Satellite P300D-10V shut down when playing game

Hello everyone
I bought a Sat P300d-10v last month. At first it was very good but it was always very hot.
I thougt that the cause is the weather but it wasn't.
When I try to play a game (cod4-prostreet- even easy dos games) my device always shuts down in first ten minutes! and it was always doing that at any game any resolation!
And another problem too; if I turn on the music up to %50 device was making a "diiizzzz" sound from the all keypad and connection points of the plastic pieces.
First i couldnt thought them as big problems but when i search on line in Turkey i found lots of people who are having same problems on their P300D-10V
and some of them gave their pc's to technical service and take their moneys back so I gave mine too.
But of course i am having problems to tell my problems to technical service right now.
Is there anyone who are having these same problems with this pc or any knowledges about the problems?
Erman Manas
Bursa/TURKEY

i gave my pc to authorized service center ,in my local area but they say that they couldnt find any problem in the pc while playing any game or in the sound system, maybe they have cleaned the dust you've mention about.
so today i am gonna go to the service center and we will look the device together.
room tempture was about 30 degrees i accept it was hot but it shouldnt shut down at all...
and the sound system is not related with the tempture.
so i will mention about the test i am gonna do to day in the technical service.
but i wonder is there anyone who are having the same problem with me ?????

Are you able to test stronger power supply in your PC? 550W seems to me really low, especially when this GPU requires 500W at least, and GPU is the 8 core boy
Agree that PSU seems the likely culprit from the info disclosed thus far--600W (or better) with ~49-50a (or better) on the 12v rail is what I'd recommend.

  • My Satellite laptop (A305) shuts down when run on the AC charger/adapter

The problem is that my Toshiba _A300 series laptop (A305) shuts down when you try to run it on the AC charger/adapter_. You can boot it with the power cord plugged in and it will get to Windows Desktop and maybe a few minutes more at most before shutting off.
It will boot and _run from battery without problem_, but if you plug in the AC while it is up and running on battery the machine will normally click off instantly and reboot to the message "Windows was not shut down correctly."
The _AC adapter works fine_ reading a steady 19.19 to 19.20 volts with a voltmeter. It also _charges the battery fine when the computer is off_. I have two Toshiba brand batteries and they both work fine.
One interesting thing is that the _computer runs fine on AC when in safe mode_.
I _did a reformat/factory restore_ of Vista to assure it was not software and drivers, and still got the same problem before any external devices had been plugged in.
It has the latest BIOS and I tried resetting it to default values in case anything had gotten changed. It made no difference.
This is _not a heating issue_ because _while it is run on battery I can watch long videos_ without it shutting off. I ran compressed air through the vents just to make sure, but it makes no difference in behavior. Usually with an overheating shut-off, the computer cannot be started until it has cooled some, but these shutdowns are accompanied by an instant reboot.
I have seen on some threads that this type of problem one can work around by disabling one of the processors in Device Manager, but I don't think that is much of a lasting solution or good for the computer.
Has anyone seen this problem before and have you come with a full diagnosis of the problem and a real solution?

I have Satellite A300 and until now everything works OK.
I would like to know what happen when you remove the battery and use notebook with power supply only. Does notebook shuts down again.
If not let OS run and put the battery.
Is the battery recognized properly? Does notebook switch off again?
To be honest I cannot imagine this issue has something with software or background processes. Recovery image you got with your notebook is designed for this certain notebook mode. Recovery image is tested and I dont think preinstalled OS has anything to do with this.
    Full diagnosis?
And how to do this? You know very well that diagnosis can be done with diagnostic tools only and such tools have services only. I hope you will find answers but Im 99% sure there is nothing you can do about that. Maybe you should contact service, explain the situation and ask for help.

  • Why does Macbook Pro have gray "curtain"and msg to shut down when playing video online?

