help

> this has to be fixed. i just dont understand the Toshiba people. Why dont they TEST the drivers before they upload them for the rest of the world?
The Win 7 VAP 1.2.28 which you can download for P200D is the same package for all other notebook series and its working because Ive installed it on my U400 and A210 notebook series so its NOT VAP issue.
It must be your Win 7 installation issue
First of all check if your BIOS is up to date.
If not then update it.
The VAP must be unzipped firstly before you would start the installation
I did it many times and if worked!
If nothing will solve your issue then you should renew your Win 7 insatllation.

I have got Toshiba Satellite P300 PSPCCA running windows vista ultimate 64x. I can not get my soft touch button working. I downloaded latetest TVA Package and installed it. After installation it asks for restart but I dont restart my laptop and I just perform Restart Flash Card and my soft touch button works all good which is mute, media player, etc. but once I restart my laptop it stops working.
I have tryed uninstalling and reinstalling software but no luck. I have read in toshiba forum about running CCleaner and do fresh installation but still have same problem.
Does any of you know how to fix it.
BTW i have got AVG internet security software on my system but have have added toshiba folder to exclude from realtime scanning just in case if its causing problem but no luck. I have searched qurantine folder and its nothing in there.
Please help me to get my soft touch button working.

    Hello Jay
I agree with Akuma. All you can do is to remove preinstalled VAP from the system and install latest version again. Why you didnt follow instruction to restart notebook after VAP installation?
I have installed VAP several times on my Satellite P200 and Satellite A300 without any problems but after latest version installation I have restarted notebook immediately. The installations procedure was finished and needed processes started in the background. I presume this is the problem on your Satellite P300.
If nothing helps the last step is to install OS again using recovery installations DVD. After doing this you will have clean preinstalled OS and everything will work well again.

I HAVE A SOLUTION THAT WORKED FOR ME.
When u download the file - extract and open it - MAKE SURE U SAVE IT TO THE DESKTOP (Change it by opening Browser)
Then open the file TVAP > click on Setup. Be sure not to open twice or it will not work!
If it works 4 U please tell others.

  • Satellite Pro L300 PSLB1E - How to install the Value added package?

    Hi there
I have tried updating the value added package on my machine I followed the instructions and removed my previous version and even cleaning the pc with ccleaner and running tune up utilites 2009 but every time i go to install the new value added package i get the same message remove previous version first in the add and remove programmes list.
I have removed this checked and double checked in add and remove and it is no where to be found but still no success installing the new software.
Can anyone help me resolve this matter?
    Thanks

    Hay
Have you restarted your notebook after removing VAP from the system?
I have updated VAP on several notebooks and have never noticed something like this.
After removing VAP from the system new version was always installed properly.
I can imagine something is still in registry.
You can check it and try to remove manually.
Search all entries for Toshiba Value and remove it.
If this will not work all you can do is to install OS again using recovery image. After clean installation remove VAP again, restart your notebook and install latest version.

  • Toshiba Value Added Package fails to install - ID ERR NOTINSTALLTVALZ MESSAGE

    Hi there,
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade on my Satellite A100 and the Value Added Package will not install. It gets toward the end of installing and then produces the error "ID_ERR_NOTINSTALLTVALZ_MESSAGE".
Could someone please help me... I don't have any idea why it is doing this.
    Cheers.

    Hi
I remembered this theme was already discussed here in the forum.
I searched a little bit and found this thread:
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=20471&messageID=75256
There you can find the same case and the solution!!
The issue was solved by BIOS update.
But be careful; the BIOS update is risky. Be sure that you use the right BIOS and right update procedure!!!

  • Tecra A8 PTA83E - Value Added Package installation

    Tosiba Tecra A8 PTA83E
    Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate X64
I've been unable to install the Toshiba Value Added Pack (vap-vista-1011btn-en) or any version before it. I have spoke to Tosh tech support on numerous occasions and they always promise Customer Support will respond to the query, they never do.
Toward the end of the installation, whilst it is running the "Computing space requirements" process an error dialogue box pops containing "ID_ERR_NOTINSTALLVALZ_MESSAGE". The only option available is "ok" and when this is selected the install rolls back and the finish screen says "The wizard was interrupted before TOSHIBA Value Added Package could be completely installed".
I am, as I am sure you can understand, VERY frustrated with this problem. I purchased (the very expensive) Vista Ultimate as Toshiba claim this Laptop is Vista ready, and it may well be, but the drivers and software provided are not. I am also having problems with:
    Bluetooth
    Config Free Utility
    WinBIOS updater
    Sound Driver
    Graphics Driver
I will save these problems for another thread as I would like to deal with these problems one at a time.
Thanks in advance for any help given/offered.

