Satellite P300 - Turns itself on automatically

Hi,
I have a Satellite P300 with Windows Visa Home Premium as the OS. When I turn the computer off (through shut down) it successfully shutting itself down. However, after a while (between 15 min - 2 hours) it turns the computer on automatically without any intervention from my side.
Any advise on how the issue could be fixed?

Have you connected external devices to your notebook like printer, mouse, LAN cable or something else? If yes disconnect all of them and the only cable that should be connected is AC/DC adapter. All other devices you should remove and then test if your notebook turns on again.
Furthermore I would go into BIOS and load the default settings. Make also sure that Wake up on LAN is disabled and save these new settings.
By the way: Since when do you notice this behavior?

it might be because of the battery, or it could just be that it is putting itself in "sleep" mode, if that is what has happened it will "wake" when you push the hold or the home button. but im not sure this is just a guess. what happens when you push one of the buttons after it has shut down? does it continue to play the music once it has turned off?

PowerBook G4 turns itself off automatically

I found a PowerBook G4 in my closet, so I turned it on and was using it just fine, and then without warning it turned itself off. When I boot it up I can hear an internal fan running, and it keeps running the entire time the computer is turned on. I'm not sure which OS it's running. I had the same problem with my MacBook Pro. What I found out is that your battery needs to be charged above 20%. Plug your computer in, let it charge for half and hour, and try turning it on again.

There is any way to prevent internet sharing from turning of itself automatically wen the analog modem is disconnected?
At home i have to use an analog modem to connect to the internet (no adsl coverage), under Snow Leopard i was able to create a wi-fi Network to share files and connection between an iMac (connected directly to the internet), an iPhone, a MacBook and a Ps3.
With lion, apple introduced a new feature in the internet sharing tools: in fact the wi-fi connection is turned ON only when the modem (or the selected internet source whatever it is) is connected to the internet, when i disconnect it all the network is turned Of.
So, there is any way to keep alive the network also when the modem is disconnected, like when i was under Snow Leopard?

Satellite keeps turning itself off during recovery

Hello,
So i am trying to do a system recovery for my satellite. I put the disc in and run it from the windows screen. It restarts the computer then brings up the "Windows is loading files" screen. The bar never fills all the way and the computer just turns off. It doesn't restart, it just turns off.
Has done this about 20 times now. Any suggestions?

I tried the Toshiba Recovery Wizard intalled in my laptop but during the process, my pc restart thus the process was interrupted after that i attempted to re-start the computer but the message i'm getting everytime is bootmgr is missing. I've tried the utility set-up option without result.

For the life of me i can't figure out what is going on. My audio continually turns itself down automatically. The only time it stops doing this, is if I physically turn the computer off, then turn it back on after a bit. It's driving me crazy...

Encountered similar problem after OTA upgrade to 10.3.1.1865 back in March. Did not bother me much, at first, cus I rarely used phone for calls (txting is way more convenient these days). But I was recently on vacation and noted when I used video function (native BB camera or other video app) that all sound was just constant static. Most irritating. So, I figured latest upgrade to 10.3.2.2168 would fix problem. Now, I can use speaker to converse on phone, but I still get static without speaker. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Satellite P300 - Easy keys turn power on. Can this feature be turned off?

just received my Satellite P300-15D yesterday and I am experiencing the following problem:
The laptop starts working by itself after being shuted down. I noticed that during off period, if you touch the CD/DVD/MEDIA Easy Key it turned power on. So the thing is: I cannot close the laptop because after a while it turns on by itself.
Maybe because screen contacts with the easy keys surface...don't know...weird... any help? (O.S. Windows Vista Home Premium). It happened a lot of times....can't we disable the power on function of the easy key? I have been searching for an application for this and didn't find any...or in extremis...can't we just shut the digital easy keys feature off?

I'm having the exact same problem with a Toshiba Satellite P300 here. The multimedia button seems so sensitive that the laptop will turn on by itself after a while. I haven't been able to find a program to disable it. Has anyone found a solution to this? If you do, please send me an email at [email protected] (remove the nospam) so I can fix it once and for all.

Set date and time automatically keeping turning itself off?

Every time I go to the App Store I get a pop-up stating that it can't connect and that this may be caused by an incorrect date and time setting. I go to Settings and discover that "Set Automatically" has somehow turned itself off. I can turn it back on and then access the App Store. Until the next time. When the whole problem starts over. Why won't it stay on Set Automatically? Thanks.

