Satellite Pro S500 - Recover Media Creator fails to start

I have received a new Satellite Pro S500 laptop. After initial setup, I have Windows 7 64bit working. I wanted to create the recovery media but the process fails.
After starting the "Toshiba Recoverx Media Creator" I get a dialog box where I can choose the language for the recovery media. My language is german. So I select German and press OK. For some seconds there is another Dialog Box with a Text "Please Wait..." and after some soconds it closes itself. Nothing happend.
Any other language selection in the first dialog box lead to the same behaviour. Even tried in Windows safe mode, but always the same.
Is there a log file?
Any help is appreciated

I presume you have bought your notebook in Switzerland, right? as far as I know only in Switzerland Toshiba notebooks are offered on several languages.
Anyway, recovery disc creation should work properly if recovery data are not removed or deleted.
Have you may be changed partitions structure on HDD or maybe deleted something?
It sounds to me that recovery data are missing and recovery disc creation cannot be started.

I agree with user above. Only one port can transfer video and audio signal at the same time and it is HDMI port.
If your notebook hast this port use it for usage with TV. Using this port you will have best audio and video quality on the TV.
If you need some more info please let us know for which purposes you need this audio signal transfer.

Which Port Replikatoren can be used with Satellite Pro S500-116?

If there is a Port Replicator connector on the Base of the S500, then you would need the Express Port Replicator.
Otherwise if there is no Port Rep connector, you will need to use a USB Docker, such as the DynaDock.

Satellite Pro S500-11C - poor audio performance

Hi Folks,
I have a Satellite Pro S500-11C which suffers from the poor audio performance mentioned in reviews of the S500-11C (yeah I should have *+listened+* to the reviews and excuse the pun).
This is making it very difficult to use this laptop for audio applications such as music, VOIP and Skype without having to carry about a heaeset of some type.
Has anyone else eperianced this problem and had a solution. Any help from Toshiba??

Sorry but what kind of problem do you mean exactly? Is the sound not loud enough or what?
I mean this notebook has standard stereo speakers and not high end harman/kardon speakers inside.
I have Satellite L300 in front of me with same stereo speakers. Sound is OK but not so good as on other laptops with h/K speakers.
By the way: what kind of help do you expect? Some new driver that makes speakers louder maybe?

Recovery Media Creator Failed continuiously for Satellite C670

I am at my wits end I have tried everything possible, read the heip manual and shut down everything possible, sleep modes and all and still no luck. The errors I am getting are:
failed to burn: bin backup.ini
failed to burn: checkmaxptsize.exe
I am tired of wasting DVD-R's 10 of them so far. Will Toshiba sell me recovery disks? But I would like to really know why my Recovery Media Creator is not working.

There are two possible issues:
Either the CD/DVD drive laser lens is dirty and cannot handle all disk properly or the disks are not fully compatible.
Would recommend cleaning the laser lens using an cotton wool tip and alcohol in most cases its good enough to cleaning the lens
Furthermore try to use other disks from different brands..
TDK R disks or Verbatim R are good never had any problems using it

Satellite Pro A100 - Recovery disk creator doesn't exist!

Can anyone help! My laptop works fine, but I wanted to create a boot disk incase of problems.
But Toshiba Assist>Protect & Fix> doesnt give me an option to create a boot disk.
Is this expected with this model?
I do have the Toshiba Recovery Disk that came with the computer, but have been warned NOT to test it, otherwise it may actually cause me problems!
Any ideas?

This option is not offered on this notebook model. Because of that Toshiba gives DVD recovery that can be used for operating system installation.

Such info can come just from people who dont know what they are talking about. Please ask this person what he means exactly and I will offer you the right explanation about recovery procedure if you want.

Premiere Pro CC and Media Encoder won't start

CS5 Media Encoder fails to start.

Hi All,
Two days ago whilst encoding an AVI file my Display driver failed then recovered halting AME. l needed to reboot to start again, and the Display driver failed again but recovered. I have since been able to encode the file but fear the graphics card may be on the way out. My problem now is l want to encode another AVI but AME fails to start after the logo apears a message says that AME has stopped working. I seem to remember a forum member in PPro giving advise on deleting the Pref file as it may have been corrupted, but l can't find any reference to it anywhere. I'm working with Windows 7 64 with Adobe Production Premium. l hope it's just a matter of deleting these files. Can any one help please. All updates have been installed to these programs.

During BIOS update Satellite Pro A60 went down and hasn't started

Hello everyone,
I have a Satellite Pro A60 and I updated the bios. Halfway the update, my laptop went down and hasn´t started since. All it does is give a couple of beeps (trying to tell me the bios is corrupted, I suppose) and shuts itself off again.
Tried to start with the (~) key pressed down (a tip I got from a friend), but no succes.
I currently live in a country where there is no Toshiba dealer available and I rather not ship the laptop to have it repaired.
Does anyone know of a way to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This sounds not good.
If during the POST the BIOS detects a problem it will normally display a visual error message on the monitor explaining what the problem is. However, if a problem is detected before the BIOS initializes the video card or a video card is not present or not detected then the BIOS will play several BEEPS through the speaker to let you know there is a problem.
Depending on the type of the BIOS you have the BIOS may play beeps in a specific pattern to indicate what the problem is, or play the same beep a number of times indicating the problem.
In your case its possible that you have used a wrong BIOS or a wrong BIOS procedure. Both can damage the motherboard.
To prevent such damages and any mistakes Toshiba has published the FAQ document.
How to update the BIOS on most units!
This you should read before doing any BIOS updates!
Unfortunately I dont think that you can solve it yourself. I think you should ask the ASP for help.

