Satellite T130-11u - Bluetooth issue Win 7 64bit

Hi, also got a new T130-11u with windows 7 64x
I have a problem with bluetooth.
After i install bluetooth stack 7.10. (new manager) i can not conect any devices to my notebook.
The manager finds devices starts the instalation and it pops an error saying DETECTION OF SERVICE FAILED.
It is the same for dfferetnt bluetooth mouses, or even conecting to mobile phones!!
I tried to download different bluetooth manager but this is the only one that can install the drivers.
If i uninstall the manager, i also uninstall the drivers, and the device manager does not recognise bluetooth missing. !!! wtf !!
So.. Please HELP ...

After installing latest BT stack have you enabled BT module properly?
I use BT on two Toshiba notebooks and I can say the principle is always the same so I don't think on your T130 is some difference.
Move WLAN switch to position ON and use FN+F8 key combination to enable BT module and you should be able to connect it to your mobile phone. If necessary create new connectivity.
Is BT symbol in notification area red or blue when you get this DETECTION OF SERVICE FAILED error?

  • Satellite T130-11U lost Bluetooth connection after installing Mobile Broadb

I recently bought a Satellite T130-11U and established a connection with my Nokia N82, using PC Suite.
Then I installed my Mobile Broadband (TMN operator) and lost the Bluetooth connection.
There must be some way to overcome this "conflict".
    Anyone faced the same problem?
    Thank you.

    Hi
Maybe this 3rd party application is not compatible and this is the reason why this happens
But first of all you should check if the Bluetooth is still enabled
Furthermore you should check if this issue would happen after installation of new BT stack
Here you can find the new BT stack:

    Hi,
I have some problem with the wifi in my Toshiba Satellite C55-A-199.
I have downloaded and installed every drivers that I could find on the [website|http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp] but I am still not able to turn off the wifi by pressing fn+f12.
When I press fn+f12 the bluetooth can be switch on/off but the wifi symbol doesn't appear on the screen, and the red led at the front keeps lighting.
I don't know what could be the problem, but I hope I'll get some help here.

    Hi everybody,
_Thanks a lot Randy, doing what you said helped me solved the issue_ with my newly Satellite C55-A-1P2, but unfortunately I have discovered an even bigger issue.
I think this thread is probably not the right place to say my problem but I haven't found to much info regarding the issue. :(
If I'm allowed here this is what I'm encountering with the Wi-Fi adapter:
My Wi-Fi adapter (Qualcomm Atheros AR956x I think this is the one) is frequently disconnecting, stays disconnected for a minute or so and after that is reconnecting. For me that is a very big issue as I'm a heavily Wi-Fi user. I do have the latest driver installed from Toshiba site and using windows 7 ultimate 64-bit.
If anybody has any idea on how to solve this issue or if it's even solvable(if this is the case I need to return the laptop) or redirect me to another post related to Wi-Fi disconnections I will be forever grateful.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Satellite Pro L550-17U PSLW9E - Win 7 64bit HDD recovery question

    Hi,
Basically when I recieved the laptop it had the Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installed.
I created the backup disks as requested but the first disk got scratched and gets stuck on the install, I can install the 32 bit version (the CD it came with) and I've tried to create a new recovery disk via the 32 bit system but this just creates a 32 bit recovery disk (which I already had the proper disk).
Just seeing if there is any way to restore the 64 bit system without having to buy a new version of windows?

Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (pre-installed, Toshiba-HDD recovery) and
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit (Toshiba-Recovery DVD)

    Hi buddy,
The recovery disk that was delivered with your notebook contains *only* Windows 7 32bit version. That means if you install this version, you are able to create 32bit recovery disk but not 64bit. Therefore you would need the 64bit recovery disk.
In my opinion you can do nothing without ordering a 64bit recovery disk. Such disks can be ordered here:

I hope I could help you a little bit. :)

  • Intel AC7260 wifi + bluetooth in win 7 64bit

Hi, I bought the Intel AC7260 dual + Bluetooth v4. Downloaded the latest Intel drivers and installed them.
My problem is that it does not show the Intel driver in the device manager. It just shows Generic Bluetooth Adapter
and Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator. How do I get the Intel driver(2014) to work instead of the generic Driver (2006) which is so far out of date?

