Satellite T2450-CT: strange error message

I get this error message on my Toshiba T2450-CT.
This BASIC was aborted because this machine has no ROM Basic use Toshiba's Basic.
Due to this I have tried to update the BIOS as per the website instructions, but all I get is a beep when I get to the stage when I insert the floppy disk and press any key!
Can anyone help please.

this is a funny one! It reminds me of the oooold days. Somehwere in the history there was a part of the BIOS or another ROM on the motherboard that held BASIC (the programming language). If the PC somehow did not boot from any disk then it automatically started BASIC.
I think (not 100% sure here) that Toshiba never implemeted the BASIC-part.
Your problem comes probably from the fact that the primary DOS partition is not set ACTIVE. Boot up on a bootable DOS diskette and start FDISK to check that it is set to active.
Take care though!! If you make mistakes here you might destroy your data.

Strange error message when I tried to use the "collaborate" function under "File"

Has anyone else met this before? : I am trying to share my project with my team members. Tried File -> Collaborate and then try three options under it. Non e of them works. It asks for your Adobe ID in order to sign in and upload. However, every time I typed in my Adobe ID and password, it gave me strange error messages. The first time it says: User has not verified email address yet. I have been using this Adobe ID since 2008 or 2009 and of course I have verified my email address. But to make sure, I went back to my email box and search for emails about Adobe ID verification but I didn't find any (I never delete emails such as this).
Then I tried to register a new Adobe ID. This time when I tried to singn in with the new Adobe ID, it will either say "Network may not be available" (which is not true because I am able to surf on the Internet at the same time), or it says "User has not accepted user condition/agreement".
I feel so frustrated because I feel this is definitely not my mistake which caused the failure of log in.
Hope someone can tell me what the reason is and how to fix it though.

Thanks for your quick response. I followed your suggestion and verified my Adobe ID on acrobat.com.
Now I can enter the collaborate function. However, everytime when I tried to send it to myself (for test purpose) I got another error message "You need to enter a valid emaill address". I saw someone else on this forum has met the same problem. Do you have any suggestion on what is the possible reason for this to happen?

First, when trying to sync ipod touch to Itunes, nothing happened. After that, Itunes suggested downloading and installing updates but now updates will not finish installation correctly and launch error messages. Any ideas?

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 800736B3s, or a different error code? If they're different, what codes are you getting in Windows Update?

Strange Error Message at start up of FCE

Hello all. I've got a strange error message at the Startup of FCE 3.5.1 on a MacBook Pro 2.33 C2D.
It's this--
"Unable to locate the following External devices:
"Built-in Audio
But FCE runs fine. I'm not sure what it's asking for. Any suggestions?

ITunes won't launch and I get a strange error message-

My iTunes will not launch and I get this strange error message: The iTunes application could not be opened. The disk could not be read from or written to. But I have no problems with the disk it is on, which is my harddisk. Help, help, help…

I have now tried a billion things: None of them work. I still get the same error message, when I try to launch iTunes after logging into my user profile. However, I can launch iTunes 6.0.1 if I create another userprofile on my computer and log into that. But that isn't very helpful. I have also tried removing iTunes 6.0.1 and installing iTunes 4.7 instead. I can actually launch that. However, I cannot connect to the iTunes music store using iTunes 4.7 nor can I play any of the music purchased from the iTunes music store. What am I to do, except curse Apple for creating a version of iTunes that many people seem to have problems with?

Capture problem -- strange error messages -- computer freezes

Upon 25 minutes or so into capturing, I get a strange error message to this effect: "analyzing DV audio -- validating audio data" -- the video slows to a crawl until it completely freezes -- rainbow wheel whirls nonstop -- sometimes command-option-escape force quits it, sometimes not and I have to reboot the computer. Sometimes I don't get the error message -- the computer capture screen freezes but the camera keeps going. Anyway here are the specs: Intel dual-processor iMac 300 GB with Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.5., format Mac OS Extended journaled. External hard drives Western Digital 500 GB formatted the same; QT 7.5.5; FCE 4.0.1; Settings: DV NTSC 48 Khz. Format & use - DV NTSC. Device control preset: firewire NTSC. Camera - Canon 900 ZR (miniDV tapes) hooked up to back of iMac via 6 pin shiny orange firewire for capture. I capture to Mac hard drive and then move video to external hard drive. Yes there is enough space and RAM. I had this problem before except the error message was "locating time break." So it was suggested I capture to hard disk. Seems like it's always something! I've lost hours trying to fix this problem. Hope someone can help. Thanks.

12 bit. Haven't been having any audio problems with FCE. However, I tried the nightmare iDive and never got audio (much less anything else) to work with that. So I uninstalled it and asked for my money back.

A strange error message on a code-modified page

I am trying to implement this plugin on a simple Muse page:

Simple addition of working code to the Muse page produced a strange error. "beforeAfter is not a function"
By trial and error, a fix was removing one Muse function! The page then seemed to work without problem from my hard drive. But when added to my server, a Muse-related error message pops up. After dismissing the error, the page seems to work. I have been unable to figure out this mysterious error. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Strange error messages being logged.