    Hi
You are running the 64bit version of Vista???
Im not very surprised that you are not able to install the Toshiba Vista Value Added Package.
All the drivers, tools and utilities are designed for Vista 32bit version!!
In my knowledge the 32bit drivers dont run on the 64bit Vista OS!
    Regarding the ID ERR NOTINSTALLVALZ MESSAGE error message;
It seems the BIOS update could solve this issue.
This was reported in different threads here in the Toshiba forum!!!
    For example:

  • Re: Qosmio F50-12J - FN key not working with new Value Added Package

    Hi,
I have Toshiba Qosmio F50-12J and have trouble with Value Added Package v 1.2.28.
I can't get the flash cards to work. When I press FN key nothing happens. BTW, I installed VAP on freshly installed Windows 7 64 bit. With the previuos version of VAP that I tried on Windows 7, KeNotify.exe was crashing. Now there is no apparent crash, but nothing happens.
Also, there is a problem with the Button Support utility (touch sensitive controls). Whenever I reboot my system, all the white illumiation LEDs on my laptop are lit although I turned them off.
So, could someone confirm that they have a working Value Added Package v 1.2.28 on Windows 7 64bit ?

    Hi buddy,
Your posting is a little bit confusing and in my opinion you make something wrong. My Qosmio F50 runs pretty good on Windows 7 and I dont have any problems with the FN keys, illumination buttons or other function.
First of all make sure that all drivers are installed!!! I mean chipset, graphic, sound, etc. Check the device manager and if you can find unknown devices or yellow exclamation marks download the missing drivers on the Toshiba page.
The Button Support Utility has nothing to do with Flash Cards support utility. So before you make something wrong, please uninstall Toshiba Value Added Package and Flash Card Supports Utility. Restart the notebook after uninstallation and clean the registry using CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/). If you have clean the registry, restart the notebook again.
Now you should install newest Toshiba Value Added Package. Restart again.
Install Flash Cards Support Utility for Vista. Restart again.
Now you should check if it works or not.
Sorry but thats all what I can say. I dont have any problems on my Qosmio F50 and Windows 7.

  • MS Outlook on O365 versus FingerPrint software or Value Added Package

Hello all, I have problem - after installing FingerPrint software or Value Added Package some functionality in MS Outlook 2010 on MS O365 system stops working  like planning share meetings. I mean so problem in the Security - this application close some ports or something...
You have a solution or idea?
    Alex

Removing old and installing new VAP is definitely not risky. I have done this many times without any problems.
The latest version is much better and the flash cards are shown much faster than with old version. I can really recommend you to remove preinstalled version and install the latest one.

  • Re: Satellite P200D-11L: How to install the Windows XP

I've got a Satellite P200D-11L notebook for about 5 months and it has preinstalled windows Vista.
    I just can't stand them.
They crash every 5 minutes and they consume all my resources for no reason!!!
I can't run any program for my work that i used to run on XP with no problem because of incompatibility.
I just discovered that i can't play any games due to incompatibility reasons too.
I can only play games that are very new and of course those games don't play well due to lack of resources.
I am desperate. I tried loading XP on it but it just shuts down when I boot from XP cd an won't open again.
I need to install XP urgently but i dont know how.
Please give me some steps or some links so i can get rid of this bad software called vista.
    HELP!

    Hi
I think I know what you problem could be.
First of all you have to ensure that you Win XP CD contain the SP2.
I know about different problems which could appear during the XP installation if an SP2 was not included. If you XP CD has not SP2 then use the nLite program to built your own XP CD with SP2.
Furthermore your P200 supports the SATA controller and you will have to install (include) the SATA driver firstly.
This is not very difficult. You need the Intel Matrix Storage Manger.
During the XP setup press F6 and then you could include the SATA driver from the USB FDD drive. Search in this forum for details. There are a lot useful threads.
This Storage Manger can be downloaded from the Intel website or from the Toshiba European driver website.
Unfortunately the XP drivers for Sat P200D are not available on the Toshiba page at this time and I think you should try some drivers from the different P200 series.
    Bye

  • Can't install HWsetup or Value Added Package on Windows 7 64bit

I've upgrade to Windows 7 pro 64 bit, and I found FN (Function) key doesn't work, so I re-installed TVAP many times, but nothing.
then I checked HWSetup to enable FN Key, but couldn't find it in Control panel, I found it in Toshiba Folder in Start menu. and each time I enable Function Key, and close the tool, then re-open it. I found it didn't save the options I selected.
and now I can't use Hardware Setup tool at all, I can't enable Function key, I can't add password or anything. I uninstalled it many times & re-installed it. but nothing !!
it cant get the BIOS version even !
    here's a screen shot :

    any help ??

