Satellite P50-A-144: Intel WLAN driver update solves unstable WiFI

The notebook Toshiba Satellite P50-A-144:
The current Toshiba Download Driver version is the 16.5.1 (OEM Version) and is already installed on the notebook, and the current Intel Download Driver version is the 16.10.0 (generic Version).
*This new version solves the problem of unstable WiFi/WLAN Internet connection.*
Will Toshiba have available soon the OEM version updated to the 16.10.0?

Intel has released as of 06/26/2014 a new Driver Version 17.0.5.8 and
Toshiba up to 07/12/2014 still has not updated the corresponding Toshibas OEM Version,
either the previous Intels older Version 16.10.0.5 has not been updated by Toshiba.
It seems the Drivers update by Toshiba takes very very long time until they are ready to download on the Toshiba Support web page.
Unfortunatly, Intel does not recommend to install the generic Driver on Toshiba-OEM Systems, because they do not provide support in case of issues after installation, and suggest to get the Update directly from Toshiba, so there is no other chance, just to wait for the Update until Toshiba released the OEM-Version.
Are there other alternatives?

In the device management webcam disappeared and I have an advice with a message: composite device USB.

In the past Toshiba has offered webcam drives for Vista or Win7 but on Win8 machines there is no Toshiba driver anymore. Notebook uses Microsoft drivers. This is the reason why you cannot find webcam driver on Toshiba download page.
Be careful with updates installation. In my opinion you should deactivate automatic update option and before you start updates download and installation check up which drivers are offered. Install important updates but be careful with stuff listed as optional updates. Drivers listed there should be installed from Toshiba download page.
To be honest I don't know what went wrong with your machine but try, if possible, to roll back OS to earlier time before you have installed these updates to see if webcam works again.
Out of curiosity: have you created recovery media following instructions in users manuals document?

It is possible to install the driver from Intel but you have to do this is device manager!
You have to FORCE windows choosing the downloaded driver and this can be done using the advanced installation procedure. This helps to choose the driver from Intel and to finish the installation!

Intel WLAN Driver -7 (64) does not install on W530

I have a W530 running the latest updates for Windows 7. When I try to install the Intel WLAN Driver - 7 (64) V17.13.11 from System Update, it stops at 91%. How can I get it to finish the installation? Thanks.

Search your disk for recent *.log files right after an install attempt. Most driver installers output a nice detailed breakdown of what they're doing.

Planning update Satellite A300-201 to Win7x64 (WLAN-driver)

Im planning to update a Satellite A300-201 to win7x64. I think, I found most of the necessary drivers but the WLAN driver is missing and doesn't appear in the download list.
Did anybody successfully install win 7 64-bit on this machine yet and has a solution?

Intel Video driver update

I am going to download a multimedia editing software that I am buying from an online store. They adviced to check if I need to update my Intel video driver, among other things. I went to Toshiba Site, and I don't see any video drivers updates available there. I then went to Intel, and there is one. My question is: Is it necessary to download this update from Intel?
The driver I have now is version: 10.18. 10 3345. The one in Intel is
Version: 15.33.32.64.4061 (Latest) Date: 01/08/2015
Toshiba Satellite P845t- S4305 laptop
Windows 8.1
IE 11
Computer is 1 year old.

I certainly can't answer that. But I do have some comments.
It's usually best to stick with the drivers that OEMs offer for laptops. That's because laptop makers sometimes tweak the chips and drivers. So the device maker's driver no longer works right. For that reason, I never permit Windows Update to change any drivers.
If you do get the newer driver from the Intel site, it will likely refuse to install, with a message something like..
The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer’s manufacturer. Setup will exit.
That doesn't necessarily mean it won't work - or even be better. It just means Intel doesn't want to be responsible for any troubles you may have.
They in fact offer a workaround here (scroll down).

Can I update my 13 inch macbook pro's intel hd3000 driver, with the one from intel's support site and expect the same stability, as with the boot camp's drivers?And perhaps better performance?

AMD only. Graphics switching does not function under Windows 7 and the discrete AMD GPU is the one that is active. As the switching is not done via nVidia's Optimus technology, there is not a standard driver package that you can install that will achieve this (AMD/ATI's Catalyst package does not have GPU switching capabilities). Either Apple or a third party would need to develop and support this.

Intel wlan driver 16.11 download for T430/T530

Hi,
Today, Lenovo issued new wlan drivers for the ThinkPad T430 and T530. I am reporting two issues: (1) the download for the 64 bit Windows is corrupted and cannot be run, and (2) the download is missing for the T530 which uses the identical Intel cards, and is noted in the readme file. Please correct corrupted 64 bit grw212ww_64.exe file, and make sure that it also appears on the T530 download list.