Hi, my first post!
Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but i'm getting a strange issue ever time I run Adobe Muse.
I have a fully paid up subscription, and the program runs fine, but every time I run it, two files appear in my documents folder, Muselog.txt and MuseLogPrefs.xml.
The MuseLog file contains several identical error mesages, timestamped a few seconds apart.
They are all the same and say -
"Build 6: Oct 5 2012 0:22:48.046: Error: CSI: OOBE: Serial Number: Error Code: O-10 Error Message: Unable to retrieve the serial number (Note: this may not be an error)".
This is then repeated twice more, with a later timestamp.
Anyone any idea why this is happening?
As I said, the program seems to be working fine, but what's this about a serial number, i've never had one!
And why is it logging an error all the time that "may not be an error", every time I run the program!
Any suggestions gratefully received.

I did wonder if it might be checking for something that's not actually relevant to my installation of Muse.
I did activate Muse online, and it seems to be happy that I have a valid subscription, so I guess it doesn't matter.
Adobe should address this though, as it makes it look as if something in wrong with the validation of the program.

Satellite A660 - BIOS update error message

Just tried to update BIOS and get the following error message:
Installing UEFI winflash 0.02
The programme will be closed
There is an error occured, please check below items
Bios version above 200
Battery capacity more than 20%
AC is attached
Anybody got any ideas?

The exact same thing keeps happening to me...
As for the reason I am downloading it: the Toshiba service station is telling me "BIOS version 2.00 for the Satellite A660/A665 is available as a recommended update" So i go ahead and download it. BUUUT, during the install process it opens the Winflash utility and on the second step (right after 'load new bios') it crashes all the time 100% of the time and quits itself always on that same step no matter how I try the install... Also, YES I am sure it is the right BIOS version for my computer, YES I am running it as admin, and NO I do not speak techno fun talk.
I've tried using a separate Toshiba BIOS launcher: what I believe the original poster used, as I got the same message *except* the message i got was: "There is an error occurred (and it spelled that wrong BTW........ but I digress), please check below items. BIOS version above 190, AC connected."
I've tried rebooting fresh and going into the folder it downloaded into and same thing happens, and I've tried re-downloading it from Toshiba's website directly; also did the same thing and didn't work.
Currently I think my computer is on BIOS 1.9 or something like that, and the one attempting to be installed is 2.0. The computer does NOT have any password on any boot-up screen either.
I hope to get this resolved, especially since the laptop is fairly new and whether the update is needed or not, it should not be malfunctioning this way. I'm reluctant to call a technical service "hotline" as I rarely have good experiences with them.

Strange error message - linked lists (again)

I have to keep at this linked list thing if I'm ever going to really understand it!!
I have created a method to create a linked list via user input. I'm receiving only one strange ERROR, which states:
"This method must return a result of of type ListADT.Node."
And I have just started building my class ListADT...

Now why can't the error messages help
out a little more? I would have never guessed that
there was a problem with the catch block not
returning anything!!The message was pretty informative -- it told you what was wrong. If the compiler could be so smart as to be able to tell you exactly what to fix, then the compiler would be able to write code all by itself -- and then you'd be out of a job.

Strange error message getting displayed

Hi All,
We are facing a strange problem when we type in the following URL http://<host>:<port>/irj/blah.jsp
The error message says that the file blah.jsp does not exist and then gives the complete directory structure for e.g. c:\usr\sap\<instance name>\JC<Instance Number>\.....irj\.....\blah.jsp does not exist.
We want to prevent this directory structure from getting displayed and display a generic error message.
Please let us know how this will be possible.

If you want to display your error message you must add in "apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\web.xml" file the following tags:
<error-page>
<error-code>404</error-code>
<location>/my_error_page.jsp</location>
</error-page>
Now when error code 404 occurs then this my_error_page.jsp will be displayed instead of default error page.
In my_error_page.jsp you may process the errors as you want.

WRT54G- Won't accept my new modem and I keep getting a strange error message

On Christmas night, my modem crapped out forcing me to purchase a new one the next day. After getting it online, I attempted to hook up my router. However, I could not connect to the internet through it. I figured it must be because the IP address must have been changed and it needs to be reconfigured.
So, I tried completely re-installing the router but I still could not connect to the internet. When I went on the web browser based page for the router to try to configure it, I got an error message stating that another PC on the network has the IP address. I did have a second PC hooked up to the router at the time; I unhooked it and tried to at least get the router to configure to one of the PCs.
Yet, again, I was getting an error message saying: "May be route already exists".
Because of this, I cannot register the new IP address and still cannot connect to the internet through my router. Anyone know what I need to do?

Who is your Internet Service Providor? Do you have a static IP Address provided by your ISP?

Can't sync iPhone to my mac. Strange error message.

I just tried to sync my iPhone to my mac, and got the following error message:
"iTunes could not sync contacts to the iPhone "MyiPhone" because the iPhone disconnected."
First of all... my iPhone did not disconnect, I am looking at it under "devices" in iTunes and iPhoto right now.
My operating system, iTunes, and iPhone all have their software completely up to date.
I notice that this happens just after iPhoto opens... I have no idea what the problem is. My only idea is that maybe it is the USB cable I'm using. But this is the first time this has happened, and the iPhone didn't show any signs of disconnecting.
Anyone know what is going on and what I should do???

I just read a message from someone with the same problem (posted after I posted my message) and someone resolved the issue...
For anyone else wondering... it was apparently a corrupted file. In iTunes click on your iPhone, then the Info tab, scroll down and click the replace contact info tab, and it should solve the problem.
