Satellite P200-1EE - is the Data (E:) drive physically seperate from C:?

Want to format and re-install everything on the laptop as it's playing up during operation. However need to confirm if the drives are actually seperate and not virtual, so I know to backup on an external drive instead of losing everything!

I agree with Barrie. When you use the Toshiba recovery disk, the HDD will be formatted and you will lose your data.
If you use a Microsoft Disk, you can choose on which partition the OS (operating system) should be installed. So must not backup your data.
By the way, I save my data additional on an external HDD.

Im a little bit confused. As far as I know new Toshiba notebooks are by default delivered with two HDD partitions so I dont understand why you can use 232 GB only.
Can you see second partition in Windows Explorer?
Generally speaking you can change partitions and optimize it for your usage but before you change anything create recovery DVD. You know if something goes wrong you can use this disc for OS installation.

Satellite P200-1EE - Hard disk not found if I try to install XP

Hi and I have a problem.
I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite P200-1EE series laptop running (of all things) Vista and nothing but problems ever since so im trying to install XP professional and overwrite Vista.
But whenever I try to install it says "hard disk not found..... unable to access"
I've heard of problems like this before something like a "software block protocol"
Any suggestions?

Well, the reason for this is because you need the SATA drivers before you can install Windows XP. As far as I know your notebook is equipped with an Intel chipset and so you need the Intel Storage Manager. You can integrate the drivers using an external FDD or nLite [www.nliteos.com]. Does Satellite P200-1EE has BT built-in?

This is going to sound like a really stupid question ( coming from someone who used to work in the I.T. industry ) ....
I have seen a lot of mention about '*Bluetooth*' functionality, but *how do i know for certain if my 'lappy' has it*, _*or*_ better still *if it has ever been setup* for it
( I have a *Satellite P200-1EE* - if that makes any difference ) ??

im in I.T is well. unfortunately on the box it shows the blutooth sign... it doesnt have bluetooth capabilities. if you need bluetooth you can get attachable usb sticks which come with the software required to make your computer bluetooth accessable. good luck.

I am BI 7.0 Platform with Support Patch 20.
I need the Log Report for the Data which i am uploading from SAP R/3.
I extract the DATA from R/3 into BI 7.0 DSO where I am mapping the GL Accounts with the FS Item. In the Transformation i have return a routine on the FS Item InfObject . I am checking the Gl code into Z table for the FS Item .
I capture the FS item from the Z table then update this FS item to Infobject FS item.
Now i need to stop the Data upload if i do not find the GL code in the Z table, and generate report for all GL code for which the FS item is not maintained in the Z table.
Please suggest.

Hi.
Add a field that you will use to identify if the GL account of the record was found in the Z table or not. Fx, create ZFOUND with length 1 and no text.
In your routine, when you do the lookup, populate ZFOUND with X when you found a match (sy-subrc = 0) and leave it blank if you don't find a match. Now create a report filtering on ZFOUND = <blank> and output the GL accounts. Those will be the ones not existing in the Z table, but coming in from your transactions.

The data type DEC while downloading from ALV to EXCEL is giving some invalid data .
Ex : In ALV field is the time difference in hours:minutes
if the value is :23 in Excel it will be 22:59 .

Hi Mudit,
One option would be to go as mentioned by Padamja , prefxing the table name to the column name or another would be to use the AS keyoword in your SQL statement.
AS is used to rename the column name when data is being selected from your DB.
So, the query Select ename as empname from emptable will return the data with column name as empname.

Can any one help us regarding How to fecth the Date column(or month column) from the file name specified in the path in a generalized way .
For example :
file name is :subscribers (Cost) Sep13.csv is specified in the below path
E:\Accounting\documents\subscribers (Cost) Sep13.csv
here I need to fetch the "Sep13" as a Date column in the ODI 11g in the generalized way.
Can any one help us in this case as early as possible.

I would suggest using a piece of Jython code for this. Something like this...

filelist = os.listdir(E:\Accounting\documents\)
for file in filelist:
datestr = file[19:-4]
You'd need to work out what to do with datestr next... perhaps write it to a table or update an ODI variable with it.

I have an instance (SQL SERVER 2008 R2) with 30 databases, all are in full recovery mode.
While doing the TLOG backup I found following error in the MSSQL AGENT ERROR LOG.
[LOG] The data portion of event 18265 from MSSQL$SQLSERVER is invalid
While finding the reason I found that only two small databases are causing this error recording in MSSQL AGENT ERROR LOG. I executed a manul Tlog backup for the identifed databases using TSQL and it shows successful backup (please see below output) but
agent error log was dumped with the new entries showing the same error (even agent was not used to execute the job).
Processed 0 pages for database 'XYZ-ae94-41c157aa36a1', file 'XYZ-ae94-41c157aa36a1_log' on file 1.
BACKUP LOG successfully processed 0 pages in 0.227 seconds (0.000 MB/sec).
Processed 10 pages for database 'ABC-ccb8c6d4ef00', file 'ABC-ccb8c6d4ef00_log' on file 1.
BACKUP LOG successfully processed 10 pages in 0.102 seconds (0.727 MB/sec).
Please assist with your experience for such scanario.

