  • Satellite L300-2CL - built in mic stopped working

    Hello
When I bought this computer (sep-09) everything was working fine. Then in march (I hade it idle for awhile), my built in mic stopped working.
Everything eles is working fina, and I have scanned the web for solutions, and tried to install new drivers, unistall them, boots everything possible, disabel and rebooting, but at most I just get a static sound from my test recordings.
I am using win 7 home pre, but the issues started when I was using Vista. Now I am out of ideas, and my friends on Skype grows tired of not hearing me.
Is there anything I can do to get the mic work, or should I just buy a headset?
    Greatful for help

    Hi
Sounds a little bit like an mic hardware issue but you should also check the internal mic settings in control panel -> sound.
There you will see the Recording tab.
Here you should mark the internal mic and should check the properties.
Set all volume controllers to max.
Choose internal mic as standard device.
In Playback tab choose speakers -> properties.
There you will see the level tab. Here you should set the microphone to 100 and should check if its not disabled too.

  • Built in mic not working

I just noticed my built in mic is not working at all and I need to use it. I've tried setting it in system preferences but can't get it to do anything. A hardware test has reavealed nothing. BTW the mic input seems to be dead also.
I thought I'd ask if anyone has any tricks on this before I call Applecare to the rescue.
    Thanks,

Many G5 Power Mac users have trouble with the built-in microphone - you can see why from the specs.
    http://support.apple.com/specs/powermac/PowerMac_G5_Early2005.html
The analogue audio-in port on the G5 is line-in and requires a higher-level input than a simple microphone can provide - the usual solution is to use either a powered mic, a mic pre-amp or a USB i/f - some discussion here

and elsewhere if you enter "microphone" in the search box at top right of this forum.
If, on the other hand, you have a G5 iMac, you may have more fortune in the iMac forum

  • Satellite A215-S7444 built-in webcam not working with MSN / Skype

Hi, I've just bought my laptop and right after installing the newest MSN and Skype, the video is not working with these programs. I tried to configure the video settings inside MSN and it told that "windows cannot connect to this webcam. It's in currently in use or not plugged in". The webcam is built-in, a Chicony USB 2.0.
    Any hints ??

    Hi there,
maybe you should download the webcam software for your machine from the toshiba driver download site and install it. The webcam works but the software sometimes behaves really weird so you just have to reinstall it. Maybe its an good idea to uninstall the old software before...
    Greetings

  • Satellite C650-010 - Built in microphone not working

built in microphone did not work after three weeks. I tried to install new driver software from Toshiba website, but did not help. External webcam with microphone works well.
Yesterday microphone worked for ten minutes but then mute again.

    Hey,
    > I tried to install new driver software from Toshiba website
What driver software you have installed?
The microphone belongs to internal webcam so you have to reinstall the webcam driver if internal microphone doesnt work properly.
    > but then mute again.
Does this mean the internal microphone is muted? Please check the Windows sound settings if the microphone is listed properly under recording devices and set as default device.

  • Built-In Mic not working when Headphones plugged in?

I'm currently using the 13 inch Macbook Pro with the latest software. I noticed just today that the built-in microphone that comes with the laptop will not work when I plug in my headphones. However, as soon as I remove them, they resume working.
Does anyone have a solution to this?

Use headphones that also have a microphone.

  • Line in / Built in Mic not working

Hello everyone. I've got an iMac G5 and for some reason it just doesn't want to accept any sound input.
The built in mic and line in both have the same behavior; no matter what I set the input volume to the bar never budges no matter how loud the sound is. The only time I even see the bar twitch is when I switch between the built in mic input and line in; sometimes I will see the bar flicker for an instant.
This problem was happening with 10.4.2 and hasn't been fixed by 10.4.3. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Have same problem and have read entire thread. I
don't have LOGIC so could not try it. Only
difference with me is that my indicator shows input
from line and I can vary it with input source volume
controL. Just cannot hear it thru built in speaker.
Both MIDI and PREF set correctly. Need help from
    anyone on this thread.
You will not hear sound automatically through your speakers. You need something to listen to the audio that is being piped in.
    Try the program "LineIn" from:

    This should get you going.

  • Toshiba Satellite E45t-B4300 built in microphone not working

    Greetings,
Today I bought the Toshiba Satellite E45t-B4300. I was trying to use the built in microphone and it is not functioning. The video recorder appears to work fine. After searching around, I decided to download the most recent drivers from toshiba. I uninstalled the old audio device and installed the new drivers. After this process, the microphone still does not function. (Yes, I rebooted, and all standard good practices ) It appears to be listed in the recording devices and enabled. When I try to set it up, it does not detect any audio. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh it also runs Windows 8.1.
    Thank you.

  • Bootcamp XP SP3, Built-In Mic Not Working

    Hello,
I recently purchased a copy of Snow Leopard and so updated my Boot Camp installation from version 2.something to version 3.1. Since this update, my internal microphone has not functioned properly. It is not completely dead; rather, it appears to play back any voice recordings choppily and sped up, so that the changes in pitch render the voice communication unrecognizable.
The odd thing is that if I use the built-in "Sound Recorder" application in Accessories/Entertainment, it records fine, but if I perform the microphone test in Control Panel/Sound and Audio Devices, or attempt to use the microphone for communication in online gaming, it sounds as described above. When I updated Boot Camp, I noticed a new control panel called IDT Audio, so I suspect these new drivers are responsible for the issue, but I have no idea how to troubleshoot this issue. Any thoughts?
I have an old MacBook Pro (Core 2 Duo @ 2.53Ghz) and 4GB of memory. I am running OS X 10.6.2 (in which the microphone works fine!) and Windows XP SP3 with Boot Camp 3.1.
please help me to solve this issue , My audio driver is Circus Logic High define nation audio ..
    advance thanks to all

  • Built-in Microphone not working on G60-445dx running XP SP3

    PLEASE HELP!
After downgrading to XP using this guide, and later this guide... I still cannot get the built-in microphone working.
I have the NVIDIA HD Audio driver v. 1.0.0.59 installed as well as the Conexant HD SmartAudio Driver v. 3.49.4.51. After installing and reinstalling these again and again in different orders I still have the same results: Speakers work, headphones work, plug-in microphone works, but BUILT-IN microphone is not even recognized in the system.
    What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your guys' suggestions. I finally got my built-in mic to work in Boot Camp with Windows XP Pro XP2 on my MBP 2.5Ghz 15" with OS 10.5.2.
    Go to:
    1. Task bar and double click on the volume (little speaker) icon
    2. Master volume control panel pops up, click Options and Properties
    3. Mixer Device: Realtek HDA Primary input
    4. Check off Mic Volume, click OK
    5. Mic Volume control panel pops up. Check off Select and max out the volume
    6. Click Advanced, and check off 1 Microphone Boost
    Thanks again.

  • IPhone 2G voice mic not working

Has anyone come across iPhone 2G voice mic not working (not being heard by the other person) but works fine on speaker phone and bluetooth headset. It has been working fine so far and suddenly developed this problem! Any help is highly appreciated….

I had that problem with my iPhone 3G after about 5 days.
I just had Apple take a look at it.
They cleaned it out, called it and stuff.
    Didn't work.
Since I didn't drop it in water and it was not my fault in any way, they gave me a brand new one.
