Satellite P200D-12o - subwoofer does not work

Recently I bought Satellite P200D-12o. Subwoofer does not work. It seems that the notebook does not see it.
Please, tell me what have I to do!

Hi guys
I think the issue is related only to the wrong sound settings.
In the product flyer is something mentioned with Toshiba Bass Enhanced Sound System with Dolby Home Theater.
This is a sound feature enables the Dolby virtual speaker.
In my opinion you should check if this feature was enabled.
To enable the Dolby Home Theater do the following:
Go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound
Mark the Speaker -> Properties -> Choose the Dolby tab and check the "Dolby Home Theater".
Unusually this should helps!
PS:
There are different notebooks models and not all are equipped with a subwoofer.
In my knowledge there is an speaker at the bottom of the unit but *this third speaker indicates only the BIOS beeps. Its not a subwoofer!!!*
Bye

My laptop Toshiba Satellite L300 PSLB8C-0H901X, does not work, no power, no POST, nothing, Get power and charge lamp when pluged in nothing else, any known issues? Any fixes, Thanks in advance for your help.

Hmm sounds like a serious hardware issue.
If you are a lucky man the issue could be related to RAM module.
The RAM modules can be replaced easily. The memory bay is placed at the bottom of the unit secured by one screw.
But the question is if its really related to RAM.
Well, you will know this if you would replace/check this
Otherwise I recommend asking an professional notebook technician for a help

  • Satellite U400 - the webcam does not work anymore

Hello guys here is my sudden probloema!
About a year ago I purchased a laptop
    TOSHIBA - Satellite U400
with s.o. WinVista 32bit and with integrated webcam chicony etc. ....
For a year, everything worked correctly, but for some days now, the webcam does not work anymore.
As soon as I try to open it, a message of management software cam that says "Webcam driver open fail, please restart or computer room"
I tried to do it all: aggioronato and downloaded the drivers from toshiba, uninstalled the program and re installed the webcam ....! updated bios notebook ....! useless!
the strange thing .. well that going into device manager ... the webcam is not there ....! but if the launch seems to open just then check quell caz ... Warning!!
    Gan you help me?
    Graziee

Are you familiar and comfortable with LINUX LIVE bootable discs to load an alternative operating system with unobtrusive but extensive Toshiba device support so you can determine if your webcam hardware is ruined or if the problem is software and possibly solved reinstalling Windows ?
At this point, you're pondering less time consuming but more expensive choices such as buying another web cam, or another computer and you might be temporarily borrowing someone else's web cam / using a non preferred spare web cam that isn't optimal for your needs.
Continuously downloading software, registry cleaners, and repeatedly reinstalling drivers will eventually ruin your Windows installation and consume more time than you've wasted so far and still doesn't guarantee to fix your malfunction.

  • After Recovery with CD Satellite C660-1FE keyboard does NOT work

    Hello,
A month ago I purchased a Toshiba C660-1FE. After three weeks my HD broke down. I bought a new HD from Western Digital and replaced the broken HD. As I did not make an recovery image of my HD, I had to order the Product recovery discs off the Toshiba website (3 discs, of which disc 1 and 3 were the only one's required for installation).
Now, I have the problem that my laptop keyboard does not work. I am currently using a USB keyboard and mouse to replace my keyboard and touchpad of the laptop.
The laptop keyboard works fine in BIOS. Therefore, I hope it's just a driver problem.
    I have:
tried finding and installing lots of drivers on from the toshiba website, no result.
tried changing settings in the bios (usb enable/disable).
tried to fix the problem by re-installing the entire computer again several times.
The keyboard seems to work until windows loads. When the system is starting up I can press caps lock and num lock and the green lights come on. This all stops working once the windows startup symbol appears.
Perhaps a second problem in the device manager: under the display-adapter, 2 subcategories have exclamation marks: it says Mobile Intel(R) 4 series express chipset family twice! I can't seems to fix these with any drivers I can find either. When I check the settings I have this message (google translate since it was in dutch):
+The digital signature for the drivers for this device is required, can not be verified. Possible after a recent hardware or software change a file that is installed incorrectly signed or damaged, or is malicious software installed from an unknown source. (Code 52)+
+You need to restart the computer to this device changes to take effect.+ (obviously I tried that too)
Can someone please give me some help? I am at the end of my wits.
    Sincerely,
    Daniel

