Satellite P775 - Recorded audio sounds like it's underwater

Based on similar posts it sounds like a driver issue. I don't want to install the wrong driver, naturally. Thanks.

  • IMovie 10 - audio sounds like it's underwater

Just upgraded to iMovie 10 from 2011 version (iMovie 10 is not in the product list yet, so I'm posting here in hopes of getting some help). I like most of the new iMovie, but having a terrible time with audio after export. When I go to SHARE > TO DISK or ITUNES, the output file sounds like it's underwater or in t a tin can maybe . Hopfully it's a simple fix that I haven't stumbled on yet, but I'm wondering if anyone else is having this issue and how to fix it. The sound is correct when played in iMovie 10. Thanks, Kevin
My CPU specs if that's helpful:
    - OSX 10.9
    - 2.8 GHz intel Core i7
    - 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

I've just discovered this issue, too.  Using m4v file created using handbrake from a DV AVI file.  Audio sounds fine if video is played in VLC, but sound awful in iMovie sounding like there's a strange echo type issue.
    cheers

  • When I record video on my iphone 4 the audio sounds like it is muffled and is not as loud as it should be?

when I record video on my iphone 4 the playback of the audio sounds like it is muffled and is not as loud as it should be? I have had the phone for 2 years and the last time I had used it to record a video was in July of this year. The sound came out crisp and clear. Now when ever I play back videos the audio is muffled and at a lower volume than it should sound like. I have the volume set all the way up when I record and my hands are not covering the microphone and/or near to affect the audio playback.

It worked!!!!! Thank you. I didn't know there was a microphone at the top. I knew the hole was there but I didn't know what it was for. Thank you so much. \m/ ROCK ON!!

  • My Webcam is not recording correctly.  When recording directly to youtube, the audio sounds like a robot.  It was not doing that when I first got my new MacBook Air last month.  What do I do to fix it?

My built-in Webcam is not recording correctly.  When recording directly to youtube (upload), the audio sounds like a robot.  It was not doing that when I first got my new MacBook Air last month.  What do I do to fix it?
I have tested it over several days with different internet connections...and have done it with another notebook computer on the same connection and it the video uploaded and recorded fine.  I can also use the video webcam with Google Hangouts and it records and works fine.  So I know the problem is not internet connection...and apparantly not even the webcam or mic.

Try using Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

  • Making a sound recorded inside sound like it is heard from outside

    Hi there,
I am trying to make a sound recorded inside sound like it is heard from outside (in the street). Any suggestion about a good filter?
    Thanks,
    JCD

    - I hope the inside recording didn't have too much reverberation or 'room tone' (imagine recording it in a washroom). The indoors sound needs to be flat (no echo from walls, no background sound)
    - Reverb puts dead sound into a space with walls. You can add reverb, but you can't take it away. If your character is on a football pitch but you record the dialog in a washroom, it's not going to work. If your scene is in the Louvre, and your talent is recorded in a voice-over booth (or in a car or in the bedroom surrounded by blankets - hey it works), you can add the reverb.
    - Cut out a lot of the bass frequencies. Nice clean indoor sound has too much of it. The Big Outdoors lacks the reflectors that makes for big boomy sound (remember, big sound can 'sit on the shoulder' of the viewer)
    - Add location sound, so if your visual location is windswept moors, then lots of wind noise on the mic. If it's city, then lots of traffic hum, tyre noise, sudden car horns and stuff. Take your VO and pull out the bass, and you're 'there'.
    - Match camera perspective to voice perspective. If you did a close mic in a quiet room my guess is that the talent spoke softly and in a measured fashion, so your outdoor shots must be similar OR strikingly different (as if we're seeing into their mind).
    - If you need talent to deliver outdoor lines in voice-over (quiet room) for a frenetic environment, mic them up 'distant' and get them to speak loudly. Position yourself (the interviewer) a long way away from the interviewee. Mic them up with a Lav, but make out you're using on-camera mics, so they have to speak up.
    - If you're doing foley with amateurs, get them to replay the part with a radio lav (they think it's backup, it's your main) and put the biggest mic you can find as the main mic. Sometimes people need something to act to, and a lav does not cut it.

  • Emailed File of Voice-over sounds Like it's Underwater

    Hi,
My wife just began a voice over career and just got her first gig. She recorded files over GarageBand and emailed them to the client. When we listen to them on her system, they sound great. But after e-mailing, she sounds like she's underwater or muzzled.
Is there a compression setting that we're missing? Hoping someone has some experience with this.
    Thanks so much.
    P Smith

A digital audio file shouldn't change just because you emailed it. Could be the other parties computer settings or player. You should ask them what format and settings they want the file in.
Also instead of emailing files you may want to think about another way of sending audio files. Maybe a ftp server so your clients can download them from the net and files size won't start to become a issue.

  • Sounds like I am underwater on calls (iphone4)

Hi, Can anyone help me please- this is driving me mad now!
When I am on a call my phone is more and more frequently making a sound which sounds like crackling / bubbling underwater and I can't hear the person at the other end at all and have to hang up and recall. (they can't hear me either)
The call connects OK and it is after a short while that I have the problem.
I have tried resetting my phone, but nothing seems to be working... I need to have the 3G/wi-fi on at all times as it is a work phone and I have to have cobstant access to my e-mails. Not sure if this could be causing the problem?
I have only had my phone about 7 months (from O2) is it still covered by any sort of warrenty if the problem can't be fixed? (I don't have specific phone insurance, only through my house insurance)
Would really appreciate any ideas.... Thanks

Me too. i'm with O2 also and I've had my phone replaced 3 times, followed all the advice provided by Apple and I still get this issue. Set up as a new phone, NOT restored from backup, changed simcards and not installed apps but it still occurs.
No one seems to be able to provide an answer and this is getting to be more than just an annoyance now. Happens everyday....regardless of whether i'm calling a landline or mobile and from all over the country.
I'm hoping that someone from Apple can provide some answers as i'm starting to lose faith in my iPhone4.
It doesnt make sense to keep replacing the handset...i've been through 4 handsets now and not a single one of them has been mishandled or dropped.
Anyone got any solutions or answers to this problem? Good to know that i'm not the only one!!

