Satellite P875-31Z - Cannot remove McAfee Security Center

Hey there, I have a slight problem, and so far, I haven't been able to solve it.
I was helping a friend who isn't as tech savvy as me purchase a laptop, and he bought the Satellite P875-31Z.
Now, it comes with McAfee software preloaded.
I was able to uninstall most of the unwanted Mcafee software, but the McAfee Security Center just doesn't want to go away.
It doesn't show up in the windows 8 "remove a program"-list, it doesn't show up in the windows store app list, and even the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool (MCPR) doesn't get rid of it. Well, it at least got rid of the tile-picture, now it's just a blank tile.
Is it part of some Toshiba software and I'd have to remove some software that is also crucial for the proper working of, say, the function keys?
Drives me slightly mad, first time I couldn't get rid of software ^^

Im really wondering you have this problem. On my Win8 preinstalled Satellite notebook under Programs and Features there are two entries for McAffe:
McAffe Anti-Theft and McAffe internet Security. I presume the same must be on this P875 too.
What must be done is removal of McAffe Internet security. After notebook restart remove McAffe Anti-Theft and uninstall McAffe Security advisor placed on the desktop (right mouse click). Thats all.
Ive done the same.

Having the same issue after downloading the lastest version of itunes. Apple is going to lose me as a customer, if this keeps up with their software updates. They never seem to work.
Really, they should want me to be able to access their store. That's money out of their pocket.
Honestly, I don't know why Apple doesn't have a techie monitering their support threads trying to help fix issues.
I don't have McAffee, so that wouldn't be my issue. I guess, I'll keep checking back to see if anyone has figured anything out.

Removing McaFee Security scan plus

You snuck in McAfee security scan plus in with flash player update. How do I get rid of it, it doe not want to uninstall! I wanted the flash player update because I got tired of being hassled about it, I did not want this other JUNK! Keep your products separate from others.

Visually:
Start>Control Panel
Programs and Features>Uninstall a Program
Uninstall McAfe Security Scan from the list and Close the Control Panel.
Registry Editor (Press the Windows key + R and type "regedit" then click OK)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software
Delete the McAfee folder by right clicking and choosing delete
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE
Delete the McAfee folder by right clicking and choosing delete.
THAT will completely remove McAfee Security Scan from your system. You should reboot after ANY registry changes.

Web service: Cannot remove WSS security setting

i have a problem about developing web service with jdeveloper 10.1.3.1
The problem is that ---> once i have add the security to the web service
(through the web service wizard .. i,e, right click the web service and
select "Secure Web Service'), i CANNOT REMOVE the security setting using
the web service wizard...
call the web service always say missing wsse:Security SOAP header..
do anybody have the solution?

the issue is still there in 10.1.3.3, and it must be somewhere on JDeveloper or OC4J side. Moreover, it's not limited to removing security settings, as the situation (old settings remembered) is the same when editing security settings.
lsp,
before regenerating a web service and its xml files (editing security properties), make sure you have cleaned the project and then you can try deleting the oracle-webservices.xml file from your project directory, because JDeveloper does not seem to be willing to overwrite it during regeneration.
If this does not help and you are using embedded OC4J, you can try the following steps before running the web service again:
- delete the embedded-oc4j/application-deployments/current-workspace-app directory, because it contains an oracle-webservices.xml file which may be outdated,
- empty the contents of embedded-oc4j/config/wsmgmt.xml, because it contains security settings for web services you have deployed so far, which also may be outdated,
- restart JDeveloper :)
Note that these are just guesses to solve the problem. Unfortunately doing all of these did not solve it for me.
So if anybody has some more ideas, we'll be happy to hear them.

Recommended Security Suite for Firefox 25. Using Mcafee Security Center ver 12.8, wondering if I should change to Bitdefender or Kaspersky? Any suggestion

Have 2 Win 8 machines, running Firefox 25 and one lap top with Win 7. All three are using Mcafee Security Suite ver 12.8 with Anti Virus 16.8. The subscription runs out in February 2014. I would like to make a change and am concerned about compatibility issues using Firefox ver 25. Are there any compatibility issues with Bitdefender Windows 8 Security? Are there any compatibility issues with Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 or Pure 3.0 Total Security? If I do make a change on the Security Suites, I will be using the same version on the Win 8 and the Win 7 machines. All three will be using Firefox 25. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Firefox doesn't have any known compatibility issues with any of the major anti-virus suites, but honestly you are wasting your money if you pay for them. Uninstall them and use Window 8's built in Windows Defender. Update your Windows 8 machines to Windows 8.1, and make sure your win 7 machine is up to date, and always keep everything on your machines (Firefox, plugins, etc.) all up to date. That will keep you secure as possible.