    Hi,
As I known, Device Manager provides you with a graphical view of the hardware that is installed on your computer.
It may not be the driver name.
Please find if there is unknow device showing up after you plug the  Intel AC7260 dual + Bluetooth v4 and check hardware changes in Device manager, and then, right click to open the properties, under Driver tab, choose update
drivers and then manually locate the driver file on your local computer to see what's going on.

  • Satellite A300-1FP - Chicony webcam Win 7 64bit - driver open failed

    Greetings
I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit on my Toshiba Satellite A300-1FP. I was surprised at how smoothly it went. The only thing that was missing was a Windows 7 driver for the Chicony Webcam. A number of people on these forums have suggested using the Vista 64 bit driver. I tried numerous times to make this work. I deleted the startup entry, deleted and resinstalled the driver from device manager, etc. Everything I have found on these forums I've tried.
None of it works. I continue to get the error message "Webcam driver open failed. Please restart camera or computer."
Even with the "camera assistant" the Chicony camera is really awful. Had I know before I bought the machine I would have chosen otherwise. Too late now. Without the assitant you have only the driver that comes with Windows 7 which allows you to use the camera but unless you have Hollywood quality lighting the video is so dark that it is nearly unusable. The "camera assistant" at least had a booster for darker rooms.
I don't know why Toshiba ever used this camera in the first place.
There are many people with this same exact problem who are looking for help in the various forums for their system.
If anyone knows how to handle this I would really appreciate hearing from you. Toshiba, if you're listening, what were you thinking?
    Dave

    Hello
Just a little question: Have you tried this?
[Why an error message displayed "Webcam driver open fail. Restart camera or computer"?|http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=18]
Furthermore it would be interesting to know if the same happens with factory settings. Can you check this please?

  • Satellite U500 - Bluetooth issues BT Monitor vs. Bt Stack

    Hello everyone,
    My wife's machine is a Satellite U500-10L PSU5EE-002003AR, now with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (originally with Vista pre-installed, later with W7Pro 32-bit.)
Now, I've always had various issues with Bluetooth on this machine, and it's the only machine I've ever had Bluetooth issues with, mostly having to do with internet connectivity via mobile phones.
Most usually, I connect to the internet using Sony Ericsson PC Suite and a Bluetooth-controlled Sony Ericsson mobile phone (currently and Elm, and occasionally a Hazel or a C702.) This setup has always worked flawlessly on every other machine I've used, such as my Getac B300, the old HP Compaq 6710b given to me by my previous employer for a couple of years, and even my untrustworthy old Thinkpad T42 (now deceased), and my mother's ancient Macbook. With those machines, I've never had any trouble connecting to any of the phones or to the internet, with no drops, connection issues or any other issues.
Not so with this U500. I'm writing this while connected through PC Suite, with Bluetooth Monitor 4 as the hardware controller. The connection is intermittent at best, usually unreliable, and sometimes downright impossible. Sometimes it works flawlessly for days on end, and sometimes it just refuses to work. Generally, though, I get a connection more often than not, but the issue is annoying nevertheless.
Now, I tried a different approach: I uninstalled Bluetooth Monitor and SE PC Suite, installed the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack and tried to connect to the internet directly through the BT Stack. I paired the Elm to the U500 successfully from the BT Stack control panel and managed to dial the connection, so far so good. But I had no internet access whatsoever. Now, the phone shows that it's actually connected, and so does the BT Stack control panel and the Windows 7 connectivity monitor in the system tray, but there's no actual access to the internet (I only get the little yellow triangle with the +no internet access+ message, but the phone is dialed in.)
So, I tried reinstalling PC Suite (with BT Stack present), and things got even worse: now the BT connection itself between PC Suite and the phone is only sporadic and intermittent, but sometimes it just works well enough to actually get a connection (albeit an unreliable one.)
So now I've uninstalled the BT Stack, reinstalled BT Monitor and went back to using PC Suite for dialing, and the same issues I mentioned earlier still persist.
Now, my two questions are these: a. why didn't I get any internet access with BT Stack, even though the phone was actually dialed in to the connection? and b. assuming the internet access issue is resolved, would I possibly get a more reliable connection (i.e. one that doesn't suddenly decide to drop every so often) with BT Stack instead of the PC Suite/BT Monitor setup?
    Thanks in advance.

