life.
Certainly temps over 100ºC would be terminal in the long run.
One would hope to see the card run between 50ºC at idle and no higher than the mid 80's under load.
Lower load temps (mid 70's) are better.......
The 8800 GT is getting old. Any card approaching or exceeding 5 years of use should have the thermal compound replaced.
All fan equipped graphics cards need to be kept clean and dust free. A dust clogged heat exchanger is almost as bad as no cooler at all.

  • Satellite P100 (PSPA6E) Graphic Card Trouble NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900

I have big trouble with my graphic card!
Sometimes the whole display is a kind of "broken"... everywhere are kinds of artefacts to see, yellow "blocks" which are everywhere on top of all
opened tasks / windows like a kind of semi-transparent "mask".
I already tried to reinstall driver without success. Even if I shutdown and reboot the system... no success.
The failure is remaining, maybe the 512MB memory of the geforce is broken? Sometimes it happens that the failure is disappearing from a moment to another
    moment...
I really need some help... at the moment I´m writing my diploma and I really need my notebook for working.
    regards
    Christian

    > The failure is remaining; maybe the 512MB memory of the Geforce is broken? Sometimes it happens that the failure is disappearing from a moment to another
According to your description it looks like a hardware issue but its not easy to say what could be wrong exactly.
You could try to connect the external monitor to the notebook and could check if the same would appear on the second monitor. If the same would appear on the connected monitor then a graphic card problem could be possible.
Did you use non-Toshiba graphic card driver? If yes, then this could be the reason why the graphic card malfunctions. Fact is that non-Toshiba graphic drivers dont support a GPU overheating protection and in such case the GPU could overheats.
Therefore a 3rd party graphic driver can be used ONLY at your own risk!
However, if there is a hardware problem an ASP must be contacted!!!
I really dont see another solution s to ask an authorized service provider for a check.
    Best regards & Good luck

  • Satellite X200-21F: Nvidia geforce 8600m GT shows only 256MB

High everyone, thanks for reading this thread.
    I bought an Sat x200-21F.
So the problem is that the dedicated memory on my geforce 8600m GT is supposed to be 512MB, but it only shows 256MB.
I activated the sli mode, but it still only shows 256MB of dedicated graphic ram.
The funny thing is, it does not even seem to have better performances in games!
If anyone can help me to enable the 512mo of dedicated memory?
    That would be nice thanks.

the problem is: you would NEVER get the power of the two GPU's, because the Pc identify's the two graphic-cards, but you could only use one, at least for games, because to use these two cards effectively, you must have also an Nvdia- cipset (board)---but the toshiba laptops have got one from Intel: http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/cmod.to?coid=-33936 (look into the detailed specs! )
but thats at least this what i'm thinking, shared by many other people with this problem.
However, you could get a bit power back, if you change the nvidia settings...search for that in the internet, i swear you find helpsites... also, you must try to get always the newest nvidia drivers (also forceware drivers-which is the same *idontknow*) and disable/deactivate unused programms beore gaming... but although this is very bad, ALL my games are running well!
--> use newest drivers (not on the toshiba website, they are old ... go again to laptopvideo2go.com), change nvidia control pannel settings (help on internet) and: DEACTIVATE VISTA AERO-PROGRAMMS! They really munch your working memory... ( search also for programms like "ATITool" or "RivaTuner" to try to overclockingyou GPU...but be careful! (i dont use it, its to difficult for me))
Much luck for your next gaming-experience^^

  • Satellite P10-554 nvidia geforce fx go5600 driver update

    Hi all,
I just tried to update to very last nvidia driver version 78.01. Running the setup I got an error message indicating that the setup routine couldn't find a driver that is compatible with the hardware installed. According to the doc the new update supports the harware installed.
Does someone why I can't update to most recent version?
    Thanks in advance
    Karl
BTW: I already uninstalled the current driver, rebooted the machine and tried to install the new version without success.

