  • Satellite Pro L10: sound card does not support Windows 7

    Hi
i have a Satellite Pro L10 so i installed a Windows 7 on my system but my laptop can not support Windows 7.
I need update of sound card for Windows 7.
The model of sound car is Conexant CX20468-31 AC97 Audio Sound Card.
    Please help me

    Hi buddy
What to say first of all you will not get official drivers for this notebook for Win 7 or Vista.
This notebook is oldie and I doubt the drivers will be released.
Reading through this forum threads Ive noticed that most of the user use the Vista driver on Win 7 OS.
Maybe you should google for the Conexant AC97 Vista driver and should try a Vista driver on Win 7
    Good luck

  • BIOS Update Satellite Pro L10

I downloaded a BIOS update for my Satellite PRO L10 notebook, when I try to install I receive the following message
The input file EW3I1A04.WPH cannot be found, a valid filename must be specified to continue.
    Any advice appreciated
    Regards,

    Hello guys
Mochitas I don't have SP L10 but I would like to know how you make BIOS update. SP L10 is old notebook models and if there is something wrong Toshiba have had enough time to replace offered BIOS update. I cannot imagine there is something wrong.
Pavlaras if you open zip file you will see exe file and it is logic to use this file to start BIOS update. I really don't understand how you come to EW3I3A26.WPH file. If you are not familiar with BIOS update why you make such risk before picking up some info how to do this.
I must say that I believe you have damaged BIOS chip and because of that you cannot start your notebook. Sorry but only authorized service provider can help you.

  • Intermittent WiFi on Satellite Pro L10 /D-Link WAP

Equipment: new Satellite Pro L10 with Centrino & integrated Intel Pro 2200BG wifi and D-Link DWL2100Ap wireless access point. The new laptop works on a neighbour's wireless network (all day), and my Sony laptop works on our D-Link based network. However the new Toshiba works for a while first thing in the day (maybe 2 hours) then stops working with increasing frequency. By afternoon it won't work for more than a second or so.
Mostly, however, the icon says it's connected and config free says it's connected; show wireless networks varies - different bits of the system disagree about connection status, but no data flows.
The D-link WAP always says it has the Toshiba as a client. Selecting "repair" normally makes it work for a second or two.
It always seems to have an allocated IP number, according to IPCONFIG - however, if I try connecting late in the day and it doesn't already have an IP it can't stay connected for long enough to get one.
    Very frustrating. Any help appreciated.

    Hello
    Well its very strange.
You said that the notebook works on the neighbors wireless Lan very well.
In this case I dont think that its a problem of Wireless Lan card.
Try to check the settings on your rooter.
Maybe you can compare your settings with the neighbors.

  • How to connect Satellite Pro L10 to TV?

    Cheers
    Ray.

    Hi buddy,
there are such special "VGA-to-TV" Converter like this one http://www.smarthome.com/7743.html . The benefit of this box is, that you can make some accurate settings for your picture.
Otherwise you can try that thing which pedro suggested.
    Should work well. ;)

  • Satellite Pro L10 - Unmountable Boot Volume

My Satellite Pro L10 loops at the boot process. After the Windows XP splash screen, the following error messages comes up: .... Unmountable boot volume... Technical Information: Stop: 0x000000ED...
I know this is nothing exceptional and doing a full recovery would solve the problem. But I don't want to loose the data (which of course is not backed up). I tried a Windows XP disc, but it won't boot from the cd/dvd drive pressing F12 or <0> and changing the boot order....
    Can anyone help please?

    Hi
Hmm the error message unmountable boot volume appears mostly if the HDD cannot be recognized during the booting. Why? Well, possibly the HDD malfunctions or the master boot record is faulty!
If you dont want to recover the notebook you could try to boot from the XP CD (press C button immediately after notebook powering) and to start the repair console.
In the repair console you could use the command chkdsk /p and after this you could fix the master boot record using the command fixboot or/and fixmbr.
If it does not help, the new OS installation is you last resort.
Ps: if you want to backup the data you can try to remove the HDD and try to connect it via external USB HDD controller to another computer.

  • Satellite Pro L10-103 - USB ports not working

Hi, my Satellite Pro L10-103 USB Ports are not working. I've tried various things and lastly my advisor scrubbed my computer clean of all programmes and operating system. After reloading from the set up disk and having lost my some expensive programmes I am no further forward. Still not working.
Does anyone know if this means it is a mechanical problem with the computer? (I'm using Windows XP). Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Try please just to install chipset driver .

  • Satellite Pro L10: How to make WLAN status to be always ON?

We have Satellite Pro L10 laptops at school. The button on the front of the machines that allows you to disable the wirless network is a real pain because it is an extra thing to go wrongwhilst trying to get a laptop to access our school wireless network.
Is there anyway of disabling this button so that the laptops will always access avaialble wireless networks?

try removing the Wifi mini pci card and isolate pin 11 and 13 on the card with a small piece of tape or nail varnish. This worked for me in my satellite to force the card to be allways on. You can still disable it with the software though. You count the pins odd numbers on the top of the card (aerial connection side) and evens below. Dont forget the pin on its own on the left of the card (this being the number 1 pin) Hope this is some use to you and works.. :)

  • Blue Box says "Enter Password"

When I power on my Satellite laptop, the Toshiba splash screen shows up for a second or two, then I get a completely black screen with a small blue box saying "Enter Password", with a command line below.  I've never seen this before, and the computer does not respond to my Windows password.  I have no idea what the password is, and can't seem to bypass this screen at all.
    Any ideas???

