Satellite P100 (PSPA6E) Graphic Card Trouble NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900

I have big trouble with my graphic card!
Sometimes the whole display is a kind of "broken"... everywhere are kinds of artefacts to see, yellow "blocks" which are everywhere on top of all
opened tasks / windows like a kind of semi-transparent "mask".
I already tried to reinstall driver without success. Even if I shutdown and reboot the system... no success.
The failure is remaining, maybe the 512MB memory of the geforce is broken? Sometimes it happens that the failure is disappearing from a moment to another
moment...
I really need some help... at the moment I´m writing my diploma and I really need my notebook for working.
regards
Christian

According to your description it looks like a hardware issue but its not easy to say what could be wrong exactly.
You could try to connect the external monitor to the notebook and could check if the same would appear on the second monitor. If the same would appear on the connected monitor then a graphic card problem could be possible.
Did you use non-Toshiba graphic card driver? If yes, then this could be the reason why the graphic card malfunctions. Fact is that non-Toshiba graphic drivers dont support a GPU overheating protection and in such case the GPU could overheats.
Therefore a 3rd party graphic driver can be used ONLY at your own risk!
However, if there is a hardware problem an ASP must be contacted!!!
I really dont see another solution s to ask an authorized service provider for a check.
Best regards & Good luck

  • Reg: Upgrading my graphics card to NVIDIA geforce GTX 760/780

    Hi,
I am working with a Dell Precision work station 690 which currently uses a NVIDIA QUADRO FX 3450.. I want to upgrade this to a high end graphics card mostly NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760/780.. However , when I read the Specs for Dell Precision work station 690, it is mentioned that is support memory only till 512.. Are high end graphics card compatible with my PC? Will there be any power issues? I have an extra 6 pin cord from PSU on my PC.
    --Thanks ,
    Rama

Check if your chosen video card requires UEFI.
The GeForce GTX 960 failed in my Precision 690.
Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit would not boot with this card.
I believe the issue is that this card requires a motherboard with UEFI which the 690 does not have.
Other posts report that the GeForce 750 Ti fails also because of lack of UEFI.
I found this site on Dell which says that the Radeon R9 280X will work in a 690:
     http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&sku=a7272920
Note in the above URL  the requirement for a 1000W power supply. Some video cards require two (2) 6-pin or one (1) 6-pin and one (1) 8-pin connector from the power supply.
    Hope this helps.

    Plz help

    Hi,
I solved this problem yesterday, I used low quality cable and it work fine. I was using very high quality cable and it was not working. I think it is because of the quality of the signal the high quality cable required a strong signal. By the way I I connected the low quality S-Video cable and it shows low quality picture on the TV but after I activate the TV out and it was shown on the TV I switched to the high quality cable and it gave me better picture quality.

  • New IMac GeForce 8800 GS Graphics card is really GeForce 8800M GTS

After calling NVIDIA I've finally discovered what this graphics card REALLY is.
This card is NOT the GeForce GS that was recently renamed to 9600 GSO. That card has 384 MB GDDR3 Memory with 550 Core Speed.
The new IMac GeForce is 8800M GTS.
Heres some specs on the new card:
    Pipelines 64 - unified
    Core Speed 500 MHz
    Memory Speed 800 MHz
    Memory Bus Width 256 Bit
    Memory Type GDDR3
    Max.Memory 512 MB
    Shared Memory No
    DirectX DirectX 10, Shader 4.0
    Power Consump 35 Watt
    Transistors Million
Features 1250 MHz Shader clock, Pure Video technology (H.264, VC-1, MPEG2, WMV9 decoder acceleration), HDCP-capable, PowerMizer 7.0 energy management (dynamic switching between performance and energy saving), HDR (high dynamic-range lighting), designed for Windows Vista, Dual-Link DVI-D exits for resolutions from TFT up to 2560x1600, PCI-E 16x, OpenGL 2.1, Gigathread technology.
Anyway, hope this clears up some confusion for people. I know it baffled me for a good few.

  • Is there a big difference between Intel Iris Pro graphics and the NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M graphics processor with 1GB of GDDR5 memory

Is there a big difference between Intel Iris Pro graphics and the NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M graphics processor with 1GB of GDDR5 memory, is it worth paying an extra $200?

Software support of graphics card is key.   If no graphics card is mentioned in software specs, then it can be ignored.  Mostly games and high end image and video graphics software are affected.

  • Upgrade MacPro1,1 with ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512 MB and Open GL 1.7.7. to recommended system requirements for heli simulator: OpenGL Version 2.1 compatible 3D-graphics card from NVIDIA or ATI with 512MB.

I want to install a helicopter simulator into my MacPro1,1 with ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512 MB and Open GL 1.7.7. Recommended system requirements for the heli simulator are: OpenGL Version 2.1 compatible 3D-graphics card from NVIDIA or ATI with 512MB (at least as fast as NVIDIA 8600, 9400 or ATI Radeon HD 2400). Is there such a graphics card available that will work in my Mac Pro?

Are you really still running 10.6.3? you will need 10.6.5+ so do that and make a clone.
ATI 5770 from Apple Store - like 1000s of others have done and in the comments section on the store page.