    Hi,
I have a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard v 10.6.8 and have put on all the security updates.
I bought this machine just days after the newest MBP's were released with Lion because I wanted to stay with Snow Leopard
From the very beginning I would have occasional "gray screens" with a message that I'd encounterd a problem and needed to shut down.  It always occured while I was watching a streaming video online (Flash?) but it didn't always happen.  I updated my Flash plugin and that seemed to help.  I use both Safari and FireFox and both are now updated to the latest versions.
I had also noticed via iCleanMemory that my memory availability was very low .....I always have many tabs open in my browsers and have backup software that backs up to online storage running and when I watched a video, it dropped to almost 0 and everything ran slow.  I had 4 GB Ram.
So, I ordered new ram and put that in and now have 8 GB.  Machine runs fast. Love it....except it keeps giving me that veil of gray and the message to shut down.  It happens several times a day now and while usually in conjunction with watching a video clip, it's not always the case.  But I have lots of available memory.  That wasn't the issue.
I found an Apple Support paper relative to needing a video update on some mid 2010 MBP's and downloaded it.  It won't install and says it won't run on my system so that didn't help.
I'm at my wits' end trying to keep this thing running.  Everytime I have to shut it down it means a minimum of 8 min...sometimes more.....before it will restart.  If I try to restart sooner than that, it begins to boot and then just has lines and lines of numbers and code running across it....and often continuous beeping sounds and I have to hold the button down to shut it off again.  If I wait long enough, it does boot back up and sometimes runs fine as long as I'm not watching video clips, a streaming tv show or clicking on a lot of links in web pages.
I don't believe it has shut down when I was doing anything that wasn't web related....i.e. on a browser. And, when I was running with only 4 gb ram, it rarely shut down, just ran very, very slowly.  Now with 8 gb ram it is speedy but doesn't seem to want to keep working!
Anyone have any ideas what I should try next?
    Thanks
    Paula

    Hi Allan,
    Thanks for your reply.
I have been closing iCleanMemory but the shut down (kernel panic) was still happening.  Not sure how to go about uninstalling it as it's one that runs at start-up and dragging it to the trash might not get rid of it completely.  I"ll find it's web site and see if they have any info.
Haven't checked your web link yet (it's late and gotta get to bed) but will do so tomorrow.
I also run Backblaze and DropBox that begin at startup and are constantly updating in the background, iStatMenus and Sharpshooter.
The kernel panics were happening....tho much less frequently.....before i put iClean Memory on.  If I remember right, I installed it just because I had those periodic shut downs and wondered if it was a lack of memory.  Because I then saw that memory was very low all the time, I decided I must need to put more memory in.  And that seems to have made the issue worse while also making the machine work faster for the time it is running.
Now, I've been working on here for a couple of hours and had no problem at all......but I haven't asked it to play any kind of video.  Before I quit for the night, I'll try to watch the last one I tried that caused it to shut down and see if it does it again.
I do appreciate your help as I have just enough knowledge about these things to be dangerous.

  • Annoying shut down when playing music

Can anyone help please. My mac is 6 months old has the latest OS. When I leave it playing music either in Itunes or on u tube. It shuts down to login after 15 minutes. If I am using it it does not. I have disabled all energy saving options and all "never shut down" options selected. But everytime I leave it religiously shuts down after 15 minutes.
    Thanks

    Hi Paul,
Take a look at the Security & Privacy settings in System Preferences, the are advanced options which are described in the article below that can create an issue like where a  Mac will automatically log out after 15 minutes of inactivity.
OS X Mavericks: Set your Mac to log out when not in use

  • Apple Air shuts down when playing iTunes after 15 minutes

  • Why does iTunes shut down when playing music but not using computer, why does iTunes shut down when playing music but not using computer

    Hi Everybody
When I use my macbook pro running lion 10.7.2 to play music through itunes it shuts down after about 2 minutes, is there anything I can set to keep the itunes open and playing when  not in use, this problem only started when I updated from snow loepard to lion.
    Thanks

    Hi Limnos
I have tried that but it makes no difference at all, the only way I have found to get continues sound is to open and set a keynote presentation onto play and dimmed the screen using the function key and adjusting it manually so as not to kicker my screen, there must be an easier way than this.
    Thanks for trying

Check the sample rate and bitrate against what the iPod is able to play.

  • Computer shuts down when playing a 3D game...