Unfortunately, your laptop may require servicing.
What can I do if my computer asks for a password before booting?

  • Why does it suddenly say:enter password for"^1" next 2 my shopping basket?

after downloading the latest itunes upgrade last night (7.7) it says: enter password for "^1" next to my shopping basket icon, what does this mean? could someone explain why this happens and how to rectify it if need be? thanks, i haven't got the foggiest!.....?

Just an update, a workaround to this problem was to download the Keynote file to my Mac and save that copy of the document on my Mac, not in iCloud Drive. I have been able to work with the document just fine since then, with Keynote on my Mac. This just means doing without the syncing benefits of iCloud Drive. Seems this problem was more with iCloud Drive itself than with Keynote.
iCloud Drive did have the most recent, up-to-the-minute copy of my work online when I visited it via the web. I was able to work with the file with the Keynote beta program in the web browser, but that program is missing some of the features of the desktop version.
The original problem of the file becoming unreadable has been solved by this workaround. But it is still a bug. I reported it through Apple feedback and hope they will fix this.

  • Very weak WLAN signal on Satellite Pro L10

    Hi,
I have a Sat Pro L10 that came without a mini pci wireless card so I bought and installed one and fitted internal antenna behind the screen. When I am in the same room as the router I have a brilliant connection but as soon as I leave the room I lose it all together. The router is fine as other people have no problem connecting to it. The card I bought is made by Agere but came labelled as Toshiba, I have updated the driver to the newest I could find which is june 2002.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated as I'm sick of dragging this wire around with me.

    Hi
I think there is no much to do. I think the environment has a strong influence on the Wlan signal receiving. Its the same issue like yours.
My brother uses the Wlan at home and the signal is strong enough if he is in the same room but in other rooms the signal is very weak. But at my home he can receives the WLan signals without any problems. The signal is strong also if he is in different rooms
I think the room walls are the reason for the weak signal.
But you could check the Wlan card properties in the device manager. There you could change some settings in the Advanced tab. For example disable the power saving, etc

  • Fan on my satellite pro L10

Toshiba prefers notebook to laptop, no wonder as the notebook gets quite warm and makes laptop use uncomfortable. The user can select from silent or performance (bios settings). After 10 mins use, the fan kicks in a purges the heat build up. However, the frequency of heat exhaust purging increases with use and becomes quite irrating. A third "comfort" option with the fan on all the time would be less distracting, would keep the notebook cooler. The speed of fan in this instance could be lower to offset the increase in noise.

    Hi Mosh2011,
Sorry for the late reply but I've just found out the Celeron M doesn't have the power management features that the Pentium M has, ie no Speedstep!:
    http://forum.rightmark.org/topic.cgi?id=6:225
There should be a BIOS option on the L10 to reduce the processor power, also 'CPU Rightmark' gives the option of throttling the CPU clock from a Windows program:
    http://cpu.rightmark.org/
This will give some improvement but will still be nowhere near as good as a Pentium M with Speedstep.
The above software will also allow you to undervolt the CPU a little which will help more.
FWIW my father bought a Celeron L10 and is returning it due to the fan being much worse than his old P3 laptop.
    Hope this helps,
    Pete.

  • Hook to itunes screen, Itunes says enter password on ipod when I can't*****

One day I wanted to listen to music...
But it said "Hook to itunes"
I was like "Okay why not"
And then I hooked it up and it said "Cannot connect enter password on ipod"
So I go to my ipod and all it can do is show the hook to itunes screen
Nothing else, I even reset it
    So what do I do?

It's ugly but this will work. Reset the iPod. Plug the USB into th iPOD while holding the home button which puts the iPod into recovery mode. Select restore. It wipes everyhting out but then you will have a chance to restore from backup (hopefully you have one).
THere is an official support document that shows how to do this "recovery mode".

  • Satellite Pro L10 shuts down spontaneously

My wife's 4 year old L10 (Windows XP) has recently developed a habit of shutting down for no apparent reason.
There is no error message. It doesn't seem to be overheating.
The shutdown is not associated with any particular software. It occurs when she is using it.
It's causing her great irritation and since she expects me to fix the problem I'm under pressure!
    Any ideas, please?

    Hello Hugh
You are right about laptops disassembling. It is a little bit more complicated then do this on desktops. The disassembling procedure must be done in the right order to avoid damage. There are so many small plastic parts and holders and to move some of them you need special tools.
Unfortunately, the maintenance manuals is not a public document and that is the reason why you cannot find anything on Toshibas page about it.
I don't know what to say. On one side I understand you that you want to solve it on your own but you must also know that you do this on your own risk. Please be careful and don't do anything that can break the plastic covers.