    Hi MisterX,
thank you for your response. I have tried these things and there is no such thing as PS2/keyboard in device manager. It's as if the Hardware is not even recognizable in windows. I am starting to doubt whether I got the right Backup CD.
I wrote the following e-mail to [email protected]:
    +Dear Toshiba,+
+after receiving the recovery CD's for my toshiba c660-1FE, it turns out that the drivers for the keyboard and touchpad are not installed. I have tried many things to get around this but it seems to me that I have received the wrong product recovery CD's. The chipset drivers are not the right ones, the overall layout of this version of windows 7 is different from before and when looking for answers in the toshiba forum I have concluded that the recovery CD's could be the wrong ones.+
    +My laptop: Satellite C660-1FE+
    +serial: 5B378048K+
    +Part-nr: PSC0LE 02M0TU26DU+
    +Recovery CD's I received are CD's 1-3 with serial R14254DU+
+Would you be so kind to check whether these CD's should be 100% compatible with my laptop?+
    +This would be greatly appreciated,+
    +Daniel+
MisterX, do you know any other emails I can forward this too? Or anyone who could perhaps tell me if I got the right CD's? They are taking their time to respong to this...
    Kind regards,
    Daniel

  • Satellite A110-228 LAN does not work after hibernate

Well, subject says it all, really. The LAN (wired) network does not work after hibernate.
It seems it cannot find the DHCP server, so after a while it gets a 169.* address.
After a reboot, the network functions as usual (gets a IP address from the DHCP server)
Tried the usual things, disconnecting the cable, disabling the LAN device, battery or AC adapter, the behavior is reproducible.
The wireless network will be restored after a hibernate.
It needs a little help though (right click on the icon and "recover" or whatever it is called in English)
    Any suggestions?
    Wilm Boerhout

    Hi guys
In the Toshiba HW setup which is placed in the control panel the options Wake-up on LAN and Built-in LAN should be enabled.
I think the options are disabled by default.
Furthermore the default setting for Wake on Settings is OS controlled. To use the Wake-up on LAN function under power off mode, in the device driver for the network card under the menu point Wake On Settings the Value Wake on Magic & Directed must be set.
Please check this how to enable WOL (first time use):
    1. Go to [Start] -> [Control Panel] -> [Toshiba HWSetup] -> [LAN] tab
    2. Enable Wake-up on LAN
    3. Click [Apply]. System will request to reboot.
    4. After the reboot go to [Start] -> [Control Panel] -> select [System]
    5. On system properties dialog box select [Hardware] tab -> click [Device manager]
    6. On Device manager dialog box select [Networking adapters] -> double click [Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection]
    7. Go to [Advanced] tab -> select [Wake On Settings] property -> Select [Wake on Magic & Directed]
    8. Press [OK] to close the dialog box.

  • Satellite M70-181: Wlan does not work

    Hello,
I am in New Zealand at the moment and a couple of weeks ago I changed my bios password but forgot it. To solve that problem I send the laptop to Toshiba in Christchurch and they reseted it for me. But since that day my wireless does not work. When I turn it on not even the light goes on. It's not shown in any of the normal places (as in the network enviroment or how ever you call it).
Could it be any problem with the hardware and is it easy to fix by myself cause I don't have the time to wait till they do it in Christchurch again.
    Thanks for any answers

They might have damaged wifi card antenna inside you computer. If you have technical skills you could fix it by yourself, but if you don't just send the laptop back, and let them check it again.

