Satellite P850 - Media lag while listning on spotify or seing a movie

Hi
While I'm listening on spotify or seing a movie, theres a small lag in both audio and picture every 10 or 20 minute.
I bought this laptop 3 days ago and haven't used it that much. Any idea how I can fix this?
Could it be something wrong in the hardware and what do I do in that case?
The support asked me to have high power performance and so on. I have even rebooted the computer to what it was in the beginning but nothing have worked.
Per

It have come to my knowledge that high DPC is the problem. That I have to disable the power management of the WiFi Network adapter in Device Manager. However, I can't find the solution to how I'm going to do this.
The driver that is causing my problem is called ndis.sys - NDIS 6.20-driver, Microsoft Corporation
(That's what the program LatencyMon is telling me anyway)'
Anyone know what I'm supposed to do?
Thanks

On this virtual way it is not easy to say what the problem is but, to be honest I dont think it is hardware related issue.
Maybe this small lag is result of some background activities. I dont know how you have configured your notebook and what is running in the background but you can make test and sop some useless background activities before you start video player.
    Which antivirus do you use?

  • No bootable device message appears on my Satellite P850-30P

my laptop model is: SATELLITE P850-30P
When i turn on my laptop, it displays something very similar texts as follow:
    "Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build 082)
    Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
    For Realtek RTL8101E/8102E PCI-E Ethernet Controller v.105 (071227)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
    PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM
No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key"
I read that i should try to get into bios, however, i cant get into bios. i have tried f2, del, esc, f12 (default key to get into bios for my laptop) I have also tRied Fn f2, Fn f12. none works.
I havE tried taken out th harddrive and repeat th same trials as above, still cant get into bios.
i have also tried taking the battery out and press the start button for 30 second, and replace the battery. still no luck.
i havE also triEd connEcting my external harddisk via usb but stillthE sAme messages.
    Could someone please help?

The F2 button is the right one!
You have to press F2 while powering on the unit!
As mentioned by BobRock; press it several times in the row!
In some cases you need to press INS button and then F2 to access the BIOS. This is required for some units when supervisor password has been set.
By the way: the PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable message appears because the notebook tried to boot from LAN. Usually this happens in case the HDD cannot be found. Mostly because of HDD hardware problem

  • Satellite P850 - question about Infrared port

    Hi,
I have Windows 8 Pro installed onto my laptop and I've downloaded all the drivers and everything is working fine apart from the Infrared. I've searched all over the internet and I can't find a remote control to use with this laptop (including the Toshiba website).
I've installed the latest ENE CIR Driver (v4.1) as well as the Toshiba Remote Control Manager (v3.1.0.1). I looked in Program Files to open the Toshiba Remote Control Manager however when I click on the program to open it... Nothing happens (including in the notification area).
So my question is can I actually get a remote working with this laptop at all and if not then what is this Infrared port for because I can't find anything on my computer to actually use it with/for?!
    Thanks for your help :p

    Hi
Some Satellite P850 models are equipped with the remote controller and its possible to use the remote controller with Windows Media Center to play discs or videos, to view pictures and to watch recorded TV programs.
Models which dont include the a remote controller are *NOT* equipped with the an infrared receiver so the notebook cannot be operated with a remote controller.
The remote controller was not part of the package so your notebook does not support infrared receiver and therefore the installation of ENE CIR Driver and Toshiba Remote Control Manager was useless

  • Can't activate Win 8 after removing everything from Satellite P850

I did Remove everything and reinstall Windows 8.
    Like as Factory setting.
But i can't activate Windows. The product key doesn't work.
The Windows 8 K OME on my Toshiba Satellite P850.
    Thanks.
    Cheers mate.

    Hi
The product key at the bottom of the unit would not work!
The preinstalled Windows 8 would be activated automatically while booting and configuring the system for the first time!
Did you format the whole HDD? Did you remove the Windows 8 from the HDD?
Did you create an recovery disk or recovery flash memory stick in the past?
    NO?
In such case there is only one option to get factory settings.
You will need to order the Toshiba recovery disk:

  • Satellite P850 Recovery Error: 0003

I've tried to restore my Toshiba Satellite P850 to out-of-the-box state. I ordered the Product Recovery Media directly from Toshiba. Following the 4-part dvd initialisation and file-copying process, the recovery wizard attempts to install Windows 8 onto the hard drive. Approximately 70% through, the process fails and displays:
    Error: 0003
    Recovery error.
Please prees [OK] to turn off the computer.
Hard drive (WinDFT) and memory tests (MemTest86) have passed. Multiple installation attempts - each failed. Complete format and repeated installation also failed.
Is there an issue with the recovery media? Could the hard drive require replacement (despite WinDFT passing)?
    Any help truly appreciated.
    Solved!

    eagle3,
For completeness, and anyone experiencing the error issues mentioned above, we've finally come to a conclusion.
With replacement of HDD seeming more and more likely, I replaced the HDD with an existing (smaller) SATA drive i had at home, this would act as the test case to determine whether purchase of a new drive would be worthwhile?
Utilising recovery media, the process was smooth, efficient and seamless. Most importantly, error free.
The drawback is the user will need to replace the hard disk.
I want to thank you for all your suggestions as well as assistance.

I have same Problem. I tried all options - Reset All Settings, Erase Content & reset all settings, Upgrated to IOS8.1, Restore using iTune. But problem persists.
When I turn Cellular Data or Wifi ON, then there is a lag while opening the Apps. But If I turn Data/Wifi off, phone becomes super fast. I have checked with my friends. They are not facing this issue. Not sure if Apple know this.