WLan driver installation solved WLan connection problems on Satellite P200

After 2 fruitless days of trying to get my wireless adapter to recognize my home network I finally stumbled on the solution. I have a Satelitte P200 which used the AtherosAR5007EG adapter.
If you go back to the Windows XP 32 bit drivers it works like a charm. Installed the new driver and it found my network right away and I could get on the internet.

Ive never had a Lan Driver or the ability to connect to a WiFi Network. I currently use a BT voyager, however that has broken. Is there anywhere I can download either Lan Driver or Wireless Lan Driver that will allow connection to my WiFi Network without the use of the external BT voyager.

The Satellite Pro A100 were equipped with the different WLan cards; two different Wlan cards are possible; Intel and Atheros.
All necessary WLan drivers can be found either on the Toshiba European driver page or on the Toshiba WLan portal.

I bought a *Toshiba Satellite Pro Model L50-B05D psktaa-05d001*.
I needed a new machine as I was starting a new job the next day.
During an install off office 2013 the machine in one of its reboots had a catastrophic error.. and refused all recovery attempts. around 19:00 at night...
I needed an operational machine for work...the next day
I pulled out my Windows 7 and proceeded to reconfigure machine and install Windows 7.. The Machine is operational BUT I cannot get the Wireless LAN functioning... for the Model I have there does NOT appear to be a Wireless lan driver...
The network card functions BUT not wireless LAN..
Can anyone please advise what is the correct Wireless LAN driver for the machine...

Your notebook Satellite L50-B05D belongs to the PSKTAA series and this series was released in Australia only.
But the similar notebook series Satellite L50-B PSKTAE was released in Europe.
Therefore the drivers from Toshiba EU driver page should be compatible.

Qosmio x870 WLan driver update needed due to WLan issues

Hi,
I have this notebook since 3-4 months now and one problem is annoying. My wlan works sometimes good and on another days totally weird.
The indicator shows 3 of 4 bars as example, but the i got no connection. When i start chrome or firefox nothing is loading. After a restart its working normally. My router works with another old toshiba notebook and my pc.
I checked with avast and anti malwarebytes my notebook and it should be clean.
I saw that toshiba updated all driver, but there are too many of them. But I dont know which ones i have to install.
Are those display driver of toshiba the same like nvidias packages or is something missing?
I want to update it too, cuz some games get better performance. Should i use nvidias driver or the ones of toshiba provided. On another threads i saw i have to update first intel and nvida driver. Is that right?
I tried some months ago to install such driver on my pc, but lenovo has own driver too and it didnt worked. I dont want to "destroy" my notebook^^
I hope someone can help. Sorry for asking again, i didnt found right forum :)

You have to take the one which is released for the Wlan card.
So what WLan card do you have? You can check this in device manager in the Network Adapters area.
Furthermore its really interesting to know what Qosmio X870-xxx do you have exactly?

T430 Intel HD4000 driver update crash and won't reinstall

I clicked Update Driver under properties for the Intel HD4000 and the laptop crashed. On reboot, the display is shown as a Generic PnP Moniter with Standard VGA Graphics Adapter also the driver for the graphic adapter shows 8-bit with a driver date from 2006. I tried to manually update the driver from the Lenovo site but it says the system doesn't support it.
The laptop is less than 30 days old. It also has the Nvidia video.

Don't use the Update Driver button in Device Manager. It doesn't really work properly. Use System Update and Windows Update.

Intel graphics driver update

I recently purchased photo processing programs from Topaz Labs to be used as a plug in for Adobe Photoshop Elements. When I tried to install, I got a message that I must have "Open GL 3.2 or later driver, and I am running Open GL 2.1.0- Build 8.15.10.2226 on a GL 45/43 Express Chipset". When I went to the Intel update website, I got a warning that HP may have changed the driver and installing the update from the Intel website may cause problems because HP may have modified the driver. Does anyone know if downloading the driver from the Intel website will cause problems?

Please post the HP product number for your PC. How to Find the HP Model Number and the HP Product Number or let HP automatically find your PC model number and HP network attached printers. This will allow others to review your issue, make suggestions and review your responses. This is usually the best way to get assistance.
HP has at times implemented propriety drivers for the HP OEM motherboards. I remember that someone else a while back had similar issues and the Intel driver made it worse. Take a manual restore point in case that you have issues.
