Satellite Pro L350 - When using internet via Wi-Fi screen locks up
Recentlyt bought Satellite Pro L350. When using internet via Wi-Fi screen locks up. I can't turn off.
Had to remove battery to shut down. Re-loaded battery and restarted, OK for a while then same occurance.
Help!
This occurs while on plugged into wall. When I could not get shut down I unplugged from wall but was then on battery power. Using Vista as supplied by vendor Circuit City.

This can be caused by a number of issues.
Was everything working and then suddenly stopped??
Or is this a new clean setup and has never worked.
Do you have a cable modem which is not a router and the TC setup in bridge? That will cause it. The TC must be in router mode, ie dhcp and nat.
Check the IP the MBP gets including dns and gateway..
Then check the ipad/iphone.. post what IP dns and gateway (router in applespeak) they get. -
I installed a Dell OS disk onto my Satellite Pro L350-107
Call me an idiot, but i don't know much about drivers or installing vista.
I'll tell you guys everything in order to make as much sense as possible:
On my Toshiba Satellite Pro L350-107, i was simply watching a .MKV file on a program called "Zoom Player", it suddenly popped up saying "zoom player has stopped working". So i clicked X on the pop up but my laptop crashed, and i had to turn it off by the power button by holding it down for 5 seconds.
After that incident, i turned the laptop back on, everything was normal until about two minutes into logging in, everything froze again, and again and again until i gave up on it. The next morning i found out that my father managed to use the guest account without problems, so i instantly logged into my account only to see pop ups like "flash cards have stopped working" and anything toshiba related crashing, but i could still use the internet.
I decided to do a system restore, after 2 unsucessful attempts i finally restored my laptop to the earliest date, and everything was fine until around an hour into the laptop it would crash like what i explained above.
Then my father got a copy of mcafee, and we were looking for viruses, at the halfway point of the scan it found 2 trojans but crashed during the middle of the overall scan. Now here is the real problem....
I had an operating system disk, due to the fact that i thought it was simply just installing vista again, i formated the harddrive of the L350 - 107 and proceeded to install, but i had to install on the second harddrive, because on the c/ drive couldn't. After the vista intall was complete, i wanted to check out what is what, but the operating disk was a dell operating disk and now thinks its a dell. Now the screen is stuck at a 32 bit display and none of the driver are linked up, due to them being toshiba drivers not dell.
I've tried looking for drivers and looked for a downloadable operating system disk but nothing worked, toshiba stopped giving a operating disk with their laptops (so i heard).

First of all newer Toshiba notebooks are equipped with the HDD recovery option and this helps to recover the notebook but only if the HDD was not formatted.
Secondly you will always find an Toshiba recovery disk creator software preinstalled on the Toshiba notebooks. This tool creates the Recovery disk!!!
But this should be done also before HDD has been formatted!!!
Furthermore you always get a reminder message that you should burn this image on a DVD:

your system is equipped with hard disk recovery system. if you need to repair
your computer by restoring it to original factory state, you can do it directly
from harddisk (press F8 when you boot your computer, choose "Repair your computer"
and follow the menue instructions) or create a bootable Recovery Disc Medium for this purpose.
Toshiba recommends you to create Recovery Disc Medium using the "Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator" to ensure
hat you are able to restore your computer to the original factory installed state, even if your computer

However, back to your issue...
You've got two possibilities;
Yu will format the HDD and will install the OS using the Microsoft original Windows disk. Then you could download the Toshiba drivers from the Toshiba European driver page.
Or you will order the Toshiba recovery disk for this notebook from here:

How to remove Open/Save prompt when using Internet Explorer
Acrobat XI Pro was deployed with custom MST that had When using Internet Explorer prompt for Open/Save. Is there a hack that will disable this prompt without having to re-install Acrobat XI Pro?
An engineer gave me a possible solution, but I don't have permission on my machine to test it. You can try the following:

This is because of not having necessary permissions to edit the registry. To obtain the permission, follow following steps:
Right click on “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AcroPDF.FDF.1” and click permissions.
On permissions dialog, click Advanced.
In the new dialog, select Owner tab and make current user as owner.
Click Apply and close the dialog.
Close the permission dialog.
Try editing the registry as suggested. -
When using Firefox, the tool bar above the "compose mail" window is missing. I cannot change fonts, use bold, italics, underline, change colors, align margins, etc. When using Internet Explorer the bar IS there but I prefer Firefox, as it is much faster. My operating system is Vista.
Thanks Tony T1, I have tried using the Mail -> Format drop downs...
... and using the format toolbar...
... and in both cases, Bold and Italic is greyed out... (bit hard to see in the second screenshot, but it is, honest!)
The mail message is def set as Rich Text, which you can see in the first screenshot, as the option to Make Plain Text is there... -