  • Satellite A30 - CD-ROM does not work properly

My CD ROM does not work properly because of corrupted drivers. I have tried uninstalling etc. How do you load new drivers or even reformat from the recovery disc when the CD ROM drive won't work?
Seems like catch 22. Anyone help?

If it is really a problem with the drivers for your CD-Rom, you can recover it.
Because you need to boot your Notebook with the Recovery CD/DVD.
This has nothing to do with missing drivers in the Windows Operating System.
And if you can not boot with the Recovery Disc, I would say your Disc drive is broken.

  • Satellite P300-19F DVD does not work

I have a Satellite P300-19F with Win Vista 32 bits Home Premium SP2.
I am unable to read any DVD. It does not show a corresponding drive letter.
If I go to the device manager under Control Panel - System, it recognizes a Pioneer DVD-RW DVRTD08A, but has a warning sign on it. It says that configuration is damaged.
I uninstalled it and reinstalled without any success.
I downloaded the drivers from Toshiba and did not solved either.
What can I do to solve the problem?
    Thanks.

    Hi resteves_1,
I had a similar problem with my CD/DVD drive. There was an error code in device manager on ODD so I followed the instructions on the Microsoft Knowledge Base to remove the upper- and lowerfilters in registry and after that the problem was solved! :)
I would recommend this too. After this your drive should work again properly!!!

  • Satellite X200: WLan driver does not work using WXP

    Hi
I'm trying to get the WIFI working under XP on my Satellite X200. I've downloaded these "wlan-intel-1244-7147" drivers but still no luck, also after installing these drivers I get an error when I shut down saying 'Sample program not responding'.
This is a complete clean XP install, I gave up with Vista.

    Hi,
if the intel drivers did not worked then try the atheros drivers which should then definetly work.
    Cheers

  • Satellite P30: Power Saving does not work properly

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite P30 (with Windows XP) and I'm having problems with my Power Saving mode. When I use it for games and other high power applications it gets really hot on the edge of the moitor and shuts down.
It is been doing this for the last month or so. Before that there was absolutelly no problem. I've checked the TPSTrace file and got this error message:
A Fatal error has occurred. This program will be terminated. code: 0x0 Location:MainFrm.cpp(1317)
I don not know what to do with it and how to solve the problem. Any ideas?

    Hi Thomas
It is not easy to give you any precise diagnostic but in my opinion your notebook is not hot because of power saver. Satellite P30 is pretty old notebook and maybe you should clean up your notebook.
    Have you done this before?
This error seems to be serious and what you can do is to remove preinstalled power saver and after restart try to install it again.
Just for info: power saver tool is very useful but definitely not so important and your system can work well without it. Because of that I presume hot notebook is because of dust inside. With more CPU and graphic card activity hardware will be hot and it must be cooled properly. If the cooling grill is not clean this can not happen. at the beginning notebook will be hot but one day it will probably switch off without any warning.
At first step try to clean your notebook and remove all dust under cooling grill.

  • Satellite L300 - VGA output does not work

I am attempting to set up a media center via my Toshiba L300 laptop by connecting it to my VIZIO 37" LCD via the VGA (RGB) port to the component in the TV.
I connected it all up, but the TV consistantly says "no signal".
Is there something that I am not doing properly?
The control panel also says there is only one monitor installed on the laptop and I am told that there is supposed to be two installed as the TV serves as one of them.
Can someone shed some light on this for me?

I did however get it to work properly via a VGA (RGB) cable directly to the back of the TV. There is an input jack in the back of the television and it's working properly that way. I'd still like to use the component cables though if possible due to rendering better quality. Thanks again.

