Satellite P300 - power lights on, but nothing happens on screen

Hello,
I have a Toshiba Satellite P300-1F0, yesterday it was working fine, I turn it off without nothing extraordinary happens.
Although later when I wanted to turn it on I pressed the power button but the screen wasnt working, I tried to connect an external screen but nothing was shown on it, although the power lights were on, the cd reader opened and closed like normally does, and I could hear the fans working.
Than I realise the windows 7 welcome sounds weren't playing even after some minutes with the laptop turned on, and that the mouse laser only worked for some seconds before it turns off.
This was when I started to belive that it wasnt a screen problem but something else.
I read some forums, and I tried to disconnect the power cable, take out the battery, pressing the power button for 60sec and turn it on, and it worked, everything was working fine, I used the computer for some hours without any issue.
Today the same problem occured, and I tried to fix it the same way I did yesterday, holding the power button for 60 sec, but this time it didnt work. I retried this for 3 to 5 times and nothing.
After some hours letting the computer turned off, resting, I retried the process and now it worked.
Now I'm afraid to turn off the laptop, because to turn it on I need a lot of pacience and time.
What could be the problem, and how I solve it?

Yey, sometimes this workaround is helpful to bring the unit back the life.

Its difficult to say what cause this. The Satellite P300 is an old notebook model therefore it could be possible that one of the hardware parts starts to malfunction.
It would be interesting to know if usage of different RAM modules would change the notebook functionality. If you have some spare compatible RAM modules you could test it.
In worst case it could be possible that notebook motherboard start to malfunction.
This would be the worst case I hope for you that its not mobo related issue.
PS: check if your BIOS is up to date. In case its not the latest version, try to update the BIOS.

Hi, after a month of using my printer I've encountered one problem. When I turn on my printer it just stays like that and nothing happens. Do you get anything at all happening other than the fans, Rick? Does the screen light up at all? Have you tried connecting an external monitor?
Have you tried a PRAM reset, rather than just the SMU? (on these computers resetting the SMU does not also reset the PRAM)
Have you tried booting from an OSX / iMac system DVD?
Which particular iMac G5 do you have?
Have you disconnected ALL peripherals other than a genuine Apple keyboard and mouse?
It could even be a problem with a flat PRAM battery. If it is, don't buy a replacement from "We Love Macs", where they cost $50 instead of the regular price at your local supermarket or electrical store of less than $5! (see http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=857756&tstart=0)
There are various possible causes of your problem. I don't think we can assume it a power supply problem just yet, though it may be.

MSI KT6-DELTA power Goes up but nothing happen after ...

I have An Msi KT6-DELTA board with an Athlon XP 2000+ processor , SAMSUMG 512 MB DDR 400 , GeForce 3 64 MB DDR , 300 Watt power supply + Volcano 9 fan .
The power light goes on when I start the comp and fans are starting but nothing else happen nothing on screen ;( . I check the D-Bracket to know what was the trouble by the four light on it , All light are RED saying that the processor is damaged or not installed properly . I try 3 processor on it , all processor was Ok so what's going on?

I am running an KT600 LSR and I am having the same troubles. I push the button to start the computer and the fans come on.Nothing else happens until I press the reset button, then it starts normally. However it does search for a raid device every time it boots, None are connected so is there a way to make it stop searching? It sometimes hangs on that screen for 10 to 15 seconds.

Toshiba 40TL900A - power led on but nothing happening

Hi,
I have an 18month old Toshiba 40TL900A, am awaiting a service callout in a few days, my problem is that it has just seemed to shut down/locked out. I have the green led light on in the front and it wont do anything else, even after unplugging it for a few hours, when plugged back in the green light comes on automatically rather than the red led light first..
Anyone got any ideas please

As far as I know with TVs there is no much options you can do. Either it works or not.
All you can try is to use power button on remote controller or TV directly and see if you can switch it ON or OFF.
In my opinion you need professional help with this.

Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

Have you tried holding the centr button and menu. This will force a shutdown.

Hp 2000-de powers on but nothing happens

So I have a HP2000-2C25DX /Win8.1. It is still under warranty according to HP checker thing, as I bought it July/2013 and it is now Jan/2014. So anyway, last night I was sitting with the laptop on my lap researching stocks while watching Shark Tank on CNBC. So I was sitting there, not even touching the laptop, suddenly, 'poof', screen goes blank (not black), power is on, screen is backlit, wifi is blue, power light is blue, but nothing on the screen. Turn power off, turn power on, same thing, wifi on, power light on, screen on but blank, fan on, cd drive spins, one beep and nothing.
So unplug again, take battery out, hold power button on for 15 secs to do hard reset. Plug ac power back in, leave battery out, same thing, wifi light comes on, power light is blue, cd drive spins, one beep, then nothing. Screen is backlit but absolutly nothing happens, can't boot to anything, not safe mode, not help, not nothing!!!!!!

That seems like a potential video cable issue to me. The cable is generally routed via the left or right hinge dependent on model. As you mentioned the screen going blank when you pulled the screen forward then it points in that direction.
It's better to use the warranty now to get it fixed. The repair is not difficult but it is time consuming as you will need to strip down the laptop by removing the keyboard, touchpad/palmrest etc to allow access to the cable on the motherboard. Then you will need to gain access to the screen end by removing the bezel etc. I would definitely contact HP and get it booked in with one of their engineers.

When I returned home I could not connect to my home router. The Ipad seeks the router number but nothing happens. I rebooted the Ipad a few times in the school. The numbers identifying the router, etc. on my Ipad no longer appear there.
TThe Ipad guide says to connect to the WiFi use setup but I can't find the setup program in the Ipad.
I reset the network settings to the factory defaults but this doesn't fix the problem.
What can I do to reconnect to my home router?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

HT1766 iCloud backup box locked up iPad. I push ok but nothing happens. Box just stays there?

ICloud Backup box appears in middle of screen saying, "This iPad hasn't been backed up in 3 weeks. Backups happen when this iPad is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi. When I click the "OK", it changes colors like it's working, but nothing happens. So my iPad is locked up. It's plugged in, locked and connected to Wi-Fi like the box said. I can't unlock or turn off. The sliders won't move because of the box in the middle.

Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"