I'm trying to read some XML data from temperature logger over my network. I'm using LabView version 2009 sp1. I'm using the URL Get Document Vi. It works fine when using Internet sites like google or foxnews etc...
When I use it with my temperature logger most of the time I get an Error 66...but some times it does work and actually retrieves the document.
I can use the same address "http://172.22.21.68/XMLfeed.rb" (Internet Explorer or Google Chrome) in my browser and get a response every time. When accessing from my browser the server in the temperature logger does take around 6 seconds to respond, but it does respond every time.
Is the URL Get Document Vi exceeding a timeout? If so, where can I set it to wait longer?

Error 66.jpg 183 KBIt looks like the TCP Buffered Read has a 2.5 sec timeout, I believe that is where I had trouble as well. Try creating your own URL Get HTTP Doc vi in which you call URL Get Document in normal mode, with an appropriate number of characters to fetch (enough characters so that you capture all the important data in the XML file).

when using internet Facebook won't open first. it will open if I open open another site first like Amazon, then it will open fine.
What version of iPhoto were you running prior to Mavericks? First boot into Revovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down) and repair the disk and disk permissions. Then reboot back into Mavericks.
Two hours later when the transfer was complete, rather than having a normol iPhoto Library icon (stack of pictures with a photo of a flower), the library appeared as a folder with a half done progress bar and an "x" close button in the corner.
There was a problem with copying the older iPhoto library from the backup. Delete the library and drag it once again from the backup drive to the Pictures folder. Run the upgrader again. Is this what you see when your first launch the upgrader?

When writing an e-mail directly on the Orange e-mail service (not on Thunderbird) I am facing the following problem : some distribution lists cannot be used to complete the adressees. The same lists can be used without difficulty if I use Internet Explorer instead of Firefox. The Orange hotline told me that probably my Firefox version was not updated. Unfortunately I checked that, and apparently the automatic updating works. I have also updated the plug ins, without any result.
Please could you specify which webpage you mean ?
The process with Orange is the following :
- 1. click on "Write an e-mail" on the mail webpage
- 2. click on "To" to reach the Contacts which opens a new window
- 3. click on "Distribution lists"
- 4. click on the selected list then click on "add". The list appears ot the box corresponding to the addresses .
UNTIL THEN EVERYTHING WORKS WELL
- 5. click on the button "validate", which closes the window previously opened and normally
- 6. reloads the initial page with the complete list on the line "To". Instead of that I get the last e-mail address I previously used .
Question : at which step of this process should I try your suggestions ? I tried when the initial page was reloaded with the wrong address, but it did not work to get back the rignt distribution list;
Note that the whole process functions with OTHER Distribution lists. The only difference is that the problematic one has a larger number of adresses (62) however inferior to the maximum indicated by Orange (100).
I also remind that there is no problem when using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox.

I am using outlook express for my mail. When using internet explorer on PC I could set it up so I could simultaneously see all my inboxes, the mail details and a message preview. Can I do this on my Mac?
About accessing using a browser: I can get in using Firefox or Safari, butI cant set the page up to see all my inboxes at the same time (so I can file emails appropriately) or get a preview to save opening every mail

Is this an app bbbc? IF it is I would contact the app developer and see if they can resolve the issue for you.

Using internet banking the gold security lock is missing from bottom right task bar
I am disturbed that the 'safe & secure ' gold padlock symbol that usually appears when using Internet Banking is no longer down near the bottom right Task Bar area. I always log in via the 'Address Bar'. Any reason ? Many thanks.
Ideally you should focus on the new identity button that is explained in the previous posts.
However, there is an addon that adds the padlock icon to Firefox 4. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/padlock-icon/
Because the status bar at the bottom of the window is no longer shown by default, this addon displays the padlock inside the identity button. For users who are trained to look for a padlock, this might help them to move their attention to the new identity button. -

It turns out that iCloud caused this issue. When I turned iCloud off my login screen was completely normal.
