Satellite Pro A300 shows blue screen error 8086...

Hi,
today laptop produced a Microsoft error message (Didn't see what it was) and it said to restart laptop.
On restart blue screen error message appeared. 0x00008086
Thanks
Paul

Hi
Did you get this BSOD only once as yet?
Maybe its just a driver issue so check the device manager for any problems.
Normally BSODs are related to RAM or HDD. You can test both components using a special test tools like Memtest86 and Drive Fitness Test. You can use Google to find both freeware programs.

  • Satellite L505-13W shows Blue screen error

My laptop SATELLITE L505-13W Shows blue screen error.
The os gets booted up and after some time it shows a blue screen error and restarts.
On restart it asks for repair, even after succesfull repair it showed the same error.
So i tried to recover using the recovery cd but it proved to be a tragedy.
It eraced my full HDD to stone age and smiled at me saying recovery is not possible.
    please help me.......

    Hi
If the notebook cannot be recovered using the recovery disk, then all this smells like hardware problem.
Are you sure that your recovery disk is OK?
Did you try to install the OS using other installation disk?
Maybe this would be useful to check if the issue might be related to the faulty recovery disk but if the BSOD (blue screen of death) appeared before the OS installation, then I would say the issue might be caused by internal hardware malfunction
It would be necessary to check the RAM modules and the HDD.
HDD can be checked using the HDD diagnostic software like Drive Fitness Test (freeware)
RAM could be checked using a tools like memtest but you need a running systemso in this case you cannot check the RAM using a software I recommend removing one module and testing the notebook using one module in each slot

Usually the BSOD appears due to the serious software issue or hardware malfunction.
In my opinion its a software (driver) issue.
I presume the BSOD appears why playing some games in most cases the graphic driver must be updated.
If the XP driver from the Toshiba page will not help you could try the graphic drivers from the www.omegadrivers.net site. The 3rd party drivers should run on your notebook. But note; 3rd party drivers can be used only at your own risk!
    > Why standard display drivers from ati.com do not work? (While on my friends laptop with also hd2600 mobility radeon works fine).
The original ATI drivers cannot be installed on a easy way because such drivers dont support an overheating protection. The Toshiba GPU drivers are a little bit modified and support an overheating protection. Such protection is necessary and important because the notebook graphic cards are not equipped with huge cooling module like the GPUs on for the desktop PCs.
The temperature increases on the notebooks much faster and therefore the graphic driver have to control the GPU performance to decrease the internal temperature.
Therefore its always advisable and recommended to use the Toshiba drivers ;)

    Hi
Generally speaking the BSOD is a product of software or hardware problem.
So its not easy to say whats wrong exactly.
    Just view questions;
Did you try a new OS installation?
Did you update any drivers (especially graphic card driver?)
Is your BIOS up to date?
Did you notice a higher internal temperature?
Are the cooling modules free of dust?
    Please check this firstly!

  • Com shows blue screen error message when ipod touch is plug in

    hey, anyone has this problem?
when i plug in my ipod touch, a message "new hardware is found" with name (still digital cam). then the com switches to a blue screen with error messages.
i need some help please.. thanks

One cause of this is that you have saved a picture on your Touch when browsing the internet on Safari (by holding down on the image & selecting save). These saved images seem to cause a glitch and the PC thinks you have plugged a digital camera in causing the PC to crash. Don't know of an actual fix yet. The only work around is to delete the pics prior to plugging in the Touch. If you really want the pic just email it to yourself via wifi first. Funnily enough it is not a problem if the pic was on your pc and you synced it to the Touch via iTunes.

  • Satellite A100 - sptd.sys blue screen error

    Hello,
Hoping someone can be of help with this.
I have a Toshiba A100 with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.
When I try to boot up my computer, I get a message saying windows did not start successfully.
I am given the options of:
    Safe Mode
    Safe Mode with Networking
    Safe Mode with Command Prompt
    Last Known Good Configuration
    Start Windows Normally
None of these options works. When I attempt Safe Mode, I get the following message:
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition\Windows\system32. ...etc
This message repeats over and over again very fast, each time with a different .sys file at the end. Then, I get this message:
Press Esc to stop loading sptd.sys...
If I press escape, I get the following blue screen:
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
The problem seems to be caused by the following file: sptd.sys
The driver mistakenly marked a part of its image pagable instead of nonpagable.
I dont know what to do except for using the product recovery CDs and reformatting, but I cant afford to lose some of the data on my computer, and this would wipe it all.
Has anyone had experience with this? Any advice?
    It would be much appreciated.

    Hi
Seems the OS system or the partition, where the OS has been installed, is corrupt.
I have no idea why this happened but there are many different reasons for that
Anyway I think you have no other choice as to reinstall the OS using the recovery disk.
You would like to get access to the data on the HDD???
Well, you could remove the HDD from the notebook and could connect it as an external USB device to another computer. Then you should try to copy the data to another HDD.
    That might help

  • Satellite L300-20D shows Blue Screen at start-up

My sons laptop has recently started to blue screen. When booting up now the startup repair runs for around 15mins but finaly goes to blue screen and goes no further.
He does not have a boot disc.
Is there any way of repairing this without taking it to PC World? Laptop is arond 9 months old so still has some warranty left but PC World advise this does not cover this kind of problem.