  • Satellite P850-31L thinks Intel HD GPU driver is old after Win 8.1 upgrade

    Hi there,
I have had my Satellite P850-31L since last year and recently updated to windows 8.1.
This laptop has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M graphics card and it use to say that on my dxdiag.
Since updating to windows 8.1 my laptop seems to think I have a Intel HD Graphics 4000 and apparently it's out of date.
When I go on their site to test for the update.
I got told my graphics card is 'up to date' yet every thing else - including my toshiba driver manager says it's out of date.
I've tried updating yet I keep getting a message saying my system setting aren't good enough.
Anyne got any suggestions on what i can do.
Can I get my laptop to stop thinking it has a intel graphics when it has the NVIDEA chip

    > defterniko
After Windows 8.1 upgrade you should visit the Toshiba EU driver page and should update the drivers and utilities to the Windows 8.1 version.
Most people forget to do that they update the system from Windows 8 to Win 8.1 but dont update the drivers.
As mentioned by user IronMan; the installation instruction which is available on the Toshiba EU driver page shows you the driver and tool which needs to be updated and you should also follow the installation order mentioned in this instruction.

    can anyone offer any incite?

    Take a look here:
    [SATELLITE P850-138 specs|http://www.toshiba.co.uk/discontinued-products/satellite-p850-138/]
The Satellite P850-138 has been equipped with the graphic card NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M with CUDA Technology and NVIDIA Optimus Technology
The notebook was equipped also the 2nd generation Intel Core i3-2350M Processor
This CPU supports an internal Intel HD 3000 graphic chip and therefore you can see Intel HD GPU 3000 in device manager.

  • AirPort drops off continually while listening to Spotify, how do i solve this issue?

Airport drops off continually while listening to Spotify, how do i fix this?

    Hello @Kelly45!
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I can see your printer is showing offline when it is in fact online.  The first thing I suggest is to remove the power from the printer and the router and restart the computer.  After 20 seconds plug the router and printer back in and see if you still experience the issue.  I also suggest moving the router or printer so they are 5-10 feet apart.  Too close and too far away may cause odd connection issues.  You will also want to ensure the router is not next to speakers or a TV.  Other electronics can effect Wi-Fi signal as well.
If you are still experiencing the issue then it may be software related.  I recommend uninstalling the HP software. After the uninstall is complete it would be a good idea to perform a disk cleanup in the computer. A disk cleanup will improve computer performance and clear temporary files that may cause issues during the install of software. Once the disk cleanup is complete you should restart the computer and re-install the HP software.
To uninstall HP software click here: Uninstalling HP Software
To perform a disk cleanup click here: Performing a Disk Cleanup
To download the HP software click here: HP Software and Driver (Click "Download" next to HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver)

  • Buying new HDTV but don't want lag while gaming

    Hi all.
So I'm getting a new HDTV soon, and I want to connect my ps3 and xbox 360 to it. I'm getting the LG 47LH90 (47" 1080p 240 Hz) and I'm getting the Monster Cable HDMI 114013-00
(THX 1000)  for my ps3 to play movies and such. Thing is, I also want to try Halo 3 online on the TV (I've heard playing Halo on bigger TV's is bad for your aim but I at least want to try).
So my question is will this HDMI cable I'm getting give me any screen lag while trying to play Halo? (Yes, I have an elite so the 360 has an HDMI port) I've heard people say that VGA cables are also good but if this HDMI cable I have works I want to know if I'll be able to use that so I don't have to buy another cable for nothing. Thanks for responding.

    HDMI cable link <http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Monster+Cable+-+THX+1000+4%27+HDMI+A/V+Cable/9345693.p?id=1218088187400&...>

If you are gonna use an HDTV, you will have to accept lag. Your best bet is to go with a 60hz LCD or plasma, which you can easily still get. None of that 120hz nonsense. But, what you can do is get any ole HDTV and use the Microsoft VGA cable instead of the HDMI. That will do a lot to reduce your lag to the minimal amount because HDTVs don't use image processing on VGA signals and the newer TVs actually support full 1080p over VGA. Your milage will vary though and you should check the manual of any TV you are considering in order to see what resolutions it supports over VGA so you don't make a blind-buy of the wrong thing.

  • Incredible lag while moving a group of layers

Since PS CS6 I've noticed this idiotic bug (which is also present in PS CC)... I have this incredible lag while I move a group of layers... the lag isn't present if I select and move all the layers in the group at once which should basically be the same thing.
I see that this happens if the group I want to move is located under another group with some layer styles applied like Drop Shadow.
Here's a link to a test file that I've made.
    How to reproduce the lag:
    - scale the canvas at 100%;
    - try to move the Red layer group and you will see the lag I'm talking about;
    - now select and move the layer inside the Red group... lag is gone!
    - now move the Fixed Group under the Red Group;
    - move again the Red group in the Layers Panel and you'll see that the lag is gone once again.
Please let me know if any of you can reproduce the experience I've described above using my test file.
My system is a Lenovo Y500 laptop with a i7 3630QM CPU, 8 GB of DDR3, intel SSD and an Nvidia GeForce 650M graphic card, running Windows 8.1 with all the latest drivers and updates.

Hey Chris... did you had the time to checkout my test file? I'm really curious if also experience the same like.

I have Satellite P850 - I renewed my Kaspersky Internet Security and did Windows update for 8.1 64bit. Now I have no Wireless LAN driver. I can only connect to internet with ethernet cable.