Try this first. Reboot your iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that doesn't work, you can reset all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings. That will turn all of the settings back to factory defaults and you will have to enter them again. You will not lose any data.
You can also try restoring from a backup - if you have a recent backup. The backup contains the device settings and that just might work. It worked for me when I was experiencing the very same problem that you are having.

My volume automatically turns itself all the way down whenever I start my ipod (even when I'm not playing music). As soon as I slide my ipod into opening the volume goes all the way down. Even if it's already completely off, the audio icon comes on the screen, which tells me the ipod is still trying to lower the volume. As I said, I don't even have to be listening to music. I can be on the opening screen. When I turn the volume back up, it immediatley turns it back down. It only doesn't go down if I physically hold my finger to volume bar on the touch screen.
And yes, I've updated all my software (on my ipod and laptop). I've also entirely reset my ipod twice.
Tell me, is it time to ditch the ipod and find some other sort of mp3 player (this is one problem at the end of a long list of less debilitating but equally annoying issues I've had with my 2 ipod touches)

Yeah, I probably mean restore. Multiple times though!
Also, I forgot to mention that this issue persists regardless of whether or not my headphones are plugged in.

My Satellite P300 keeps restarting itself after the initial start up screen.
The initial start up screen with the F2 & F12 options at the bottom appears, the screen then goes black, then a cursor appears in the top left hand corner and flashes a couple of times. Then the laptop shuts down and restarts itself and goes through the same process over and over.
This is all with the power adaptor plugged in. If unplugged, it will go through the above mentioned process and shut itself down with no restart.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

F8 is not listed in this meny, just F2 and F12 but F8 should help you to enter Advanced boot options .
Can you please give an answer to C3POs question?
Have you made some hardware upgrades in the past (RAM, HDD)?

Im having the same problem, I updated my Iphone 4S to 6.1.3, shortly after that my phone had no audio. It was working fine one minute and then stopped. Was listening to music when sound gave out on me. It wont ring, phone just vibrates even after turning off vibration option. I've tried all the options listed and nothing. My phone has never been jailbroken either. If I connect the earphones is works perfectly. On one of my last calls received, phone's ringtone was heard for about 2 seconds before muting and just vibrating. Ringtone sounded perfect, speakers did not sound damaged.
What else could be done? I've read several post regarding this and it seems like Apple has no solution to this yet. Very dissappointed.

When I try to turn off my notebook (Satellite P300 with Windows Vista Home), i.e. to complete the session and remove power, the notebook reboots rather than turns off.

Satellite P300 is not the newest notebook model and I presume you got it for a while?
Since when you have noticed this issue?
Have you installed some Microsoft updates before this starts to happen?
Try to define power button as switch notebook off and test if the same will happen again.

Satellite A60-157 - turns itself off!

I bought this in january and it's caused me nothing but trouble. the Touchpad no longer works so i have to use a usb mouse, but thats not what the problam is!
Everytime i try to burn a dvd it turns itself off!!
It has a pentium 4 processer, 448mb of ram and a 80gig hard drive.
If anyone can help me fix this problam i have when burning i'd be very very happy,

If the touchpad doesnt works you should reinstall the necessary driver. Please check the website for some new updates. Furthermore if your notebook turns off without any reason it could be an overheating issue. In this case you should give the unit to the service partner. If the warrant still valid utilize it.
On the other side it could be a burning software problem. Well you ca try to disable the option Automatically restart in Startup and Recovery.
This you can find in System->Advanced->Startup and Recovery
You can also recover you OS wit the recovery CD.

Satellite 2430-S255 turns itself off while playing video clips

My Toshiba Notebook Satellite 2430-s255 turns itself off within 5 minutes whenever I play streaming video clips from web sites using Windows Media Player version 10.0. I uninstall version 10 and used version 9, but there was no difference. Computer has 512 meg memory and 10 gig of extra space on harddisk.
There is no problem when I play DVD using the same software.
Toshiba support has been telling me that cpu is working hard and it heats up to cause this problem. I used fan to circulate the air, but computer still turns itself off.
Can some one help.

HI Jyotsna,
Any graphics activity will tend to make your notebook run hotter and will therefore need adequate cooling.
Check that your airways through the CPU heatsink are not clogged with dust and debris (lots of threads in this forum about it), and also make sure that there is sufficient air gap under your notebook to allow air to get in to the fan vents.
