Satellite P200D-11L - VGA Board is dead

Hello,
My VGA board on my Satellite P200D just died. It has been overheating for a while with several sudden shut downs but I have got the final one. This model has very bad cooling, the design was very underestimated. I thought there was dirt inside but when I took it apart there were none. It was clean. The cooling paste was gone but clean.
Does anybody know what video card is compatible with my laptop and where can I get a cheap replacement ?
My laptop serial number : Satellite P200D-11L, S/N: 97397677K
My VGA board details : VGA BOARD M76 256 S/N: K000056620
Thanks for any help.

Hi,
I am sure that for this model there are several option in terms of vga card but I do not know where I can get this info.
How do you use your laptop ? what application are you running? are you gaming ?
I played games occasionally but the problems with the heating was even on the start up, the fan was spinig like mad all time with no application running, just windows. A friend of mine have this laptop and he got his vga card already replaced, we bought them at the same time. I also searched thru web and found many discussion about this laptpos cooling, and it really has this kind of problem.
I took the laptop apart and removed vga card, it is a separate piece, you do not have to change whole mainboard. That was also one of the reasons I bought this laptop.
I tried ebay but I am not willing to pay 250 USD for a vga card.

  • Re: Satellite P200D-11L: How to install the Windows XP

I've got a Satellite P200D-11L notebook for about 5 months and it has preinstalled windows Vista.
    I just can't stand them.
They crash every 5 minutes and they consume all my resources for no reason!!!
I can't run any program for my work that i used to run on XP with no problem because of incompatibility.
I just discovered that i can't play any games due to incompatibility reasons too.
I can only play games that are very new and of course those games don't play well due to lack of resources.
I am desperate. I tried loading XP on it but it just shuts down when I boot from XP cd an won't open again.
I need to install XP urgently but i dont know how.
Please give me some steps or some links so i can get rid of this bad software called vista.
    HELP!

    Hi
I think I know what you problem could be.
First of all you have to ensure that you Win XP CD contain the SP2.
I know about different problems which could appear during the XP installation if an SP2 was not included. If you XP CD has not SP2 then use the nLite program to built your own XP CD with SP2.
Furthermore your P200 supports the SATA controller and you will have to install (include) the SATA driver firstly.
This is not very difficult. You need the Intel Matrix Storage Manger.
During the XP setup press F6 and then you could include the SATA driver from the USB FDD drive. Search in this forum for details. There are a lot useful threads.
This Storage Manger can be downloaded from the Intel website or from the Toshiba European driver website.
Unfortunately the XP drivers for Sat P200D are not available on the Toshiba page at this time and I think you should try some drivers from the different P200 series.
    Bye

I 've got notebook Satellite P200D-11L
Is it safe to use Vista SP1?

  • Satellite P200D and Vista x64 drivers

    Hello,
I recently added to my satellite P200D-11L 4gb of ram.
Because the 32bit OS doesn't recognise 4gb of ram i decided to switch to 64-bit hoping that Toshiba promotes Vista and of course the spread of 64 bit systems.
I am very dissapointed that i cant install toshiba value added package and for that reason a lot of my laptops fuctions are not available. In addition to that my laptop crashes if i put it to sleep.
I searched the forum and i found out that Bios is responsible for the value added package and that Bios is the reason of the error message i get every time.
I tried to update my Bios only to find out that its not yet updated by Toshiba to support the 64 bit VAP.
My point is: are they going to make it work at last? They just promise stuff before you buy but support of software stops after a few months of laptop release. Especially for the P220D series.
    Does anyone know anything?
    help please.

    You want a detailed instruction?
As I said the 32bit VAP must be installed.
Then go to the installed VAP folder, replace the old 32bit dll file with this new downloaded 64bit dll file and enjoy!
    The 64bit VAP contains 3 files; tvalz_o.cat, TVALZ_O.INF and TVALZ_O.sys.
Copy these files into the same place where the 32bit files are placed!!
By the way; You have installed Vista Ultimate version. I remember that sometimes Ultimate Vista is not fully compatible with some Toshiba tools; i.e VAP

  • Satellite P200D-127 - Where can I get a new mainboard?