On this way it is not possible to offer some exact explanation why this happen. What you can try is to start operating system in Safe mode. Start your notebook and press F8 several times. In Advanced boot options you can find this option.
If operating system starts properly try to roll back OS to earlier time using System restore tool.
At the end you can try to install OS again using HDD recovery option - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

    *Sorry for poor english

Without the Minidump Files to help us isolate the cause of the errors you are experiencing there is no way to provide assistance specific to your situation.
One of the most common causes of errors are drivers. You have already mentioned that you have upgraded your graphics driver to the latest version provided by the manufacturer, updating other drivers like network, chipset, and storage controllers is a good
next step. If no driver updates resolve your issue and you have already looked into security software as a possible cause, another direction to take would be to review your hardware for possible failures. You can diagnose your memory by
entering “Diagnose your computer’s memory problems” at the start screen and selecting the result. You can also diagnose your storage devices by
right clicking the storage device in File Explorer, selecting properties, and selecting Error Checking.

  • Blue screen error message on Satellite Pro A10

    Hi,
I'm trying to help my inlaws with their Satellite Pro SPA10. I had set this up for them a few months ago and it was running really well.
Now it restarts about two seconds past the "use last good configuration" etc. screen, gets to this screen again then restarts immediately ad infinitum, never pausing on the error mesage for long enough to see what it says.
I managed to get it to boot from the windows XP home disc and got as far as the repair or continue with installation screen. When I asked the computer to do either it crashes to blue screen almost immediately. The error message is
    *** STOP: 0x000000c5 (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x8082B98B)
This is beyond my level of expertise, can anyone help?
    Thanks

Hi Mike thank you for replying,
I am not able to start the computer in safe mode, safe mode with networking, last good known configuration etc, Each time it quickly blue screens and restarts about two secs into the process.
I was unable to try a clean OS install from the disk as it gave the blue screen error shown in the original post. The same thing happened when I tried to use the repair option on the XP home disc. So i can't get into the computer at all to start diagnosing the fault, the only clue I have is the error message, and after searching the internet I haven't found much enlightenment from that yet.
If you can help me out or suggest where to search it would be much appreciated.
    Thx

  • Sat Pro A60: Blue screen error

I have had my satellite pro A60 laptop for around 6 months and recently a blue screen has started flashing up with white writing scrolling down really fast and then the laptop restarts itself. I don't have time to read what this writing says. Can any one give me any advice on what this could be and how to fix the problem ?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi
Well, the simple way is to reinstall the OS. But if you want, you can disable the automatically restart function of Windows Xp to read this error massage.
Go to System in Control Panel. Then Advanced tab. In the Startup ad Recovery section press setting button. There you need to disable the option Automatically restart.
But its very difficult to understand the blue screen error message for common users.
    Bye

  • Satellite Pro A300 crashes with blank screen

I have a Satellite Pro A300, AMD CPU, ATI graphics, Vista.
The system worked fine for a year but a few months ago it started crashing, the screen went blank, not blue, anything running, like music, stopped. This can happen after several hours or minutes, or even whilst it is re-booting. All my software is up-to-date, both from Microsoft and Toshiba. I have rebuilt my system from scratch and the symptoms came back.
At first I thought this might be a heat problem but I have monitored this but I don't think this is it. It has crashed seconds after leaving sleep mode when it has not had a chance to warm up.
    Anybody got any ideas?
    Simon

    Hi buddy,
Theoretically it could be an overheating problem so the screen went blank due built in overheat protection...
You should try to clean your notebook using compressed air spray. This could blow out the dust from the cooling ventilators and therefore its not necessary to disassemble the notebook.
In your case I would recommend reading this article:

  • Blue Screen error using Boot Camp when installing XP on the MacBook Pro

I have been trying to install Windows XP Professional (with SP2) on my MacBook and I keep encountering blue screen errors during the install. I successfully create the Windows partition with Boot Camp (v2.0) and then Windows install begins. However, during the setup process it hangs and then eventually throws an error showing a blue screen. There has been a different error each time I've tried to install. I've booted in OSX and then deleted the Windows partition through Boot Camp and then attempted the process from the beginning five separate times and each time I get an error during the initial install phase.
Its not a matter of the installation CD because i borrowed 3 differnt copies from some friends and i still have the same issues.
Once, I managed to actually start windows XP however it was full of errors probably as parts of it weren't properly installed due to the the blue screens that made me reboot several times.
Am I the only one having this problem??
Is this a matter of the hardware? Can you think of any possible solution?
(I used NTFS did everything propperly I'm 100% sure)(I tried FAT as well)(still nothing)

Can you read and write from your optical drive? I would have it checked by burning something to it and seeing if it can be read.