The weirdest thing... my computer won't run any 3d application anymore. If i try and run Command and Conquer Generals, fifa 2004, or half life (all 3d games), it dies. Yet i can happily run Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 (a 2D game) for hours without a hiccup. When I say it "dies", all i can do is describe what happens...
I can run the game for about 2 minutes (if I am lucky) and then...
    1) it freezes for about 5 seconds
    2) the monitor turns itself on standby (yellow light insteadof a green one)
    3) i can still hear the music, but it stops after about 20 seconds
    4) i can still hear the fans working, and the green light on the front of the comp, but nothing works, none of the keys, alt f4, ctrl alt del, nothing.
    5) I have to turn it off at the back and use the power switch to turn it back on again, and it loads up like nothings happened.
How strange is that? Let me just emphasise something... I hadn't changed a thing before it started happening. I hadn't changed the software or hardware for about 6 months, no driver update, no change of graphics card, no overclocking... nothing.
    My specs are
    Msi KT4v agp 8x mobo
    AMD t'bird 2800+ xp
    1.25gb ddr ram
    350w PSU
    Radeon 9500pro 128mb
    300gb Maxtor hdd
    200gb WD hdd
    AC97 onboard sound
    DVD drive
    CDRW drive
    3.5" Floppy
I've run a virus checker, reformatted and reinstalled WinXP w/ sp1 (thought that would fix it, grrr), updated the bios ages ago, checked the hsf/fan is seated correctly.
What do you think? I'm not too tech savvy but I reckon something has burnt out and damaged slightly. I leave my computer on 24/7, and my small room can get pretty hot sometimes. Possibly the gfx card, or the memory on it?
    Cheers.

:-D)crap, sorry about that, new here, solution got erased im such a dumbass
try adding a case fan if space available in case, get one cheap and good at http://www.newegg.com
    good luck

  • ITunes shuts down when trying to play video

My iTunes software shuts down when I try to play a video from my iTunes Library or from the iTunes Store site. I have backed up the library and have tried to reinstall iTunes, but when I did the entire library reappeared and the same problem exists. My Quicktime does work and iDVD, too, with home movies, other online streaming and DVDs, So I'm sure that the problem is with iTunes.

  • TS1702 Since I updated to ios6 my City of Warfare game shuts down when I try to go to battle. I removed my original game app and reinstalled a new game, which I had to start from the beginning and it still crashes. I'm sure that others are having similar

Since I installed ios6 my City of Warfare game shuts down when I try to battle. I removed my original game and reinstalled a new game app which started a new game..and it still shuts down, help?

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

  • Satellite A200 won't shut down when power supply is connected

The Satellite A200 just shuts down, if the power cable is disconnected before shutting down. Otherwise the notebook shuts down and restarts immediately (max 5 seconds between shut down and restart).
Does anybody got the same strange problem?

    Hi Thomas
You should definitely contact the ASP in your country. Maybe its something wrong with the power supply electronic on the notebooks motherboard.
As John said the replacement should be done for free because the A200 is a new series and the warranty should be valid.
    Good luck

  • IMac shuts down when using Safari 2.0.4

My iMac shuts down when I visit certain websites such as Pogo or video sites. Took it to the Apple store and of course the problem wouldn't replicate there. They kept it to check out the scripts and logs to see if they could find a problem - without success; although they did suggest my house is haunted. Brought it home and it quit again.
We thought perhaps we were getting interference from other wireless devices and unplugged our cordless phone which worked for a day. The computer always turns back on so its more of an annoyance than a real problem, but I'm baffled.
It also happened once when I was downloading from the iTunes store, but is most prevalent with Safari.
We have wireless internet connected via ethernet to an Airport Express.
    Any ideas? Thanks.
    iMac G5 Mac OS X (10.4.10)

    Hi Barry -
Yes I do live near a ghost town (kinda) - Virginia City, NV. And I did tell any unwanted visitors to leave.
Actually, in the last year, they have replaced the Super drive, power supply, inverter and logic board. The only reason I'm not thinking power issues is that it only happens when I'm in Safari or iTunes. I would use Firefox except I've got java issues with that. I can (and do) use the machine for other things all day long without problems. I can use Safari all day long as long as I'm not playing on Pogo or certain video sites. Maybe Pogo is haunted?
It also doesn't happen on my husband's iMac on the other side of the house. Is there something that could cause enough interference to actually make the machine shut down? Oh, the antennae for the satellite TV and internet are on the roof directly above me, if that would have anything to do with it.
    Thanks for your help.