    Hi,
I have a Satellite P200D-127 (Part Number : PSPBLE-02100LEN) which has a knackered motherboard. I have a blank screen when I turn on the laptop. All of the lights come on and I can hear the hard drive whizzing into life but nothing on the screen. I have tried pretty much everything I can think of:
External Power Supply tested - No problems
HDD removed and tested - No problems
HDD readability tested - Data backed up
Screen tested - VGA screen attached to laptop. Still no image
Motherboard cables/connectors/memory etc tested for component creep - all items reseated
So...Any idea where I can get a replacement motherboard for this laptop? I have 'Googled' Satellite P200D-127 Replacement Motherboard (and variations of!) and I don't seem to be able to find anything.
    Cheers
    Glenn

    Hi buddy,
I think this is pretty easy: Just contact an authorized service provider in your country and ask for a replacement mainboard. They can order all original Toshiba spare parts and can also exchange the mainboard for you.
Here you can search for an ASP:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Find an authorized service provider
    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite P200D - Value Added Package error on Windows 7 64bit

    Satellite P200D-12F (PSPBQE) and Windows 7 64bit
    TVAP ERROR!
I cant find any solution to this problem on the whole internet. can someone please contact Toshiba providers about this because this is really silly?
    Noone wanna answer me!
    PLZ!
    help

    > this has to be fixed. i just dont understand the Toshiba people. Why dont they TEST the drivers before they upload them for the rest of the world?
The Win 7 VAP 1.2.28 which you can download for P200D is the same package for all other notebook series and its working because Ive installed it on my U400 and A210 notebook series so its NOT VAP issue.
It must be your Win 7 installation issue
First of all check if your BIOS is up to date.
    If not then update it.
The VAP must be unzipped firstly before you would start the installation
I did it many times and if worked!
If nothing will solve your issue then you should renew your Win 7 insatllation.

  • Re: CD drive not working - Satellite P200D

I've recently bought a Satellite P200D-137 and I am having problems with playing CDs/DVDs. It says it cannot find the drive. I'm a complete novice with computers. Is there anyway I can get the drive working again? Thanks.

  • Need windows 7 32 bit for Satellite R630-11L

Can anyone help me to locate Windows 7 32bit drivers for Satellite R630-11L,
    I found only for windows 7 64bit

    Hi
I didnt find a full range of Win 7 32bit drivers for Satellite R630 on the Toshiba European driver page as you said, just 64bit drivers are available.
You can try to install 64bit drivers on Win 32bit system. In many cases this should be possible.
In cases where this is not possible, try the drivers from other satellite series
    Its worth a try
But why you want to switch to 32bit? 64bit OS is better if your notebook supports 4GB RAM or more

  • Where can I get drivers for Satellite P200D-106?

    Dear Gentlemen,
Almost 2 years ago I've buyed a Toshiba Satellite P200D-106 (AMD Turion 64 X2 - TL-52) with Windows Vista preinstalled. I was not very happy that you didn't provide XP drivers for this product, but now I'm very surprised to find out that I can't even find the drivers for Vista. _As a matter of fact, this model (P200D-106) is not found inside your website, not even my serial number. More, your software also don't recognize my laptop._
Please contact me and tell me where can I find these drivers since I lost all my installation CDs. It will be very good if you can provide me drivers for Windows 7, also.
Please note that I'm extremelly unsatisfied about your non-existing online support for my model, since the laptop is not older than 2 years and I've payed for it almost 1.000 EUR.
    Model name: Satellite P200D-106
    Model no.: PSPBLE-00200QG3
    Serial no: 97365091K
    Regards,
    Victor

    Hi buddy,
To be honest I cant agree with you. I have even checked the Toshiba website for drivers and tools on Satellite P200D and this was successful. The page shows drivers for Vista 32/64bit and also some for Windows 7 32/64bit. I think you should check the Toshiba page again:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
By the way: A new recovery disk you can order from Toshiba directly: https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
If you have more questions, please let us know!

Hi. I have a Satellite P200D-128 and I've been getting a pop-up screen with an error message saying, "Catalyst Control Centre host application stopped working." I'm sure I haven't altered anything.
I tried downloading new drivers from http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx but the download wouldn't work.