Media Centre fails to start

My system fell over due to an update and I had to go back to an earlier restore. All worked well, except that Media Centre won't start (as it did in the past). The Icon is there but clicking it has no effect. The services are listed in the list of services,
but recorded as stopped and will not change.
Any offers for the source of the problem?

Run Setup Again.
Open WMC > Tasks > Settings > General > Windows Media Center Setup > Run Setup Again
Does it help?
If the above doesn't help then try resetting WMC:-
Open Control Panel > Uninstall a Program > Turn Windows Features on or off > Scroll down to Media Features > Uncheck the box against Windows Media Center > Follow on screen instructions > Reboot > Again open Turn Windows Features on
or off under Control Panel > Scroll down to Media Features > Check the box against Windows Media Center.
Now reconfigure WMC again.
Make sure all the drivers are updated.

I get the following errors when trying to update firmware for Disc Creator i am using Windows VIsta Home Premium,
Unexpected error occurred.
Error Code: 32007C-26-00000015
Followed by:
Error Code: 320129-26-00000015 - then application crashes.

Hi,
A client of mine was getting this on his laptop when he had an encrypted USB thumbdrive plugged in.
If the thumbdrive was disconnected the error went away.
I'm guessing the application is querying all drive letters and perhaps erroring when it can't read the contents of the drive or it doesn't understand the file system.
Try disconnecting any attached devices (inc. printers with card readers) and see if the problem goes away.

Strange noise emitting from Satellite Pro S500

For the past 24 hours my laptop as detailed above has been making a short (3-4 secs) low buzzing noise approximately every 5 minutes. It appears to be coming from the top LHS of the machine. In all other ways the machine is in perfect working order. It is 4 weeks old.
(I hope I have written this question in the correct place?)

According the user manual the HDD is placed on the right side. Are you sure that its coming from the left side?
But generally in every case I would contact an authorized service provider. Why?
Your notebook is still under warranty so the repair is for free. Furthermore I dont believe that its normal so it should be fixed.

Adobe Media Encoder Fails to start

I recently upgraded to CS5, fully 64-bit, but because a lot of my plugins and etc are still 32-bit, I installed the 32-bit support so I could have premiere & after effects CS4 and CS5 on the same system. But this seems to have created a but with media encoder, When I do a render que in media encoder, it doesn't start at all, just hangs there saying contacting dynamic link manager. The only way to render out of Premiere CS5 is to use the export feature within it. I also get a problem with whenever I say export media, it says there is an update for the media encoder, when there is one for CS4 media encoder not CS5 media encoder. And all the processmanagers and mediaimporter are running in 32-bit for some reason.

I recommend getting the suite. Mixing and matching CS5 and CS4 not a good idea. I took the plunge and so far I don't regret it even though I have run into some bugs that are slowly getting fixed. CS4 engine not the same as CS5.

Satellite Pro A10: after 3 years now just started shutting down

Can anyone help with this problem?
I've had my Sat Pro A10 about 3 years now and it's just started shutting down.
I've had the fan replaced and the unit cleaned out.
In the power options I've set the processor to minimum speed and the cooling to max.
Has anyone got any other suggestions.

There is a good way to test if you have a CPU/RAM related problem. Just use Superprime or prime95 which is excellent for testing these two core components.
I am a heavy overclocker, so I need prime95 like my breath, and it works perfectly. It shows me when the CPU is exceeding a limit of overclocking (the same for the RAM) and if something is wrong with it.
If you then test it on your own machine, and you get an error, then you know that you probably have a hardware fault. But make sure that you quit all unneeded applications, which can disturb the test, so there were some reports, that applications cause error with these program.
I hope I could give you a new idea.

Satellite Pro L850-1UJ: How create recovery DVDs from recovery partition

I recently bought a Satellite Pro L850-1UJ with Windows 8

I've created a new partition (so i could use it as data room)
i.e. C: the windows system AND Z: my data
after that, i could NOT use the RECOVERY MEDIA CREATOR to create the recovery dvds
BUT the partition still exists and i can see the inside files from windows
IS IT a way to extract the files from the recovery partition or any other clue how i could fix the partition scheme so the RECOVERY MEDIA CREATOR could recognize it

This was a mistake
The HDD partition table has been modified and changed which means that the Toshiba recover media creator would not find the essential files in order to create the Recovery disk or recovery USB flash memory stick.
What you could try to do is to reset the notebook back to factory settings.
For this you can use the option called Reset your PC.

After that the partition table should be set to the same state like at the first day of purchase and you could try to create the recovery disk once again.
