Satellite p55-A sounds just stops working when I listen to music or watch Netflix
Every time I listen to music about 3 songs in the sound will mute. When I turn it back up it goes back to the setting I had it on and then a little later does it again. I tried restoring the computer, turning it on and off, and tried different settings but it's still the same.
Good luck. This is a problem for many individuals. Please let me know if you find an answer. I don't know why Toshiba won't provide a solution to so many people that have this problem.

Is it a problem with the actual phone or is it some sort of glitch?If you are referring to the "speakers" along the bottom, there is only one speaker and one microphone.

If you are not getting any sound from the speaker, follow this article.

Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved, please contact Apple Support.

My iPad sound just stopped working. How can I fix that?
Have you tried restarting your iPad? Press and Hold the Power Button and Home Button for 10-15 seconds until you see the Apple Logo on the screen, and then when you see that, you can release both buttons and wait for the iPad to finish booting up. Once it comes back up try your sound again

ok..so i was on my iPod 5g listening to music and the sound just stopped working. And whenever i turn up the volume it says that there are headphones in. and my iPod is brand new. please if someone can help it would be awesome!
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

ALways love my iphone. Now itunes is ALWAYS unresponive to my iphone. Just stops working when I plug it in. downloaded older version, newer version.....use my iphone for my pdf book in college.....this is just ridiculous....
Downloaded older version and newer version of what. Any attempts to downgrade iOS are not allowed. Also, using iTunes with the latest iOS and iTunes requires the latest version.
I suggest that you remove and reinstall iTunes using this support document. You need to follow the steps exactly or you will just create more problems, which I think you already have. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 -

My sounds have stopped working for text, YouTube and music since in downloaded new software!
I'm not sure if this will help, but I went into my sounds setting and made sure that both the "vibrate on ring" and "vibrate on silent" were selected to "on." Once I did this, I was able to get the vibrating notification for a call received (as this had previously not been the case). Hope this helps.

Why does only one headphone work when i listen to music? I have to hold the base of the cord in a certain position for it to work, it does this with all headphones i try, what do i have to do?
You can try cleaning the headphone jack. However, I suspect that th headphone jack needs replacement.
Apple will only exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price.

HELP...My Sound just stopped working!
OMG What did I do? I didn't do anything. All of a sudden I noticed it stopped when I went to play a game. I have Toshiba Satellite A505-S6973. But not 15 min earlier it was working. What can I do? It's not on mute and the FN is not on mute. I just bought this laptop about a month and a half now. Nothing like this before has happened. Can anyone help me to resolve this problem? Well I don't know what it was. I tried going to applications that required sound and nothing worked. Yet my son comes and logs on to myspace and plays his music from his page and Walla it started working. I don't understand why it did this to me or why that myspace made it functional again. I even restarted my laptop first thing. Oh well I am thankful it works now. Thanks to anyone who may of been concerned.Not the first time that anomaly has been reported for the Satellite A505, Liz.

Listened to a video earlier, then went to listen to another audio type file and the sound was gone. Was not experiencing any issues. Sound just disappeared at some point. Volume is not muted anywhere. Please help.

Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu. Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete. Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

NOKIA N91 all sound just stopped working
I dont know what happened, one second everything was working fine and the next all the sound on my phone stopped working. Even the nokia start up tune isnt wokring, my phone doesnt even vibrate(it doesnt ring when someone calls or whn i get a text message, sound in games doesnt work and alarm sounds or music player sound doesnt work, it shows the song as playing but no sound comes out). i have tried every single profile and have checked my settings. I have also restarted my phone by holding the green key, "*" key, 3 key and the turn off button. This didnt fix anything...at all! I dont knowwhats going on, no water got into my phone i havent dropped it either, but its not very new, its about 2-3 years old (used to be my fathers phone but i took it from him because my old phone stopped working) and i have been using it for about a month or so!
Please help me! i have no idea what to do!
HELPPPPP!!!It looks like the phone has suffered a hardware failure. All you can do is visit a nokia care point for help. They will not be able to give you a price for the repair until they have inspected it.

I was listening to music this morning and the speakers on my iPad were working perfectly fine. Then I opened my iSleep App and used it to turn on my nighttime playlist and my alarm clock and my speakers weren't working. I tried restarting it (twice) and it didn't work.
I plugged my headphones in and sound still comes out. And I don't listen my music all the way or for very long, so I'm pretty sure the speakers didn't blow out.
Does anybody what the problem is?I can merely offer a suggestion, reset the iPad.

When I was putting together an Imovie I put music in the background and it played fine in the beginning but now when I watch it the first half of the movie plays music while the second half is silent even though I put music there as i did with the first half. So basically...the music in the second half of my movie is not playing like it used to.

Ok, so I opened imovie 08 today for the first time on my macbook pro today. I imported about 6 movies, and went to work on editing them, which was i pain because i was used to the last version, I worked for nearly 2 hours, finished the quick project and realized during playback the clip volumes were to high. So I selected them all, clicked on the audio options and brought the volume down to 40% (thinking this would apply to all).
it didnt.
So I went through every single edit and manually moved the volume down to 40% (where the heck is the apply to selected shortcut key)
Once I was finished I played the whole thing back, and got NO SOUND.
my sounds output device is a digi003 pro tools rig.
I thought this could have something to do with it.
But alas, I "skim" over the clips and the sound plays! so its not my output its something in the dang imovie!
PLEASE HELP i am an excellent troubleshooter and have already searched all over the web to find the same problem.

pleeeeeease helpOkay so I have a Digi 002 and I am having same problem. I called support and they were very helpful... they seem to have solved the problem except that when I rebooted computer (after hanging up the phone) the problem returned. Here's what we did although I don't recommend it because it wipes out all of your projects and now reopen them. HEY APPLE? HOW ABOUT THIS? IF IT AINT BROKE DON'T FIX IT!!! In the finder window choose "go" and then choose home, now go to library, then choose preferences, then choose a file called com.apple.iMovie7.plist. Drag this to your trash bin. When you reopen imovie try to play a movie and the sound should work. Here's the catch. When I did this all of my projects were gone as well as recent raw data downloads. They still exist in the projects/events folders I JUST CAN'T IMPORT THEM!!! (The projects any way) All fades graphics, hours of work! All gone. Bye Bye many hours of my life that I can never get back! Thanks APPLE! So each time I want to work on something I have to waste a 1/2 hour reloading video and then I had better get it right the first time or forget it! Any one else as frustrated with this as I am??? PLEASE RESPOND!

My IPOD Touch just stop working - I was listening to music and it stop. I cannot power it down or re-start it. The time is correct and that is I can see at the top of the screen of the IPOD along with the battery info
Try resetting:
Hold both the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.
