Satellite P300 - how do I adjust the sensitivity of the touch pad?

I have read all of the forums without luck. Is it possible to adjust the sensitivity of the touch pad? I have gone into the control panel and clicked through the mouse settings but there is no 'Advanced' or 'Synaptics' tabs allowing this to be adjusted. At the moment, I am using the FN + F9 to disable the touch pad altogether, however I am hoping that this is a short term solution. Thanks for any replies.

If Synaptics driver is preinstalled on your notebook you can find advanced settings HERE .
When you open the properties the last option is Sensitivity .

  • I am physically disabled and having trouble with the sensitivity of the screen on my iPad mini - any suggestions?

I am physically disabled and having trouble selecting apps because of the sensitivity of the screen - any suggestions on what to do?

I would think assistive touch would be exactly what you are looking for.  It's engaged using the Accessibility method I described above.
Here's the writeup about assistive touch from the iPad User Guide:
AssistiveTouch AssistiveTouch helps you use iPad if you have difficulty touching the screen or pressing the buttons. You can use a compatible adaptive accessory (such as a joystick) together with AssistiveTouch to control iPad. You can also use AssistiveTouch without an accessory to perform gestures that are difficult for you.
Turn on AssistiveTouch: Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch. To set Triple-click Home to turn AssistiveTouch on or off, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-click Home.
Adjust the tracking speed (with accessory attached): Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch > Touch speed.
Show or hide the AssistiveTouch menu: Click the secondary button on your accessory.
Hide the menu button (with accessory attached): Go to Settings > General > Accessibility >
    AssistiveTouch > Always Show Menu.
Perform a swipe or drag that uses 2, 3, 4, or 5 fingers: Tap the menu button, tap Gestures, and then tap the number of digits needed for the gesture. When the corresponding circles appear on the screen, flick or drag in the direction required by the gesture. When you finish, tap the menu button.
Perform a pinch gesture: Tap the menu button, tap Favorites, and then tap Pinch. When the pinch circles appear, touch anywhere on the screen to move the pinch circles, then drag the pinch circles in or out to perform a pinch gesture. When you finish, tap the menu button.
Create your own gesture: Tap the menu button, tap Favorites, and then tap an empty gesture placeholder. Or, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch > Create New Gesture.
Lock or rotate the screen, adjust iPad volume, or simulate shaking iPad: Tap the menu button, then tap Device.
Simulate pressing the Home button: Tap the menu button, then tap Home. Move the menu button: Drag it to any location on the screen.
Exit a menu without performing a gesture: Tap anywhere outside the menu.

  • Is there a way to reduce the sensitivity of the one finger click on the trackpad?

Is there a way ro reduce the sensitivity of the one-finger click on the tackpad?

    nope.
it *****. i had to turn off "tap to click" if that ishat you are referring to. i couldn't write an email or any other document without the cursor inserting to wherever it felt like.
another solution for me would have been to place my trackpad above my keyboard, as it was the slightest of brushes against the trackpad that was causing this annoyance.

  • Is there a way to reduce the sensitivity of the touchpad?

Is there a way to reduce the sensitivity of the touchpad on the MacBook Pro?

More info on this touchpad issue:
It appears the cursor keeps switching to the text mode on its own while moving the cursor in pointer mode about the screen. It now is extremely difficult to click anything, as it nearly always switches to text/capture mode. E.g., if I move the pointer/cursor rapidly, it with change to text mode and begin highlighting everything it passes over, making it nearly impossible to use. Also, I have an extremly difficult time relating the cursor when editing text.
The problem has gotten so bad that I had to rever to the mouse, which doesn't seem to have the problem. Ergo, it's a touchpad, software or hardware issue.

  • Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the LG Extravert phone keypad?

having trouble with the keypad entering several of the same letters at the same time.  Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity?

        Hi Whitehouse,
When the physical keys are entering a letter twice, it will definitely be something with the hardware. Can you verify that the keys appearing twice aren't getting stuck when pressed? You should be able to feel the key returning when the pressure of the finger comes off. If they're getting stuck, please check the charging port and headset jack for corrosion and any other damage to the phone. If the phone is under warranty it may require a replacement. Please keep us posted.

  • Satellite P300-19P: CD/DVD drive tries to read the disk then ejects

    Hi,
    I hope someone can help,
    I have a *Satellite P300-19P*.
I have had this notebook 3 months and this is the latest frustrating problem; every now and again when I insert a DVD or CD and close the drawer the drive tries to read the disk and then ejects the disk, even if I take the disk out and shut the drive the drawer still ejects,
If I shut the system down and reboot the problem still exists.
I have checked the drivers which are up to date and the OS is Windows Vista home premium 32bit.
This is the fourth time this has happened and the problem seems to correct it's self and reappears as and when!!
Has anyone had this problem or can anyone help as this is driving me mad.

    Hi!
I think thats a problem with the CD/DVD drive.
In your case I would go to an ASP (authorized service provider). They should check your notebook and change the drive if it is necessary.
Here you can search for an ASP:

  • Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the keypad on an iPhone touch screen?