  • Audio sounds like broken record

When I open the project, some audio clips will be fine for the beginning, but at some point will have one second repeated over and over again for the remainder of the clip. When played back, it sounds like a broken record. The actual files are fine, when I check the clips on my hard drive they're normal. But when I open the project, they are corrupted. And it happens to different clips each time I open the project. Even when I import the same file again, it will be corrupted in the same spot. Any ideas?

    Try updating your audio driver.

  • Audio sounds like "Alvin & the Chipmunks"

I have Toshiba Satellite L445D-S5976.  I've tweaked and tried repair on the audio, but it says nothing is wrong, or can't detect problems, yet everything still sounds like High Speed sounds.
Anyone that could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Maybe this one?

Can't hurt to reinstall the driver.

  • Import imovie audio - sounds like donald duck...

    Hello,
I imported an imovie soundtrack that I made recently (from my camcorder). The audio track sounds high pitched, donald duck like. what am I doing wrong ?
Also, I want to process the imovie track to remove some echo that was present in the room during recording. What is the easiest method to reduce/remove this - if possible?
    Thanks - Max

The pitch and tempo issue sounds like a sample rate problem, but I thought iMovie audio was recorded at 48K which would make it play lower and slow in GB. For background on this:

You can play with the Gate effect to cut out software sounds, but that would only be during the silent passages.

  • Imported audio: sounds like cartoon mice 48KHz vs. 44.1 KHz vs. .mp3

Does anyone know if the following can be fixed:
I inserted some new slides and imported new .mp3 audio clips into CP4.  When played slide by slide the audio sounds as I would expect.  When published, however, the audio on the new slides play at about double speed to the others.  The v/o artiste now sounds like a cartoon mouse.
    So what's different?
I used a different recorder.  I recorded at 48KHz and rendered at the same (in Reaper), before converting to .mp3.  Yes, I know I should have used 44.1 but the file was going to be converted outside of Captivate in any case to .mp3 (and I forgot).
In the audio Manager I can see that the 'old' files that play OK were imported as .wav. Captivate can convert these.  The .mp3 files appear as 48KHz sample rate, even though I coverted to .mp3.
I have a feeling I may need to re-record the clips to 44.1.  Or is there are a way of converting 48KHz files to sound OK at 44.1 KHz?  Any ideas?

    Hi,
I am not sure if yo are experiencing this issue in Adobe Captivate 5 version or older.
If you see this issue in Captivate 5, then this issue is handled in an upgrade patch available -
Please read more details and download the patch from here -
    http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2010/08/patch-for-adobe-captivate-5-to-resolve-upgrade-re lated-issues.html
This should solve your issue if you are on Captivate 5.

  • Audio sounds like a chipmunk

Once in awhile while recording audio and a demo at the same time, the audio will speed up and sound like a chipmunk upon playback. I have been using both Windows 7 and Windows XP and both seem to have the same issue. It mostly occurs when clicking from one function of a website or clicking within a software program while demoing. Any ideas as to what the cause might be?

    Hi,
Could you please tell the version of your Captivate? any additonal details regarding recording mode, settings, devices etc?
    Please try-
-- to use a different external device to record again, I believe you used same device on both XP and 7 machines?
-- record just the Audio for a few slides -- Audio -- Record to Slides/Project
-- Do a test record for a different application as well, just to confirm, it has nothing to do with website.
    Thanks!

  • Xperia Z2 Cannot record audio sound louder than a bird chirping without distortion!!

Seriously Sony My Nokia 808 Pureview recorded Loud Concerts perfectly!!! Amazing that i spent 450 Euros on the new Z2 Xperia and the audio recording isnt bad is ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC!! Why have 4K Video if u cant record the sound. Even at a sports event it sounds Horrible... I NEVER had this problem on my Nokia Pureview... PLEASE FIX THIS!!! IT is totally unacceptable for a Flagship device!!

Because the CEO of Nokia is a moron that should have put ANDROID in the Pureview and that would sell a million units!!
But lastly Windows phone has NO let me repeat NO good apps!! If the Apps were equal, I would have absolutely no issue with getting a Nokia Lumia ahnds down!...You cant even get Tinder on a Windows phone!

  • Headphone audio sounds like it's coming out of a hole?

Two days ago, I downloaded a radio app to my 2nd gen iPod touch. Sounded fine for a while, then suddenly faded. I could hear the music just fine, but the voices were so quiet I could barely hear them. I switched over to regular music and it did the same thing. I fiddled around with my headphones, thinking they were dying, and got it to work by pressing the jack into my ipod hard, putting pressure on it. I figured it was just old headphones and went and bought another pair.
But it's still doing it. Brand new headphones and they only work when I put a crushing pressure onto the jack. What's going on here?

I can't be sure, but it sounds like you have a bad contact in your headphone port. I would take it to an Apple Store to get a new one or call AppleCare to have it replaced.

  • Does Satellite X200 support surround sound like 5.1

Does my x200 20T have surround sound like 5.1 ?

You are right, it supports 2x main + 2x tweeter and 1x harman kardon subwoofer.
So it can create a kind of surround. But can I connect the laptop to a amplifier to use the real suround speakers in the living room ?
I can buy this headset with inbuilt surround speakers. The connections for the headset is USB. The real questions is: Do I get surround like 5.1 through the USB connection ?