Just an update: I've found that as long as there is a direct line of sight between the phone and the U500, there would be no issues. The Bluetooth connectivity issue only starts to appear whenever there's something - anything - in the way between the two.
Let me clarify. Now I'm sitting at my desk, with the U500 right in front of me, while the mobile phone is hanging from a nail in the wall above me and to the left. Now that there's a direct line of sight between the phone and the U500, I have no issues at all.
Now, let's say I take the U500 off the desk, put in on my lap, and turn my back to the phone. In this case, my head and torso would be in the way of a direct line of sight between the two, and the stability of the connection begins to deteriorate, and it becomes very unreliable - sometimes even dropping the Bluetooth connection altogether (Sony Ericsson PC Suites goes all gray on me!)
Here's another example: there's a printer sitting on the desk right to my left. Now, if I stack up a bunch of magazines on top of the printer, high enough to be within the line of sight, I will start having issues!
So, I'm pretty sure it's a Bluetooth connectivity issue, and has nothing to do with the internet connection or firewall. It's clearly a hardware quality issue.
By contrast, I never experienced any such issue with my B300, the HP Compaq 6710b I had earlier, or even with my now-deceased ThinkPad T42. Hell, I might as well have gone into a different room entirely and still maintained a Bluetooth connection with those three machines! With the Toshiba, though, as soon as I carry the thing out the door - which is about four feet from the phone - the connection is gone!

  • Problems with downgrade from Win 8.1 to Win 7 64bit on Satellite S70-A-11H

    Hi,
My daughter already has a Tosh laptop with Win 7 64bit which is several years old and has seen better days, so for Christmas I bought her a new S70-A-11H notebook with Win 8.1 pre-installed.
She hates it. In fact she will not use the new laptop at all unless it has Win 7 on it.
For people that do not use a tablet or a Windows phone and like a desktop feeling machine Windows 8 does not work for us.
Now I work in a niche IT role using numerous OS such as Microsoft Windows (XP, Win7, Server 2003, Server 2008) and Solaris as well as a bit of RedHat.
Now my Win8 experience is zero.
I thought it would be simple enough to install a retail copy of Win7 with SP1 64bit onto this notebook.
Not so easy as it turns out.
When I boot from the Win 7 install DVD the installer program locks up as the Win 7 logo starts to appear on the screen. If I try an install in safe mode the last driver that appears to load when the lock up occurs is disk.sys.
So the question is how can I install Win 7 64bit SP1 onto this notebook using a retail copy of Win7?
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

*I found the reason for this problem* and the solution outside of this forum.
If anyone else is interested _the issue is cause by the use of GPT partions on the 8.1 build._
To overcome this and install a fresh copy of Win7 you can do this:
-Shut down Windows 8 while pressing the Shift key to completely power off.
-Power on and press F2 while the Toshiba logo is displayed to enter the UEFI Setup Menu.
-Go to the Security tab and set the "Secure Boot" setting to "Disabled".
-Go to the Advanced tab, enter "System Configuration" and set the Boot Mode to "CSM Boot."
-Press F10 to save and exit.
Go to http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ and download gparted boot image. Make bootable gparted cd and use it to delete the GPT partitions on the HDD.
Now just install Win7 64bit as you normally would creating whatever partitions you like during the install process. Of course you must have a new licence key for Win7 for this to work.
To finish off you will need to download all the required drivers from the Toshiba website to suit Win7 64bit. This is quite tedious as some of the files are huge. I got just the basics that I thought I'd need and that ended up being over 1Gb of files.
I'm so pleased I managed to get rid of that nasty Win8 interface.
This is probably not the only way to do this, but this worked for me.