Maybe you have installed all this stuff in wrong installations order. I have installed Win7 32 bit on friends Satellite A500 following this installations order:
    -Win7
    -chipset driver
    -storage manager
    -display driver
    -sound driver
    -modem driver
    -supervisor utility
    -infrared
    -patches
    -configfree
    -VAP
    -toshiba hardware setup
    -HDMI control
    -WLAN driver
    Added Vista stuff:
    -Toshiba assist - work properly
    -Card reader - installed properly
-Webcam driver for A500 - tested with Skype - works properly.
    -Synaptics driver
Everything works perfectly including hardware setup. I don't know maybe you should install Win7 again following this installations order.
By the way: hardware setup was shown in control panel in WXP but since Vista not anymore. So I asked you this question because I know for sure it is not in control panel anymore.
Since Vista Toshiba packed all tools and utilities overview in Toshiba Assist.

  • Where to find Windows XP Value Added Package (VAP) for Portege R500

Where can I find the VAR software for Windows XP for the R500 (SSD, without optical drive)? Because otherwise the fn keys won't function...
I already tried to bypass the check in the Vista version.
Then I choose custom and select some options. Some fn keys work, others don't. And when one doesn't every function key stops working until I run reset flash (or something like that).
When can I suspect the VAR software for XP?

Toshiba Common Modules controls the FN buttons under Win XP.
    So reinstall the Common Module.
Hotkey Utilities for Display Devices controls the FN+F5 button combination.
Touch Pad On/Off Utility controls the FN+F9
But as I said above; common Modules must be installed at first and are very important.
So my personal advice to you; before you will post some personal statements, check the available drivers!!
Just a hint for the future ;)

  • Satellite A300-276 - nvraid.sys error on Windows start

    Good evening,
I am recently trying to install Windows 7 in my Satellite A300-276. I actually install it but when I want to start it apears a message saying:
"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix (...)"
and then, in the same page:
    "File:\Windows\system32\Drivers\nvraid.sys"
    "Status:0xc0000098"
"Info: Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing, or corrupt"
Could someone help me with this?
    Thank you very much.
    Best regards,
    Andr

I have installed Win7 32bit on my Satellite A300-1LI and on P300D successfully and it runs perfectly.
I don't have time to read the whole thread but what I sugesst you is to install Win7 32bit again and all other stuff following my installations order. It worked for me so I think it should be ok for you too.
    Here we go:
    Satellite A300 (PSAG8E) and clean Win7
    -Win7
    -chipset driver
    -storage manager
    -display driver
    -sound driver
    -modem driver
    -supervisor utility
    -infrared
    -patches
    -configfree
    -VAP
    -toshiba hardware setup
    -HDMI control
    -WLAN driver
Everything runs well but some Win7 drivers were missing so I have installed follow Vista stuff.
    Added Vista stuff:
    -Toshiba assist - work properly
    -Card reader - installed properly
-Webcam driver for A500 - tested with Skype - work properly.
    -Synaptics driver

  • TNS-12518 error on windows 64bit -

    hi all
we are getting the above error when connecting using SQL plus
we have 10 databases on the server
is this erorr due to resources onthe windows box
    thanx

is this erorr due to resources on the windows boxThat's one possible cause.
How many resources are you using? How many do you want, and how many do you need?
Add up all the SGA+PGA for all ten instances, if its near the total memory available on the box ... move a couple instances elsewhere.
You've got to have a couple GB free for the OS.

  • Satellite P200D-134 - can not use the Toshiba DVD player

I have the Satellite P200D-134 and can not use the Toshiba DVD player.
    It displays an error message.
"Required modules missing for this application"
In Vista it worked everything fine.
Now I upgraded Windows 7 Ultimate and all Toshiba programs are gone.
And I can not use the Software HD DVD player or other Software from Toshiba.
    What should I do?
Does anyone have any advice? Is there any help?
Please write back in German or English.
    Thank you!
    Rob

    Hi
Did you install the VAP (value added package)?
    If not do that!!!
Furthermore I recommend installing the DVD Player Update Check Tool which can be found on the Toshiba European driver page.
With this tool, you can check your notebook, if your DVD-Player needs a Upgrade and if yes, it gives you the download link for the needed upgrade version.
By the way: If you cannot find the DVD Player for Win 7 in P200D section then you can download this from the P500 section!