  • Second HDD for Satellite P200D possible?

Hi, got a Satellite P200D which I've been very happy with, but need more space - is it possible to either fit a larger primary drive (curently around 200GB) or a secondary drive in the spare bay. If secondary drive is viable option, what leads, connectors, mounts etc do I need?
    Thanks in advance

If you dontt have such a connector, you cant install a second HDD. Furthermore you cant buy such a SATA connector because they are fixed/soldered on mainboard.
So your only option is exchanging the HDD with another model. As I wrote you can take a 500GB model. It must be a 2.5 HDD with SATA interface.
I can recommend a Western Digital Caviar Blue series. Thats a good compromise between performance and noise.
But of course, Toshiba HDDs will work too. ;)

  • Satellite P200D-134 - can not use the Toshiba DVD player

I have the Satellite P200D-134 and can not use the Toshiba DVD player.
    It displays an error message.
"Required modules missing for this application"
In Vista it worked everything fine.
Now I upgraded Windows 7 Ultimate and all Toshiba programs are gone.
And I can not use the Software HD DVD player or other Software from Toshiba.
    What should I do?
Does anyone have any advice? Is there any help?
Please write back in German or English.
    Thank you!
    Rob

    Hi
Did you install the VAP (value added package)?
    If not do that!!!
Furthermore I recommend installing the DVD Player Update Check Tool which can be found on the Toshiba European driver page.
With this tool, you can check your notebook, if your DVD-Player needs a Upgrade and if yes, it gives you the download link for the needed upgrade version.
By the way: If you cannot find the DVD Player for Win 7 in P200D section then you can download this from the P500 section!

  • PCTV (DVB-T) not working on Satellite P200D

I've installed Pinnacle PCTV on my computer. Although I can pick up radio channels I've got no TV channels. I've checked Device Manager and everything seems ok.
There's only a mini antenna but thought I should be able to get at least a few channels. Can anyone help? Thanks.

    Hello avensis
Sorry but I think it has nothing to do with Toshiba. If you use third part hardware or software you cannot expect support from notebook manufacturer. In my opinion you should contact Pinnacle and ask for help. They should have enough experience with own product.
Just for example: I have Satellite P200D-111 and DVB-T USB tuner PX1211E-1TVD. I have installed the driver and software for watching TV. In my region I can see 10 channels only but everything work well.
As I wrote before, try to ask for help by Pinnacle.

  • What is a difference between the Satellite P200D-12O and P200-1I6

I'm probably buying one of the Toshiba Satellite P200(D) laptops, probably P200D 12O or P200 1I6.
I'm unsuccessfully, trying to find out what is the rpm of the disks on those models. On Toshiba page there are two 'Satellite P200(D) product flyer' where some models are specified, declaring 4200 rpm, but not all models are specified, none of the two I am interested in.
Then again, if I go downloading the manuals, after I select Model, for example, P200D, I have two options: PSPBQE and PSPBLE. Under products, when viewing the models of P200D, there are three models, whose part numbers all start with PSPBQE and none with PSPBLE.
Some web shops specify the 5400 rpm for disks of some of the P200(D) models.
Can somebody explain to me this model labelling and tell me (where to find) the rpm of the disks for two models mentioned in the beginning?
These Toshiba pages are not very consistent, I must say.
Another question: Can somebody give me any info on difference in performance between P200D-12O and P200-1I6?
Thank you for your possible answers, David.

Got the computer, it has 5400 rpm disk. But I did not know what I was buying, and I didn't like it.
There were some problems with warranty, the web shop had 2 years warranty, but on all toshiba pages the warranty period is stated to be 1 year. After online registration I now have almost 2 years guarantee. This online warranty specifation is probably not very legal by the laws of my country, since every piece of technical equipment must have a warranty paper specifying the start and length of guarantee period.
I have same or similar problems as Georg123 is mentioning in his 'Sporadically display flickering after BIOS update - Satellite P200D', which I will comment there.
Otherwise the computer is very good, maybe the display is not the best and I really don't like Vista. What was wrong with XP? Don't answer that :)