  • Satellite A100 bios update does not work correctly

    Hi,
I have a Satellite A100-153 PSAA9E and using Vista OS.
How do I install the new bios?? I run the .exe and nothing happens it shows that it extracts some files and then a notepad text appears that says something like this.
    ' INVENEC Pre-Flash Script for SanAntonio10
    ' 09/26/2006 Version 1.0.0.3
    On Error Resume Next
    '=== Declare Variables & Objects
    Dim WshObj, objArgs
    Dim WMIObj, chipset
    Dim InfoStr, WorkPath
    Dim VideoType
    Dim fso, oFile etc....
and then an error appears that says if the SanAntonion10 BIOS590MP.exe is installed correct.
    pls help

Hm, sounds a little bit weird. I would suggest you to do the following:
go to the drivers download page
    -> http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
Download the latest common modules if available and RE-download the BIOS update.
Then try it again. If this doesnt help then perform a full system recovery, download the BIOS update and then it MUST work.

  • Satellite M70-394: WLan does not work after wake up from standby

    Hi all....
I have a problem with my WLan connection and hope one of you may be able to help. Starting my computer from off there isn't a problem with the WIFI connection but if I put the computer into standby by closing the lid and then restarting it from there the light comes on briefly for wi fi but then goes off and the only way I can connect is through a cable.
Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

    Hi
I have read in the forum that some similar "Wlan standby" issues were fixed by BIOS update.
I think you should compare the BIOS version on the notebook with the BIOS which is available on the website. If there is a new update try to upgrade it
Be sure that you have chosen the right BIOS.

  • Satellite Pro M30 Win 7 - webcam does not work on msn messenger

    Hi all
I have a Satellite Pro M30 Modell Nr.: PSM35E and have just changed to Windows 7. But the Nvidia Card NVIDIA GeForceTM FX Go5200 Grafik mit 64 MB RAM does not work properly.
I could find a driver from Vista and installed it, have Aero pics on the desktop, but my webcam does not work on msn messenger and this is the only way for me to see my family.
    Can someone help me?
    Thanks for your help

    Hi
Im a little bit confused; do you have some problems with the graphic card or with the webcam?
I assume you are speaking about external webcam connected to the USB port? Right?
What happens if you connect the webcam to the notebook? Can Win 7 recognize the connected device? Did you install additional drivers for this webcam?
In most cases its necessary to do that because I think its not plug & play device.

  • Satellite Pro L20-212 - USB2.0 does not work

    Hi,
I own a *Satellite Pro L20-212*, *Windows XP (SP2) is installed, but USB2.0 does not work*. I can't see anything about USB2.0 in the Devicemanager and the speed of the attached USB2.0 devices is at the USB1.1 level.
I don't know which information is needed to help me out with this problem because it should normally work on my notebook (and I know that the notebook has USB2.0 ports).
Do I have to install a special driver in order to use USB2.0 or is there any software on my notebook which I have to enable?
    Thank you very much,
    Frank

    Hi
+Fact is that the notebooks hardware is ok and it seems that you only need to install some MS updates and maybe a chipset driver.+
    True.
+But lets begin with the basics? as I??m not mistaken; the Satellite Pro L20 belongs to the PSL2YE. Therefore you have to choose this series number if you download the drivers.+
    That's what I did.
+On the Toshiba European driver page you will find the Intel Chip Set Utility. Please install it firstly. Do you have an ATI card? If yes install the graphic driver from the Toshiba page because this driver contains the chipset driver for the units with ATI graphic card!!!+
I have an ATI card and I installed the driver from the Toshiba page which includes the chipset driver. That's the first driver I installed on my notebook.
+Secondly you will find the Quick Fix Engineering on the Toshiba page. These are the MS updates which must be installed!!!+
Every single update of Microsoft for Windows XP is installed, so this shouldn't be the problem
+Then the USB ports should be correctly recognized in the device manager and should work.+
USB is recognized, but not as USB 2.0 :-(
+By the way; you should test the USB ports with different external USB devices to ensure that it??s not a USB device malfunction?+
I did that, too. And I used the same decives on Ubuntu to test the USB 2.0 function. And everything worked perfectly.
That's tricky. I don't have the slightest idea what I can do now. The hardware works, the drivers are correct, but it still doesn't work. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR
But thank you very much Gipsyman!