Cannot remove McAfee trial from my brand new Satellite C660D

Got a Satellite C660D yesterday and can't find a way to remove the mcafee trial. I have free mcafee from BT and have tried downloading it but it fails to install. Tried mcafee removal tool but that fails, tried changing uac no good. Straight forward removal from control panal uninstall fails as does the use of ccleaner and other tools???
Anyone any ideas?

After changing UAC back, restarting about 8 times and the same amount of attempts at installing the BT Mcafee program it finally worked. I had at one stage even tried removing all references to mcafee with regedit.
Put the trial back on using restore then about 5 tries later it loaded?

I updated from Firefox 4.0.1 to 5.0 and cannot access McAfee security

I updated yesterday from Firefox 4.0.1 to 5.0 and I have McAfee Total Protection and now when I access McAfee it is just a white blank screen and I can't access system restore it it also just a white blank screen. I removed Mozilla from programs and still same with system restore and McAfee. Can someone tell me in detail how to fix this?

I did this with the Windows de-installer and it did not work. Is there something more I need to do? Does Mozilla have a program for removing its software that is more complete?

Hi guys, this is REALLY annoying me so please if you can help
Some company ("SMART SECURITY" to be specific") has installed their add as an active WEBPAGE in place of my WALLPAPER ... please see this picture:

It loads when my windows starts i.e. along with other programs in RAM such as MSN messenger, CoreCenter, McAfee security center etc i have managed to track the webpage, it is stored in C:\Windows\Desktop.htm
Now i have tried numerous way to rid of it but i can't:
1. I checked my dekstop wallpaper, it is still set to 'none' and even if i change it the webpage on my desktop still does not appear.
2. I checked my 'msconfig' startup options however there doesnt seem to be ANY launch program that is running the above path
3. Add/Remove programs has no program logged for it aswell.
Where can i find the startup details for this bloody webpage so i can stop it replacing my desktop and making my games jump every time it refreshes? (every15seconds!), or even uninstall it [i have tried the company website but they have no inidication of getting rid or even installing it!]

If other suggestions here have not worked for you, I suggest trying the program HijackThis, which you can download here. I have successfully used HijackThis in the past to remove spyware infections that neither AdAware or SpyBot could recognize. The trick is, though, that HijackThis requires more knowledge of the internals of Windows in order to properly use it than do AdAware or Spybot. HijackThis will let you remove perfectly legititmate components from your system just as easily as spyware, so be careful and remove items at your own risk.
If you want help interpreting the list HijackThis generates before you remove anything, save a copy of the log and post it in this thread for suggestions. Good luck!

Security center on Satellite C660 showing poor

I have Toshiba Satellite C660 laptop. Purchase on 09/01/2011. I switch of my computer and when I again on I just open Toshiba bulletin. There have system health, security center showing poor. but if 2 minutes on my computer then automatic its showing good. \my McAfee security is ok. but I don't understand where is the problem. Can u inform _*me why security center showing poor when my computer switch is of.*_

Thanks for the question. After you change your Apple ID, you’ll want to follow these directions for updating the iCloud account on iOS devices:

iOS 6 and later: Go to Settings > iCloud.
- If you signed out before changing your Apple ID, enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download to your device.
- If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID:
1. Scroll down and tap Delete Account. Depending on what iCloud options are turned on, you'll be asked to confirm that you want to delete data from your device. To confirm, tap Delete. (If you're using iOS 7 and have Find My iPhone turned on, you'll be asked to enter the password for your previous Apple ID. Enter the password, then tap Turn Off.) The data will be deleted from your device, but not from iCloud.
2. Enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download again to your device.

I am unable to connect to the iTunes Store. This issue began yesterday, 3/11/13. I previously have been able to connect to the store successfully on this computer which runs Windows 7 and Security Center since November. I also used the iTunes Store on my previous computer for several years. I am able to connect to the store with my new iPod Touch 5th generation. I did a Google search for Error Code -1202 but did not find any pertinent results. I would greatly appreciate any assistance in troubleshooting this situation. Thank you!