  • Satellite P100 (PSPA6A) - White screen, freezes then restarts by itself

    Hello,
I have a Toshiba Satellite P100(PSPA6A) and am running Windows XP on it. Over the past month, I have had a problem with my computer where the screen turns white, it then freezes and restarts by itself.
I have taken it to a computer store to get it checked out but they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I have tried to find if any programs are the source of this problem but I have not been able to find any. My computer can be on for 10hrs before this problem occurs and it can be on for about 5mins before this probelm occurs. It can also happen during the windows loading screen before it reaches the welcome screen. If this helps, there is a slight delay from when the screen turns white and when it freezes (I have music playing in the background on several occasions where the music was still playing for a few seconds while the screen was white, and then it froze and restarted).
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi!
Did you already check the RAM by yourself using Memtest86 as Boarder suggested? I mean Memtest86 is really great for testing the RAM and if there is a problem, Memtest86 should find it.
Furthermore I would recommend checking the HDD. Therefore you can use Drive Fitness Test and Google is your friend to find it.
    This program is also freeware.
In worst case you should go to an authorized service provider. Maybe its a problem of the mainboard or CPU and this can be checked from a notebook technician.
    Bye

  • Trouble Nvidia Geforce Gt 610 graphics card in Hp pavilion M7560n

So My intergrated graphics card is failing it started out as blue/tinting then it would pop back to regular color. now it loses video out altogether then recovers after awhile..  I disabled the onboard graphics card.. then inserted GT 610 but it only showed black screen.. the weird part is when the intergrated card goes on its fit then the 610 can take over partically.. its like when the intergrated graphics card completely fails then the computer says oh i had a dedicated card installed lets use it. why is this happening i went into system menu on windows start up and set pcie to default video out.. but it will still bypass the GT 610 and use the onboard graphic eventhough its suppose to be disable.. Help would be greatly appreciated

  • Satellite Pro M30 graphics card not working when driver is installed

    Hi all,
Im having problem with my nvidia Geforce FX Go5200, in a Satellite Pro M30 laptop, (Intel Pentium M processor 1.7 GHz, 512 Ram). This card was working fine suddenly the notebook stops.
I have formatted the notebook and installed Win XP PRO. After installing the VGA driver I restarted the notebook but black screen started coming up right after the Win XP splash screen appears. The notebook continues to start up but no screen.
It starts just fine in safe mode. I get my best screen by simply disabling the geforce card or uninstalling the driver. I tried to install a new driver for the VGA from the Toshiba download site but same problem appears. I have also tried updating BIOS but nothing happens.
    Anyone can help me?
    [email protected]

It is very strange issue. It will be really interesting to know if this happen when you use delivered recovery installations CD.
Anyway I presume there is some problem with LCD display. In safe mode the desktop is shown in lowers resolution but when OS starts the resolution will be adapted for standard one (1280x800) and obviously there is the problem.
I am not technician but I recommend you to contact service partner. As far as I know they use special tools and programs for display tests. They can tell you more.

  • Video Card Upgrade - NVidia GeForce 8600 GT compatible with this PC?

I would like to upgrade my son's graphics card on his computer - an HP Pavilion D4100E with an AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3800+ 2.39 GHz running Windows XP.  Can anyone tell me if the GeForce 8600 GT is compatible?

The new GT240 bridges the gap in performance between 9600gt and 9800gt, adds a couple of new features, and uses significantly less power than the 9800gt and may use less than a 9600gt (due to NVidia moving to a 40nm manufacturing process for that chip.)

    Hi,
The motherboard in your PC has a not so good history.
Open up you PC and do some measuring to make sure that the GTX 550 will fit.  This EVGA is a good model but there aer other brands just as good.  The card is 8.25" in length.  The slot adjacent to the PCI-E x16 slot needs to be vacant.
You will need a bigger power supply.  A 500 watt power supply should be sufficient for the GTX 550.
Look at this Corsair CX500. It's a good quality power supply.
You should open up your PC and measure the physical dimensions of your power supply.  Here is a list of things to consider:
    Specifications
    Total wattage - important
12+ volt amperage rating - important
Modular - not mandatory but I like the flexibility
    Warranty
    i7 and SLI ready
    Efficiency rating
    Cost
Physical size -- standard ATX PSU is 5.5" by 5.9" by 3.4" give or take a few tenths
A single 12+ volt rail is a better choice.
www.newegg.com has lots of PSUs choices.  Corsair, OCZ, Rosewill, Thermaltake.....
How to replace a power supply.
How to replace a video card.
    HP DV9700, t9300, Nvidia 8600, 4GB, Crucial C300 128GB SSD
HP Photosmart Premium C309G, HP Photosmart 6520
    HP Touchpad, HP Chromebook 11
    Custom i7-4770k,Z-87, 8GB, Vertex 3 SSD, Samsung EVO SSD, Corsair HX650,GTX 760
Custom i7-4790k,Z-97, 16GB, Vertex 3 SSD, Plextor M.2 SSD, Samsung EVO SSD, Corsair HX650, GTX 660TI
    Windows 7/8 UEFI/Legacy mode, MBR/GPT