The keypad is so senstivoty its extremely difficult for me to use.  If even a tiny part of my finger brushes a key, its 'typed'. Yet if I try to use a stylus or something smaller so I don't acciently touch a key, there is no response at all.  Right now I feel like I have giant clumsby fingers because its no difficult to hit the right key.  I also have long finger nails but the keys don't respond to a touch from them..it seems to have to be skin contact for them to work so i have to turn my thumb to the side to touch a key.  Since I can't feel the key or see it due to the small size of it, I am pretty much guessing if I have the right one.  The problem is too, my right hand has a shake in it so it makes it even more difficult to not hit the wrong key...especially when they are so close together.  I have heard of others having similar problems...too sentivite and too hard to text on they had to take their phones in and get one with a regular push down keyboard.   Even when on the internet its so super sensitivity I end up accidently hitting something while trying to scroll, causing it to take me to a different page.  Its very frustrating.  Yet when pushing incons on the phones main menu I have to push them over and over and over again, hard to get any response. This is a brand new phone too.  Just got it earilier this week.
(and yes people have told me to cut my nails but I really don't think that will help anyway...besides I shouldn't have too just to get a phone to work).
    Thanks for your help!

There are pressure sensitive screens (which do respond to pointed sticks. ;-). ) and capacitive screens, which respond to the electrical capacitance created by the presence of a finger tip.  The iPhone is the latter. The only way the screen can respond to the pressure of you fingertip is by detecting the increased area of contact caused by your increased pressure. This is demonstrated in sone musical instrument apps. If the screen itself was to be pressure-sensitive, a sheet of rigid glass would not have been Apple's choice.  :-)

  • How do I adjust Native Luminance without the calibration?

My G4 has a strange issue where it's "Native Luminance" is VERY high and I cannot adjust it in the Monitor Calibration area. What this is causing is washed out lite colors. For example, when theh finder window is opened in columns mode - I cannot see the subtle drap shadows in between the columns.
It's not the video card, because I took it out and tested it on another machine and it looked fine. It's not my monitor either - it's adjustments are perfect and other monitors that I've hooked up to the same computer did the same thing.
Somewhere, something is set wrong. Any help would be really appreciated.

Go into System Preferences/Universal Access and check the Contrast setting. It should be on Normal, which is all the way to the left.

  • Is it possible to adjust the sensitivity of multi touch zoom in Safari 4?

    Hey, everyone.
I got my Macbook a few weeks ago, and it's my first exposure to OSX. I really enjoy it, and the mouse gestures have really been an incredible user experience (especially the two finger scroll- how absurdly convenient). I also occasionally used the zoom-in|out feature with multi touch, but something's changed. Before, a pinch would bring me one up or down one 'level' in Safari. Now, however (and I don't think I've changed much... upgraded to Safari 4, which come to think of it might have something to do with it) it skips over pretty much 6-7 'levels' of zoom from a pinch. It still works fine in Preview, it's a Safari only problem.
Is this a known problem with Safari 4?

I have noticed that problem with this Safari 4 beta, also, hypersensitive touch pad zooming. So it must be a software issue that is out of our hands. Hope the development team gets this fixed soon.

  • How can you adjust vertical photos in the interactive image widget?

It appears that adding a vertical image to the Interactive Widget automatically crops the top half of the image and won't let you adjust the default view.
Anyone else having this? Solving this?

Same problem. I cannot move the default position of the image. If you hide the Title, then at least the full image is visible, but it cannot moved and it is aligned to the top of the image area.

  • I can no longer scroll with the button on my touch pad. Have tried everything on Firefox help and still can't scroll....HELP please.

I have just updated to the Firefox 4 Beta and from having no problems at all with the previous version I can now no longer scroll. I have reloaded my touch pad drivers and also been onto "about:config" and altered various things suggested by 'firefox help' and still no luck. The scroll button on the touch pad does still work as I can still scroll in Thunderbird and any of the other programs that I use, just not with Firefox any longer. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

Since today the scrolling started to work for me. Was there a fix auto installed? I havent updated anything that I know about.
I might have uninstall an old Java JRE, don't remember when I did it, could that have done it?

  • I'm unable to scroll down the page using laptop touch pad.

My FF was updated automatically. I'm unable to scroll down the page using the laptop touch pad scroll option.
It was working fine on FF before upgrade and after upgrade on IE browser. But, in FF 9 it is not working. Any help is appreciated.

Type '''about:config''' in the address bar and hit Enter key. When you see a warning, click '''I'll be careful, I promise!''' button
-> In the '''Filter bar''', type '''trackpoint'''
    * right-click '''ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled''' preference, click '''Modify''' and change the value from '''-1''' to '''0''' (zero) or '''1'''
    * click OK
-> Close '''about:config''' tab and Restart Firefox
Check which value (0 or 1) works.
Not related to your problem but do the following:
-> Update Firefox to the latest version 10
    * [[Installing Firefox on Windows]]
-> Update All your Firefox Plugins -> https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