18265 = Log was backed up. Database: %s, creation date(time): %s(%s), first LSN: %s, last LSN: %s, number of dump devices: %d, device information: (%s). This is an informational message only. No user action is required.
Those lengths are a bit excessive, but certainly within the permitted realms. Are there any other database names that are these long? Are there any special characters in the names?

Satellite P200-1EE - Can I get a Blu-Ray drive for it?

At last, Toshiba have joined the BDA!!!!!!
Does any one know if or when they will release a Blu-Ray drive to replace the HD-DVD drives in a P200-1EE?
I know this post may be little premature but I have felt betrayed ever since buying the laptop and 3 weeks later Toshiba dropping the HD-DVD format.

I dont know when Toshiba will release a Bluray drive that you can buy to exchange it with your HD-DVD drive.
But maybe a drive from another manufacture will also work on your notebook. In your case I would go to the nearest computer shop and ask for such a drive. Maybe you can test it in the shop if it works because not all drives are compatible with all notebooks (e. g. pin assignment).

Sound and graphics drivers for Satellite P200-1EE and Windows XP

Hello all,
I just bought a new Sattelite P200-1EE. I had it downgraded to Windows XP Service Pack 2. from Vista.
I have two problems:
1. I cannot find the graphics driver for the ATI Radeon Mobility HD2600 for Windows XP. When I hit the link,
I get an "could not connect to remote server".
2. I cannot get the sound driver to work. In fact, I can't even see the sound card. Ishel there something else I need to install?

Regarding the point;
1) It looks like a driver server issue possibly the guys maintain the server. I would recommend checking this in next few days.
2) First of all you have to update the XP to the latest state. All available MS hotfixes for XP must be installed. Very important are these patches; KB888111 and KB835221. You have to install these patches before the sound driver installation.

Satellite P200-1EE: HD-DVD issue: Unable to output video to external device

I know this subject has been brought up before but after searching the web on and off for months now I still can't find a solution that works for me.
The problem occurs when trying to use the Toshiba HD-DVD Player to play HD-DVD discs. The program starts but after reading the disc it displays the message +"Unable to output the video to an external device. Please check the external output setting after ending the application."+ and will not play the movie. I'm not sure when this problem first started happening as I went a couple of months without using the HD-DVD feature but I know my laptop was capable of playing the DVD's on both the laptop's display and through the HDMI cable when I first got it just under a year ago.
Toshiba's website mentions this problem and suggests updating the Realtek Audio drivers but I've updated several times now and there has been no change. I've also updated the HD-DVD Player software, also to no avail. The problem is the same regardless of how I try to output the video and occurs on any HD-DVD disc.
I've read that PowerDVD may be a better choice for playing HD-DVD's but I'm rather reluctant to spend the money when it might not work so unless someone can guarantee this as a solution I don't think I'll be trying it.
If anyone could suggest a solution that I haven't yet tried I'd be very grateful.

Temperature queston about Satellite P200-1EE

While running Opera browser and Cyberlink Powed DVD the CPU core temperature reaches 70*C often. Temperature noted via RightMark.
The CPU load is usualy varying between 14-25% and utilising 55% of the physical memory at this time.
Although when left idle (AntiVir/Firewall/AntiSpy.......running) the laptop settles at 50*C, with 10% CPU load and 48% physical memory.
Is it normal, or is it worth while investing in a notebook cooler?

the problem with that rightmark and PcTest and blablabla-tools is, that the temperatures are displayed too high and are not telling reliable whats going inside of your machine.
The point is that notebooks have different types of hear sensors installed, which are mostly not known by such apps like rightmark or SysCo (whatever).
If you really want to know which temp. is inside your machine, then buy an temp. sensor and measure the temp of the air which is blown out from the ventilation holes. If your CPU would have 70 degree then your machine would be REALLY REALLY hot and you wouldnt be able to work with it.
So, no need to investigate money into an notebook cooler.

1.I am trying to save the RSA (SRM extractor) to excel spread sheet to compare SRM data with BI data. When i run the the transaction RSA3 it just showed me 10 different data packets. How to export the data to excel spread sheet for reconciliation?
2. Does any body know if the stepup tables exist for SRM extractors?

Hello Sharat,
You have two options of saving data to excel sheet:
Step 1:
Goto RSA3, change the "Data Records / Calls" to 1000 and then execute. This way instead of 10 different packets you will get one packet.
Step2:
Click on the list button, open the packet by double clicking it. You will see all the data on your screen.
Step3:
Goto System -> List -> Save - > Local File -> Spreadsheet and give some name for your xls file.
Assign points if helpful.