  • Bluetooth Issue ENVY dv7 C2Y65AV After Win 8.1 to Win 7 Downgrade

My laptop is an ENVYdv7 C2Y65AV
It originally came with Windows 8.0, and I upgraded later to 8.1.
I never liked 8.0 or 8.1 so I “downgraded” to Windows 7 Professional. I did my research, realizing there may be issues. I downloaded drivers, bought a new hard drive, etc.
All went better than expected and I am happy with the “downgrade”, save for 1 issue.
1- I am having difficulty getting my Bluetooth to connect completely to any of my devices (headphones or headset).
My WiFi works well, I believe the Bluetooth 4.0 is part of the Intel Centrino WiFi card . When connecting any Bluetooth device, it does show in the Bluetooth devices screen. It will discover it and “connect” to it, but nothing happens when I try to use them. The sound still comes from the laptop speakers.
I have the Intel Centrino Wireless N 2230 BNHMW that came with the laptop. It worked well with Windows 8.1. All my Bluetooth devices paired easily with the laptop when Windows 8.1 is running.
I have been to Intel's website, made sure my driver for the wireless card for Windows 7 is the correct and latest version. They have a software utility that installs on your laptop, then searches and downloads the correct, latest version.
I downloaded all the drivers for this downgrade from HP's (this) website's software and driver support section. What a great resource this site is!
    Suggestions? Advice?
    I appreciate any help!
    Thank you,
    James
    P.S.
An interesting thing about Windows 8.1.
When I installed Windows 7 Professional, I bought a new SSD hard drive just for this purpose. I had saved my pulled hard drive with Windows 8.1 on it just in case this downgrade didn't fare well.
Just for grins, I added it as a second hard drive (later) in case I needed to get missed files.
When I rebooted my laptop, I went into the boot manager, and selected my primary drive with Windows 7. It booted up normally.
Then seconds after booting, a message popped up saying I needed to reboot for the changes to take effect. I didn't recall making any, but figured something had updated?
So I did. I rebooted and Windows 8.1 took over, and changed files on my SSD hard drive (win 7 drive) that ultimately disabled that drive from booting Windows 7.
Trying to boot into the Windows 7 hard drive froze right after the Windows 7 splash screen.
I pulled the plug on the Windows 8.1 hard drive, rebooted to Windows 7. Before I could though, it had to scan the hard drive for changes, and correct them. Then Windows 7 booted up normally.
This Windows 8.1 sure is controlling. Can you say “Hal” from the movie “2001 A Space Odessay”
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Thank You Pepe999,
This Bluetooth issue has been resolved by following your suggestion and replacing my WiFi/ Bth card with a new Intel AC 7260.
    Worked like a charm...Thank you!
Now my Windows 7 "downgrade" is complete. ALL is working, and working better for me than the windows 8.0 an later 8.1 it had.

  • Satellite A300 Win XP 64bit drivers requested

    Hello people,
I am trying to figure out if Toshiba has drivers for win xp 64 bit. There are drivers for xp but there isn't a discrimination like in Vista where you can get 32 or 64 bit drivers from the drop-down list.
Thanx for your answer in advance :)

    Hi
Win XP 64bit drivers do not exist on the Toshiba pages
I doubt you will find it on any of Toshiba page you will need to search on 3rd party pages but this will be a hard venture because the Win XP 64bit was not so popular like 32bit OS.
But since the 4GB RAM issue which is related to 32bit OS limitation many people try the Win XP 64bit. But most manufactures dont develop the Win XP 64bit drivers in this time Win 7 is the future and king. You know.

    Hi
Install the Toshiba Value Added Package for Win 7 64bit and check if it will solve your problem.
The driver for ACPI\TOS1901 seems to belongs to Value Added Package
As Im not mistaken the Satellite A505-S6025 was released in USA. Therefore you should use the Toshiba US driver page to get the package.

The same like touchpad driver you can use the software from other notebook series where Win 7 64bit is fully supported.

This option is placed in BIOS. Its called Illumination and you can enable and disable this in BIOS.