    Hi Juan, hi R2D2
thanks for your answers. I found the driver on the german site as well as on the english one:
    http://www.nvidia.de/object/winxp_2k_78.01_de.html
    http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp_2k_78.01.html
If you follow the link "Products Supported" on this page a list of the supported products is being displayed (I just noticed that the card supported is GeForce FX 5600 and not GeForce FX Go5600). May that's the reason.
The last driver on the Toshiba site is 4.4.8.5.
Since weeks I'm trying to pinpoint a problem that the turns off due to the settings of the power management. But I can't reactivate the display when moving the mouse or pressing the keyboard. So I try to find out if it's a software or a hardware issue, but without success so far.
    Best regards
    Karl

  • Need Vista 64-bit drivers for Geforce Go 7900 gs for Satellite P100-437

    Hi,
I just installed Vista 64 and the vista driver on the site is not recognised by windows and Nvidia doesn't have a driver available on their site either. It is for a Toshiba P100-437 satellite laptop, running a Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GS graphics card.
What do I do? Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

Toshiba does not provide any 64bit drivers; neither for Vista nor for XP.
    I would recommend checking the 3rd party sites like;
    www.laptopvideo2go.com
    www.omegadrivers.net

  • Satellite P100: Why the Nvidia 7900 graphic card is not available in UK?

Why is the nvidia 7900 gpu not available in the p100 in UK? In mainland Europe & Middle East the 7900gs is available. The 7900 gtx in the states is available.
    Why?

    Hi
I dont believe that its not possible to buy a P100 with the Nvidia 7900 graphic card in UK. If you cannot purchase it form the notebook dealer in your city so I would say check the notebook online shops.
I have investigated a little bi and found these P100 units with the nVidia 7900 graphic card.
    Satellite P100-426; P100-194; P100-191; P100-196; P100-215; P100-222
I have found three different graphic cards which were delivered with the P100:
NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900; GeForce Go 7600 and Intel 945GM Express
Anyway, the P100 is a new notebook and possibly you cannot buy it in every shop but in my opinion in several times this unit should be available in the UK with the GeForce Go 7900

  • Satellite P100-286 - Vertical lines on the screen and constant reboots

I got this P100-286 with Nvidia Geforce Go 7900 GS and recently the laptop started freezing with vertical lines on the screen tried different options even tried recovery cd to re-install and after installation it started doing the same. I have read similar problems in the forum and is this a common problem with Toshiba? I have spend 1500 on this and it is only 3 years old. My friends have laptops older than this almost 6 years and in good working condition.
Is there any solution or suggestion for this problem? The heat on the base of the laptop is really hot and it is like this for ages.
Any help is really appreciated after spending this much would like to last longer or it is a realibility issue with Toshiba brand.

It is happening in BIOS and even tried ubuntu on a boot cd and still having the same problem. I took to a PC servicing center they immediatly said it is a graphics card problem. The lines are comming in an external display as well. If you search in this forum you will see similar issues is reported by another user. I do think it is a genuine problem. The graphics chip is on board and it cost a lot to replace it that is what I been told.

  • Games won't run above 1024 x 768 on Satellite P100-240

I have a Satellite P100-240 with geforce 7900gs 512mb graphics, running xpmc, games run fine however they will not run above 1024 x 768.
The native resolution is 1400 x 900 but the scaling feature does not seem to work. If i try to run anyhing above 1024 it eithers goes to a default value like 640x480 or the i can only see part of the image (like the rest if off screen) is there anything i can do?
My old P10 used to just scale image to fit the wide screen.

    Hi
To be honest I dont think that this is a notebook problem.
As far as I know the screen resolution can be changed in the games setup.
This fact applies to all games which I have played.
But there is no harm to try a graphic driver update.
You could try to use an nVidia driver from the www.laptopvideo2go.com site

  • Satellite P100-347 - Can't install new VAP

When using the Flash Cards they always "mess up" i.e. blurring and basically they are unusauable. So I went on the toshiba website and downloaded the newest Value Added Package.
However, when I start the installation it says its already installed and I should remove in add/remove programs (control panel). However, it is nowhere to be seen in the list and ive also looked into it on ccleaner and advanced unistaller pro. There's no way I can remove the old one....therefore I cant install the new one!
    Any ideas?
